Optional Rule - Multiplier Maximization
May increase multipliers up to normal maximum (usually 4.0) at high cost
in EP. [MEP may not be used for S, A, C or Ap. CEP may not be used for C or
Ap]. The first increase in a particular attribute multiplier is at the
listed cost. Subsequent increases multiply the cost by the number of
increases (2nd increase doubles the cost, etc.).
1.0 to 1.5 costs 50 Characteristic Points (each at 25 MEP or 50 CEP) that
cannot
be used for other purposes i.e. increase stat. [1,250 MEP or 2,500 CEP].
1.5 to 2.0 costs 50 Characteristic Points [1,250 MEP or 2,500 CEP].
2.0 to 2.5 costs 100 Characteristic Points [2,500 MEP or 5,000 CEP].
2.5 to 3.0 costs 150 Characteristic Points [3,750 MEP or 7,500 CEP].
3.0 to 3.5 costs 250 Characteristic Points [6,250 MEP or 12,500 CEP].
3.5 to 4.0 costs 400 Characteristic Points [10,000 MEP or 20,000 CEP].
4.0 to 5.0 costs 650 Characteristic Points [16,250 MEP or 32,500 CEP].
5.0 to 6.0 costs 1050 Characteristic Points [26,250 MEP or 52,500 CEP].
6.0 to 8.0 costs 1700 Characteristic Points [42,500 MEP or 85,000 CEP].
Further Option - To increase C or Ap takes the points, combined with in-play
actions that provide an adequate explanation to the ref as to how the
increase is done (this will typically be magic plastic surgery etc).
Only a Fearry can get an 8.0 multiplier, and then only for Ap.
Elves can work up to a 6.0 Ap multiplier, Dwarves up to 6.0 C multiplier.
Note Rule 1.1 states that "Section 1.12 sets a number of multipliers that
allow the Player, by his own volition, to set developmental priorities for
his Character and increase characteristic values in play....The multipliers,
as applied to the Native Ability, represent the effect of his interests and
goals on the development of his somatic potential." Rule 1.12 states "A) The
maximum multiplier that can be assigned to a modifiable characteristic is
FOUR...."
This can be taken to mean that any modifiable characteristic could, with
sufficient work, be improved up to Native Ability times four. Until late in
a Character's career the Character is concerned with other priorities and
cannot maximise every attribute.
