Magic is my favorite part of PnP, few systems allow a mage to make
useful items at a low level.

Sure it has defenders and it can result in being hunted etc.
But what it does to expertese in a weapon is far worse than the combat
experience.
I am trying to find the rules, I recall trees are hard to hurt with
weapons. A bow may do nothing for example. A minimum damage may be
needed but NAV is that too. I know axes do full damage and fire does
extra in general.
And this tree can do a lot of damage from all its vine attacks which is
why bows doing nothing is important.
*sigh* I had planned on having 9 of them replacing a sacred grove circle
as part of the story, now that seems way too much!
The fighter may still win though as he has good magic armor making the
vine strikes less dangerous.
If it is too easy he gets way to much expertese and experience as do
anyone else involved that can hurt them.
So I better rethink it very carefully

I use that for magic prices in general, based on mel+el times a factor.
It isnt a bad basis but it would have been nice to see all the natural
magics priced as they are hard to fit into that formula.
