From a quick reading of the article, P&P already makes things for the mage more difficult do do large illusions over small ones using higher BMC's and higher mana costs. The only P&P change I could see that he references is on the perceiver's rolls, perhaps making his initial disbelief rolls based on a 'difficulty' modifier (same as skill use) depending on how much the illusion matches reality (making the guy look like a horse...is different that making a dwarf look like a different dwarf).
