Culmap.txt - Map Report<br>
<br>
* Map Chart : Each nation broken down into a
chart showing which<br>
nation was in which map book
page. This chart is useful in<br>
that you can edit it and compare
nations quickly if you have<br>
some ideas for a campaign. For
example easy to find which<br>
nations are all on Map 11. You
can edit the data to remoe all<br>
nations but some selected ones for
easy comparison.<br>
<br>
* Map Layout: A text version of the Maps layout
in the world view.<br>
Same as that in the map book.<br>
<br>
* Map breakdown: This report I did up a
decade or more ago. It<br>
is the same as the chart but just
text and only shows nations<br>
for each map but no in a chart
format.<br>
<br>
* Map numbers: Just for fun at the same time a
decade or so years<br>
ago I did a quick report on which
nations had the most "land"<br>
by terms of maps. So this is
at the bottom of the report.<br>
So who has the most land?
Cerulean Empire with 7 maps :)<br>
<br>
Note: The first chart is strictly from the
culture book. The<br>
bottom reports are from the map
book. There could be a<br>
error in matching data since I did
the top recently and bottom<br>
years ago. I checked but I
could've looked over something.<br>
<br>
Culally.txt - Allies & Enemies<br>
<br>
* Allies & Enemies: Simple report that shows
each nation and their<br>
allies or enemies in two
parts.<br>
<br>
Culpop.txt - Population & Military info<br>
<br>
* Population Report: Just shows the total
population of each nation.<br>
Good for campaign structure and
comparison. Where applicable<br>
I've put some notes to the side to
show further breakdown.<br>
<br>
* Military Report: Shows breakdown of each
nation and their military<br>
forces. If a nation had any
its listed. The footman may be<br>
elite and regular mixed in as well
as other forces. I don't<br>
differentiate the difference
here. Naval power I recently saw<br>
the formula reading about the Sea of
Tears so used it. <br>
<br>
Cullang.txt - Languages<br>
<br>
* National languages: Basically same data in the
Language section<br>
broken down in chunks.<br>
<br>
* Human languages: The linguistic families found
in the back of the<br>
culture book.<br>
<br>
Culbc.txt - Basic Characteristics<br>
<br>
* Basic characteristics: This first report shows
only the height,<br>
weight and ancestory of the
nation. It may include typical<br>
appearance as well. Format may
be hard for some to read but<br>
you can edit it to space each
culture if needed.<br>
<br>
* Common weapons: Just the nation and common
weapons used. Good<br>
for quick lookup of npcs.<br>
<br>
* Common wear/armor: Common armor or equipment
that the nation may<br>
use at any time.<br>
<br>
Culsum.txt - Culture book summary<br>
<br>
* Summary: This is just one big file of the same
informatino in the<br>
culture book. But its in my
words and my version. It covers<br>
the same data and info but more
compacter. In fact the scanned<br>
culture book file I got from burton
is 470k. This file is 25%<br>
of that size. Because of the
size however, I'll only include<br>
a sample. Its up to Wout if he
thinks its worthy to keep on<br>
the website for download.
Since it is my words its his choice<br>
as it may not be useful to
many.<br>
<br>
Cultime.txt - Timelines<br>
<br>
* Calendars: This is just a quick iew of
national calendars. The<br>
current year and which calendar is
used.<br>
<br>
* Individual timelines: This section contains
individual timelines<br>
for each culture. If there was
an event in the culture it<br>
is listed here. All dates
converted to Salaqi calendar.<br>
OF all the antions 17 cultures have
no events.<br>
<br>
* Current Rulers: This could be (if wout wants)
to be put into<br>
a separate file. It is just
information on the current rulers<br>
of each nation if known. Many
rulers are listed. Might be<br>
useful if you want to interact on a
political level.<br>
<br>
* Master Timeline: I think this is a great
little aid for me<br>
personally. It has all the
timelines into one master timeline.<br>
slightly edited to fit the
room. There are 1,171 lines of<br>
time events one per year. The
timeline ranges from -5219 to<br>
8 years in the future 1108. If
you want to plan a campaign<br>
around some event this might help
you. For those who like<br>
time travel to certain events this
could be tempting. :)<br>
I hope its useful for you
guys.<br>
<br>
Culmagic.txt - Magic/Slavery<br>
<br>
* This is why I did this whole project. It
lists each nation and<br>
how their personality fits the other
parts of the world.<br>
A) Magic: If the culture allows or
tolerates or hates magic.<br>
If they tolerate
it then it can be done in public if they<br>
hate it then I'd
not use it. Neutral is ify.<br>
B) Non-humans: This is mainly
oriented to Elf and Faerry. Though<br>
I could see where
it could be expanded. I mainly wanted a<br>
chart of cultures
who tolerated these races.<br>
C) Slavery: Straight-forward.
Usually it said outright it tolerated<br>
slavery.
Some guesswork in a couple nations but generally<br>
factual.<br>
D) Outsiders: How well the culture
deals with outsiders and<br>
strangers. A
bit subjective.<br>
<br>
Culcal.txt - Calendar file<br>
<br>
* Calendar table: List of calendars for each
nation, current year<br>
and origin of the calendar.
<br>

<br>
Questions for Richard:<br>
<br>
1) Map Data<br>
Query: The land of Lemasa is how far
from the Eastern Lands<br>
(Fomorian)? Map 23 and Map 1.
Yet if I look at the map layout<br>
there are two X's between them which seems
to implies there<br>
are 2 complete ocean map zones. Or
are they side by side?<br>
<br>
2) Katai fleet: See comments section #3<br>
<br>
3) Languages: In my copy of the culture book the Language
section t<br>
the back of the book for Fomorian
family. It says Formorian<br>
as it is spelled there. Is that
correct?<br>
<br>
4) Check out comments 14. B.<br>
<br>
-------------------------------------------------------<br>
<br>
Comments:<br>
<br>
1) Population: Gee. I wonder how many people there are
in the<br>
entire globe? Anyone want to crunch
the numbers :)<br>
<br>
2) Military: Doing this report was fun. I might even
create a<br>
mass combat program and using the data to
see which nation<br>
would come on top if all fought each
other. I know big<br>
dreams. Nice to see which military
is the strongest and who<br>
has the best fleet :).Looks like Chunrey,
very surprising,<br>
has the biggest infantry force.
Who'd have thought that?<br>
The biggests naval powers are Clima and
Fomoria by a single<br>
nation with 200 naval power both.
Course together the Fomorian<br>
Empire is almost 4 times bigger than any
other single fleet.<br>
Would be scary to see them unite!<br>
<br>
3) Katai military: Katai was alot of data. I hope the
military figures<br>
are accurate. ALSO the fleet.
The data as far as I saw did not<br>
break down the fleet well. Which of
the 80 are Trireme size?<br>
<br>
4) Ticasi fleet? Hah! Scholars with a fleet. But
on second thought<br>
it does say fishing fleet. But for
awhile it was funny :)<br>
<br>
5) Goidan: Bards in the religion as a centerpiece.
That is fascinating.<br>
I always pictured a Classic Bard.
One who sings, dances and<br>
entertains. But one involved in
religion is just interesting.<br>
Richard, where did you get this
idea?<br>
<br>
6) Did notice a few minor errors in the culture book as far
as wordage.<br>
But I lost that info :<. Course
I'm one to speak with my errors :)<br>
Doing the big summary file I had a few of
my own :). Course I<br>
was typing it at work and on breaks.
:)<br>
<br>
7) Ma'helas: Noticed a odd date error in the Ma'helas.
But my note I<br>
jotted down only mentions 136 to
132? Unfournately don't have<br>
the culture book here (at work now) so
cna't look it up to tell<br>
what i meant. :<<br>
<br>
8) The Izza: The Izza has no economy section. Is this
a mistake<br>
in my book? :)<br>
<br>
9) Aredan: Says they are Icy to strangers yet warm. So
I was<br>
conflicted for the culmagic.txt
file. I put them down as<br>
NS (neutral but suspicious) for
strangers/outsiders.<br>
<br>
10) Humagi- Wow. Felons given to the women. I
hate to be a felon<br>
there :)<br>
<br>
11) Kameran: Secret unworldy castle - Has anyone used this in a
game<br>
and tried to play in/near it?<br>
<br>
12) Rogizini Empire - Personality says they fear missile weapons
yet<br>
common weapons for this nation is a
bow? Help!?<br>
<br>
13) Timeline info:<br>
* Top calendar file and master calendar
file is going to be tweaked<br>
a bit. Since some of it
may be a bit off. I'm 99% sure its<br>
accurate at this point but
gotta double check a few things.<br>
* Master timeline: When I started this I
didn't realize there was<br>
needing more room.
Theres a space between the year and the eent.<br>
It could've been removed
giving more info for the event. Sigh.<br>
Oh well. Too late.
I edited it all to fit on one line though.<br>
<br>
14) National history:<br>
A) Bhamotin<br>
**
239-311 Three generations of peace<br>
I guessed this range on
the term of 'generation' (25 years?)<br>
B) Caldo<br>
**339-730 Given Dagger and the Jewel by Kril Schrandaor
Dwarves<br>
Richard is there an
exact date these events occur when the<br>
Dagger and Jewel are
given?<br>
C) Confederation of Shanda<br>
**0-306 Shandans fight among themslves<br>
**306 Colonization of Xan and Musira
by fomorians<br>
**306-400
Coalition formed between Shanda, Perda, and Sheriani<br>
**306-400
Coalition formed between Sherlani and Gholani<br>
[Those are estimated
from reading between the lines and guessing]<br>
If you guys think these
should be modified let me know.<br>
D) Gom: Generally some dates may be wrong
in theory but look good.<br>
E) Ja'xon: A confusing history to
me. Hope its acceptable.<br>
F) Katai: Man what a history! May
want to confirm those too.<br>
<br>
15) Zarun- Nilgeranthrib. I don't have tower of dead.
Can someone<br>
supply more accurate dates for his
rampages? If not the history<br>
can stand.<br>
<br>
16) Novarask - is that the infamous empire del'nord? If not
then<br>
my curiousity is killing me. Richard
type up info on del'nord<br>
since its in many cultures :)<br>
<br>
17) Culmagic.txt: This report is the most subjective of them
all.<br>
It could be debated but this is what I
gleamed from the culture<br>
data. <br>
<br>
a) Kirazan: It mentions in the history it
goes from no slavery<br>
then slavery back.
So I hope the report on slavery is right.<br>
B) Non-humans: Mainly oriented for
elf/faerry.<br>
<br>
18) Calendars: I did this file last. I hope its
workable. It seems<br>
like I may be missing a calendar or
two. Course while editing<br>
the file I had some cut/paste
problems. So wouldn't surprise me<br>
I deleted a few lines :<<br>
