The requirement to cast the spell in Sidh is a way of compensating for the deficit . An EmB of three, by this rule, would mean sufficient understanding of sidh magics not to need the extra aid to use the magics, but that the little extras would still help, same as any other sort of spell.

As to partial success, well, if you made mistakes in the incantation, you'd hardly expect the bonuses for getting it right (although, given the skill point rules, you'd know where and how you erred and learn a bit from your mistake). However, I would think a partial success *and* an EmB of less than 3 would mean spell failure.

The main difference of the EmB for sidh magic in V2, compared to all other sorts of magic would imply that sidh magics are as much artistry as science (or sheer skill, if you prefer). On the converse, it would also imply that most other sorts of magic, including the even older Elder sort, would be more science in that there is so much less innate ability involved with them (just level top out based on attribute, not effect).

<akoponen@mosquitonet.com><pnp@abroere.xs4all.nl>
Back in v1 using the Supernatural Tongue that the spell is magically
potent in would give an increase in EL by 1 and a 20% decrease in
casting cost. Is that still the case with Sidh magics? Is it cumulative
with the new Power Potential rule? Is it cumulative despite the rule

indicate a partial success that just casts the spell without the
