From Chion: [Re:
Actions]
GM: This may seem
erratic it was in direct reply format to
my comments
from last email. So Chion is replying to
me in answer
format. But I don't repeat the original
comments
from me here. To save space.
Chion:
"The
Time Travel plan. Here are some logistics to consider.
NO. Chion
was not planning on jumping back until a WEEK FROM
NOW, to get
back to NOW. He was NOT planning on doing TT back
to two weeks
ago.
I could
swear he studied the area outside in order to T-port
if needed in
one of the earlier posts... down by the water...

Why would he
have to run anywhere? If he can t-port outside
to the place
by the shore? And WHY would he teleport to any
other time
OTHER than when he teleports OUT right this phase?
He was
attempting to make his leaving and "re-entry"
transparent
to the party.

Actually, I
thought NO patrols were in the area due to the
ceremony,
city status (lock down), et al. I think his survival
EL is fairly
high for this sort of place, but maybe I'm wrong?

That's not
too horrible all things considered. Figure he can
subtract any
survival from the rolls and he might be looking
at a few
creature encounters...? We already discussed his
options for
"sleeping" and such.

Actually, IF
he double heals the first few days then the last
three or
four he can do a "rest only" mana heal and double his
mana
regen... which would be better.

I'm guessing
that AFTER we win we will leave (by boat), not
go exploring
the mountainside. Chion certainly would vote
for taking
one of the ships in order to not meet himself later.

Again, not
going into the past...
Waiting
until the future and then returning to the PAST which
is ACTUALLY
the PRESENT in order to continue right where we
are, without
incident...
That was the
plan anyway.

He wants
to:
Teleport
OUTSIDE.
HEAL FOR A WEEK.
TIME TRAVEL
BACK TO NOW. Teleport INSIDE.
DONE.
FINITO. NO MAS.
GM: Ok. Now
that's cleared up a bit. Let's tackle a few
of the
points one by one. Scouting, was done outside
on the sea
side with the rowobat and you only found
sheer cliff
faces. Plus it was night time and the scouting
is based on
outlines and such. Theres no ledge to t-port
to and just
sit there for awhile. Patrols, yes there
would be
heavy patrols once the party leaves (see below).
Teleport
outside: Ok. You can go north to mountains and
probably become one with rock. Going south you could
do the same but less of a chance since the terrain
is erratic or could end up in the prison. Going east
you don't know how high you are to estimate a good
jump and you would likely fall upwards of 10-800 feet
depending on some rolls. That's not a good thing. You
never actually saw the east side of the mountain so you
are unsure how thick the mountain is and if there are
other mountains/hills. So your best chance? West.
To the ocean. But there would still be a slight bit
of a drop since your not sure how high you are. If
you guess the sea is 510 feet you could end up 10 feet
under the water. So its pure guesswork. Not to
mention getting back to shore and avoiding those Red
Sharks. Not good. This is why your best chance of
survival is not to teleport but to run the 15 min
to the outside.
Heal for a
week: Doable. Course as your sitting outside
for the NEXT 7 days the party will be done with
the next room, packed up and left within probably
8-10 hours from now. By a week they'll likely
(assume they all live) be home or halfway home. So
you would be alone on a island swarming with angry
Climans who had their base destroyed. Patrols would
likely be doubled to find the enemy to ensure they
are not on the island. The terrain is not one to
do much hiding since there are just boulders and
bushes (no trees). So creatures and upwards of
14 possible (day/night) encounters would be a factor.
Time travel
back: No problem there. Course since you
don't have a digital clock the exact time would be
guesswork. Come too soon you could find yourself
surrounded by Climans while the others are on level 5.
Come too late and the party is packing up. Course
this isn't a big deal since you could use magical
timing :).
Teleport
inside: Much better chance since you know the
layout more or less. Course you pray that no one
is standing in that EXACT spot your trying to
teleport in. I'd hate to think of your present
self t-porting into your future self. That
would not be pretty.
My basic
point is time travel is fraught with danger.
For the
benefit of extra mana and hit points is it
worth
it? Especially when you saw the healing the
others can
do for you in the last update. Finally,
in order to
spend that 'week' of healing the game will
have to move
ON a week. thus the party will finish
the combat
either way and be almost home. THEN when
that
timeline is resolved your deal can come in. This
would rewind
things back to the present room/area.
But two
timelines would be resolved. For the players
they would
likely be halfway home. But if you coming
back have
fate turn out differently the party could
all be
slaughtered and that timeline would be gone.
Not
good. Fate is one thing you may have noticed I
do a great
deal in this game. Heres something with
a Paradox
issue. The party is halfway home and you
are
captured. Tortured. The climans learn of the
location and
future ambush. Plan their own ambush.
Suddenly
those people halfway home poof and are slain
in the
past. I'd don't think the party would
appreciate
that. Time travel is something that can
be good and
bad. In this case it could be more dangerous.
I forsee
time travel to help prevent things on a 3rd
person
event. Ie. Your king is about to be assinated
so you go
back and warn his guard 3rd person but do
not get
invovled. Then the timeline continues and
the king is
saved. No paradox. course then theres
the dual
being problem. Chion 1 and Chion 2. How
would you
deal with that? There could be 2 of you
in one place
when you pop back in. Some believe if
two of you
exist and touch the universe explodes. :)
But on a
minor note so you have 2 chion. Great.
But if Chion
past gets killed later on Chion Future
also
dies. You'd have to babysit yourself greatly :)
Alex, Wout
how do you guys handle time travel in these
situations
are 2 beings created?

Basically
what I'm saying is your plan is doable. Is
it
wise. As GM I say no. The risk of death, encounters
and such is
too great. Paradox and Fate. So if you
still want
to do it in a few updates when the party
is at the
week part we can still do it. I can log
all current
character sheets (damage wise and experience).
That way
when you go back we replay the entire week back
over
again. Just with you fully healed and possible
new fate
situations in the travel home.

Why not just
jump you back in as if the week occured? Can't
Its that
chicken and the egg thing. Can't resolve one
event
without resolving the other. Just how time works.
----------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------
From Jordi: [Re:
Actions
Just before
returning to the main group, Jordi explains
something
more to Neva:
"Remember, Sava has been prisioner of the monster for
centuries, and she knows it. All her family and friends
are
dead, and she knows it. She needs a lot of help.
And WE
are going to help her."
Jordi is a
little bit sad when Neva's hug ends, but he knows
that there
are a lot of things to do before the group can
leave the
nasty island.

He walks
directly to princess Sava, after being sure that
Neva follows
him, and places himself in a position where he
can see the
faces of both women:

"Princess
Sava, I usually stay in the front of the group,
fighting
Climans with melee weapons; Neva is an excellent
archer, and
she remains in the back of the group, using her
bow.
So, it will be best for you if you remain near her;
also, she
can explain you everything you need to know about
what we are
doing here, who are the rest of the party
members,
etc..."

Jordi studies the
reactions of both women with interest, but
trying to hide
it...
(OOC: I had
expected a lot of things when I joined the game,
but not this
kind of situation... one of my characters in a
triangle...
).

Inmediately, Jordi
goes were Ben'dar is:
"It will be
better to tie him, and let him live. If we have
enough time
later, we can save him and take him with us; he
can later be
exchanged for one of your brothers held by the
climans. Also, killing him won't be honorable."
Jordi
realizes that the last words can be taken as an insult,
and keeps
speaking:

"By the
way, and speaking of more important things, keep my
spear
some more time. If you discover later that it doesn't
fit
your needs, you will be able to use my spear; and I don't
need
it."

Jordi
listens the discussion about time travel without saying
a
word.
"Remember, Chion, that I can heal you if you wish; also,
Princess Sava can also heal you; he healed me, so I imagine
that
she can do the same with you."

He turns his
attention to the whole group; he looks to Neva and
Sava (are
they together? do they seem to ignore each other?)
and then
begins to speak again:
"We have to
end what he have started. We have to kill the evil
climan
priests. And we have a door to explore... so, let's go,
friends."

Jordi prepares
himself to assault the door that leads to the
rest of the
complex... this time, with melee weapons.
(I preferred to
make him shoot in the previous combat because
he was
wounded...).

GM: Ack.
[Re: Sava
prisoner time]
[Neva looks
over at Sava and frowns.]
Neva:
"that's so sad. Maybe she still has family left."
[Re:
Comments to Sava]
Sava:
"Right. I have no offensive spells. I can fight
with a dagger. But I'll remain back with her. I
may not go further than that." [She looks at Neva
and smiles] "I'm sure we'll become close friends."
----------------------------------------------------------

From Ben'dar: [Re:
Actions]
Yes, I
had a feeling someone would stop Ben'dar from slaying
that
guard. Thanks, I didn't really want Ben'dar to murder
that
guard, but felt it was the appropriate action, given
Ben'dar's harsh upbringing as a barbarian warrior and his
anger
and frustration at his prisoner/sacrifice ordeal. :-)

In
response to Caladan & Jordi (also Aren and Xian indirectly):

Ben'dar immediately moves his dagger away from the unconscious
guard's throat and stands up with a perplexed look on his face.
Ben'dar says slowly, choosing his words carefully, "The
warriors
of the
Fel'oros tribe are taught from a very young age to show no
mercy
to an enemy, whether that enemy is conscious or not. We
believe there is no dishonor in a clean death at the hands of
an
enemy who has prevailed in combat. But... there is wisdom
in
your words, my friends. I will think about what you have
said."

He
accepts Jordi's offered spear for the second time,
recognizing the gesture of reconciliation for what it is.
He
smiles and nods to Jordi, and holding the Elf spear firmly i
n one
hand, he tosses the pike aside.

To be
honest, Ben'dar is privately not sure at all of the
wisdom
of leaving an enemy alive behind them in this
dangerous, foreign place. It seems to him much safer and
simpler to kill all enemies cleanly, eliminating any
possible threat left behind.

But
Ben'dar shrugs, knowing that he is a barbarian, and
ignorant of the ways of civilized people. He is willing
to try
to learn these ways, as his friend Caladan has.
And
besides, he owes all his friends a great debt for his
rescue, so he will not disregard their will in this matter.

Ben'dar quickly scavenges some rope or cloth and he binds
the
unconscious guard's hands and feet very securely, so
that
when the guard awakes, he will pose no threat to the
group.

On
moving forward... Ben'dar will continue to take direction
from
the other warriors in the party, with Jordi's spear at
the
ready.
GM: Ack. I
understand where you came from with the dagger.
The guard is
out for some time so he'll not be a concern.
----------------------------------------------------------

From Z'leyra: [Re:
Actions]
Z'leyra discourages the idea of time traveling "Unless
you
are expert, time travel should not be done near places
where
it might change the future. It is tricky and dangerous.
I
suggest you wait for when you get to some deserted place."

Z'leyra suggests that she use her healing skill on the
wounded before anyone casts a healing spell on them so as
to
maximise the recovery. Of course if death is imminent
then
don't wait for her healing skill.

Z'leyra has a longbow and quiver of arrows she could loan
to
someone if they want it.

Z'leyra replies to Sava "Yes, my mother taught me the ways
of the
shaman. I am a skilled healer."
GM: Ack. For
Jordi/Z'leyra. Just a note. Technically chion
has not
talked about the time travel openly. Its more
a OOC thing
so no dialogue is really usable here.

---------------------------Actions---------------------------

Time: Estimated 7:17am-7:32am
- Morning Day 22

[Healing]

[Thig takes the chance and heals himself
again. Innate spell
he heals 7 points. Making him
now down only 6 going from 50%
down to 23% damage.]

[Caladan askss Sava to heal him since he
knows in the past hes
withstand many multiple daily
healings. First spell fails.
The next 3 doesn't even phase him
death wise and heals the
14 points fully. He is now at
100% strength.]
Caladan: "Thanks. Much
better!"
GM: Nice to have a high con.

[Sava heals Cholan and heals the 3 points
he has. Making
him at 100% strength now.]

[Sava heals Suresh after he relents and
takes the risk.
But she is only able to heal 1
point. He still has a 4
point wound. He doesn't take
another dose.]

GM: Now theres 3 others who can be
healed:
Jordi down 3 points.
Next healing chance no death chance.
Automatic
success. Next two healing would give you
a 99 and 96 chance
(ie only 1 and 4% chance of death).
Good odds and you
would likely be healed by first or
second dos? to
100%. Do you?

Unali: Your down only 3 and
you could take 3 doses with
automatic no death
chance (0%). Want the free healing?

Z'leyra: Down 2 and you can
take up to 4 free healing chances
due to your
stats. Want it?

I outlined Chion's chances in
previous update.

This would leave Farseeker and
Triest the most heavilly
hurt of the group.
---------------------------------------------------------------

[Farseeker examines the plate mails and
finds them in good
shape except for a couple arrow
holes. Still good protection.]
Farseeker: "I might take one of these
mail for myself. Anyone
want the other suit? Its
far better than chainmail."

Aren: "Ok. Are we ready for the
next room?"

Farseeker: "Let's organize
this. Thig can you enter first
and sense magic for us and
warn us?"
Thig: "Yes. I can go
invisible. Depending on the height
of the cave I'll hover over
you guys so I don't get
hit by missile fire. If
I sense magic I'll warn ahead
of time if its in my
range. If the ceiling isn't high
then don't fire until i get
out of the way. I'll yell
when I am out of the
way."

Farseeker: "Ok. First line of
attack. Of this group I'm
still probably the best
fighter. Kassha as well. We'll
head in first. [Kasha
nods]. Then you guys can follow
in as the melee group of
Suresh, Aren, Amin, Dax, Wi, Ris,
Shah, Z'leyra, Jordi.
Jordi and Z'leyra you guys should
protect with your shields the
diplomats if its a heavy fight.
then the archers can join in
on th eback line and fire
when they get a chance.
Caladan, Unali, Xian, Neva,
Triest and Thig.
Opps. Ben'dar can join up front with
us since hes not
hurt."

Farseeker Ben'dar Kasha
Suresh
Amin Dax Shah Wi Ris Aren
Z'leyra
Jordi
Thig
Unali
Caladan Xian NEva
Triest

GM: This of course assumes everyone can
enter quickly. The
best tactic is to enter the
room and setup positions as
roughly as above. The
archers will have to gain a chance
to hit but they are safer
behind the others.

Unali rather go with Elven Bow
or Sling or go melee with
Metal shield (or
both daggers)?
Caladan will sue Composite
bow.
Neva: Bow
TriesT: heavy Crossbow
Xian: Arbalest
Thig: Repeating Crossbow

GM: Movement will be slightly different
but if you guys agree
to the plan above this is how
in theory it will turn out.
Unless someeone has a better
plan?

Chion want to stay out of the
fight and slip away?

[As the party gathers and
discusses the plan and deals with
healing Xian suddenly
becomes white as a ghost. His
face pales and then he
looks at the door.]
Aren: "What's
wrong?"
Xian: "I just got a
message. Up here " [he points a finger
at his head]
"it said simply 'Just enter and be done with
this. Your
brother awaits.'"
Aren: "Your
brother?"
Xian: "Timon.
Yes. Remember if he is in there he's mine."
Thig: "So someone in
there knows telepathy? Like I do?
If that's the case
they may be able to sense our minds
and our
numbers. They are likely prepared as we are."
Caladan: "Was the comment
one of confidence? As if they
expect to
win?"
Xian: "No..well..yes..as
if they know they ALREADY have won.
But more of a
waiting for us to act. Confident yet smug
about it.
May be overconfident. Maybe I should just
enter alone?
See what we are up against?"
Farseeker: "Too
dangerous. You lost your war staff in
the other
hallway. Your only weapon is the Arbalest
and the
daggers. You wouldn't survive. We do this
together.
Right?" [He looks at everyone.]

GM: Plans? Comments?
Actions? If no other good plans
by friday we'll burst
into the door and see what is
in store. Direct
soemtimes is the only way to go.

Actions? Comments?
