Admin notes: Here is a bit of a situation.
I'm in Jacksonville<br>
Florida. That is the NE upper part of the
state (if you don't<br>
have a map). At this point the Eye of
Hurricane francis may<br>
pass to the south of us. But we'll be hit
with some effects of<br>
the Hurricane. However, if things change
and it turns we could<br>
be in serious trouble. This is just a note
to let you know that<br>
Monday's update may not come out if things go a
certain way. I<br>
talk to Alex in ICQ alot so if you want ot keep
tabs ask him<br>
by Tuesday if no update. Never know what
could happen to the<br>
house or more importantly the electricity which
could go out<br>
for a week in hurricane damage. So with
that said we'll hope<br>
to ahve a update on monday regular time.<br>

Jordi quickly
decides that his magic abilities are no match for<br>
the staff. There
are two options:<br>
a) The wall of
fire is an illusion. He isn't sure of the effect<br>
that an illusion of a wall of fire should have on his mist if<br>
he believed that it's real... damm, he lost the class where<br>
his mentor explained that...<br>
b) The wall of
fire isn't an illusion.<br>
<br>
So Jordi
concentrates in the wall of mist and tries to study it<br>
carefully to
decide if it's an illusion or not. If he decides<br>
that it's an
illusion, he will yell:<br>
"It's an
illusion!!" and will charge towards the bodyguard and<br>
the
priestess. If he decides that it's real, he moves the mist<br>
a little bit
back (so if someone cross the mist he/she can see<br>
the wall of
fire in time to avoid being injured) and attacks<br>
the guard in
the mist...<br>
<br>
If Jordi
sees someone moving towards the fire wall too across<br>
the mist,
and Jordi believes that he/she won't have the needed<br>
time/space
to avoid the firewall, Jordi will warn he/she (losing<br>
his chance
of ambushing the guard...)<br>
<br>
GM: After a brief email reply
to the above Jordi redoes actions.<br>

AAAARRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!! I believed that the wall of fire was<br>
just negated
for a moment, and then, returned to "full" effect.<br>
Okey, change
Jordi's actions:<br>

Seeing that
the fire wall and his mist spell seem to negate<br>
each other,
Jordi quickly decides that the greatest danger are<br>
the
priestess and the staff -why the priestess can't use the<br>
staff?-, So,
hoping that his mist will continue to negate the<br>
fire wall
effect, he charges forward, hoping to open a hole<br>
in the wall
that allows the party to reach both climans -and<br>
hopefully,
kill them-.<br>
<br>
Jordi's idea
is to envelop both of them with the remmants of<br>
his mist, so
they won't be able to cast more offensive magic<br>
on the
party.<br>

Not seeing a
clear target, and the priestess blocked from view<br>
by the mist,
Unali believes there are enough fighters near<br>
guards 1 and
2, and she moves forward, trying to bring the<br>
pillar near
E1 between her and the priestess. don't expect<br>
her to have
a target this phase, but we will see what happens.<br>
GM: Ack. As to the other
part of your last email. The answer<br>
is pretty much
yes. Not sure if you got the email reply.<br>

Actions]<br>
As Guard #4
slumps down and Ben'Dar rips out the spear, he is<br>
startled by
the lack of any blood. Ben'Dar is relatively<br>
inexperienced in real combat (training is one thing...but<br>
killing
people is still fairly new to him). However, even to<br>
his
inexperienced eyes, something suspicious is going on here.<br>
He
wonders.... "Are these guards human? Are they
living<br>
people or
some sort of magical constructs?" I suppose it is<br>
impossible
to tell in the heat of battle, and these thoughts<br>
are just
fleeting flashes in Ben'Dar's brain as he is already<br>
moving on to
the next foe...<br>
<br>
He whirls to
his right (facing north) and rushes at full speed<br>
along the
East wall past the people attacking Guard #1, staying<br>
in between
the line of our guys and the wall. If the mist<br>
dissipates
or moves and he sees Cholan and Guard #2 when he<br>
gets
there....he will come around to the North-East of Cholan to<br>
spear Guard
#2 from the side (G5). However, more than likely<br>
the mist
will still be in place, so Ben'Dar won't be able to<br>
see Guard #2
when he gets to that point. If that's the case,<br>
he will
continue North to C5 or B5, looking for an opening in<br>
the flames
to charge in and take out that Bodyguard from the<br>
side.<br>

the gem but continues to see the glow of the gem<br>
on his

to the third pillar to burn the green stripe<br>
there
on the NW pillar. 3 down and 1 to go.]<br>

[Farseeker
heads into the center line of hexes and looks for<br>
a
target. He finds one guard is surrounded and fighting<br>
that
target would be redudant.]<br>
<br>
[Triest
leaves the body of guard #4 and joins alongside<br>
Farseeker looking at the wall of flames.]<br>
<br>
[Unali heads
north toward the pillar where Thig is near<br>
at
E1. The wall of flames lick at the NE section of the<br>
pillar
but does not overcome it. The mist also hits the<br>
SE
portion of the pillar making it a bit ghostly at times<br>
in its
viewing. She ends up about 12 feet from the pillar.]<br>
<br>
[The
Bodyguard turns hearing Xian cast his spell and sees<br>
Xian
behind the throne. He quickly swings the mighty staff<br>
edge
toward Xian and smacks Xian in the right shoulder and<br>
knocks
him backward and to the NE section of the throne<br>
to the
back wall. Xian loses his breath for a second and<br>
realizes he is close to the wall of flames..]<br>
<br>
[Ben'dar
heads north seeing one guard surrounded by 5 and<br>
crowded in. He sees a large area of mist to the north of<br>
them
where Cholan should be but sees no guard. He continues<br>
along
the wall northward.]<br>
<br>
[Caladan
heads north about 30 feet and nears Farseeker.]<br>
<br>
[The
Priestess suddenly sees the wall of flame turn into steam<br>
as
mist meets lire and almost negates itself in that area.<br>
She
then sees mist behind it but does not see anyone. She<br>
though
grins knowing it has to be magic and someone must<br>
be int
he general area. She readies herself calmly. She<br>
glances over her shoulder at the attack on Xian.]<br>
<br>
[Chion finds
himself swamped in a thick mist that gives him<br>
no
visibility. He shoulders the crossbow and grabs his<br>
sai. Being a shorter weapon he swings wildly knowing the<br>
guard
should be in front of him. He hears a impact of<br>
metal
on metal but is not sure of any damage or results.]<br>
<br>
[Wi leaves
the dead dog and crosses in front of Farseeker<br>
and
ends up near Caladan watching the flames.]<br>
<br>
[Kasha
swings Mace again at Guard #1 and hits again for<br>
a
heavy impale on the armor doing 10 points of damage<br>
as the
blade does penetration damag eof 5 more. With the<br>
2
points he just did last phase the guard falls to the<br>
ground.]<br>
<br>
[Cholan
swings his axe wildly in the mist at where he hopes<br>
the
guard is but misses..]<br>
<br>
[Z'leyra
sees the guard fall and heads along the wall toward<br>
the
north ending at F5.]<br>
<br>
[Jordi sees
steam form quickly in the area (hex) in front<br>
of
him. The bright flames quickly are doused by the<br>
cold
mist but they soon negate each other. Now even Jordi<br>
loses
his advantage of seeing through the mist as it becomes<br>
full
steam. But this would also affect the others. The<br>
magical affect of him seeing in the mist holds a bit better<br>
though
and he moves forward the 11 feet then sees the<br>
form o
the Priestess. he knows what occured with a arrow<br>
that
was shot at him during the initial attack. He saw<br>
it
slip down. She must have some defense. Jordi decides<br>
to
pass the Priestess and finds the bodyguard 2 feet behind<br>
her. With back turned to the Priestess and his right side<br>
to
Jordi looking at something behind the throne. Jordi<br>
doesn't quite discover what as he moves too quickly and<br>
the
steam has clouded some view. As Jordi moved forward<br>
the
mist to the RIGHT and LEFT hexes Jordi [C2/C4] are<br>
also
negated and forms MORE steam as Jordi moves one hex<br>
further north. The flames are doused but the mist is also<br>
destroyed causing great sheets of sheam. As Jordi turns<br>
the
hex of mist BEHIND jordi turns with him and thus<br>
negates the flames in Hex A/B4 where Xian is. Xian becomes<br>
engulfed in steam. With shield in left hand toward the<br>
Priestess and Sword in right he swings at the Bodyguard<br>
and
hits him with a slicing blow doing 4 points of damage<br>
past
the chainmail. Jordi's eyes begin to water from the<br>
steam...]<br>
<br>
[Suresh
moves forward northward and ends up near Unali.]<br>
<br>
[Ris leaves
guard #1 and now that the mist has left the hex<br>
with
guard #2 he charges the 11 feet toward them and thrusts<br>
his
sword but fails to hit the guard.]<br>
<br>
[Xian wipes
his eyes from the heat and now the cold steam<br>
of the
mist and grabs a dagger. He reaches for the throne<br>
to
stand but can't fight it right away. After a second<br>
he
stands up.]<br>
<br>
[Amin heads
northward and attacks Guard #2 and the sword<br>
impacts into the heavy plate doing an imprresive 15 points<br>
of
damage which makes the guard fall.]<br>
<br>
[Dax joins
behind Caladan and Wi.]<br>
<br>
[Aren
watches the situation and wonders what to do from his<br>
position.]<br>
<br>
[Neva helps
Sava up and they both watch the distant fire,<br>
mist
and now steam form.]<br>

Actions for phase 1 Turn 2?<br>
<br>
Situation: All guards and Dog dead. Only remains
is Bodyguard<br>
and Priestess. But with their help
gone they might get desperate.<br>
<br>
Jordi's Cocnealing Mist is effectively gone. All
the 6 hexes<br>
around Jordi has been negated by the fire. But
in doing so it<br>
has wiped out 5 hexes of Fire as well. The above
mini map shows<br>
the Steam (S on map). The fire is effectively in
hex A/B2 only<br>
with a minor flicker of flames in C2. So
effectively the West<br>
side of the bodyguard is engulfed in flames. The
steam may<br>
take a phase or two to dissolve. At this point
its not concealing<br>
mist but it is thick steam which effectively causes
visibility of<br>
the party THROUGH It to not see anything. Thus
the party can't<br>
see Xian, Bodyguard, Priestess and Jordi
fighting. The flames<br>
do cause many shadows and shapes. The steam is
uniform so it<br>
should take all the hexes of steam to dissolve at the
same time.<br>
<br>
Jordi you are about 3 feet from the Priestess to your
left. You<br>
are facing West. The bodyguard is facing NE with
his right to<br>
you. Keep in mind though you and him are in the
sam steam limits<br>
for vision.b Most folks will move 3 hexes next
phase. Also the<br>
steam won't dissolve until the END of the phast thus
next phase<br>
or the one after (have to roll for it). So keep
this in mind<br>
for actions. This means Jordi and Xian will have
alone time witht<br>
eh last 2 before help arrives for the next
phase.<br>
