Yeah. I actually posted an action for Ben'Dar to go<br>

and begin tracking/scouting after he had words with the<br>
elder,
a couple updates ago. :-) But anyway, yes, Ben'Dar<br>
is a
man of action and will definitely join Z'leyra for a<br>
high-speed chase!<br>
OOC 2: Have
a good vacation Scott.<br>

IC: Ben'Dar
looks up from the tracks and glances off to the<br>
East. To
Z'leyra, he says, "Two sets of tracks leading out<br>
from here, and we
just back-tracked one of them here from the<br>
west. So it
looks like they've all headed off together to the<br>
East?"
He looks at Z'leyra questioningly. Leaning back in his<br>
saddle, he twirls
his spear negligently in one hand. "Only 8<br>
of them
though. Hardly worth our trouble to ride after so<br>
few..." he
adds with a grin and a wink to Z'leyra. Ben'Dar<br>
slides easily off
of Tef'wo and walks around the abandoned<br>
gathering spot,
looking for any additional clues.<br>
GM: Ack. Well
originally I figured no one else was going and<br>
then based on a
later comment you changed your mind. Then<br>
talking to Alex in
ICQ (which I do nightly live) he was going<br>
to track so I
figured you two might as well go then. Guess<br>
I mis-understood
the actions originally. It was a good<br>
vacation!

[Ben'dar and Z'leyra
dismounts as the Eagle flies high above.<br>
Ben'dar and
Z'leyra make quick assessments then study further<br>
the tracks and
impressions. Its determined that the tracks<br>
both followed in
changed which indicates fresh horses likely<br>
were
exchanged. Ben'dar can almost tell the age of the horse<br>
by its impression
in the sand and its size. Fresh horses<br>
also means better
speed. Its clear the grave robbers have<br>
upwards of 3 hours
advance time. But these tracks leading<br>
westward are only
an hour or so old.<br>
<br>
Both stand up and
look around but see nothing for some distance.<br>
The winds have
continued and create a sand mist around some<br>
areas. While
Ben'dar's first guess is they all went east<br>
its found that
only 2 maybe 3 horses went that way. While<br>
the other large
group went west. Its hard to guess if the<br>
grave robbers went
east or west. But if one was to flee from<br>
pursuit it would
likely be eastward. While those heading<br>
westward may be a
distraction or an attack elsewhere.<br>
<br>
The eagle flies
low to the ground about 20 feet and circles.<br>
Z'leyra finds this
odd then she realizes what the bird is<br>
getting at.
Z'leyra notices not one sign of animals in the<br>
area from a bird
(aside from the eagle) to a rabbit. Its<br>
very quiet in the
area. The sun is now almost directly<br>
overhead
indicating noon is almost here. The robbers likely<br>
have up to 6-8
miles advance riding. While they have to<br>
just ride Z'leyra
and Ben'dar have to ride slower to track<br>
and not lose the
trail if its not already too late from the<br>
winds.
Z'leyra and Ben'dar mount as they determine the best<br>
plan is to follow
eastward and chase the grave robbers. Maybe<br>
those in the west
were other Zen'da not knowing the robbers<br>
or their
purpose. Z'leyra and Ben'dar ride off hoping to<br>
keep the tracks in
sight...]<br>
<br>
GM: I may have to stall
this tracking for a bit so the others<br>
can catch up
to the present time period. <br>
<br>

[Meanwhile somewhere in the
mountains to the east of<br>
Woundenal's Cabin Time:

[Chion suggests his
knock on the door approach.]<br>
<br>
Farseeker: "Just
might be bold enough. That way if you<br>
get killed
we know to take another approach. Go<br>
ahead."
[He grins]<br>
[Chion turns around and
keeps his semi serious face.]<br>
<br>
Xian: "We might
have to consider theres another alternative<br>
entrance
like a underground cave or something."<br>
Farseeker: "Well a
frontal assault could-"<br>
<br>
Caladan:
"Guys."<br>
<br>
Farseeker: "--be
danger--"<br>
Caladan:
"Guys! Look!" [Caladan points down to the valley.]<br>
<br>
[As the group turns and
stares down to where Caladan is<br>
pointing they
notice 3 horses with riders entering from<br>
the west side of
the valley. The group lowers down to<br>
hide their
standing positions from view. The riders<br>
are over 170-180
feet away and down the mountain. Its<br>
hard to get good
views but they are wearing dark desert<br>
like robes around
their bodies. Its obvious if they<br>
continue riding
they'll spot the castle which may or<br>
may not be their
destination.]<br>
<br>
Xian: "Are they
going to the castle?"<br>
Farseeker: "Could
they just be in the area by accident?"<br>
Caladan: "I don't
know. What should we do? It must<br>
be quick
though. When they turn the corner they'll<br>
be in sight
of the castle."<br>
<br>
GM: Horses are going
fast but a steady walk. They will<br>
round the
corner in 5-10 minutes maybe sooner. I've<br>
placed the 3
horses on the map. <br>
<br>

[Meanwhile at Zaka's village -
Location 6 miles south-east<br>
of Caladan's village.
Roughly 2.5 hour ride.<br>

10:55am]<br>

GM: Group will have
about 3 phases to pre-plan actions and<br>
spells so
theres good time to prepare. We'll start<br>
combat
actions from here.<br>
<br>
Turn -2 to 0:<br>
<br>
[Strie'bog
prepares magic and Thig loads his repeating<br>
crossbow with the last of the ammo at hand.]<br>
<br>
Turn 1: Phase 1<br>
<br>
[Missile
Fire -]<br>
<br>
[Thig aims at enemy #1 but the dart misses and goes south<br>
of the person completely.]<br>
<br>
[Strie'bog aims at enemy #1 as well. But his view is<br>
slightly blocked by Zaka's horse. He notices the<br>
enemy is attacking the female pre-teen near him. A<br>
vile act! He holds his legs to the horse for balance<br>
and fires his bow. The arrow flies out and hits the<br>
enemy in the upper left leg. The arrow penetrates<br>
deep into the leg. The wound itself does 6 points<br>
but the fire damage on impact does an additional 3<br>
points. The enemy gives a yelp of pain and a pain<br>
spasm makes him fall off the horse. He tries to roll<br>
but falls unconscious or dead. His leather pants<br>
are smoldering and may catch on fire..]<br>
<br>
[Enemy #4 hears the scream and looks up. He was about<br>
to fire on the adult female with his bow. But seeing<br>
a new threat to his band he raises his bow. He scans<br>
within 1 second and only sees Zaka and Strie'bog from<br>
the angle. The Tipi blocks view from others. He<br>
aims and fires. Strie'bog feels a arrow fly over his<br>
head but misses him completely.]<br>
<br>
[Melee &
Movement-]<br>
<br>
[Kasha energized by adrenaline is the first to enter<br>
the camp. His horse and training makes him fly<br>
through the people and beside the tipi with skill.<br>
He rides between 2 tipis, bypassing an adult female<br>
running close by and over a body. He charges right<br>
for enemy #4 who Kasha sees as a threat to the adult<br>
female near him. He swings slightly down and swings<br>
his mace at the enemy. The mace barely hits but does<br>
only from his horse and combat skills. The mace hits<br>
the enemy in the upper left arm shredding it doing 10<br>
points of damage. The rider's arm falls down releasing<br>
the bow which goes flying to the ground. The man<br>
jerks back in pain. But it must be his own willpower<br>
that is keeping him on the horse. Amazingly the rider<br>
is still on his horse.]<br>
<br>
[Trembyl's horse is next. While not as skilled as Kasha<br>
he goes south. Nervous he passes 2 Tipis and then<br>
turns east when he sees enemy #5. Trembyl is eager to<br>
use his new magical scimitar he got in Clima. The<br>
horse comes alongside and Trembyl thrusts and hits the<br>
rider in the left lower abdomen doing 8 points of damage.<br>
The rider lurches back in pain and falls off the horse<br>
and rolls in the dust. His scimitar goes flying away<br>
from him but somehow his lance is at reach. But the<br>
rider grabs his abdomen then collapses to the ground.]<br>
<br>
[Thig flies off his horse and over the first tipi.<br>
He scares female #1 and ends up 30 feet off the<br>
ground flying South-East.]<br>
<br>
[Balrog rides due south-east but does not get to<br>
a target this phase. He is now in the middle of<br>
the camp.]<br>
<br>
[Unali pulls out one dagger and rides east and<br>
south-east. Ending up near Balrog in the middle<br>
of the camp looking for targets.]<br>
<br>
[Zaka enraged at seeing his village attacks rides<br>
south-east. He aims for enemy #7 skillfully taking<br>
his horse between Kasha and Balrog's horses. As<br>
the enemy rider notices him Zaka's horse impacts<br>
against the rider's horse with a loud thump. But at<br>
the same instant Zaka with no weapon on him throws<br>
his old body right at the rider. Both men go flying<br>
over the enemy horse's back side. The enemy falls right<br>
onto the ground taking 3 points of damage. Zaka tumbles<br>
onto him and prepares to fight. This amazes Balrog,<br>
Trembyl, Kasha and Unali who saw the old elder do this<br>
something only a young one would dare risk.]<br>
<br>
[The horses that carried rider #1, 5 and 7 all flee the<br>
area and travel outside the camp. They don't flee<br>
the village itself being more trained. Just getting<br>
out of the confusion since they have no riders anymore.<br>
<br>
[Rider #2 sees Zaka and Rider #7 fall to the ground.<br>
Confused slightly he sees a change to trample Zaka<br>
as likely one of the elders. His horse raises up<br>
and then back down. Hooves stomp and hit Zaka doing<br>
2 points of damage to Zaka. But the attack backfires<br>
and hits #7 for 6 more points of damage.]<br>
<br>
[Rider #3 unaffected by those around him charges westward<br>
right toward the young female teenager running from him.<br>
The rider swings his scimitar at her but she ducks at<br>
the last instant and he misses.]<br>
<br>
[Rider #4 having been hurt by Kasha grabs his scimitar<br>
on the rope it hangs from. With his good right hand<br>
left he swings wildly since his left arm is virtually<br>
gone. The blow strikes and slices Kasha right on the<br>
shoulder doing 7 points of damage. Kasha winches in<br>
pain but is still on his horse.]<br>
<br>
[Rider #6 not seeing the others since his vision is blocked<br>
by the Tipi rounds the Tipi and heads for the male teen<br>
(5) adn elderly female (6). He swings his scimitar at<br>
the female and hits her doing a massive slice. The female<br>
screeches in pain.]<br>
<br>
[Enemy #7 who was just attacked by Zaka and the trample.<br>
Desperately fights for his life. Being totally inexperienced<br>
in combat he tries to wrestle Zaka but fails. But he<br>
head butts Zaka and does minor damage to Zaka.]<br>
GM: Poor Enemy #7 so green only had one kill in his life<br>
and that was a helpless target!<br>
<br>
[Strie'bog urges his horse forward toward the south-east.]<br>
<br>
[Strie'bog's wolf charges forward and joins his master's<br>
position. The Dogs join directly underneath Thig.]<br>
<br>
[The villagers now move. Female 1 scared by Thig and<br>
the dogs rushes into the nearby Tipi. Adult female 2<br>
runs due north scared by the fight to her south.<br>
The female teenager just attacked (3) runs west and<br>
dives into the nearby Tipi. Female teenager (4)<br>
runs due north nearby adult female (2).<br>
<br>
The male teenager (5) defends the elderly female and<br>
turns to attack the rider near him but only kicks<br>
the horse. The horse backs up in shock. This may<br>
give the kid only seconds though.] The elderly<br>
female (6) runs about 8 feet north but then stumbles<br>
in pain from her wounds and falls to the ground crying.<br>
The female teenager (7) turns and heads into the nearby<br>
Tipi. Female teenager (8) turns and sees the burning<br>
warrior that Strie'bog hit. She picks up and rock and<br>
bashes the warrior's head in twice. This kills the<br>
warrior.]<br>
<br>

[Thig looks for a target. While over everyone's heads<br>
he can't fire on most enemy as they are being engaged<br>
by other people so could be dangerous. He spies rider<br>
#3 along to the Southeast. He fires his crossbow between<br>
Trembyl and Unali and the dart hits the enemy in the left<br>
upper arm penetrating deep doing 6 points of damage. The<br>
dart must've hit a vital vein. The rider jerks back<br>
in pain...]<br>
<br>
[Strie'bog looks for a new target but many are also<br>
engaged so hard to hit them without hitting others.<br>
Rider #3 is due south which Thig just hit. But he<br>
could hit Unali. But theres a good 4 feet shot. He<br>
takes it and fires. The arrow flies south toward the<br>
rider but misses. It lands on the ground and sparks<br>
burning in seconds.]<br>
<br>
[Melee &
Movement-]<br>
<br>
[Kasha swings his magical mace and hits the rider #4<br>
again, this time on the right arm slicing the arm<br>
and throwing the rider almost back at Kasha. The<br>
rider is killed by the blow and dies before he<br>
hits the ground from the 10 point hit.]<br>
<br>
[Trembyl turns his horse around as his enemy #5 is<br>
on the ground. He spies #3 and charges the 20 feet<br>
to him. He swings his scimitar and hits the right<br>
leg slicing upwards and then into the lower abdomen<br>
doing 24 points in a severe hit. This kills the<br>
person before the blade stops moving.]<br>
<br>
[Balrog charges straight east for rider #6 who just<br>
attacked the elderly lady and now a teenage male.<br>
He swings his short sword wildy but misses clearly.]<br>
<br>
[Unali charges past the central fire pit and right<br>
for rider #2 near Zaka. She swings her horse left<br>
in a circle controlling the horse with one hand<br>
while plunging the dagger in the right hand right<br>
at the man's back side. It punctures through the<br>
back and hits the heart doing 20 points of damage.<br>
Before the dagger stops moving the man is killed<br>
instantly by the attack and falls to the ground taking<br>
with him Unali's dagger which was somewhat forced in.]<br>
GM: Easy to recover later but from force of blow and<br>
time to get it back ran out of time. Will have to<br>
get it later.<br>
<br>
[Rider #6 turns and thrusts at Balrog and hits him<br>
in the upper right chest and does 5 points of damage.]<br>
<br>
[Zaka tries to stand and staggers slightly but gets<br>
his strength as he slugs Rider #7 on the ground.<br>
The Rider falls back and doesn't move.]<br>
<br>
GM: At this point theres only 1 left active. Rider #6.<br>
I would stop here. But since likely it will end next<br>
phase will go ahead and finish it off.<br>

[Thig holds off firing at Rider #6 since bad shot.]<br>

[Kasha leaps over the enemy he just took out and charges<br>
forward to help Balrog. he comes along side and swings<br>
his mace. The mace impacts the rider's back doing 7<br>
points of damage throwing the rider forward against the<br>
horse's neck.]<br>
<br>
[Trembyl rides eastward past many and comes alongside<br>
Kasha. He swings his scimitar but misses.]<br>
<br>
[Thig flies toward rider #6.]<br>
<br>
[Balrog right by Rider #6 takes the hilt of his short<br>
sword and bashes the rider's skull doing 2 points<br>
of damage. The rider falls to the ground and doesn't<br>
move.]<br>
<br>
GM: Combat is over. No enemy seems to be moving.<br>
I'll do a supplement update likely tomorrow night<br>
to show who is alive, wounded and other reports<br>
of this combat. Then that'll let you guys figure<br>
out best actions like healing and such. <br>
