Game Update #76 in sequence (file #280]
----------------------------------------------------------------

Admin notes: Guys. I get alot of notices
in my email about
bounced emails or blocked emails. 99% of
these are pure spam
the list server (thank god) blocks. When I
erase these after
a bit I may by mistake delete valid ones.
I know recently one
of Chris's emails was bounced due to length and
I just happen to
notice it. This is the main reason I
number the updates and
file numbers for my sanity and your
records. You should always
get a update in some sequence. If this is
out of sequence consult
the website and/or me if there is a
problem. Thanks.
[Recap]

From Z'leyra: [Re:
Actions]
Z'leyra replies to
Ben'Dar "The people of the village
should appreciate
the horses. I will add in most of the
trade goods I
bought, keeping a bit of salt in case we need
to trade on the
chase. I have no objections to sharing in
the gold, we both
could use it in furthering our plans."

Z'leyra is ready
to cast the Tracking spell at 3 x mana cost,
first casting
Purification at max EL, both spells cast
through her staff.
She will cast (using batteries) as soon
as those following
the claw are ready. Except for the goods
given to the
village she will take all her stuff.
GM: Ack. See very bottom.

From Strie'bog: [Re:
Actions]
Strie'bog will
leave the wolf at the village.

Also, can you tell
me how long his "bless" spells have
before they
end?

Beyond this, I am
not sure if there is anything that
Strie'bog can do
to help track down the thieves, except
to bless the best
tracker. I was wondering if Bless could
be used to aid a
skill instead of OCV, DCV or a stat.
GM: Ack. Answers in
email.
[New Stuff]

------------------------------------------------------
[Pre-Chase]

GM: Before
leaving the village the following is given
as a back story and description of what may be
important or not important in the future. There
is a reason for doing this....

[Caladan
prepares his mount. the brown riding horse
has
been his for some time. He combs the horse down
and
pats it down with a nice massage as rider and mount
meld
together in a tight bond. As he does this he
debates in his head if he should take the firesnake
with
him or not. If the claw can control animals surely
it
could the red winged snake. On one side he knows the
snake
is deaf. Maybe the claw works through sound? But
if its
magic it might not matter. Very few can control
the
snake as it has a mind of its own and may not know
all
the hand signals needed. Caladan leaves his helmet
with
his father as he knows using a helmet in front of
the
warriors is not the best thing. He packs both his
warstaffs. One he places in a long sheath on the horse.
The
other the magical one with runes he used with lightning
he
carries in his hands at the ready or across his lap
balanced by rope. He places his composite bow and full
quiver
on his back. He dons his newly cleaned quilted
and
leather armor more for warmth than protection. Even
though
he is from this land his gloves, leather riding
jerkin, brown waist length cloak and black pants make him
look
more like a rider in a civilized hunting party. Lastly
he
dons the leather barding for his own horse. He knows
this
may be very useful in the future if not to give warmth
to the
horse as well. After a good 25 minutes of mental
anguish he makes his decision.]

[Turning to
his father, Ga'fel'ora's Ga'sha Gib'borah.]
Caladan:
"Father. This is very difficult for me. But
I must ask the snake remain here. We've been through
many adventures together. He has saved my life. He
saved Xian and Farseeker's life once as well. I can't
risk him being under the control of the claw. "
Gib'boarah:
"I was never good with him. What do you
intend to do?"
[Caladan
grabs the snake and strokes it. He goes to
his
bag and pulls out a small red scale. He enters
his
father's Tipi. He knows this is the largest place
in the
village for Tipi-wise. He places the snake on
the
ground in a far corner (though in a circle there
are
none but the corner where little is kept). He
then
speaks a few magical words while holding the scale.
He
then places a hand on the snake's head and casts
the
spell after saying "sleep friend". The snake falls
to the
ground and goes limp as it enters a deep sleep.]

[Caladan and
Gib'borah exit back outside.]
Caladan:
"He will sleep for a week. This should be
enough time for us to return I hope. The children
must not play near here within ten feet. There should
be no loud noises in the Tipi or the same area. This
will wake him. I know the children they will try to
touch it. They must not! Warn them they will also
fall asleep and may not wake. If he does wake early
find Xian. Xian was able at times to control him.
I hope."
Xian:
"Yes. Since I'm staying I can watch him. Of
course I learned the lesson of not picking him up
while it feeds. See this scar on my finger..."

----------------------

[Kasha
prepares his coal as black horse. For the chase
he
leaves nothing. He wears and places daggers of
all
sorts in strategic places on him and the horse. He
also
wears Quilted and Ring armor. Places his handle
sling
and projectile bag on his belt. For his main weapon
as
always he uses his magical mace sheathed to his side.
By now
the party has learned this free lance mercenary
isn't
the typical for hire. He acts as if he is hard
and
tough but deep down many have seen his softer side.
He has
been asked several times where he got his mace
over
the last few months but he never says. The only
thing
that is gathered is it is magical against Guardians
like
those of lairs and treasure lairs. Recently in the
last
few weeks Ben'dar learned more of Kasha by talking
about
his ranch. Seems Kasha has some moneylender type
skills. Ben'dar makes a mental note to talk to him later
on
about money for the ranch. Ben'dar wonders if Z'leyra
knows
of this skill since her plans require money. Another
interesting aspect the party learns recently is Kasha can
speak
six languages. Course mercs tend to speak many
languages for their survival...]

----------------------

[Ben'dar
prepares Tef'wo. Tef'wo's gem necklace sparkles
in the
campfire the night before the trip. Ben'dar decides
to
ride that night but only a couple miles from the village.
Theres
nothing like being in the cold night air with the
clouds
and stars above you and total quietness. It helps
form a
even better bond with Tef'wo. Up to this point
Ben'dar rode with other horses but not alone with Tef'wo.
As the
night fades below the horizon he looks to the setting
sun to
his distant lands. His distant home. His heart aches
for
home again to see familiar sights. Maybe when this
mess
is over....suddenly Tef'wo twirls around and faces the
other
direction back to the village. Ben'dar's mind is
jarred
back to the situation. Its as if Tef'wo knows what
Ben'dar is thinking? Ben'dar pats him on the neck and
gallops back to the village but still wondering whatever
is
going on back home....but then if the problems in this
side
of the plains are this bad it could come to his people.
Maybe
by being here he helps them now...and maybe just
maybe
he can return a hero or at least make his people
proud
of him?

The
next morning he prepares his gear for travel. While
he
does so he notices one female give the occasional glance
while
she prepares the morning meal for the village with
other
females. Too bad he is leaving or else he could get
to
know her better. He dons his dragon armor knowing that
he
might not see combat today but in the coming days. But
the
dragon hide is far more warmer than the leather. The
leather he packs in his bags. He secures his pike in its
straps
on the horse. He belts his dagger and whip. He
thinks
that he needs to use his whip more. He places
his
bow and quiver on his back and holds on to his lucky
and
used spear. His clothing is typical and not too
colorful but typical for a rider (boots, pants, etc.).
He
makes sure the horse barding armor is all secure and
doesn't hinder Tef'wo's movement. Lastly he stuffs his
bag of
other gear onto the back of the horse. Lastly before
he
mounts he adjusts his dragon fang and claws so everyone
sees
it. Brushing a hand through his long hair he smiles
then
gets impatient at the others..always eager for action..]

----------------------

[Thig has
been quiet for the last 3 days more so than
usual
for those who know him. He was there when needed
but he
knows to the village folk he is a "freak" or
"strange one". Even though they don't say it to his
face
he
still hears the whispers and snickers. He knows that
the
Faerry don't tend to travel the world like he has.
Back
ages past his kind was everywhere. But he knows today
its a
human world. Even though he has less problems in
civilized lands here in the Wild Areas his kind is looked
to
with leering eyes. At least Dwarves get more respect
as
"short humans". But his wings are just something
hard
to
explain so he has stopped doing so years ago. He
shouldn't have to explain himself. Course this trait has
lead
to him (and his kind) to being loners or a bit stand
off-ish. The morning of the trip he prepares his horse
and
gear. He snickers. A faerry on a horse. His
brothers
and
sisters back home would laugh for days. But he needs
something to carry his gear. He knows on the trip he can
use
the horse to rest and fly most of the way. This will
become
useful if his horse suddenly turns on him. Which
brings
him to ordering his dogs, Ventrius and Pogo, to
stay
behind. The dogs don't understand the reason but they
are
happy to be fed and taken care by the children. Thig
thinks
to himself they are wardogs trained to kill yet
around
children they like they turn to puppy dogs! So
strange. To the party Thig has been a outsider in many
ways. Even going back to the day he "fed" a climan
sailor
prisoner to the dogs he was shunned by the party to some
degree. But those who knew him close like Farseeker and
Xian
know it was all a ruse. He wouldn't do that though
he
rather have the reputation of doing so.

He
dons his leather armor, places his buckler on the horse,
places
his various daggers on his person or the horse,
holds
his war staff always at the ready and places his
repeating crossbow on his back. He belts his sling and
bag of
darts and sling projectiles. He places his tiny
short
sword on the horse in a sheath. In his quiver he
makes
sure his "special" ammo is there. he places his
overstuffed bag of gear onto the horse. Thig always seems
to
wear the same robes (folks wonder how he cleans it if
he
even has spares?), gloves and boots. He adjusts his amulet
around
his neck and dusts off his magical ring. Before the
trip
starts he becomes bored so decides to sit and play
his
flute for those in the village. Unsure why he does this
but
maybe deep down he thinks it might make them like him...]

----------------------

[Trembyl was torn
the morning of the trip. He wanted to
head with
the party but also understands Strie'bog's
suggestion
that someone stay. So he decided to stay.
Course if
theres a problem its good to have illusions cast
on the gear
Chion stole to prevent other problems. He
bids
everyone good luck as they leave.]

----------------------

[Unali for the
last couple days has been quiet as well.
She has seen
how the men treat the women in this village
and Zaka's
village. It is so barbaric and old fashioned.
But it seems
to be mainly the male warriors. At least
Gib'borah
doesn't seem that overly male oriented. But
Cetric and
the other main warriors sure are. But this is
their
way. She may hate the style but can't say much
about
it. At least not at this time. When the news of
the Castle
in the mountains was given she was surprised.
But she was
also concerned. Her new relationship with
Duke Aren
leads her to want to tell him of this news.
it may be a
strategic turn in the area. While others
are away she
quietly inspects the weapons Chion stole.
From this
there must be 75-150 warriors in the castle.
that's good
in one aspect not a major force to hurt
Marentia or
her homeland. Learning this she isn't so
concerned. But it could be a start to things in the
area.
She puts the info in the back of her mind for
later to
give to Duke Aren. The last few weeks travelling
to this area
she has heard whispers among various party
members
especially Balrog and Kasha. She may not know
the full
details but she suspects what they are saying.
Her
relationship with Duke Aren is public but there may
be private
aspects some suspect. She doesn't care or
at least at
this time doesn't seem to. rumors are the
origin of
mis truths told by idiots she was always taught.

Last night
she was surprised to find the female she battled
in the
dagger duel slowly approach her after dinner. Timid
she doesn't
speak for some time. Then she asks Unali how
she learned
to fight so well. Soon both are found talking
for over 2
hours as the female comes out of her shell....

The morning
of the trip she prepares her gear as well. She
dons her
leather armor. The chainmail she has access to
but can be
cumbersome to wear. She belts her many daggers
and
sling. She sheaths her scimitar and looks at her
Elven
Bow. She hasn't used it much but still holds on to it.
She places
it on her back. She makes sure her magical
items from
clima are bagged and safe then places the bags
on her
horse. Her clothing makes her look like a slim
warrior
ready for constant action. It is all black clothing
and a large
cowl.]

----------------------

[Farseeker wonders
the same thing as Unali, about the
strategic
value of this castle they found. As a military
force they
don't seem a big threat though. The last 3
days
Farseeker has sized up the Zen'da warriors. He can
now tell why
Marentia had some tough wars with this area
of the
world. But take away their horses and these warriors
aren't too
powerful.

The morning
of the trip he prepares his normal gear. He dons
his
chainmail armor and keeps his spare with Xian's horse.
He checks
his great and broadswords sheathing his great and
storing his
broadsword on the horse. He places his throwing
axe on his
back and battle axe on his horse. Heplaces his
pike and
magical lance on the horse. Plenty of weapons he
always
believes in being prepared he smirks. The rest of
the gear he
places in a bag on his horse. His clothing is
common
browns and blacks of no real interest other than
his nice
boots.]

----------------------

[Xian did not need
much encouragement the morning of the
trip to
stay. He decided quickly. He knew that if the
horses were
affected by the claw that he could not handle
his horse
that well. Not too experienced with horses
and his
fragile frame it could be dangerous.]

----------------------

[Balrog has been a
mystery to some in the group. He knew
Triest way
back and joined the Clima mission in hopes for
money and
money. But in the end he became friends with
the party
group as a whole. Some still know he is a rogue
thief, he
has admited to such, but he is also a good horseman
and
warrior. No one figured out why he joined this mission
as it
clearly had no hope for money. But it had to be
assumed he
wanted to truly help Caladan. At least his
skills were
used on Clima to open a door at a most critical
time in the
exploration. Here on the plains there are no
doors.
He actually prefers city life to this wide and
open
life.

On the
morning of the trip he prepares his gear as normal.
He dons his
leather armor, places his daggers on his belt
and the
horse saddle, sheathes his short sword and places
a spare one
on the horse and belts his whip. He also
belts his
sling and bag of sling projectiles. The rest
of his gear,
in a bag, is placed on his horse. No one
has figured
out the purpose of the amulet he wears around
his neck as
of yet.]

----------------------

[Z'leyra it has
been an exhausting couple of days. Her and
Ben'dar
haven't had much time to rest. In fact after
entering
camp this morning they have to leave again. But
they must
rest the horses a couple of hours at the very
least.
While her and Ben'dar are put up to speed on the
info with
the Village attack and castle she still glances
at the
Eagle, Corona. She knows only hours before he
died but she
was able to save it. In doing so she felt
a bit of
unease doing so as if she was being watched and
limited in
her ability. But it could just be a time constraint
and the
worry of the event. When she hears about the
Claw she
wonders if Corona can withstand that power. It
all makes
sense now. Why the birds attacked and the Wolves.
Both attacks
would NOT have occurred in nature. Though
Wolves would
attack if cornered or really hungry birds
would
not. She sees the canines and firesnake are being
left behind
for their protection. She realizes that
Corona can't
understand human tongue since she talks to
him via her
tonah ability. So Corona would not be
aware of the
claw and his choice to stay or go into danger.
Could she
have to watch out for the bird again or can it
handle
himself? If killed again today could she muster
another set
of spells to save the day or would the gods
intervene? Her Divination spells did not work since it
seemed the
gods did not want her to see a future she
would be
changing. Maybe that got their attention?

She decides
to take everything with her on the trip.
Since she
just entered camp she doesn't need to pack.
This gives
her time for a nice breakfast in the
village. But before she leaves she ensures her satchel
and bags all
are safe and secure on the horse. She
doesn't need
to change clothing so stays in her riding
tunic and
pants. Her drum now a part of her being
as much as
her other gear always hangs at her side.
She still
wears her Dragon helm, leather and ring armors
and keeps
her buckler at hand. She belts or places
her daggers
in her boots. She belts her sling and
bag of sling
projectiles. Places her longbow and quiver
on her
back. Then her main weapon her staff is always
at hand or
across her lap on the horse.]

GM: The Draft
horses would slow down the party. Do
you
keep them in the village? They were mainly used
to
carry gear and grain. But since there is plenty
of
grazing area on the plains for the horses the
grain
is not needed now. At least until snow covers
the
ground then it might be more difficult.

----------------------

[Jordi the last
day or so has been quiet. Since the
tests and
the betrayal he felt from Cetric he has
kept quiet
and to himself. Most in the party suspect
its homesick
for Neva and his homeland. So far away.
But now that
he knows Chion can go great distances
theres
always hope. jordi was a bit disappointed they
did not go
after the castle. Somehow it is a good
staging
point for future plans and practice. But
theres
always after the chase.

On the
morning of the trip he secures his bags and
other sacks
on the horse. He glances at Cetric when
he announces
his intention to join the chase. But after
all it is
his plains. Maybe just maybe he can bring
something to
help. But quietly Jordi still suspects
Cetric may
be involved with this whole mess. He
won't place
his back to the shaman in case there is
another
betrayal. He dons his scale mail, magical
helmet and
places his shield in his sack for later use.
He holds his
spear in the hand, sheathes his sword
and places a
spare elven spear on the horse. He places
his longbow
and quiver on his back. he belts his daggers
and bags his
sai weapon. his clothing has not changed
much from
the standard tunic, leathers and warm clothing.
He wears his
gloves for the hard riding ahead. Lastly
he adjusts
his two small amulets on his neck.]

----------------------

[Strie'bog after
the combat in the village has felt a
bit guilty
of late. He knows he is trained as a priest
and a
peaceful person but he could've done better in
the
combat. But he isn't trained to fight. If only
his first
arrow had hit he could've done more and maybe
saved that
old woman who was killed. Kasha later explained
seeing the
face of Strie'bog that he did the best he
can but
mentally its still a issue to resolve. After
the dead was
buried Strie'bog decided to commune with the
gods and
thus get wisdom. But he figured it only to
be minutes
not hours. As he exits the Tipi he realizes
otherwise. the images, stories, words, phrases and other
odd things
they sent into his brain is a great deal of
information. It may take hours, weeks even months to
deciphor it
all. He is unsure why the Court of Life sent
so much
information to him? Usually they send one single
piece of
item or word. But then again there is that word
"Vong". Strie'bog is unsure if that's the name of the
person
in the
grave, their race, a weapon name o or even a plant
name.
Strie'bog knew Kaylle only a short time but if he
was here
maybe he would know since he is a scholar. After
the ritual
he feels ravenous and eats a full meal. He
then feels
exhausted and sleeps the 4-5 hours till sunrise.
When he
wakes the party is preparing to leave. Still a
bit sleepy
he prepares his gear as well.

He sees
Caladan and Thig leave their pets at the village.
Then it hits
him about his wolf. Though at times its
more a
companion than some pet he decides to leave him
at the
village as well. Boyzdar doesn't seem to understand
the full
details but looks sad. Strie'bog can't remember
when they
were separated last. Months? Years? If Ever?
But its for
his own good so he doesn't get hurt by any
party member
defending themselves. The wolf is lead into
a tipi with
Thig's dogs and kept there. Strie'bog is sure
Xian can
help with him as the wolf likes him.

He wears his
quilted and leather armor. He places his
longbow and
quiver on his back and holds onto his axe.
During
riding he can place his axe in a leather strap to
hang down
for easy grab. He places delicately his musical
instruments
on his horse but gets them at easy reach so
he can play
them on the trip if boredom comes. while most
of the party
wears normal clothing its noticed that
Strie'bog
wears fine clothing of fine manufacture or silk
design. His boots and belt for example are nicely made.
For the trip
though he wears wool pants and a simple
riding
tunic. He has access to cowls to keep the cold at
bay.]

----------------------

[Since Chion
returned with his newly found weapons he
considers
what to do with it. Maybe open a shop or
sell or
split the money? too bad he thinks that the
weapons
aren't the big price items like armor or
big
swords. But the L'p'nth don't use those type of
weapons. The morning of the trip he wonders about the
surrender if
the castle. He wouldn't be too surprised
to figure
they may not. They would be silly to do so.
but who
knows. L'p'nth aren't the wisest folks in the
area.
Maybe he can get to it later and help take down
the castle
with help.

Chion places
his bag and bedroll onto his horse. He
fingers his
amulet on his neck and places his long
waist length
cloak on his back. He dresses in loose
fitting
sailor type clothing but nothing too unusual.
He dons his
heavy chainmail suit and helmet. He
sheathes his
sword and belts his sais. He places his
battle axe
on the horse in its loose strap. He places
his
repeating crossbow and quiver on his back. Lastly
he grabs his
long staff or places it in his lap while
riding. He wonders what Caladan's master meant by his
words in
reference to the staff. He wonders if theres
more to the
staff than he was told about?]

[Xian casts two magical
healing spells on Balrog and Kasha.
The spells work and heal
fully both wounds and they are
now at 100%.]

GM: This still leaves 1 point
wounds for Z'leyra and Chion.
Congrats to Xian
(err Me) +1 MEL from this spell use.
[Day of Travel - Morning -
book keeping]

GM: The above was
fun. it gave some insight into each
character
and added to some plot points. But I also
did it for
some book keeping. Had to reconfigure the
new party
movement speed. Based on the results I have
the
following:

Player Horse
Speed Encumbrance
Caladan
32
--
Kasha
32
--
Ben'dar
32?
--
Thig
29
-- [If on horse]
Unali
26
--
Farseeker
26
--
Balrog
26
--
Z'leyra
23
--
Jordi
23
--
Strie'bog
23
-2 = Speed 21 20%
Chion
23
-3 = Speed 20 30%

GM: So only Strie'bog
and Chion are encumbered. Chion
is due to
his bulk (240 lbs. and chainamil). Take away
the
chainmail and hes not encumbered. Unfournately
he can't
improve to a Warhose III at his rating yet.
Chion could
ride a Riding horse III (MR 29) with only
a 10%
reduction in speed or MR 28. Strie'bog could
upgrade to
Riding Horse II with a 4 MR speed increase
due to its
greater carrying capacity. New horses could
be arranged
for this case if needed/wanted. But at
this point
the lowest speed is Chion at 20. So the
party speed
will have to be that at 20 miles per day.

Party speed: 20
Octaqi 18, in the 163rd Year
[TH]
[Meanwhile back on the plains
- Caladan's Village]
Time: Roughly
9:50am] [Day 48 of Trip]

[it is now 48 days after
Caladan first got word of trouble
on the plains. A
long time. Taking over a month just
to get here he finds the
trouble is relative and a bit
exaggerated. Minor
crop failures that were experimental
already. Some
grave robbery in the eastern plains. It
then felt it wasn't so
serious a problem after all. the
trader, the friend of
the family who has permission to
travel the plains with
his wares, must have exaggerated
his letter. But
then they find Grog a giant that attacked
them without
question. Grog who had settled a peace
agreement with the
Zen'da. This agreement would make Grog
leave them along for his
life. He settled for this peace.
He settled near the
river in the west a hundred miles away.
There he could live on
fish and the occasiosal animal like
deer that visited the
river. But being so far inland something
had to have gone
wrong. Then the party enters the village
only to be ambushed and
betrayed by the tribal shaman Cetric.
To the party some felt
there was a power struggle going on
in the party.
Maybe Cetric wanted to rule and so the trader
had sent his letter as a
warning? But in the end the tests
were all passed.
It was learned, though not fully believed
by the party, that
Cetric did what he did for the good of
the Ga'fel'ora
tribe. With over 200 people in the village
and many more outside on
the plains including Zaka's nearby
village Cetric did what
he had to.

Then the party learns of
the castle and the chase for the
grave robbers resolves
in learning of a special item named
the Claw or at least
referred to as a claw. An item that
can control
animals. There is the mystery as to why the
other rider had 3 bars
of silver. Coins that the Zen'da
have no use for.
There is still the mystery of the strange
person in the grave
though the party later learns he seems
to be a invader of some
kind of ages past. It was clear
the stranger had the
claw in his grave and must've been his.

So maybe there was
trouble and still is. The grave robbery
must've started far in
the east. Traveled slowly west and
south. Even going
as far south to the border of Ba'ru and
the Ser'manda.
Then there were the border skirmishes between
these two, a range
war. Could that be normal or a setup as
well by the
L'p'nth?

Now the chase
starts....

Cetric and his four
warriors are lightly equipped making
them fast riders.
Cetric circles the party and checks
the horses over.]

Cetric: "We are
trackers. All warriors can track. But
if it
weren't for you (nodding to Z'leyra) and your
ability to
track by the spirits we could go ourselves.
Some of you
(looking at Strie'bog, Chion and Jordi
quickly)
slow us down. But we'll have to take what
we
have. But be warned. If we get a trail ourselves
that works
we'll take it and leave you behind. We
work
together now. Such a large group can be seen
for miles on
the open plains coming and will warn them
before we
even get to see the enemy. But I have
no choice to
follow you at this point. So let's move!"

Caladan: "We both
serve the same goal Cetric. To find
this claw
and enemy. We serve the plains and the
Zen'da. I speak for the party when I say we won't
follow your
orders if we feel it is harmful to us
or
others. We have no single leader but lead by
action and
wisdom."

[Cetric smirks and
nods.]

Gib'borah: "Good
luck to you all!"

[Gib'borah then
approaches Caladan and speaks softer]
Gib'borah: "Your
brother Durge is due back tomorrow from
hunting in
the north. He will miss you."
Caladan: "We'll
return say hello for me."

Praelux: "I wish I
could go with you."
Caladan: "I told
you earlier cousin you could not. You
must earn
your own horse and grow a bit more."
Praelux: "Yeah well
they won't let me!"
Caladan: "In good
time. Three years you'll start your
first hunt
and soon after join a lodge."
Praelux: "Three
years is too long."
Caladan: "I've seen
things and done things that would
scare
you. Life is harsh and outside the village
even
harsher. Live for now. I've lost friends and
companions
due to stupid acts (he thinks of Triest
and his
murder in the alley) or to combat. In due
time you'll
have your chance."

[With that Ben'dar and
Z'leyra take the lead. They
guide the 15
person/horse party outward. They ride
toward the south
to pick up the trail.]

[By now its near noon
and Chion looks southward beyond
the distant
mountains he can't see to a castle. He
wonders if some
fool is standing outside with a white
flag of
surrender? He smirks.]

[Near Zaka's village the
party turns east where the
two riders
went. Then they find the spot where
the larger group
met up with the 2 robbers. They
explained this is
where likely they went (some) south
to attack Zaka's
village while the other 2 went east.]

[the party continues
eastward and finds the dead wolves.
Cetric looks
shocked. It takes him a full 2 minutes
before he slowly
dismounts. Ben'dar looks away and
hopes his wolf
skin is hidden as well as Z'leyra.
Of course this is
the chance Ben'dar could admit to the
act. Cetric
walks over to the 3 dead wolves. Now
they are stinking
and starting to decay.]

[Cetric drops his
drum. Something a shaman rarely does
without some
thought. Z'leyra figuers this to mean
that he is ashamed
to be a Tonah of the Wolf and wear
the drum in this
sight. Clearly distress is seen in
Cetric's
face. As if he felt he should've been here.
But Ben'dar and
Z'leyra are just happy to know one of
the wolves wasn't
Cetric!]

Cetric: "Who killed
them? Who would ...dare...to skin
this
one...cruel...sadistic....shameful...we must
bury them
before we continue. Does anyone have a
shovel?"

GM: Z'leyra/Ben'dar do
you explain what happened here ?
Strie'bog
you do have a shovel in your gear list. :)

------------------------------------------------------

Next update Friday....

Actions? Comments?

GM: Ok. The chase has started. The
tracking spell is best
cast at the last spot seen of the
rider still after this
part. Are there actions or
events retroactive or currently
to be performed before we
continue? Actions while riding?
I will need to update a map and show
you where the party
heads to. Hopefully by next
update.

Oh! Wait! This weekend is
Easter. An important weekend for
some. Hrm. Does anyone want me to
hold off on a friday update
for this purpose since some may go out of town
due to the
long weekend (some off monday and friday)?
Heck that counts
for monday I guess too. Let me know if you
guys want a hold
due to this weekend for that reason.
Otherwise I can plan
a small update with nothing too vital.

Also if you need a updated character sheet like
Rob let me
know and I can send them with edits.
