[With the screech from the bird that people believe to be<br>
from Balrog, but isn't, East Team moves west.]<br>
<br>
[The fast Farseeker bolts first. Even though he is weighed<br>
down he bolts NW diagonally. He gets to the railing and<br>
tries to climb. But that weight slows him down.
Frustrated<br>
he raises his great sword in a down strike and slices the<br>
wooden tree branch in half. He does the same for the
second<br>
tier and then climbs over. He rushes straight for the
nearest<br>
horse. He turns his sword to the side so the blade is up
and<br>
down so not to cut the horse. He then gives the now
awaken<br>
horse a quick tap on the rear. TWACK. The horse
bolts...]<br>
<br>
[Ben'dar runs due west the 16 feet to the railing. With<br>
a forceful leap he puts one foot on the railing and leaps<br>
over the gate. For him a 31% chance. But I rolled a 32.<br>
So Ben'dar makes the leap but instead of both feet hitting<br>
the ground he falls to one knee scraping it slightly.<br>
But damage is not registered With one hand hitting the<br>
ground the other holding his new claw headdress adrenaline<br>
rushes through him so he registers no pain. With a grin<br>
he charges straight for the goat. He crouches and bends<br>
low and moves toward the goat. He begins to growl. The<br>
goat who was sleeping perks up in a daze. Hearing the<br>
noise it looks over and gives a "Baaaa" call. As
ben'dar<br>
gets within 2 feet it turns toward Ben'dar. More curious<br>
Ben'dar growls at the goat and pulls its tail with one
hand.<br>
The goat bolts. Laughing a bit Ben'dar looks for a horse.<br>
He thinks to himself if only his family could see him
now.]<br>
<br>
[Caladan moves SW toward the railing last. He decides not<br>
to break or leap the railing. Instead he squeezes between<br>
the tiers of wood and enters the corral. He rushes toward<br>
a horse giving a strange cry to scare the horse.]<br>
<br>
[At once the horses all react. Some are still asleep.
Others<br>
wake up while others are dazed from sleep. All this
occurs<br>
almost at the same time...<br>
<br>
The horse Farseeker bolts from him and goes due west. It<br>
recalls where the gate is and head thorugh it. Straight<br>
west past the tipi edge and right toward the guards. He<br>
passes one and the other guard surprised turns to avoid<br>
the horse but is too slow. The startled horse runs right<br>
into the man. Amazingly the man wearing banded armor<br>
is hit but only takes a minor scratch. The horse
continues<br>
to move NW. The Goat bolts as well scared it heads due<br>
West and stops at the West railing figuring its safe.<br>
Caladan's horse bolts and heads NW past 3 horses and<br>
stops north of the goat at the railing.]<br>
<br>
[This causes a chain reaction. As a pack animals see<br>
other animals head one way and figure its best to<br>
follow if in danger. One horse bolts and heads out<br>
the gate but turns south. It heads south past the<br>
Tipi and continues. Its rushing straight for the<br>
sleeping villagers. But at the last second as it<br>
enters the light nearby it turns SW and goes West past<br>
the other four man tent. Another horse near Farseeker<br>
raises up on his hind legs and bucks from the noise.<br>
But it doesn't bolt. The draft horse near farseeker<br>
rushes to the NE corner of the corral. Another<br>
horse continues to sleep. But a horse near it bolts<br>
out the gate and turns south. Its heading for the<br>
villagers. Another horse continues to sleep near
Farseeker<br>
while the nearby mule sleeps as well.]<br>
<br>
[The horses near the center - near Ben'dar react. One<br>
horse sees another running against the railing that<br>
Caladan scared. It bolts and finds the gate and exits<br>
the corral. It heads due west past the startled guard<br>
and toward the one with the horse he was standing near.<br>
The man is able to shift just in time to avoid the blow<br>
of the horse's side as it runs past him westward.<br>
Two horses near Ben'dar continue to sleep while 2 others<br>
bolt. One heads out the gate west and avoids the
sentries.<br>
The other turns south and bolts straight for the villagers<br>
positions. The mule near Ben'dar bays and bolts but<br>
it only gets to the gate area itself. Three more horses<br>
bolt south of Ben'dar. They have to move beside the mule<br>
blocking the way but they escape the corral. One heads<br>
due west and hits one sentry. Ambushed the guard tries<br>
to block the horse but is knocked down and trampled. The<br>
attack is fatal. Another horse exits but turns north<br>
and gets near Balrog. Another exits and heads west but<br>
weaves between the sentries.]<br>
<br>
[The horses near Caladan react at the same time...One<br>
horse flees near Caladan while 2 stay in place. The<br>
fleeing horse exits and heads west. It almost hits<br>
the sentry clipped twice but only nudges by and heads<br>
further west. A horse hears Caladan and wakes but<br>
doesn't move.]<br>
<br>
GM: At this point about 10 horses have fled the corral.<br>
We start at a negative turn to figure out combat. <br>
<br>
Turn 0 - -1 Phase <br>
<br>
[Mana Allocation]<br>
<br>
[Now that the horses are doing their part Strie'bog<br>
quickly allocates some mana for a spell.]<br>
<br>
[Missile Fire]<br>
<br>
[Thig raises his repeating crossbow to acquire a target.<br>
Instead of a person though he aims at one horse that<br>
is furthest south that fled the corral. Heading for<br>
the sleeping villagers in the dark. If he can scare<br>
the horse it might flee another direction. He fires.<br>
The dart hits the hind quarters of the horse and it<br>
neighs in fright.]<br>
<br>
[Magic Effect]<br>
<br>
[Strie'bog casts his Spores spell and aims at the<br>
nearby sentries. But nothing seems to happen.]<br>
<br>
[Melee & Movement]<br>
<br>
[The horses move...<br>
<br>
One of the horses out of the corral turns North<br>
and gallops away from the camp. It passes within<br>
4 feet of Rin. Another continues westward into the<br>
darkness. One horse stops where it is feeling safe<br>
for the time being [1,19]. Two more horses near the<br>
sentries stay as well feeling safe near the humans<br>
[-1,25] and [1,26]. The horse near Balrog turns<br>
toward him and charges but turns at the last second<br>
back south then turns west and heads away from the<br>
corral. The horse that got near the four man tent<br>
from the corral turns north and heads about 30 feet<br>
then stops feeling safe. The horse Thig hit with<br>
the dart heads south and turns west. It charges<br>
through near the campfire right by the sitting Zen'da.<br>
It continues westward. The horse near the darted<br>
horse feels safe and stops.]<br>
<br>
[Now for the horses still in the corral. The Mule<br>
at the gate itself feels safe and stops to simply<br>
look around. The Cow continues to smack and look<br>
around but isn't scared. Eight horses near Farseeker<br>
continue to stay place. But one nearby does bolt and<br>
exits the corral. It turns and heads north and ends<br>
up in the same place the previous horse was near
Balrog.<br>
One horse near Ben'dar hears the growls and bolts. It<br>
heads following the other horses out the gate but only<br>
just exits it near the gate itself. Another horse<br>
a bold one just coughs back at Ben'dar. The Goat<br>
Ben'dar scared to the fence turns south and heads to<br>
the extreme SW corner. The horse near the goat stops<br>
and feels safe.]<br>
<br>
[The horses near Caladan react at the same time.<br>
The mule gets away from the "wolf" (Ben'dar
and<br>
heads south. It gets to the southern edge of the<br>
fence near the goat. One horse hears the whooping<br>
from Caladan and heads north about 50 feet then<br>
turns to the gate and nears it. Two other horses<br>
though stand their ground near Caladan.]<br>
<br>
[One dog near the campfire perks up and stands. It<br>
begins to bark at the fleeing horses. Another dog<br>
near Unali leaves her area and heads north to see<br>
what is going on.]<br>
<br>
[Farseeker moves with great sword blade in hand. He<br>
runs westward 10 feet and taps another horse on the<br>
hind legs. He then turns NW and few feet taps another<br>
horse. He then heads west to a 3rd horse he can see<br>
from the outline of light in the west. After 10 feet<br>
he taps that horse. He then realizes he is only 10<br>
feet from the gate.]<br>
<br>
[Unali heads south around the Tipi. She sees the 3<br>
guards still packed together. She could probably<br>
take out 2 but a 3rd would likely get her. She<br>
backs away and heads north. She inspects the Tipi<br>
flap and spots the horse tied up. She slices the<br>
rope with her daggers that ties the horse and pushes<br>
the horse away. This will prevent anyone getting on<br>
the horse and having a advantage. She backs up to<br>
wait for the 3 sentries to investigate.]<br>
<br>
[Ben'dar heads the 3 feet to the horse near him and<br>
scratches it with his fingers to scare it. He hopes<br>
it has been scared enough but continues northward to<br>
another horse and tries to scare it. Then turns<br>
west toward another one.]<br>
<br>
[Suddenly from inside the Tipi Unali is standing a<br>
noise is heard. A muffled cry and a muffled growl.<br>
Then clinks and clanks. A voice is heard "I'll
return!"]<br>
<br>
[Balrog rounds the corner of the corral and heads south.<br>
He knows being near those sentries would be dangerous<br>
with stomping horses around. He rounds the south side<br>
of the Tipi and turns westward toward the tents.]<br>
<br>
[Two Zen'da wake up in their places of sleep.]<br>
<br>
[Caladan continues to whoop scary noises. He heads
north<br>
and taps one horse with his staff then west to another
one<br>
then travels another 20 feet northward toward the
gate.]<br>
<br>
[Z'leyra grabs her magical dagger then heads south. She<br>
takes 18 feet. Finding one guard town the one she saw<br>
trampled she turns to the middle sentry [0,25]. She<br>
slices the dagger at the man's head/neck area. But<br>
misses the blow.]<br>
<br>
[One of the Zen'da near the NE side of the campfire<br>
stands and shouts the horses are escaping.]<br>
<br>
[One sentry near the SE corner of the camp nearest<br>
the wagon turns to the Corral to see what's going<br>
on. He now hears the noise and wonders what is<br>
going on.]<br>
<br>
[Two more Zen'da stir from their sleeping positions.]<br>
<br>
[Rin heads southward and then SE toward the other<br>
Sentry near its horse. He thrusts his scimitar<br>
at Sentry #10 and impales the guard. The guard drops<br>
his battle axe and falls to the ground.]<br>
<br>
[One Zen'da sleeps through the chaos.]<br>
<br>
[Jordi motions for Cetric and heads NW toward those<br>
Sentries.]<br>
<br>
[Chion heads north. He ends up in the NW corner of<br>
the Tipi near the 3 sentries.]<br>
GM: Wasn't sure of your actions so moved you here.<br>
<br>
[Kasha runs south. Instead of joining Z'leyra and<br>
Rin he heads south in between two tents. Ready<br>
to take out anyone that might leave the tents.]<br>
<br>
[Sentry #21 one of the NW corner sentries turns around<br>
and heads to look at what's up. He passes within 3<br>
feet of Kasha and passes the tents. He turns north<br>
to see the horses near the NE sentries.]<br>
<br>
[Cetric sees Jordi and Chion leave. He taps his drum<br>
a beat and casts a spell. He then disappears..]<br>
<br>
[Zen'da #29 near the West edge of campfire stands as well<br>
to figure out what is going on.]<br>
<br>
[Three Zen'da continue to sleep.]<br>
<br>
[Sentry #14 (in NW) turns its horse toward the East<br>
to figure out what's going on but stays put as it<br>
has to remain guard duty here.]<br>
<br>
[Two more Zen'da sleep during the chaos.]<br>
<br>
[One Sentry in the SW turns to hear the noises. It<br>
tells the others he'll be back and heads north.<br>
It passes the Tipi and passes Unali and heads North<br>
near the dog to check out the corral. Unali realizes<br>
now that's 1 gone and 2 left.]<br>
<br>
[Fearing trouble Sentry #9 in the SE mounts his horse<br>
and turns it toward the Corral and looks around for<br>
trouble from the North and East.]<br>
<br>
[Sentry #26 in the NW corner stands in place but now<br>
more tense as he senses danger.]<br>
<br>
[One Zen'da continues to sleep in his position.]<br>
<br>
[One Zen'da in the SW corner of the campfire stands<br>
and grabs his weapons. He sees the dog and sentry<br>
heading his way from the south. But he remains in<br>
place.]<br>
<br>
[Lodd leaves the north and heads south. He passes<br>
by the other sentries and horses. He goes in<br>
between the tents and meets up with the guard who<br>
is inspecting things (that passed Kasha). Lodd<br>
swings on #28 but misses.]<br>
<br>
[Confused Sentry #4 the one Z'leyra just tried to attack<br>
feels the breeze of Z'leyaa's invisible dagger.
Thinking<br>
its a arrow he pulls his bow and in a panic tries to<br>
thread it. He turns to the NW now with back at Z'leyra<br>
and fires. The arrow flies but hits nothing as no one<br>
is in that area.]<br>
<br>
[Praelux heads south with his spear. Straight for where<br>
Z'leyra is. He pumps Z'leyra. Confused he is thrown<br>
to the SE a bit and turns back toward #4. Confused he<br>
tries a wild thrust at #4 but misses almost in fact<br>
hitting Z'leyra.]<br>
<br>
[Zen'da #18 and #5 around the campfire also stand up and<br>
gather their gear.]<br>
<br>
[Corr heads north and ends up behind Chion hoping to
attack<br>
the guards nearby. But waits for Chion to react.]<br>
<br>
[Another Zen'da sleeps in his tent.]<br>
<br>
[Zen'da Sentry #9 on his horse in the SW section of the<br>
camp stands in position and watches the Northwest.]<br>
<br>
[Zen'da #17 in the NE section of the campfire stands<br>
and gathers his weapons as well.]<br>
<br>
[Sentry #27 in the SE corner grabs his weapons tightly<br>
and scans the south and east for anyone in the
darkness.]<br>
<br>
[One Zen'da in his tent wakes up and grabs some stuff.]<br>
<br>

Ben'dar, Farseeker, Caladan still in Corral. <br>
<br>
This combat took me 2.5 hours to type up for this just<br>
one phase. So will release it now. Next week I may<br>
have time to do 2 phases per action. So plan on that.<br>
But you can do 1 phase or 2 phases of actions. Consider<br>
this action the AMBUSH phase next round the enemy will<br>
be reacting and moving not just startled.<br>
