[Recap]

From Kiet: [Re: Actions]
Kiet will hold up short and thrust his Tulwar into the
ground. Then try to cast the Infinite Sight spell at Max EL
once again. It's hard to fight what he can't see. Recast
until it works.

Then cast max EL Iron Skin once, grab Tulwar and slash away.
GM: Ack. There is that burning bush (just no gods using it to
speak yet). But yeah vines are hard to target at night.
I guess no one condones you taking the worthless gem. :<

From Dorhak: [Re: Actions]
Dorhak is shocked to see the shogging plants attacking! He
lays about with his mace, wishing he had his axe handy, but
there wasn't time to grab it. He'll do his best to help the
others.

"The shogging plants are alive!"

Then he starts singing while he fights!

Come, come! Saucy wenches and good mannered fellows, That...
GM: Ack. Being new I want to explain that song will take time.
1 Phase to warn others. Another 13-15 phases to sing the
rest (42 seconds or so) and combat may be over by then. :)

From Mae: [Re: Actions]
In the span of a few heartbeats, Maelorna can see that..

(Summoning Gwyligi, Max EL).
GM: Ack.

From Z'leyra: [Re: Actions]
Not noticing the vines Z'leyra uses Pyan's shirt to apply
pressure to the wound, slowing or stopping the bleeding. Then
(if not aware of being attacked) she will cast EL0 Healing Mist
heal Pyan to full Health.

If aware of being attacked she will either deal with the threat
or heal Pyan depending on the danger she sees in the threat and
likelyhood of others dealing with it quickly.
GM: Ack.

From Mournath: [Re: Actions]
Standing over his fallen, new companion, Mournath...
GM: Ack.

From Kell: [Re: Actions]
Kell once again says a prayer of thanks. This is the...
[OOC - Stay and keep Pyan from death.]
GM: Ack.

------------------------------------------------------------
[New Stuff]

[Febris 4th, 1635TH]
[Kameran Lands - Forest South of Kameran capital]

[Time: 4:05:09 am]
[Phase 3]

Arawn notices Z'leyra's expression and starting the gestures
for a healing spell. But Arawn knows that spell will kill
him for good. He waves a hand and grunts to stop Z'leyra. There
is simply no time to explain.

Arawn kneels down at Pyan's side and casts a energy spell
to deplete Pyan's energy. Physical healing would not cure
his energy loss which is almost completely gone if not gone
already. His body may still be around thanks to Kell's wand
but his spirit may already be preparing to depart.

Being a priest he is able to handle the spirit if needed.
But he needs to act fast and give Pyan some energy from
Arawn. He places hands on Pyan's chest and speaks the words
learnt long ago. A dull brown energy flow leaves the druid's
hands and soon begins to spread into Pyan's body. The energy
turns from a dull brown to a dark brown to orange and then
pale to show that it begins to give substance to Pyan's body.

Arawn hates to stop Z'leyra but if she had healed at the
same time his death chance would've climbed. He needed
energy not physical help at this point. Once the wand is removed
then Pyan will probably be critical again.

Kiet recasts his infinite Sight spell and the darkness shrinks
away revealing the landscape as if day. So this is how the
elves see. It is not perfect night vision but it is good
enough. He looks to the ground and sees the green and red
vines. They are small at tips but thick as a sausage for
the most part so shouldn't be too hard to hack.

Fremea casts her Fire Arrow spell and sees the bow knock glow
slightly from the magic.

In the span of a few heartbeats, Maelorna can see that two of
her new companions are hurt. One still upon the ground, while
the other still up on his knees. Both with sundered armor
revealing ruined flesh underneath dripping blood. Then the
motions of the plant catch her eye as she can just make them
out and follow their movements.

'Do it little one, after all flesh is only fleeting, after
all, you want to help them.' the sibiliant voice in her head
purrs and taunting with delight as it reveals the image of what
might help. The hint of a terror inducing howl and baleful gaze
as glowing crimson eyes glare at her hungrily in the darkness.
Maelorna starts to utter the first phrases of summoning and
binding to her will. She hopes the spell worked but knows it
will take a few seconds to find out.

With the light of the burning bush to guide him again Corona dives
toward the vines. This time there are more around so he tries to
target the far east part of the vines about 10 feet to east of
those around Pyan. His eyes unleash a magical blast but the
eagle's fire dart only impacts the ground sparking a few sparks.

Hovering only 10 feet away, realizing the vines could probably
reach her, Fremea fires his bow at one of the green vines hitting
it with luck doing 10 points of damage. The arrow enhanced by
the fire magic. The vine is severed in half and dies.

Unali who exited her tent in cover of darkness and in her dark
black clothing took the opportunity to flank the area. As she
moved north west she saw the vines moved and realized it has to
be a creature or a plant. She scans to the far east tracing the
red colorful vines, using the burning bush as light, to a tree
some distance away. The tree is tall and thick with bushes all
around the base. But she notices fat wobbling vines moving this
way and that. If she can cut them at the base it would stop the
vine ends doing damage. Hoping Z'leyra's magical dagger will
give her warning of any attacks she moves and pulls now both
magical daggers. She wonders how does one ambush a tree? Do
you sneak up and attack or can it sense you? Maybe the tree
senses heat or energy from victims like a plant sensing a fly
coming nearby. If that is the case she will be a big target.
But she has to prevent more damage. But wait Kell did say
the new earth bridge dagger he made has defense against mana
sensing? Maybe that means she is blocked from the tree
detecting her? The magical dagger hits the base of the green
vines slicing a bit of bush with it. The dagger does 14
points to the vine severing the vine from the tree. The
earth dagger does 21 points of damage to another green vine
base cleaving it in two with the force of Unali's blow.

Standing over his fallen, new companion, Mournath scans
the treeline. He senses the motion but can not clearly see
the beast that has attacked. "For the sake of all our lives,
move the fallen and wounded back to the light!" He shouts.

Mournath sees the flaming arrow impact on one vine and realizes
that is where the attack is coming from. He counts six in
total half green and half red. But the green seems to all be
motionless. Is that a trick to lull them into false bravado/

Kell once again says a prayer of thanks. This is the second
time his life was saved by his helmet. This time he stayed
conscious too!

Kell stands as he sees Arawn and now Z'leyra over Pyan. But
it seemed the Priest stopped Z'leyra from healing Pyan but
why? Kell may not see all the vivid aurae like the pure Sidh
do but he can tell that whatever Arawn just did was not physical
healing. Maybe that is why the shaman was stopped?

Kell stands and raises shield turning around to see the burning
bush starting to fade and now a flaming arrow in one vine.

Z'leyra is confused by the druid's actions. But she realizes
that he knows and sees things she doesn't. So she continues
to strip Pyan's shirt and make wraps to stop his bleeding. She
can't recall what the wand Kell places in the hunter's hands
does, but it must be helping. Around her she can hear others
casting spells including the new red head. What could she
be doing now?

Fuk realizes the danger from the flaming arrow and burning bush.
He moves forward slicing his sword down at one of the red vines.
But the vine is too agile and the sword misses it.

Pyan begins to stir a bit as his eyes flutter. A low groan
is heard from his mouth.

Kiet raises his shield and while the others are watching the
vines he scans the trees all around him as best he can. Then
he can see Unali in the distance up against a...black tree?
Is that tree really black or is his new magical eyes messing
with him? She is leaning over against the bush of the tree
and doing something.

Dorhak can feel the adrenaline. He sees the vines and
was hoping for actual monsters. He yells out, "The shogging
plants are alive!"

To some it sounded like tree is alive? or was that active
not alive?

Dorhak tries to swing his mace at one of the red vines
but it moves away just in time.

By instinct alone not intellect the tree senses the danger
to itself. With half of its vines gone or useless it tries
to strike out to save itself. The dead green vines do nothing
but the 3 Red ones act. One moves toward Kiet and Dorhak while
the last vine draws backwards toward Unali. The one going
against Dorhak misses as the small man ducks just in time.

The Red vine hits Kiet in the upper left chest below the
shoulder so hard it does 5 points of damage.

The magic of the dagger helps to prevent a much worse level of
damage to only 5 points to Unali as the Red vine strikes her
in the arm slicing a bit of her skin clear off. The dagger
maiden grits her teeth but does not scream. Her training in
stealth that from happening. But she does feel oddly more
tired all of a sudden.

-----------

[Time: 4:05:12 am]
[Phase 4]

Kiet casts a Iron skin spell to prevent the vines from
doing more damage to him. He can feel his skin toughen
up so the spell must be working.

Fremea fires another flaming arrow at another Red vine
hitting it and causing it to stop moving as it begins to
burn a bit.

Unali notices the green vines stop moving. She moves toward
the red ones and sees one not twitching. She uses her magical
dagger to try to slice one up while using the dagger to deflect
any other attacks. As the dagger slices down it catches up on
the bush next to it and falls out of her hand. She hopes no
one saw that fumble.

Arawn glances up at Z'leyra and gives a apologetic frown.
But the healer realizes that Pyan could still die maybe a 50/50
chance at this point if they do another healing. But he helps
Z'leyra to stop the bleeding. He can hear Mournath's suggestion
to move him but that could be risky as well.

Mournath stabs outward at one of the red vines but misses.
He continues speaking, "Tend to them there, least we all fall
on this spot!"

Kell tries to stab one of the red vines but also fails to hit.

Z'leyra's own assessment is that the hunter may have a bit more
than 50 maybe 40% chance of death. But this is based on whatever
that wand is doing. Once it is removed it might go higher.
She helps the druid stop the bleeding on most of the wounds
but two to go.

Fuk swings his sword at one of the red vines and slices it in
half causing it to go inert just as the burning bush fades
into darkness.

Mae waits for her summoned guardian but watches as the man
named Fuk somewhat of a constable she understands, strike one
of the red vines. Then she realizes where is that poor
bounty hunter Lucria?

Dorhak tries to slam his mace down on one of the red vines
and misses. He begins to sing, "Come, come! Saucy wenches and
good mannered fellows,..."

The last two red vines rip up and down. One moves upward
toward Fremea but she is agile enough she dives and weaves just
at the last second.

The other Red vine hits Mournath in the left neck doing 3 points
of damage as it strips skin from his neck. Mourntath also suddenly
feels exhausted as if running for hours.

[Time: 4:05:15 am]
[Phase 5]

Actions? Comments?

Next Update..Monday...

GM: Four of the six vines are dead or inactive. Leaving two
Red ones left. Hopefully once vines are all dealt with
things will go easy. Will work on update Monday afternoon.
For those who see the vines (all but Z'leyra) most can
estimate the range is 3 hexes so folks like Mae are
out of range. But its only a estimate.

GM: Dorhak : Will sing that song over several updates. :) When
1 phase = 3 seconds that long will take time.

Fremea - Can try to fire on the vines or go to help
Unali at the tree maybe fire on the bush or tree
itself?

Kell - Same as Fremea or back away since hurt?

Kiet - Same as fremea.

Unali - Will assume 1 dagger offense and 1 defense for
the next update

Mournath - Hurt you can back out of range or help
the others.

Mae - Reminder no magic while summoning. If no vines
left will need to convince the summoned to do something
else.

Pyan - Still no comment on your wounds? Wow. So you are
at 50/50 for death if you get a new healing spell. The
thing that is keeping you around is that Wand. It is
giving you +4 (positive 4) hit points. Do you want a
new healing spell or risk it later? I consider sunrise
as the 'new' day. This means about 2 hours to go
as you bleed or drip bleed. But it is your decision.

Z'leyra - Still unsure on vines yet. As they don't make
much noise. If you had healed first before Arawn then
Pyan would probably be dead for good (80%). So he had
to restore his energy before he could do physical.
So hope this is acceptable.

GM: Necklace Use
Feb 4 - Z'leyra Dwarven
Feb 5 - Kell Kameran
Feb 6 - ???
Feb 7 - ???

Based on walking not riding there will be more travel
time so Feb 7 should allow 2 more slots to use the
language necklace. Sign up!
