GM: Ack. Opps. You are correct. Z'layha is twin. Z'lena
is other sister. Stupid dwarves can't keep track of
these details.
[New Stuff]

[Febris 9th, 1635TH]
[Kameran Lands - Sharendan Village]

[Time: 4:49 pm]
[Ancient Moss Fortress]

Dorhak gathers his wits after falling, and sees red. In
both a foul mood and foul taste in his mouth, he's not in any
mood to be gentle. He unceremoniously shoves the strange human
girl off him, and doesn't even beg her pardon. While he finds
her hair curious, she is most certainly not his type. He
prefers his women to have at least some silky fuzz on their
face.

As soon as he gets off the floor, he readies his shield and
pulls out his mace, looking around ready to defend himself. But
he finds his mace in the dirt so he moves to fetch it.

Dorhak glances around and then spots the alter. Another
fine piece of stonework. But this time it seems to be
nothing fancy like the statue. This one thing looks like
a tale or alter. He notices the runes and approaches to
examine it further.

Unali goes flying toward Kiet who grabs her. But she is
unsure if a boot hit his head or maybe it was a knee.

Unali checks herself out from slamming into so many things,
last of all Kiet. If it seems she is OK and everything is in
place (daggers included), she will untangle herself from Kiet
and stand up. A brief stroke along his check, 'Thanks for
picking me out of the air.' and she will extend a hand to help
Kiet up as well.

By that time things have escalated with Fuk and Z's sister.
Unali takes a quiet pose and waits for Z' to respond first. By
that time things have escalated with Fuk an Z's sister. Unali
takes a quiet pose and waits for Z' to respond first.

Kiet has hit hard but thankfully recovers quickly from the
fall and whatever weird transition just occurred. He gained
back his senses just in time to realize Unali is literally
flying off the walls, well, almost anyway. Reacting without
time to think, Kiet reached up to grab her to keep her from
hurting herself on the wall, though, considering who we are
talking about, it might have been better to worry about the
wall!

Kiet held on and at least slowed her down but gets dragged
along himself. Bouncing off a hard stone wall isn't fun at any
speed, but at least it didn't hurt. Much. Kiet felt lucky
with his armor and helmet absent.

Back to the present, Kiet hangs on tight to Unali to keep her
from flying in random directions. She still seems somewhat
dazed, so he hopes to keep her still. While he does, he tries
to comfort her as best he can. He tells her, in Katai, over
and over "Meiguanxi! Meiguanxi!"...it's ok...it's ok.

Kiet doesn't mind doing this. While she is rather pretty,
though in a deadly sort of way, she's also a good head taller
than Kiet. Hopefully, without his armor, she won't notice
exactly how much he doesn't mind! Embarrassing... and maybe
fatal!

Then she strokes his cheek. This causes a shiver to go
down Kiet's spine. By reflex he smiles. Then he recalls
this is the second time of such embrace. In the flying
castle she landed on him in the navigation room.

Then Kiet notices that his friend Kell is in trouble and
Mournath digging to help him. Kiet wants to go help! But he
can't while Unali needs help too. As soon as it's safe to
release her, Kiet tries to gently roll her off of himself,
and head over to help Mournath.

"Hold on!" Z'leyra barks. "What do you mean, the Moss
Fortress? The quake dropped us thru the ground just outside
Kam village. We are days of travel from the fortress...unless
magic brought us to the fortress."

"Z'layha, have you ever been in Ticasi? We need to know."

Fremea shakes her head a lot more than normal, this time not
in the sense of not understanding, but to clear the noise and
lights out of it. After catching herself and figuring out that
this a ceiling, instead of open sky or being buried alive, she
assesses her body, finds nothing wrong about her, then quickly
checks her stuff, especially her bags.

Once Fremea finds herself intact and her things not missing, she
pulls her daggers and scans the room.

After seeing the large table and the sidh symbols, she scans
it with her mana sensing. Then the person, Z's sister walks in,
she readies herself to fight if something else happens.

As Fremea glanced at the alter she can tell it is of great
magic. But the room itself seems bland and not without
magic. Even the door the woman appeared. But Z'leyra's
sister is showing signs of magical talent.

Maelorna groans and claws her way back up from unconsciousness,
"I swear, if I woke up in another lock up, honestly it's not
like he needed that ring." she manages to mumble while she
attempts to extract herself from the dust. Then with hearing
the groans that match her own, the recent memories of what
happened hit her.

She looks about sees Lucria crawling towards her. She sits
back on her haunches, not caring if her clothing has shredded
from various rocks. "Well, at least it's not a cage eh?" she
asks him with a smile and then tries to take stock of her
person. If nothing more than pride and clothing have been
sundered she will regard that as acceptable. She smiles at
him gratefully, "Well, it's not like its the first time I've
had my clothing ripped and shredded, just may be the first time
the earth took umbrage to my being." as she bursts out laughing,
the first time she's been able to laugh without acting in a
long time.

Once she is certain she is well enough, especially if she can
laugh about surviving whatever hit them, and Lucria has faired
just as well, she'll attempt to stand up on wobbly legs and
look about for others that might need help.

Arawn, who had been almost magnetically drawn to the altar,
remained unaware of the unconscious villagers as his senses
sought recovery. As he more fully came to his eyes danced along
the line of symbols marking the stone table, his gaze both
distant and intense at the same time while seeking interpretation
of that which lay before him.

Between the ebon monolith and the altar great magic was at
work, something the party would need to made aware of. With
his thoughts returning to them, his mind settling on the
present, he realized that the others might be in need.

Turning around he spotted the first of the unconscious
villagers, instinct driving him towards them, beginning with
the adolescent boy.

"We have injured villagers. Someone help me with them," he
informed the others, hoping that at least one or two would step
in to assist.

Unali approaches to help Arawn.

Although a trained healer humans were not his specialty, the
druid still learning under Z'leyra, but when tending to his own
he was a person of no mean skill. Hopefully it would be enough
for him to at least determine if the boy and the man were in
immediate danger of losing their lives.

Arawn glances up to see Z'leyra staring at her sister for
a reply. He understands she needs answer but she could
help. But then again this is a death zone with only one
exit, aside from skylights, trapping the party. The woman
could yell and bring warriors and it would be a serious fight.

"Keep away from the table for now," he warned the others as he
dropped to his knees beside the boy. "It appears to be an altar
and a powerful one at that."

He was working diligently when the click of the opening door
drew his attention. Involved as he was there was little he could
do to stop Fuk from slipping behind Z'layha and pressing the
dagger to her throat. Inwardly he groaned, hoping that Fuk's
effort to hide the group's presence wouldn't be one that would
hurt them more in the long run.

"Fuk, ease up on her. We're in the middle of a fortress,
surrounded by powerful magicians and a nation of warriors. She's
a suspect, not a criminal, and we're intruders here. Let's see if
we can get to the truth without starting a riot," he calmly urged
the man.

"Great magic brought us here and I may share words on this
once cooler heads once again dominate."

"And, Z'leyra, you might want to ask what year it is," he
oddly suggested to the shamaness.

Z'leyra spends a couple moments translating what people said.
She also asks "Sister, could you please sit down with no sudden
moves or spell casting and I will ask the man to put away his
knife?" In Marentian she says, "I have asked her to sit and not
cast spells and you should allow her to sit and you should put
away your knife."

Fuk glances around at Arawn's words in Marentian. He glances
back at the door. Realizes this may be a bad spot to fight.
He lowers his hand and steps back but still holding his dagger
at hand and stares at Z'layha.

Z'leyra asks her sister, "Do you speak Marentian?"

Z'layha shakes her head.

"If you don't I have a necklace enchanted to help the wearer
learn a language. Do you wish to use it to learn Marentian, the
language we are speaking?"

Z'leyra glances to the party, "There are several ways twins
can age differently. Upper or Lower World travel, the Balance
spell that slows the ravages of aging. Time travel need not be
involved."

Z'layha hears the strange words and the strange people. She
is finally released and then she sees Fremea. Her instinct is
to kill the demon. But her sister is here? Why? Why would
she bring people much less men to this sacred place. This very
sacred of sacred rooms.

"Ticasi? I only recall the details from father." She
shakes her head. "No. I never have nor plan to ever go there."

Z'layha wonders why the red head is laughing like a mad woman.
Then she notices the small man around the alter. She glares
but turns back to Z'leyra.

Arawn frowns when he checks the boy. There is no pulse.
Then he notices the angle of the boy's neck. It is clear it
has been broken and was probably instant death in the quake.
Arawn plans to do a prayer later but moves to the adult male
as Z'layha replies.

Lucria helps Mae stand.

Mournath and Kiet are able to dig Kell out and give him
some water. He is a bit dazed but seems fine. Aside from
coughing on the dirt and dust.

Dorhak circles to the rear of the alter and glances at
the runes and sigils. None that he seems to recognize. Then
Dorhak notices at the top of the rear facing away from the
party is a sigil that he seems to recognize. He tries to
recall but it takes a few moments.

Z'layha listens to Z'leyra request a sit down. "You intrude
in our sacred of sacreds and with these people?" She nods to
the party and villagers.

Arawn checks the male and finds he is just dazed. He is able
to revive him. But that may have been a bad choice. The man
sees the room and begins to shake his head in confusion and
chanting something about be gone evil spirits or such. But
for the most part the man is just bruised and only bleeding a bit
on his elbows. Arawn and Unali move toward the 3 females.

Z'layha frowns, "sit down in this dirt? I have my duties
to perform. You must all leave to the atrium and exit this
place immediately! Before the guards see you."

Z'leyra recalls the time spent here herself. But she has never
been here. It has to be in a high place in the fort for the
skylights. But why was she never allowed here?

Dorhak grunts in excitement. Yes. He has seen it was
in Arawn's book thing. When he showed Mournath that one
time. He explained it was a symbol for his cousin or dog?
No. Wait. It was something about his father or was it his
mother?

Z'layha rattles the tray of food. The wide silver tray
is carrying 4 large pitchers of some drink. There are a half
dozen bowls and containers that must be food. The tray seems
to be very heavy. This causes the woman to move toward the
alter.

Arawn kneels down and doesn't see the dwarf or Z'layha near
the alter. He just hopes he did not make the wrong mistake
by studying the alter later. The first female seems to have
a broken ankle but otherwise seems fine. Unali reports the
second one only has scrapes and cuts.

Z'layha places the tray on the center of the alter/table.
She turns and crosses her arm and moves toward Z'leyra. "I
do not wish to use this necklace thing until I get some
answers. You said you were in Kam and now here? What-"

Dorhak grunts at the tray and wonders if he can just get
some of it. The fall seems to have stirred up his hunger
a bit. But then the sigil begins to glow. He looks around
to see if anyone notices. He waves for Kell who is nearby
but the trader is watching the door as if waiting for more
folks to enter.

Z'layha turns to the slight buzz. She stops talking. She
glances at the alter and then toward Z'leyra. "No!"

[Time: 4:59 pm]

"It is too soon!" She begins to turn and move toward
the door.

Lucria pulls out his whip to stop her from getting help.

Fuk stands from checking the dead boy and begins to
move toward Z'layha.

"The Tribute must be done with no one here!" She
reaches about 10 feet before the door when Lucria snaps
his whip and trips the woman. "No!"

Fremea flies toward the woman as well.

Suddenly the stone door slams shut with a large clank
echoing in the room.

Arawn notices this all happening and stands. He thinks
he hears Dorhak call his name. He glances over and sees
Dorhak pointing to the back which he can't see.

Then Arawn sees the silver tray on the alter and notices
some of the runes glowing. He moves toward the alter.

A Flash....

It seems like Kiet is heard saying something about not
again?

Darkness...

An eternity....

Some begin to wake up again. This time there is no
light. In fact its dark and hazy as if the place is
full of smoke. Everyone is laying down. Except Fremea
who was flying toward the woman hits what seems to be
a low hanging rock? Blam. Lanterns. Rocks. She grumbles.

It seems the first thing the party hears is Kiet screaming
to wake up. Maybe not screaming but at least trying to get the
party to wake up.

As the party begin to stir and sit up the scene has changed.
No longer in a room. It seems this a large cavern? This
almost niche of open area is surrounded by 3 walls left, right
and to the rear. There is no longer a chill but in fact it
is rather very hot. Mae who is almost half naked is the
only one to feel some comfort compared to those who are wearing
winter clothing.

There is a humid fog/haze that seems to be the color of
yellow and white. The smell of sulfur is in the air and can
be tasted.

The niche is about 50 feet long and about 30 feet wide.
There seems to be a stone table in the center but this
time there does not seem to be any adornments. It is a simple
wooden structure 5 by 6 feet. Sitting on top is the food
and drinks on top of the tray.

Directly in front of the party a large mist/haze climbs
from what looks like a inferno. Dorhak who is closest to
the edge crawls to the side and almost loses his mace in
a bit of shock. Below is a fiery molten blaze. It seems
to be a river of lava going from left to right. The lava
river is about 8 feet long but seems to go under the walls
to who knows where.

Dorhak feels sweat pour from his forehead and sizzle to
nothing before it hits halfway to the lava some 5 feet away.
The lava stream itself is about 10 feet below.

But aligned with the table some 30 feet away at the border
of the lava pit is a stone bridge. The bridge is about 2.5
to 3 feet wide. It seems to be from Dorhak's point of view
about 4 feet tall. It crosses the span of lava to another
section of cave where Kiet is standing and waving.

Below him it seems there are various pieces of gear
collected around him.

At his feet are some gear and in his arms is more. Unali
recognizes that her magical sling is in his arms. Pan
notices his bow and quiver is on the other side. Arawn notices
that his helmet and buckler are in Kiet's arms for some reason.

Fuk and Lucria notice their swords are at Kiet's feet. At
least they assume their since it is missing from their
sheathes.

Dorhak wonders why his shield is hanging on Kiet's arm?

Z'leyra notices her staff is leaning against Kiet. She
notices her satchel at his feet. She also notices her
dragon helm tied around his arm. She notices her great sword
being hefted up into his arms.

Actions? Comments?
Next Update.. Unknown?

GM: A good place to stop. At this point things will move
very slowly. BTW the boy is missing. The 4 villagers
are still here. The haze is thick and hard to see past
much longer than 5-6 feet. Now I plan to send pc to
shop Saturday to get fan replaced. I don't know if they
will need it overnight. I also plan to get a new medium
to copy data to since cd/dvdr is dead as well. So II
can clean that pc off and get rid of it eventually.

When will next update? Don't know. If they need it
overnight it could be a couple days. So unsure if
Monday will be viable. I can try Tue/Wed but have
a few things busy to do. So at very least I can try
a week from Saturday or as best could try Monday.

I can post to give you guys updates though. Stay tuned.
Z'lena -> Z'layha. Dwarves screwd up again. I removed
some ale rations. It was Z'layha. Z'lena was the sister
who died.
With Lucria's help, Maelorna stands up and looks about to get her bearings
and her heart skips a beat as she stops and stares at an alter. Something
that easily causes every nerve in her body to scream out in warning as she
can still remember the screams of fear from the victim her mother and the
cultists she belonged to had strapped to it and not understanding the
significance. She manages in a soft voice, "I want to leave now please,
this isn't a safe place." as can't tear her eyes away from the altar.

She pulls her gaze away to look at the twin of Z'leyra and fights the urge
to look back and stare at the alter. Then the world goes white yet again.

'Home! Wake up little sister, bask in the glory of what home with the
family will be like!' the voice sounds almost jubilant as Maelorna once
again groans from waking up, every muscle feels like she's gone several
miles of running. She can smell the familiar stench of sulfur and taste
it, waking up more memories of living in the wasteland.

The warmth is almost comforting as she finally opens her eyes to the scene
which makes her wonder just where they are at now. If she's somewhat
sound, she'll look for Lucria first, then Arawn, then the others, before
she stands up carefully.

"Ok, did someone call us here or did we do something to be brought here?"
she asks, finding that the oppressive heat isn't a true bother at all. She
looks at Arawn, "I didn't do anything this time, I swear. No summoning, I
swear it."
