[Recap]

From Don: [Re: Rules]
When first
creating the character, while speaking w/the GM
over skype, I had
rolled up the special attribute Shape Changer,
but it was already
given that the character was a shape shifter.
The next roll was
immunity and then law on the next table.

If it's not
allowed, then so be it, not worried about it,
it's what I had
rolled, as the GM stated it wasn't total
immunity, but more
like a resistance. I'm not sure how it
worked out But
considering what Mae is and capable of doing,
it might be
overkill/powered and if not needed, then retcon
what she had
stated and nothing at was said about her immunity
to Law.
GM: Ack. Ok. That
jogs a cell. You only had the innate
ability to change to your Succ form. So the SC SA was
a NEW
one for doing shape changing for everything else.
That
is probably what happened.

From David: [Re: Actions]
The rule book says
total immunity. The GM has total
discretion over
the results, however. That level of immuni
ty would tend to
unbalance things. Instead, he's probably
treating it like
you would an immunity amulet, where your
immunity EL is
subtracted from the Law spell EL.
GM: Ack. The issue is
that its not on sheet. So this is all being
bought
up a long time after. So I was surprised. But it
is a
bit diametrically odd that a Chaos would have some
immunity to Law in the first place based on alignment. But
that
doesn't mean it can't happen. Just the mythos on it is
a bit
odd and since I cheated heavily on the character as is
I
figure such a thing would be over power. But since its
not on
sheet I guess it was figured out some reason or
another then.

From Unali: [Re: Actions]
When Raki goes
down and the party is posed with the...

"Arawn, use
the Cryx to get us out of here. I guess...
GM: Ack. Thanks.

From Don: [Re: Actions]
That may be the
issue, but after talking with the GM on
skype. Will have
to retcon what she stated about her abilities
It had been
discussed during character creation, but the gm had
forgotten about it
and hadn't written it down on the character
sheet when they
looked it over and accepted it/returned it to
me.

So, as for her
"secrets" she doesn't truly have any, other
than the side her
Sire gave her.
GM: Ack. Well I sent the
sheet to you again. Review and let
me
know anything missing. I had assumed it was done when
I sent
the final sheet way back. And memory would've been
more
fresh. :) But with this 'gift' I will tweak the
leeching stuff soon as its literally new territory rule wise.

From Z'leyra: [Re:
Actions]
To her sister
Z'leyra responds "Just before arriving here....
GM: Ack. Insub you are
limited on spells one can cast. :)

From Mae: [Re: Actions]
Try #2, let's see
if Gmail will fail to send this time.

Maelorna watches
the others move about and works on the various
wards, successful
or not she can't truly tell. 'Well don't
just stand there,
move and do something you stupid girl, unless
you want to
remain,' the voice taunts her.
GM: Ack. Sorry if this had
come in 2 updates I'd have given you a lot
of
chaos wards to dispel. But since I only saw that post
about
summoning a thing to do so I never saw your request for
it
till now. Sorry. :<

From Kiet: [Re: Actions]
Well, maybe just
thoughts....

Kiet is pretty
pleased with himself over the first few wards. Not
GM: Ack. A great post on
introspection's. Great stuff David.
RP
bonus! Kappa Kappa!

From Arawn: [Re: Actions]
OOC:
I'm strongly of
the impression that the injury to Raki isn't
physical in nature
(on top of the fact that he regenerates)
and will require
the Cryx (or possibly an Energy spell).
However I'll let
Scott clarify things for us. If Scott rules
or strongly
indicates that a simple healing device, Unali's
amulet, will be
enough to save Raki then Arawn will use the
Cryx to end the
ward.

If he rules
otherwise or if the answer remains strongly unc
lear then Arawn is
with Kiet, not wishing to sacrifice Raki,
and will use the
Cryx to save him.

Either
way...

IC:

There is a look of
grim determination on Arawn's...

"I'll deal
with my father's ward," Arawn said,...
GM: Ack. I can rule the sky is
purple. Doesn't make it so.
You
got to work with what was given. If I give
answer
it will affect actions and actions need to be
done
as is. So in this case it could be physical or
it
could be mental damage. So decide on what you were
given
:). Not being mean here but this is why the event
is
timed. Hesitation and dialogue clicks down that time.
I did
give 2 words to a major hint in the last update.:)
You
even bought sad situation back recently in a email
awhile
back. :) If you need a copy of the script you'll
have
to apply for a permit from the Soul Davia in my office.

From Arawn: [Re: actions]
OOC: Arawn will
answer this question for Z'leyra but as I
don't know just
yet I'll wait for Scott to answer it on
Arawn's
behalf.
GM: Ack. You mean the
one on Z'layha? Technically her words
I
assume were a whisper said privately. That question?

From Arawn: [Re: Actions]
OOC:

Using the Cryx to
reactivate the wards - Done!

Healing damage
inflicted on casters - Arawn will share his
Healing Kit with
Z'leyra so the two of them can tend to the
wounds
inflicted.

As the party makes
the 50-60 story climb:

OOC: As the group
moves on to dispelling wards Arawn should
take the time to
explain what he knows of this place, its
creation. His
explanation likely won't be as detailed but as
time is short and
there's a lot to type up I'm just
copying/pasting
here to allow everyone to get the gist.

[Dream sections
removed for space - Folks SHOULD read
his post for
details]

Runes:

I'm a bit confused
by this. So is what Z'layha's is seeing
a trick to be
ignored? Or is this something for us to
actually be
concerned with?

If this does seem
to be something to be concerned with...

"Fremea is
present, both here and in her test,...
GM: Ack. Folks should
read the dream posts in your post
as no
need to include her efors pace. As to Kit you
want Z
to heal folks when things are counting down
and
magic for healing doesn't work here? Just making
sure. As to runes she paraphrased it and to her she
sees
it if you want to ignore it so be it. Keep in mind
deciphering runes and talking about it does take time
away
from clock. :)

From Mae: [Re: Actions]
Try #3, lets see
if Gmail will fail to send this time.

(OOC after
speaking w/Scott, hadn't realized all the Chaos
wards are dead so
Retcon time)

Maelorna watches
the others as they work to remove the...

"I do not
know if this will even respond to me, ...
TM: Ack. You didn't say
what you were summoning? Reminder
it will take
time and in this plane this may not work
plus if
Arawn tries to do it its a one chance event
so miss it
and party dies.

------------------------------------------------------------
[New Stuff]

[Febris 9th,
1635TH]
[Time: 5:01
pm]

[Before the Final
Ward...]

To her
sister Z'leyra responds. "Just before arriving here we
rescued her from
bad men. She seemed to be a human slave. If she
attacks or hurts
us we will deal with her. Until then she can
be a valued member
of the party."

Kiet
is pretty pleased with himself over the first few wards.
Not only did he
handle his own allotment of the Elder spells,
and without a
failure, but also has to handle two of them for
Z! That was
just plain crazy. Certainly she is a far more
accomplished Mage
than Kiet...but there it is. A fine
accomplishment in
and of itself.

Kiet
thanks Unali for the use of her anti-Law wand. He
wonders, however,
under what circumstances she reserves that
for. And for
whom. Most wands cannot be used my non-magic
users. Kiet
wonders enough to want to ask, but refrains,
knowing she won't
likely answer. Perhaps later, in a more
private
venue. Kiet nods to her in clear admiration of the
preparedness, and
says "Very wise."

When
it comes time to deal with the rest of these cursed Law
wards he must
profess his nervousness over his likelihood of
success. His odds
seem poor. Still, he may be one of the few
that could even
attempt these and, oddly, maybe the best
prepared (highest
EL). While Kiet may actually know and use a
couple of low
energy Law spells (survivalist skills that his
teacher insisted
upon), he has rather a great deal of disdain
for them in
general. They are, after all, nothing but the
mummery of those
despicable Fomorians. While using such
spells makes Kiet
feel dirty, he does have to admit that his
teacher was right,
and further admit the usefulness of always
having food and
water available. Even for his horse, Ma Siwang.
Kiet idly wonders
where his horse is right now.

Time
to get started in earnest! Ward after ward fall.
Kiet's surprised
but also encouraged, his confidence soaring.
Then, something
very unusual happens. He casts the counter-
spells, and he
fells like he's in his zone. Everything goes
right. Not
just right, but great! After the casts, he feels
amazing, like he
could do almost anything. Then, sure as
Fomorians are
rude, reality and fortune reared up as Kiet
failed one
cast. Kiet was thrilled that the ward's magic
didn't cause
any direct harm. Still, it was disturbing to
see his own name
appear on the ward. Kiet furrowed his brows
trying to remember
any spells that might do that...and try to
puzzle out
why. What does it mean?

Still,
that many successful casts was far beyond his
expectation.
He looks forward to understanding the improvements
in his skills this
might bring.

Just
before the final wards, the exploding magic...unknown
if it was, indeed,
a ward...knocks down Raki and he takes poor
Dorhak with him.
Kiet yells out "No!" when he sees this. Kiet
hopes that maybe a
little bit of Kell, and Kell's memories,
can make it back
to the middle world. Besides being useful,
it would also
provide a way to honor his friend.

[At Final
Ward...]

Kiet,
wanting to help Raki, calls out at first "Help Raki!"
After the others
start talking, Kiet calms down a bit from his
initial emotional
outburst. There is logic behind the
suggestions.
We need be to be able to get home or having Raki
along is
meaningless. Still, Raki is important to Kiet, so he
still looks for
alternatives. "Look...I expect I'm going to
have to help with
one of those final wards, and I don't really
look forward to
it! But even then, isn't there anything anyone
else can do
against the one by Payan? Sacrificing Raki, to whom
we owe much, is
just wrong! Anyone?"

When
Raki goes down and the party is posed with the choice
to use the Cryx,
Unali starts rummaging in her pack in search
of her
amulets.

"Arawn, use the Cryx to get us out of here. I guess enough
time has passed
that the amulets should have power again. I
will use them on
Raki."

"I am tapped out. Even with the staff there is only so much
I can cast per
day. To be there and not there MAY indicate
that it is a
travel ward and must be dealt with while
insubstantial. I
don't know for sure. Fremea, Arawn, does it
look like that is
the case?" Z'leyra adds to the discussion.

There
is a look of grim determination on Arawn's face as
he turns to face
Payan's ward. Crafted by his father it was
fitting for Arawn
to end it. Plus he was the one most likely
to succeed. He
just hoped that he might succeed before things
turned truly and
even more dire for the party.

"I'll deal with my father's ward," Arawn said, staring
ahead.

"Fremea is present, both here and in her test, outside linear
time, seen and
unseen. Her other self can hear us talk in her
test. Perhaps both
versions of Fremea need to work together
to end things, if
we, or this Fremea, can get the 'other'
Fremea's
attention," Arawn offered up as a suggestion.

Maelorna watches the others as they work to remove the wards
and sighs,
"Not much help and the creatures I know I can summon
to assist, may not
be of much help, but let me see what I can
try," she
offers as she starts to go through a list of things that
might help and
brightens up when she remembers one.

"I do not know if this will even respond to me, considering
what I am, but we
shall see. They aren't evil but neither are
they, good."
as she starts to recall the words needed to summon
one of the
creatures.

She
gives an innocent smile and starts to feed the energy
needed to summon
the creature before her, softly whispering
the words
needed.

Some
view up the stairs to see the green light turn a bit
of yellow tinge
color.

Update....Saturday..

GM: So last
Saturday I was 20 min to stopping was spell
checking and then got Arawn's 3 posts and emails then
Mae's. So that stopped that. So was delayed and then
other stuff for yesterday. So consider this done for
now and next Saturday will start at 5pm EST unless
I am off early then it might be 2pm on. So let' me
give a better word image of the scene.

Stairs are helix-spiral style. Every 15 steps is
a landing that is 10x10 feet. Each landing had each
ward on the wall. One main wall with side walls
for 3 sides of landing but side walls not that big
as it ascends as normal stairs would for a wall. So
main wards/runes are on the back wall.

So from landing you turn and see stairs down and stairs
up. It is about 7-8 steps each and then twists out of
sight. Around the corner the exact thing for scene
appears.

So top/final ward is one level up. So where the party
got the warning and was zapped it was one level (landing)
below. So you can't see the ward from here. Does this
make sense? You have to ascend and turn corner to see the
ward wall. At top of the stairs you see the diamond
crystal that zapped Raki and threw the Mana Bomb.

So if you ascend the 8 or so steps then twist to
look at the new ward above that is the diamond.

Hope this helps? Now once you climb up to the new
level there are 2 set of runes on the side walls and
partially on main ward. So each person who dispels
must be at each side of the wall to act. In the
center of said wall is a door. All attempts to open
it fails and probably could enact magic defenses.

So clear those wards and door opens and freedom.

So party will have to ascend and dispel and done.

Due to talking the time has jumped but I will not
act until next post and all is confirmed.

Key points of reminding:

* Wards: High Level Wards of Neutral / Law
* One Chance to dispel as warned
* Timed event - unknown time only visual clue of
the diamond crystal as warning.
* Use Cryx on Ward or Raki
* Unali will use magical aide to help Raki

So next update if things are confirmed I will do the
rolls. I will not move the party on till then since
this is a do or die situation. The Fremea suggestion
could be expanded if need be. If you guys need more
times I can also delay it until a plan is formed. But
keep in mind talk increased the grains of sand.

GM: Planned
actions

Arawn - Major hint in the update when projection
warned group. So assume will use Cryx and
such on Neutral Ward.

Dorhak : Stand and grumble

Fremea: Scan for magic events or surprises?

Kiet: Dispel Law ward with Staff/Ring?

Kell: Yell and scream the answers to the problem? :)

Unali: Heal Raki with item and help upstairs.

Mae: Summon creature to do something. Dispel which
ward?

Pyan: Look confused and bored? :)

Z'leyra: Help Unali get Raki upstairs.

Z'layha: Try to analyze words only she can see.
