[Recap]

From Pyan: [Re: Actions]
Pyan gets his bow
and arros ready to fire at the ward. :)
GM: Ack. Sorry for not much
for you to do. During IBT
you
will have time to do stuff. I try to make stuff
for
everyone but this prison aside from combat is not
much
for you guys to do. Hopefully next adventure
will
be better. But I DO appreciate the post its better
than
nothing and shows you're still active. Appreciated.

From Kiet: [Re: Actions]
OOC...If Kiet must

Kiet gathers
himself, however. Taking his time, he...
GM: Ack. You don't HAVE to
dispel it your choice. :)

From David: [Re: Bonus]
Yay!...RP
bonus...whatever that might bring...because I have
no idea...I was
just thinking I was having diarrhea of the
keyboard...
GM: Ack. Well I do keep
mental and physical track of RP. Its
a old
arbitray system from the '80s. For those like in a
table
top game who just stare and grunt well not much
if any
for them. But those who are very detailed and
explicit like yourself and Arawn (among others) then yeah
I
notice these things. As to the benefit there is some but
its
more behind scenes stuff. :)

From Mae: [Re: Actions]
Maelorna sighs,
'No pressure,' she mentally chides herself,...
From Dorhak [Re:

[New Stuff]

[Febris 9th,
1635TH]
[Time: 5:01
pm]

[At the last Ward
area...]

Kiet
is clearly nervous about attempting this Law ward.
It's foolishness
to attempt such a thing against the power of
a god. But there
seems to be little choice. At least if he
fails here, the
end might be quick instead of drawn out,
starving, and
knowing we are only steps from 'home'.

Kiet
looks around to see if any takers for the Law Ward. Then
realize none take
the opportunity.

Kiet
gathers himself, however. Taking his time, he meditates
for as long as he
thinks he might have time. Working as
carefully as he
can, he gathers his mana carefully, precisely,
and is careful to
speak his words (in Katai ) with careful
enunciation.
He then will cast at his maximum EL...and stand
there as boldly as
his little 5'6" frame allows, not quite
daring the gods to
strike him, but strong in the knowledge that
he did everything
he possibly could.

Before
casting Kiet is loaned Z'leyra's staff and luck ring
to help him.
He figures the Cryx and his almost divine nature
will help Arawn
out luck wise. He waits for Arawn to climb the
stairs to the
wards on the last landing all the while staring
at the diamond
crystal wary.

Maelorna sighs, 'No pressure,' she mentally chides herself,
as Kiet yells out
save the two males.

'Oh look
what the little sister is trying to do, they won't
respond you
know. Even if it does, I have it under good
authority that it
will try and kill you' the voice taunts as
Maelorna ignores
it.

She
tries her best to imagine less impure thoughts, wishing
for once that the
damned voice would just shut up.

She
continues to feed the energy that's needed to maintain
the spell and keep
any doubts out of her thoughts.

Our
young dwarf is quite wroth over Raki taking him with
the shape changer
down the stairs and in a heap. Dorhak brushes
himself off and
doesn't quite kick Raki. More of like a rough
nudge with his
booted foot. Dorhak also curses in his own
tongue.

He
doesn't really understand everything being said, but he
did at least have
someone kind enough to explain the so-called
riddle to
him. Dorhak was struck with a thought and says "You
know, being here
but not here also describes our dearly
departed.
You know. The human with the funny hat. The dead
guy. Maybe
he has something to contribute. Too bad this guy,"
he points his toe
at Raki, "can't talk to him any more."

Kell
hovers and circles the group wanting to yell the
answer and seems
to read Dorhak's mind. "Yes Yes!"

But it
seems since Raki is down he can't be heard.

Arawn
motions for Kiet and both climb the stairs. AS
they do Arawn
confers asking how long it will take to cast
the spell.
They must do it both at the same time or it
will fail even if
one ward is ended. With a estimated time
they decide on a
count of 9 seconds. Once Arawn gets the
mark and that
should give time to gather and concentrate.
But Kiet just
looks at the diamond crystal now glowing
yellow wondering
how long before it turns red.

Getting to the next landing Arawn studies the area and finds
the two wards and
runes. The runes are functional only with
no information or
clues. In between is the 'door' that is
probably just a
construct a metaphysical door only. Arawn
can sense great
magic. He doesn't tell Kiet that dispelling
this magic may be
impossible. It might be bad for his mental
concentration. Arawn pats Kiet on the back and points to the
Law ward on the
right. Arawn moves to the left and casts
a Luck spell upon
himself. Arawn considers a purification spell
but the area is
too small and it could affect both wards and
hinder one while
helping the other. Plus the ground here seems
to be highly
sensitive or purified already to Balance. But
this is only a
guess. Course Arawn also knows a purification
spell is a direct
connection to the gods without such in this
place it would be
futile.

Down
one flight Unali places the healing talisman on Raki's
chest and
activates it. She hopes the time has passed. But
if her theory is
correct it has based on beards and the hunger
pangs. Sure
enough green energy floods all over Raki.

Soon
Raki opens his eyes and Unali and Z'leyra help him
up. "It
was nothing...but blackness..." Shaking his head
he looks around
and wonders if he'll be attacked again.

Then
the diamond crystal between the two landings does
not turn purple to
fire but red. A soft red.

Kiet
glances back at the red light on the walls. Time
is up.

Arawn
raises the Cryx and nods to Kiet to organize both
dispel
spells. Since Arawn doesn't know how the Cryx works
he leans in and
touches the Cryx against the Neutral Ward
gem.

From
below the party hears the words and rush up the stairs.
Raki lifts up
Kell's body and turns as if to hear something.

Kiet's
spell works very well with the luck and staff helping
and blasts the
ward with non visual energy.

Arawn's however base spell is average but the other factors
he has placed on
himself with prayers and the Cryx boosts it
down a bit fairly
better quality.

The
diamond ward begins to blink a bright red.

As the
party ascend the steps they watch as the two try
to end this and
escape. The words are cast and nothing seems
to happen.
One second. Two seconds. Three.

Dorhak
glances at the diamond crystal showing a tinge of
purple in its red.
He wonders if he runs now he could
make it away far
enough. But Dwarves do not run.

Then
dust seems to explode outward from the center wall in
between both spell
caster. The dust shoots out as if a gust of
wind blew them
outward from the wall. The dust seems to form a
nice
rectangle. Then the edges of the 'door' seems to glow white
and yellow.
Then the door swings outward onto the other
side of whatever
is there.

Arawn
grits his teeth and yells to go. Kiet wonders if he
should go
first. But Fremea actually dashes through the 'door'
and into the
whiteness beyond disappearing. Kiet shrugs and
dashes behind
her.

Soon
one by one each person exits with Raki and Arawn being
the last
one. Raki stares at Arawn. Why is he still holding
the Cryx against
the ward?

Because it will not release Arawn realizes. He tries to
pull away using
all his strength. But it is like a direct
connection from
ward gem to Cryx to him. He uses both
hands to try to
pull his arm away to no avail.

Raki
passes the threshold and places Kell's body on the
ground on the
other side.

Kell
in spirit form yells at Arawn but he can't be
heard or
understood.

Raki
sticks his head back through the threshold and notices
a glow of purple
is getting more intense in the diamond crystal.
Raki turns to
Arawn, "Kell says to give one last shove and
he'll take
over."

Arawn
grunts thinking you don't think I've tried?

So
this is how it ends. Stuck in a prison world made
with help from his
own father.

Raki
then extends a large re-formed hand and grabs Arawn's
shoulder and
yanks.

Raki
watches as Kell who is up against the wall by the
ward reaches out
and grabs the Cryx.

The
force of Raki's yank, Kell's mental shove and
Arawn breaks the
connection. Arawn stumbles backwards
on his
back.

Kell
grabs the Cryx and suddenly becomes visible to
Arawn. It
seems the magic of the Cryx is making him
at least
seen. "Go Arawn!"

Arawn
gets to his knees but realizes time is up. the
the diamond ward
flashes purple and a beam of purple energy
shoots right for
Arawn.

Arawn
rolls and is able to avoid the blast He get to his
feet as Raki ducks
back to the other side.

Kell
smiles at Arawn, "go before you try to talk your
way out of this
with that thing." He glances at the
ward as it builds
up more energy.

Arawn
wonders if Kell will be stuck behind but the
ward is about to
fire again. Arawn steps forward to
grab the Cryx
again if he can free both. That stubborn
nature of
his. But Kell gives a battle roar so fierce
it stops Arawn in
his tracks.

On the
other side the others hear this roar. Kiet wonders
that sounded
almost like Kell?

Arawn
turns to the threshold and dives for the door.

But it
is too late.

A
purple beam hits Arawn squarely in the back. Before
his next step
Arawn sees death arrive as he stumbles through
the
threshold.

On the
other side several things happen. As the
timed ward action
ends this occurs for everyone at
the same
time.

For
Dorhak, Kiet and Pyan their beards and hair suddenly
grow. For
the humans the beard grows what seems like months
of growth.
For Dorhak's his already long beard falls below
his waist
now.

For
the entire party throats seem parched dry as if from
months in a desert
very thirsty. Hunger also makes some
bend in extreme
pain as if not ate for weeks.

For
Fremea, Unali, Z'leyra and Z'layha their own hair grows
longer as
well.

Mae
wonders what happened to her summoned help. Did it
fail or just take
too long. But the second she passes
through the
threshold The Pain is too much. Clenching
her fists she
snarls. She slams with her full body and wings
against Dorhak and
begins to feed from his energy reserves.
The voice in her
mind cackles in delight. But Mae can
understand that
this is not under her control. It is now
instinct and she
hopes she does not kill Dorhak.

For
Kell though those who watch it begins to decay. With
no life
preservation magic the body slowly dissolves and
decays. The smell
is intense and causes folks to gap and
almost lose
it. As flesh evaporates from the trader's body
bones are soon
seen as if he was dead for a long time.

Kiet
and Z'layha rushes to Mae to try to stop her but
the raging-hunger
failed half-breed is using a vice grip
on Dorhak's
arm.

Dorhak
tries to bash the woman with his shield but the
vice grip is
hindering that a bit. He is able to bash her
shoulders a few
times to no avail.

Then
Arawn's body stumbles through the threshold with a smoking
hole in his
back.

Horrified Z'leyra and Unali rush to help. But the hole is
devastating.
There is no sign of life.

Raki
stands seeing all this but seems to turn to the east
wall and
stares.

Pyan
wrinkles his nose at the first sign of old dust and
ancient
furniture. The room is about 20 by 20 and seems to
be a store house
of some kind. There are broken and aged
crates that
might've been new centuries ago. Aside from
the broken crates
there is a door in the north wall opposite
the mystical
threshold. Then the smell of the decaying
Kell hits him and
he almost loses it.

Suddenly at foot of the threshold a female in flowing green
gown and green
hair with looks of a Fay appears. She stands
about 5' 7 and
looks around. Normally summoning a being in the
prison would be
impossible. But when the threshold was opened
the bridge was
made between both plans.

The
female Abnari looks down to see Arawn and realizes
why she is
here. But suddenly before she can do anything
she is sucked into
the prison world where she was to be
summoned
at.

Kell
looks at the Abari and then suddenly the Cryx flares
and dies.
The magical energy fades and Kell is now free.
"Hello.
I must be going."

Kell
floats toward the threshold just as it begin to
slam shut.
Forming a wall once again.

The
Abnari looks around confused.

"Hello."

The
Abnari turns to sees Arawn floating nearby.

"Welcome." The projection scans the Abnari's
mind.

"I'm afraid you are now here in a prison. We need to
talk..."

In the
Middle World in the Moss Fortress bowels the
group deals with
the new threats.

As
Z'leyra tries to wonder if Arawn can even be saved
she figures it
might be hopeless with that large a wound
and half his heart
gone and exposed. But she realizes her
own wounds are now
fully healed when moments ago they were
still
there.

Kiet
with Z'leyra's staff still in hand begins to use it
as a vice around
Mae and tries to pull her away. He then
wonders if she
could turn on him.

Suddenly the door opens and a person in a long black robe
enters. As
the light from the prison fades darkness falls
on the room.
Making seeing impossible aside from Fremea.

She
watches the man with robe and full hood move toward
Arawn. It
pulls something out of his robe. "Use this on
him."
It seems to say in a very man like deep voice in a
accent that is
hard to determined.

Z'leyra startled by the new presence finds something
shoved into her
hands.

Fremea
watches the being move away toward Raki. "You
have something for
me?"

Raki
stops his staring and reaches into his chest and
pulls out a
glowing yellow orb. This now shines bright
into the room and
everyone sees the shrouded man in robe
and hood.
Raki hands the orb to the being. "Everything
that happened
inside from the Guardian. Experiences and
other
things."

The
being takes the orb and moves quickly toward the
door.

Pyan
considers stopping this being but looks to others
for help but sees
they are all active in the Mae and
Arawn
situations.

Fremea
also considers stopping the being but realizes
now Arawn looks
dead. She flies toward the one man who
taught her so
much.

The
being steps through the door and out of sight.

Pyan
rushes to the door and looks out but there is no
man in robes but
just a short hallway. Where did the
being go?

As the
room fades into total darkness again Z'leyra
only has a couple
seconds to glimpse the object. it
seems to be a
amulet on a chain. Could this be some
magic to help
Arawn?

Fremea
though senses the object is full of magical
energy and kneels
to check her friend out.

Update....Saturday..

GM: Exciting huh?
:) Kiet has a good roll on dispel.
But Arawn did fail but the Cryx and other stuff he
did helped. So it was very close to death for entire
party. But at what cost now? :)

For Mae the hunger is just too great. Unless she
is sated and can get back control she is rather
hungry.

For Kell I figured the hints on beards in past would've
kind of pointed out time passing as well as healing
and such. But guess the hint passed folks by. So
his body suffered. :<

Once the party entered the threshold time lapsed
quickly for party not for middle world. So they
"caught up" time wise. How much time? Who knows.
:)

So now what folks. How to deal with Mae without
killing or such? :) What about the device for
Arawn? Risk it or hope magical healing can do it
and save him assuming time is short for him?

To clarify the time limit ran out so while Wards
were dispelled the time ran out so THAT ward went
active and fired at Araren. As to the threshold
think of it as a time transition. The party caught
up with the middle world and so time passed quickly.
