[Recap]

From Z'leyra: [Re:
Actions]
Z'leyra helps
Arawn sit up then says to her sister Z'layha
"I am sorry
that I did not realize that we were on...
GM: Ack.

From Kiet: [Re: Actions]
"Are we going
after the other shifter or letting him....
GM: Ack.

From Fremea: [Re:
Actions]
Fremea shakes her
head at Z, leaving the killer to go...
GM: Ack. Once Z changed
history and did a Doc Brown/Back to
Future
thing it changed history and your knowledge. So
the
Metal Clan did kill(?) Tiren. But the lone shifter
was
there to steal the notebook with secrets. Or was he
there
to get it to spread so that he could lure someone
to the
Kameran lands to free his people? I changed the
words
of 'your father' to many which he was a killer of
many. So hope this is acceptable. I know I really
HATE
time travel the confusion alone.

From Z'leyra: [Re:
Actions]
"Right."
Z'leyra decides " Okay, let us get after that...
GM: Ack. As posted last
update if days or weeks or whatever
transpired then mana should be full for everyone as stated
at
bottom of last update.

From Arawn: [Re: Actions]
Arawn came to, his
eyes flying open as his mind sought...

"Someone's
going to have to catch me up on what I missed," he..
GM: Ack. Very good
introspections.

From Arawn: [Re: Actions]
Arawn was in
agreement with those that had already...

"I can
translocate us out of here if this place...
GM: Ack. Dang! I forgot
you guys bought the young Boy
that
was teleported to the lava room. So yeah like
Kell
he would be a small set of skeleton. So I'd
assumed in boy/dead form he'd be carried over to
the
other side so yeah he'd have to be carried as well.

From Kiet: [Re: Actions]
Kiet is having a
great deal of trouble with the passing...

"Raki...is
there anything that can force your kind out...
GM: Ack.

From Dorhak: [RE:
Actions]
Dorhak is thrilled
with being released from the grip...
GM: Ack. It's like Q from ST:
TNG you hate the guy but love the
guy. Is he good or bad? :)

[New Stuff]

[Febris 9th,
1635TH]
[Time: 5:01
pm??]

Z'leyra helps Arawn sit up then says to her sister Z'layha
"I am sorry
that I did not realize that we were on some other
plane and thus
forgot to cast any protections against time and
aging. I can later
try to Cure Age on those who feel they have
aged too much. But
for now, are we past any wards that would
prevent us from
teleporting back to where this began? I would
prefer that we not
have to explain our being in a restricted
place and that we
keep the Kameri powers that be calm and not
upset with us. Can
we stay hidden until we can teleport back?"

Z'layha begins to shift from foot to foot. "If this is
indeed
the fortress then
the Tribute Room is upstairs." She points to
the ceiling.
This looks to be the lower sub-`basement and
so this place
looks like it hasn't been visited in years. But
for now I really
have to ahem...relieve myself."

As she
says this it seems so do the others who must've built
up those reserves
for days or whatever time has passed.

Kiet
glances at Raki staring back at the wall on the
right.
"Are we going after the other shifter or letting him
get away with his
crimes?"

Fremea
shakes her head at Z, leaving the killer to go free.
"No, the
killer of many cannot go free. It is time for that one
to pay." She
turns to Raki/Kell, "Can you show me how to track
this other one
that is similar to you? Whether or not Z wants
justice, this was
the goal and I will not leave it unfinished."

"Right." Z'leyra decides " Okay, let us get after that
shifter
and stop it from
doing more evil. Anyone have the skill and mana
to teleport us
after him?"

Raki
turns to glance at Z'leyra's comments and then back at
the wall.
Then back toward Fremea. "I don't know if I can
teach you.
These walls are thick. I can just sense him.
Like I did in the
others. These walls affect the sense but
he can't be more
than a few miles away. It seems in that
direction." He points to the wall.

Z'layyha just can't help it. She scurries to the lower
left wall and
relieves herself day's worth of buildup. She
stands and frowns
in the darkness for that corner. "Sorry.
I just...couldn't
hold it." She moves back into the hand
made by Raki's
weird hands. "I have no idea what direction
that is. To
the south and south west is the river. But to
the east is
forest. If that is where he is he can hide.
If that is to the
east then less hiding area. This teleport
thing? It
can get us out of here? if so it is our best
bet to avoid the
people upstairs."

Raki
continues, "once I get outside I might be able to
find him
better."

Z'layha places hands on hips. "How could this one live
for so long?
Do you not age? Why isn't this one hunted
down by the other
gods."

Raki
shrugs, "when I was here we seem to age slowly.
But our
regeneration doesn't allow general aging. I'm
sue some of our
body ages and dies. But we just never
saw it
directly. As to the other. As I said in the prison
he made a deal
with one god...which we don't know or at
least I
don't. He must have the same magic that I have
on me
now." He pats his chest where the magic is now
inlaid inside his
body.

Z'layha wonders one more thing, "if you were on their
watch list...the
gods that is...wouldn't they know you
were around even
if it were just a few minutes?"

Raki
nods, "more likely. Whether they could pin point
me now is
unknown." He turns to the wall. "We must
hurry a surge of
distance has just been felt."

Arawn
came to, his eyes flying open as his mind sought to
catch up to the
current state of disarray. Mae lay slumped, the
alfar fearing her
dead until his keen eye spotted the tell-tale
signs of breath
and life. Beside her stood a seething Dorhak,
the dwarf's
emotions slamming into him like a ton of bricks - a
heavy load with
all else just experienced. And just beyond lay
the skeletal
remains of Kell, Arawn's otherworldly heritage
allowing his sharp
mind to reach the conclusion of planar
temporality faster
than might be expected.

It was
then that he noticed his fallen tunic, picking it up
to discover the
large hole burnt through it.

Then
it hit him. His own memories before he blacked out.
Before he came to
in this strange chamber. Of Kell's spirit
struggling to free
him from the unbreakable grip of the Cryx,
now left behind in
the prison. Whatever secrets it held it was
probably for the
best that it remained behind, a beacon of hope
for any others
that might find themselves accidentally trapped
there in the
future. Then he recalled the purple glow. And
running toward the
swiftly collapsing portal. Then darkness.

Had he
truly made it through? Or was this some trick, another
challenge of the
guantlet? Or had he been wounded and now healed?

All
this barely had time to flash through his mind when Raki's
voice broke the
silence. ["It is good to see you alive again
Arawn. But we
should leave soon."] Alive again...

So he
had died. So how was he alive now?

"Someone's going to have to catch me up on what I missed,"
he
replied with
remarkable composure, considering. Though a bit
weak, he found
strength quickly returning to him and he seemed
little affected by
his passing, likely a courtesy of a quick death.
He accepted Fremea
and Z'leyra's help as he rose to his feet,
a bit wobbly at
first, while he listened to the exchange between
Raki and
Z'layha.

"Yes, someone's definitely going to have to catch me up on
things,"
Arawn echoed, his brow furrowing as he sought to examine
the necklace
wrapped around Raki's neck before it slipped from view.

Arawn
watched the exchange, his face tinged with suppressed
sadness. Unlike
the others, except for Raki and now Kiet, he had
seen Kell's
spiritual form, in the brief moments before escaping
the prison. And he
instinctively knew what was happening now,
his own psychic
sense picking up on the flow of emotions and
energy between the
three. Noble Kell, all the way to the end.
Though not as
close as Kiet was with the half-elf, Arawn
considered him a
friend and, though distant, kin. As the half-
elf shared words
with his close friend, Kiet, the druid spoke a
quiet prayer to
help usher Kell towards a truly blessed
afterlife.

Arawn
was in agreement with those that had already spoken.
This Lone Shifter,
if left to roam free, could find another way
to one day free
his people. And despite Arawn's compassion for
the race he knew
that such could not be allowed to come to pass.
At least not until
the day came that a spiritual healing had
washed over the
shape-shifters, returning them to a more
peaceful nature in
spite of the efforts of the Eldest Serpent
who had corrupted
them as he had with the Vong.

"I can translocate us out of here if this place isn't
warded,"
Arawn replied. "But the real question is, 'where is
the Lone
Shifter?'. I'd need a familiar enough target to
translocate us to
for maximum safety."

He
turned to Raki. "Can you sense if the shifter is
within
the fortress? Or
if it lies some distance away? What's the best
way for us to
track him from here?"

He
then presented a few questions to Z'layha. "Do you
know if the
fortress is warded against teleportational magic?
And, should we
have to navigate this place, I suggest you take
point as you won't
arouse suspicions. If you encounter anyone a
simple
conversation should hit Raki's ears while the rest of us
remain far enough
away to make preparations as needed."

He
then looked around the chamber, collecting the young boy's
skeletal remains
as he stared at Mae's slumbering form.
"Should we
wake her? Or else, who's going to carry her?"

"And make sure we don't leave anything behind that might
arouse suspicion
to our presence," he added, his tunic and any
other gear having
been collected and in hand.

Z'layha shakes her head, "wards? Ad in those things back
there?
No. We just don't allow entry to the lower levels
like here for
most. As far as any wards I do not know
of any. But
this large a group with 2 bodies and Mae
being carried
might be a bit hard to explain." She looks
worried.
"If this shifter was in the village at the
statue place as
you said how did he get here so fast? If
that just hours
ago....it takes a good week or more to
travel here from
there." Then she looks shaken. "Unless
it has been a week
or more we've been gone?"

Z'layha who has been speaking in Kameran since leaving
the prison not the
oddly magically known Marentian in
the prison
continues. "As to Mae she attacked him. Tried
to eat or kill
him. Unsure if we should kill or wake
or what. But
she seemed desperate."

Arawn
nods, so Mae needed to feed energy. Probably
uncontrollable.

Z'layha looks around, "as to leaving stuff..." she blushes
a bit.
"I say I just did. But I doubt anyone has been
down this far in
years."

Kiet
is having a great deal of trouble with the passing of
his friend.
His chest is tight. He can't seem to take deep
breaths. He cannot
stop his weeping eyes, and doesn't really
care.

Still,
even in his state of mourning he knows to ask a few
questions of
Raki.

"Raki...is there anything that can force your kind out of the
shape they
currently hold? If we know how, we can perhaps make
it easier to catch
him."

Raki
shrugs, "this is why we almost slaughtered many gods.
Even the gods had
trouble. I suspect I can guess who he
is once I sense
him. Then again you saw what heat can do
to us. It
affects our cohesion."

And
then "Raki...would you be able to simply form yourself
around Kell's
bones? I don't want to leave them here but would
like to take him
home to Ba'Ru." Even with the tears, Kiet
smiles a sad smile
and says "He would probably get a lot of
satisfaction being
smuggled home that way."

Raki
nods, "if I recall a typical human male set of bones
is what? Around 75
pounds? Certainly I can try. I was not
wanting to leave
him so would carry him if I had to."

Dorhak
is thrilled with being released from the grip of
that
demoness. But he doesn't intend to let her get away with
it! He grabs
his mace as quickly as he can and raises it to
defend himself,
only to find 'Mae' unconscious on the floor.

Dorhak
hesitates now that the immediate danger is over, but is
still quite
wary. He circles around her, it, this thing, until
he is behind
her. If she moves at all, he will not wait, but
begin bashing in
her head.

Unali
joins in, "Raki, no offense to you but two of your race
in this world
might tip the balance and might open the gates at
some point. That
is indeed not something that we should allow.
Can you help us
find the other shifter. Is he nearby?"

Raki
shrugs, "no offense. I have worked on that emotion for
a long time but
never got it fully. Yes. He is nearby but
moving. Once I
leave this thick walls and get outside I can
pinpoint him
faster. This one is a kind of legend for our
people. The
lone shifter that eludes detection. Some
believed he didn't
exist still. Zin had no doubt. This
particular shifter
sought to learn how best to burn humans.
He'd burn temples
just to see how long the humans would die.
Toward the end he
killed 350 that way. He deserves some
justice."

Z'layha crosses her arms and glances at Dorhak to ensure
he doesn't bash
Mae. Then back toward Raki. "I hope this
is not all a
act. I mean your people seem....not so kind.
What makes you
different?"

Raki
shrugs, "I saw the malice and hate my kind did. For
no good
reason. There were others like me. They were all
killed. Many felt
they should not go against the gods. But
Zin forced many to
invade the upper world. If they hadn't
been stopped the
True World as you know it would not be
the same. I
know I did very bad things. At first I
was curious and
like them. But the lack of intent and
purpose was not
there. I fought Zin and he as an example
felt I should be
isolated. Until Kiet gave me some hope."
