[Recap]

From Pyan: [Re: Actions]
Pyan is happy to
see Corona is the sky as he approaches...
GM: Ack. Good post.

From Z'leyra: [Re:
Actions]
Ah! The joy of
complications. Getting out of line of sight
she casts Sidh
Invisibility ELmax on herself and continues to
chase the
officer.
GM: Ack. Just 2 issues as I
said in chat. No place really to hide
in the
large alley and man being chased faded from view entirely.
So
chasing empty air could be a issue.

From Z'leyra: [Re:
Actions]
Telling Kiet
"Go after the wagon." Z'leyra finds something or
somebody to
briefly conceal herself from the guards and casts
invisibility on
herself then heads out after the coach.
GM: Ack.

From Dorhak: [Re:
Actions]
Dorhak is more
than apprehensive about going on board....

In Dwarvish Elder
he addresses them with "Auch! ...
GM: Ack.

From Kiet: [Re: Actions]
"Kantot!" Kiet states in his native Lemasan. He’s
not...
GM: Ack.

From Kiet: [Re: Boots]
Actually, with his
boots, Kiet's about 3x faster than
'normal'
humans. And somewhat faster than the best riding
horses.

Giddy up,
Kiet! Hyah!
GM: Ack. Yep. I
figured you'd use them. Just heed my warning
from
my quick post I made. :)

[New Stuff]

[Marqi Frisda
23rd, 1636TH; Sivas, Marentia]
[Time: 10:31:00
am]

Pyan
is happy to see Corona is the sky as he approaches the
ship. HE is glad
they didn't lose her when they where trapped
in that other
realm. He stops to do a double take as seeing
the wolf on the
ship but then continues to board cautiously.

Dorhak
is more than apprehensive about going on board. First
off, dwarves and
water rarely mix. Second, there are those
large creatures
wandering on board. But Dorhak is not known
as a coward, and
sees some people on board before him that
haven’t yet been
attacked by that wolf or large cat. He
hitches up his
belt and goes on board naturally, that giant elf
is on board.
And some human he's never seen before. And the
wolf is just kind
of hanging out. Big wolf. He keeps his shield
and mace
handy.

After
all if that hunter is brave enough to board with 2 big
cats he can.
Course hunters are used to dealing with wild
animals and may
know ways better to deal with them than a good
arrow between the
eyes.

Finally, from below decks, Dorhak sees movement of people.
No! His own
people! This is hardly believable. They clamber
up on deck,
clearly unaccustomed to the bright light. Dorhak
moves toward them
but stops short. He is downwind of them.

In
Dwarvish Elder he addresses them with "Auch! Laddies!
It’s so good to
see you, oh, but keep your distance! You all
could floor a
giant with that smell!" The others of his
companions
probably don’t know that dwarves have quite the
discerning
nose. "What has happened here? We heard there
might be captives
held here in this boat."

After
they talk some, Dorhak asks "Do they have any of your
belongings below
deck?" Dorhak will happily help. When they
are ready to
leave, Dorhak suggests getting cleaned up, then
drinks. He
thinks about what this may cost him and decides he
might try to get
one of the others to pay the bar tab. Likely
a large
one!

The
dwarves look around at the fallen sailors and guards on
deck many with
arrows in their bodies. Then a few notice
the apple-man and
3 separate from the group. All of the dwarves
have some form of
wood, rope or sharp metal item fashioned as
weapons from their
escape.

The
apple-man cowers back but Arawn steps in front of the
angry mob and
raises his shield and sword. Arawn wipes hair
from his ears and
reveals he is a elf. This seems to stop
the dwarves but
they still look a bit upset.

A
older dwarf with some blotches of gray steps forward.
"I am Gliben
Fastongue. We were captives here. Are you
here to free
us?" he speaks in dwarf elder then turns to
Arawn.
"Are you part of this crew?" He asks in Dwarf to
ensure this elf
might not be with these vile crew members.

[Second Deck of
ship]

Both
Mournath and Unali are at the end of the hall where
the captain's
quarters or office may be. Unali right in
front of the
sailor who was a ally of the party. Unali can
smell whiffs of
smoke from the bottom of the door and is certain
something is
burning inside.

Mournath whispers to Unali a plan to get that door open
without making too
much noise and perhaps a bit less effort

Before
Unali can reply to his quick plan the sailor speaks
up more from
behind her.

"Captain!" says Mournath slightly louder than
conversationally
and knocks on the door. "I caught a
trespasser down in
the holds, what should I do with 'em?"
Mournath motions
to Unali to pretend as if her hands are bound
and brandishes his
spear as if forcing her to march forward.

Unali
turns with wide opens at the sailor. Then narrows
her eyes.
Could this old ally be working with the captain
and needed to warn
him? She turns to the door then back
at Mournath
considering the next step. Any element of
surprise is now
lost.

A
muffled voice from inside yells back. "Give to the
Navigator! I'm
busy."

Unali
shrugs and sighs. It was worth a good try.

As she
smells something burning behind the door and that
might mean someone
is trying to get rid of paperwork, Unali
feels there is no
time for subtleties. She pus her shoulder
to the door and
tries to smash her way in. She yells, "Mournath"
for
help.

As she
feels her shoulder hit the door, she briefly considers
she should shop
for one of these nice gems that everybody seems
to have that
instantly open doors. Far easier than this brute
force. No time now
to get one, though.

The
full weight of her shoulder plus her heavy armor impacts
onto the door and
it cracks into thousand shards. Some of it
collapses inside
and Unali can see a room with a man turning
around to face the
door. She steps back and does one final
kick and the door
shatters into hundreds of pieces.

This
room is quarters more than a office. IT is on the
left or port side
of the ship with door facing port. It
opens into a
reverse L shaped room. There are medium sized
windows to the aft
of the room. Unali steps inside to a small
alcove first then
the room. A bed is immediately to the left
and aft on the
starboard wall. A small table under the aft
windows. Due
port or in front is a medium sized desk. A
chair behind
it. to the right or aft of the desk is a small
square table it
looks like for papers or drinks. The desk
is cluttered with
navigational waterway maps and some scrolls.

The
entire room is only about 10 by 10 feet. Most captain's
get far bigger but
it seems the hold space takes up more
room than
needed. There is a small closet that is attached
to the alcove area
when just entering. Unali watches as the
man turns around
in a sailing uniform but doesn't seem to
designate
nation. The man is older than the normal crew
and around in his
50s. He stands about 5'11 and around 180
pounds with light
brown hair and green eyes. He has a grown
out shadow of a
beard. His left cheek shows a small scar from
his upper jaw to
his earlobe on that side.

Behind
him on a shelf is a small bunsen style burner with a
small cauldron
over it hoisted by wires. Probably used to
burn incense or
oil. But in this case it is burning what
looks like
parchment.

The
Captain Unali assumes pulls his sword a very nice
clean blade unlike the
other and draws a dagger from his
belt. HE smiles
and Unali realizes this man can use two
weapons at once like
her.

Unali
tells Mournath, "Get him." and hopes to reach the
paperwork.

But
Mournath hesitates. This would be surely mutiny and
no good sailor
would do such a thing. But then again they
have been it seems
taking slaves. But then again maybe they
were just
mis-understood and hired help not slaved?

[Hold
deck]

The
Jaguar circles Fremea and sniffs her. Fremea can see
the eyes of the
beast are total white. How it can see she
is not sure but
smell must be a major factor. Fremea is
fearless though
and remains calm.

The
jaguar transforms back into the naked girl. The
girl looks around
then at Fremea. Fremea points at a stack
of bags to the
port side of the room. The girl turns either
seeing this or
assumes. Fremea will have to test this theory
later. But
when the girl reaches the bags she odes fumble
slightly as if
truly blind. She sorts through a stack of
clothing and feels
for her leathers. Then dons her old
clothing back
on.

Fremea
faintly hears a crack of wood from above.

[Primary
deck]

Mae
boards using the gangplank now that one of the beasts
is gone. She
looks around and sees bodies and bodies all
dead or
dying. She frowns. Then she notices the man in
the front of the
ship being guarded by Arawn.

Raddok
is puzzled as the two animals turn away from him
make a wide circle
in the middle of the deck, as if something
has caught their
attention. He can't see Arawn but he can see
the bloody
footprints that the Alfar suddenly brings on deck
with his boots as
he passes by bodies.

The
large cat suddenly turns away and heads down the stairs. He
is very surprised
as he spots several dwarves coming up from
belowdecks - he
had no idea there were dwarves aboard.

Arawn
touches Raddok and reveals himself voiding the
spell to
him. Arawn tells Raddok that he is in no danger.
Raddok is relieved
that someone understands him, but too much
is happening at
once - wild animals, dwarves suddenly appearing
from below - now
he could see another dwarf, in armor, coming
aboard, ahead of a
couple of other people - humans this time.
It felt to him
like something could explode any moment.

Apple-man aka Raddok says, "No danger? NO danger!?! What's
with the wolf and
the giant cat? Where did those dwarves come
from? Where's the
Faerry? What in all the Three Worlds is
happening here? I
never saw such craziness - that Faerry was
mad!"

Raddok
calls to the dwarves, especially Dorhak, in Dwarf Elder.

"Master Dwarves! Where did you come from? What's happening
here?
Is something
wrong?" (He catches a whiff from the dwarves -
chokes at the
stench. his eyes widen in horror - had the
soldiers been
carrying these dwarves as prisoners or slaves? He
speaks again, more
quietly, half to himself, still in Dwarf
Elder)
"Something is very wrong here, isn't there?"

(He
repeats this in Donaran to the large "elf" - he's
never met an Alfar
- taking a deep breath & trying to calm
down. He's very
worried about the situation he appears to
have fallen into.
This had the stench of slavers - he hated
slavers - in this
country it was illegal; he knew that much
about Marentia.
Heck, this was a country with a good reputation
that he once
contemplated visiting; now he was in a trouble
not of his making)
(he whispers a quick prayer, which Arawn
barely
catches)

"Dvallin - Bes, be with me now. I mean no harm to your people.
Morrigan, have you
sent me here for a reason? Wasn't a dragon
enough? - Sorry -
I didn't mean that!"

Arawn
understands the Donaran but not the dwarf words.

Raddok
takes a deep calming breath and looks at Dorhak.
"Can I
help?"

[South-east
alley]

Z'leyra speaks up Telling Kiet. "Go after the wagon."

"Kantot!" Kiet states in his native Lemasan. He's not
very
happy right
now.

He
knows he can only barely outrun these guards, and making
them chase Kiet
isn't likely to gain any favor from them. He
also very much
does not want to hurt them, even though it would
be easy
enough. So he simply makes sure his hands stay away
from his sword and
daggers and waits for the guards. Yeah,
getting detained
is a pain but so is alienating oneself from
their current
home.

Kiet
sighs and looks back over to Z'leyra and shrugs.

Kiet
will do his best to have the guards take him first to
the docks and ship
before going anywhere else.

Z'leyra sees very little in the alley and fears she can't
simply hide.
She turns back to a stack of 2 broken crates
that only stand
half way to her chest. But it is it and
she has no
choice. She turns back and tries to bend down
to hide but it is
pretty obvious not a good hiding place.

The
guards glance at each other as Z'leyra. They
could hear the
same words. The men with the crossbows
raises
them.

The
head man raises a hand. "Halt in the name of the
King!"
Kiet groans if they weren't suspects the fact
they are chasing
some guy and vocal about blows that.

Z'leyra casts her spell and runs toward the east and the
horses. One
of the guards nudges the officer. The officer
grunts and sighs.
The Officer turns around to his saddle and
grabs
something. Then pulls his dagger.

The
officer orders a blockade with one quick hand
signal. The
horses divide up and turn sideways. Z'leyra
changes course and
the officer rips open the bag of flour
he was planning to
use for his cake. He tosses the bag
toward the last
known course of Z'leyra. The flour showers
the area and
peppers Z'leyra's shoulder and back as she
tries to
weave.

Kiet
groans as he slows down being now blocked from his side
of the
alley. These guards are quite smart it seems.

The
officer coughs as the horse does from the flour and
he speaks.
"Z'leyra! Halt!"

Z'leyra suddenly shocked turns to the officer. How did he
know her?
Could he have been a patient in her school or
one of his
men? Being somewhat popular in this city could
be a
drawback.

Now
with the horses blocking the alley there is only a few
feet on each
side. Z'leyra could order the horses by her
voice to move but
she is spotted and notices the flour dripping
from her
shoulder.

"Let's all go back to the docks now shall we? Clearly
you may be
involved. Will you resist?" The men holding
crossbows turns
one each to Z'leyra and Kiet. "Or will
this be
messy?"

At
that point Corona passes over and has heard Z'leyra
as well.
Z'leyra takes the risk and speaks quickly to
Corona to chase
the sailor probably in one of the wagon or
carts that just
passed. Corona flies onward and rounds
the corner going
east.

[Second
deck]

Unali
leaps toward the desk taking the captain by
surprise.
She kicks up the papers on the desk as a
distraction. As
she does she uses one dagger to deflect
the raised sword
while using the other to shove the
captain to the
side.

The
captain by instinct side steps from this sudden
attack. He
raises his weapons at Unali. The sword hits
Unali in the lower
left chest but her chainmail protects
her as the dagger
in his hand fails to hit.

Unali
lands on the deck and places one of the daggers to
the shelf.
She tips the cauldron over and douses out
the tiny
flame. But most of the parchments are already
ash. She
uses the hilt of the other dagger to smother any
other
flames.

Mournath realizes Unali is in danger and rushes forward. He
stabs at the
Captain but misses.

The
Captain slices at Mournath doing a minor cut doing 1
point of damage to
his chest. The captain's dagger tries
to hit Unali but
misses. The captain tries to now attack
with both weapons
at Unali as the sword misses he does stab
Unali in the left
shoulder doing 5 points of damage.

Mournath sees blood on Unali and panics. He stabs his
spear right into
the side of the captain and impales him
deep doing 19
points of damage. The captain glances at
Mournath in
surprise then down to his side and drops his
weapons. He
curses in some language both do not know
and falls against
the wall.

Mournath's eyes widen surprised. Unali turns as well
shocked and had
hoped to keep him alive.

Unali
drops her daggers and stops the flames from
the
documents. Mournath kneels and finds the captain
dead and
sighs.

[Hold
deck]

The
girl gathers her bag, cane and cane. She storms out
with Fremea
behind. They get to the second deck and notice
the door open at
the end of the hall. Rather Fremea notice
and the girl
follows Fremea. Fremea enters the room to
see Unali and
Mournath over a dead man.

[Primary
deck]

Pyan
notices the bodies and wonders if this is Fremea's
work. He
glances at the street and docks. Folks are
now starting to
stop and watch. Pyan then notices to the
west rounding the
corner are 4 more city guards on horses
and moving this
way.

Update....Wednesday?

GM: A fun
update. Yes. The guards recognize Z or at
least a couple do. This is the problem of infamy and
station. They seem to ignore Kiet though as he
doesn't seem to be known. I did warn there was little
place to hide and the guards were right there with
the 2 of you. :) You guys can still try to avoid
the horses and pass them. But avoiding a order of
the city guards when at least one person - Z is known
could be bad. Kiet might be able to at least chase
the guy if he wants. If he can avoid a crossbow bolt.
The set of 4 other guards in the west are different and
not the same ones.

GM: Introducing
Raddok aka Apple man. Played by Bess Hadley.
Some of you who are on the main P&P mailing list know Bess
already as a author and poster. Welcome to the game! Bess
you can post as normal if you wish.

GM: Arawn - Bess
caught the dwarf mistake of being seen so
I appended it that you touched Raddok. :) I got your
other emails and will deal when I can.

Dorhak: Leader time. The poo-poo is closing in.

Fremea: Can go back on deck or stay below. I assume
if on deck may put dress on but it will be hard to
explain to guards.

Kiet: Wanna fake a horse and chase guy still? See if
your faster than a speeding bolt? Maybe these guards
are bad shots at fast moving targets.

Mournath: Can post to list so the stuff you sent in email
was not seen till now so Unali had to react as above
as I figure she would. :) Sorry got a lucky hit on
Captain. It wasn't clear if you'd avoid the fight
so figured you'd at least try to save Unali.

Z'leyra: Can try to still chase as Kiet. But at least
the officer of guards knows you or of you. Maybe
Corona can find the target though technically he never
saw him fully.

GM: We still have
at least one more new player to come. But I
figure now is a good time for tips:

IC-In Character: Anything posted is assumed to be IC.
This is even decisions-if-thens. But taken as that
context. You are free to post whatever flair you like.
I see Bess uses (..) and that's fine. But normally:

Dialogue: "..." and in normal book format with
actions like "Stop!" X tells the monster waving
his hands. As an example.
Inside voice/Introspection: Some use '...' single
quote or [..] or (...) Typically I do introspections
alot as normal text but it should be easy to follow.
Actions: Typically are short or long range. It is
hard to figure out how far I'll go in a update. Even
I may not know this. But like above it was only
3-4 minutes. So typically should plan for a few min
at a time. Unless I warn in advance of great time
laps to go. It is important as above to post which
language you speak. If it is not listed it will
be assumed Marentian as the party language.

OOC: Out of Character. Can be player comments or
anything not player like. I've done this long
enough I can figure out the difference. You may
notice in Recap above I list all OOC stuff and some
IC stuff to show I get the post.

Posting: At top of the update above Update number is a
reminder.
This shows website, email and list address to post.
As a tip though at top of EVERY list email you get are
link-headers. Stuff like List-Subscribe, List-Archives
and such. These are links and email address that can be
used as reminder.

Any public posts go to:
pnpgm@list.powersandperils.org
Private posts/emails to:
pnpgm@comcast.net
longshotgm@comcast.net

Either is fine. If you email a player to discuss stuff
that is IC please CC me so I can see it.

List ArchiveS:

http://www.powersandperils.org/pipermail/pnpgm/a:\

Game Site:
http:/nrgcomputers.com/pbem/

This site I update manually so posts may be slow
to appear but usually in a few days It is best
to use the List-Archives (see header in email)
as a book mark to see current posts. As soon as
the posts go out it shows here immediately. This
shows and confirms it goes out. I do the Recap
for same reason but it is days later. So if you need
to verify a post went out check Archives.

For new folks if questions ask. Nothing is too stupid.
Just keep in mind that actions that could complete
de-rail a scene might not work. "I raise sling and
fire at dragon killing him!" Well that's not likely
to happen. So best just say you fire on him and then
duck as he kills you. :) As GM I complete the set
of actions based on rules and rolls. Role playing
is 90% of the pbem. New players can watch old ones
and see how they do as mentors.

Welcome to the game!

Note: Be careful if you are on both mailing lists.
The game is pnpgm the other is pnp. This was way
back when i used pnpgm@ email address gm for game
master. So for game use pnpgm not pnp :) If you
understand.

GM: Bess - How do
you want listed in Roster?
Bess Hadley.....Raddok......????....Normal/Human...Fe...

What profession want listed?

Happy St Patty's day!
