Game Update #12 sequence (file #130)
----------------------------------------------------------------

Admin Notes: Added TWO new names to
roster! Welcome!
----------------------------------------------------------------
[Recap]

From Raddok: [Re: Helping
voice]
OOC: Thanks for
the welcome. Glad to be aboard (oops - excuse
the pun)! Sorry I
was late with update #11. Early part of week
rather hairy with
appointments - didn't get to responding till
late Tuesday night
(sorry, Scott; I always seem to send my
updates after 2 AM
PDT -lol)

IC:
Raddok willingly
translates any Dwarf Elder (language)
Arawn, since they
have a language In common (Salaqi). He
yells a greeting
back (Dwarf Elder) "Master Dwarves, are you
okay?" but
doesn't leave Arawn, since the wolf is still present
(& the giant
cat, somewhere on board), & he's currently
unarmed.

OOC: this is for
update #11. will have new stuff for #12 in a
couple days
GM: Ack. No problem on
delays. I've always said for years all
of us
have busy lives. I do NOT mind halting the game.
A
simple request to hold things for a week or two is fine.
In
fact it'd give me a vacation. :) So if folks need to
do
stuff that's more important that's fine. So don't
hesitate to ask.

Post from Mae: [Re: OOC
stuff]
OOC - Maelorna
sighs, "You know how everyone has a little inner
voice, that little
bit of conscious that helps you do the right
thing.
Well, I suppose 'right' thing is more an issue of your
moral compass and
how you see the world of course," she sighs as
she pushes a bit
of her food about the plate, "My little voice
is a bit more of a
problem. It's a true sister, one of the
ones that
Master Gniled had summoned and bound, I guess she's
free? At least I hope she is, she was kind enough to
teach
me a little
bit, warn me about what not to do. Though being
half
of one has it's drawbacks, I'm finding out that the rules
a lot
of them have to follow don't apply, while others do.
It's a
hunger, the void is always hungry and I don't think
I've
actually ever known it to be full at all. I know this
much,
it truly hates him," as she looks where Arawn is
talking with another. "Why I haven't a clue other
than he'
s
trying to save me and I'm still not sure why he's even
trying. I mean, almost all the time,I'm hearing the
voice
beg,
plead, and promise of all it can teach me on how to be
a
better child of the Princess. It might be why my calling
appears to be that of a consummate companion or whore if you
truly
want to be crude. Don't worry, I've been called
everything but a child of god, I think," she chuckles, "So
it
would take a bit more than calling me names to trouble
me,"
as she gives a rueful smile and closes her eyes, "I'm trying
alright, shut up for a few moments please?" she pleads and
she looks at you with a warm smile, "It likes you," as she
shrugs, "Then again, it liked the dwarf as well,"
GM: Ack. Since this was
all OOC its posted here not in update.
I
figure this is a explanation to new fokls about your
inner
voice without saying it. :)

From Mae: [Re:
Malorna sighs as
she can't even do that much, 'FEED ON0...
GM:
Ack.

[New Stuff]

[Marqi Frisda
23rd, 1636TH; Sivas, Marentia]
[Moments
before]

Arawn
tries to calm the apple man.

"What happened here?," he asked, speaking in Salaqi. "And
you
can help me save
the rest of your companions."

Raddok
watches the tall Elf intently.

As the
rest of the party began to make their way on to the deck
his disembodied
voice carried from a spot not far from Raddok.

Raddok
goes to help the elf. "Some of these men are still
alive, but barely.
I'm tending to them best I can but could
use some
help."]
. . . . .
Raddok
was relieved by sight of the 'large elf' who brushed
past him to
examine the sailors and soldiers lying on the deck.
He was further
relieved when his native tongue appeared to be
familiar to the
man, and he was told he was safe - for the
moment
anyway.

Then
the visitor bent to examine those lying around them,
and asked Raddok
for his assistance and an explanation. He
straightened up
and looked around clearly for the first time
since the arrows
had started flying.

[Time: 10:38
am]

[Top
deck]

Raddok
offers to transalate for Arawn using their
common
language. He avoids the wolf and the dwarves
mainly for their
smell. As he nears the dwarves he speaks
to them in their
language. "Master Dwarves, are you
okay?"

Raddok
is horrified to discover the presence of enslaved
prisoners on
board, realizing this fact as Arawn informs him
of it. He starts
explaining to Arawn what he knows & who he is
& why he's on
board.

The
elder dwarf looks to the others. "We seem fine
for now.
Aside from thirsty and hungry. They did not
treat us
harshly."

Malorna sighs as she can't even do that much, 'FEED ON THEM
YOU STUPID LITTLE
GIRL, THE MEAL IS LAID BARE AND THE IRRITANT
WONT NOTICE YOU AT
ALL!' the voice almost screams. Maelorna
swallows nervously
as she just stops herself, it wouldn't take
much, just feed,
that's all she would need to do. She sighs
and stands up,
before walking over to where Arawn and a
sailor? The man is unarmed but that doesn't mean he
isn't
dangerous, she
scrutinizes him and watches as they're moving the
wounded. 'Damn, somehow I doubt he'll allow it,' she
grouses
mentally.

"So many are dying, are the soldiers then not to be
spared?"
she asks, trying
to hide the sound of desire in her voice.

Raddok
moves from body to body helping the Elf as he does
he speaks.
"Yes, of course. How can I help?" and he moved to
where the elf was,
noticing a nearby sailor he had liked, and
stooping to see if
he was still alive. Sorrowing to see he was
not, he quickly
moved beside (Arawn) and bent to help lift a
severely wounded
man, moving him near two others still alive.
Following the
"elf's" directions, he helps move a few other
sailors to the
same area of deck, dragging away a few dead
soldiers to make
more room for the still-living to be treated.
He glanced around
to see where the wolf is, and it seemed to be
settling on the
deck, so he begins to relax - just a little - at
least he can take
a deep breath now. Too much strange stuff
happening too
fast.

"I have a Healing Kit, if we need it, in my cabin," he
ventured. "My
name is Raddok. I don't really know what happened
here. Suddenly
there were arrows just flying everywhere - coming
out of the sky. We
all dove for cover - I was over there,
reading"
(points to the crate by which his book still lay,
fallen to the
deck, open & face-down).

"I also saw a Faerry looking angry enough to shoot us all,
but she went down
below. Then the giant cat and the wolf came
up from below -
then the dwarves… - honestly, I had never seen
any of them
before. I had no idea anyone else was on board!"
(He begins to look
a little shaken again.)

"I was hired in Ba'ru a couple weeks ago by the Captain, to
help work with
some dwarves for some mining company just
starting up. He
had heard I speak Dwarf Elder - guess I had too
much ale one night
in the tavern - & that I had worked with the
Master miners, so
he sought me out. I've been working my way
west to the Sea of
Tears, to see my lady, and this job was the
first one heading
west that I'd found after two weeks'
searching. I
didn't like some of the man's attitude - he was
rude to a serving
wench - , but I took it because he offered
double wages,
paying half up front. I guess that should have
made me
suspicious, but I needed the work, so I signed up. But
I'm not a member
of the crew or anything; I'm just a passenger
being taken to the
job. It's somewhere around Rogizini, I think.
I didn't know the
town name he gave me; he did talk of the
Rogizini coast.
Kinda secretive - but it's often that way with
new mines - don't
want the word to get out & have a major
invasion of
opportunists." Raddok leaned hi s chin on his hand
for a moment,
thoughtfully. "He also limited me to this deck
and the 2nd one,
where my cabin is. I was not allowed access
to the lowest deck
and he said he had no room for my horse, so
I had him
scheduled to be shipped separately to Vahear, where a
friend will watch
him for me till the job is over." He blinked.

"Maybe my job is already over?" He looked with concern to
(Arawn).
"Were those animals - prisoners - and the dwarves? Or
slaves?" He
looks with some horror at the dwarves on deck, then
begins to look
angry. "How stupid! Dwarves won't work as slaves.
If their families
- no, that's impossible. I can't see how it
could be. I will
NOT be part of such a thing as slavery!" He
looks at (Arawn)
with dawning horror. "What is going on?"

The
dwarves start to disperse and catch the breeze and
look around in
confusion. Two of them spot the fallen apple
and lunge for it.
They tear it to shreds with their sharp
fingernails and
begin to eat causing others to want
some. Raddok
looks up at his apple and sighs.

Mae
leans down to one of the guards and feeds to fullfill
her hunger.
The wounded man is bleeding out with probably
fatal
wounds. She reels back as the life force drains from
the man. The
man gurgles and then his last breath is taken
as too much damage
is done. She sighs as she loses a pet but
feels better
inside.

Arawn
finds 3 dead guards. But is glad to see only 2
sailors
wounded. One guard took a direct hit in the eye
and lodges in his
brain. While the man is actually
still alive brain
matter leaks out. Even with regeneration
and other spells
Arawn figures brain damage is too severe.

Another guard bleeds to death by the time Raddok and
Arawn gets to
him. There are at least half a dozen other
dead guards.
But Arawn tries to save the 2 wounded sailors
as the guards are
all dead. Both are moderately wounded
and have no
weapons making Fremea's attack daunting to
Arawn. He
tells Raddok to stand back and casts a healing
mist spell.
Soon the green mist falls around the 2 men
and begins to heal
them. Raddok is amazed by this use
of magic as he has
not met a elf like Arawn.

[Second
deck]

Unali
gently tells Mournath to stand aside for now.
Best not to touch
anything but he can give advice
on where other
items of importance may be.

Fremea
turns and nudges Ix to follow. As Fremea moves
down the hall she
carefully scans the berths but finds
them empty.
As they near the stairs they hear movement
inside the
galley. She bursts inside with dagger drawn
to find two
dwarves eating down on some soup and very old
stale bread.
They look up with innocent faces like
they are very
ashamed but need the food.

[Alley to
east]

The
guards wave Kiet and Z'leyra forward. Both run fast
as their boots
allow. The horses keep up and the captain
orderers a bit
slower if they get too far ahead.

"Slavers you say? That would be against the kingdom's
laws. But
we'll have to investigate."

[West side of
boardwalk]

The
other set of guard riders ride forward fast toward
the ship and the
fay horse. The five men dismount and
look around.
The Fay horse seems to block their path to
the docks for a
few moments and then gives up. The guards
rush the small
dock and one boards. The guard looks around
with sword in hand
at the many dead bodies.

"Sarge we'll need a lot more help here."

The
rest of the guards board and look around. The one
probably ranked
sarge speaks up. "What is going on here?!
Who is in charge
here. Drop all weapons and those still
standing step
aside. Until we get to the bottom of this
we'll need to sort
this all out! Now move!"

The
dwarves growl at the hostile tone. Then the guards
smell them.
The Sarge continues, "and ahh..you there..
why not step to
the far...far side..."

[Second
deck[

Fremea
rushes toward the captain's quarters and tells
Unali city guards
have boarded to act fast.

[Time: 10:42
am]

The
guards escort Kiet and Z'leyra onto the ship. The
sarge greets the
captain. The captain explains. "We
got word of
attacks. You are probably here from the
garrison?" The Sarge nods. "I just happened to
be
heading back to
the 21st barracks."

The
Sarge perks up. "Special Unit? No need for you
to respond.
This is a bit out of your skill set being
the elite
troops."

Captain nods, "the sailor that was looking for help
found
us." He looks to the ship to the east.
"Probably
from that ship.
" The captain looks around the deck at
the arrows.
Then at the party all of which aside from
Mae have no
obvious missile weapons. "Red head did you
do
this?" Then shrugs. "No of course not. You
carry
a crossbow not a
bow. These are arrows not bolts. So
who did
this?"

The
Sarge nods, "sailors often fight each other in the
bars almost
nightly. Some may argue over cargo and
even resources
like men. But this....is different."

Damon
steps forward. "I'm Captain Damon. Not of this
ship. I
suspect.." He looks to Arawn and then Dorhak
for help
here.

Sarge
points to 2 men. "Go below see if anyone is there
and bring them
here. If need help yell."

Update....Saturday...?

GM: A short
update for now. I had to do some book keeping
for experience and file shifting. So I originally
said I'd post Ix's IBT today but I'll move that to
Wednesday. This will give me a bit of a break as
well. :) Since it was finished 4-5 months ago.
I'll do the next update Saturday. I actually forgot
about Damon for a couple updates. Dang. Now all
are at same spot except Ix, Fremea, Mournath and
Unali on second deck. I assume compliance with the
guards is done? Eventually party will learn 7 sailors
swam to other ship and are fine.

GM:
Experience
Mournath : CEP - 30 for Captain's death
Fremea : CEP - 75 for all the others. :)
