[Recap]

From Raddok: [Re:
Actions]
Raddok, happy that
he can get his errands done with Kiet,....
GM: Ack.

From Kiet: [Re: Actions]
Well, it seems
everyone seems to take the orders and suggestions
for tasks without
too much trouble. A nice bonus indeed.

"Aye.
I’ll take him, Elder. Hopefully his problems back....

Dorhak will help
arm this dwarf, though finding suitable armor
might prove
difficult. But he will buy a strong shield,
helmet, available
armor (less than chain mail) and up to three
weapons...preferably a strong hand to hand weapon, a dagger,
and ranged weapon
if he is capable.

Before they head
out and shop, Dorhak asks the unwanted kin to
join him as he
takes care of his place and things. Dorhak
starts by
gathering his money, which visibly impresses his kin,
then goes to visit
his artist friends. He asks the one older
lady sculptor to kindly
watch his place while he's gone. He
looks rather different
to her as he is more dressed for war
than artistry. But
Dorhak offers her 5 pieces of silver to
watch his place and his
tools.

Both dwarves then go
back to Dorhak’s hovel and gather up all of
his belongings except
tools (stonework and jewelers) and the '
worthless' gems.
They split up the gear and head out.

First of all, they go to
find anything the new dwarf can use to
fight with.
Afterwards, they head out to find a moneylender
that Kiet
mentioned for the majority of Dorhak’s wealth. Dorhak
will deposit a full
100gc (minus money paid for gear) with the
moneylender. He
keeps the rest with him.

Then, it’s time to go
back to the boat. Dorhak will deposit
his stuff in 'his'
cabin.
GM: Ack. For
moneylenders they use your $ to their profit.
Just
like a modern bank. So you can either do No interest
but
average risk, Low, Medium or High Risk. Risk involves
public
economy disasters - I mean a moneylender could be
robbed
or city depression and lose some or all money. But
this
is super rare. The risk though has a benefit in
interest paid out. None-0%, Low-1-3%, Medium 4-6% and
High
7%+. Based on monthly intervals. Let me know how
much
risk you want to take.

From Mae: [Re: Actions]
Maelorna smiles
watching as the dwarf leaves. Looking ....

For supplies, she
runs through a mental check list and wonders
just how much
another besides herself might need. As for food,
that wasn't an
issue, with the spell, as long as it succeeded,
she could use any
trash or creature, such as any rats,
considering every
ship had them, or so she had overheard, those
she managed to
catch and feed upon she could use the remains
and change them
for food if needed. No, it was water she had to
worry about.
'Pity having never found a spell or item that
created water,'
she grouses.

On a whim, she
stops by the brothel before heading ...
GM: Ack. I don't see the
rent or expenses paid on sheet.
I see
where a moneylender deposit was made. I may have
done
this only for IBT but not listed on sheet. So I'll
cover
this below. Let me know how long you want to pay
for
your 'room'.

From Kiet: [Re: Actions]
Before Kiet leaves
to gather supplies and hammocks, he ...

Kiet intends to
head home and gather some things. Some he will
leave at his own
manor, the rest he will take to the "Bank of
Z'leyra"

OOC: I will post
my list of purchases and stowage to Scott after
a while.
It's a long list. And I want to make sure I am not
carrying too
much.
GM: Ack. The whole idea
of gear is to mainly prevent the "oh I
pull
out my sapphire magical super doper ring and zap the
bad
guy out of my pocket." situation. For mundane gear
like
books or clothing I mostly don't care. Its things
that
are plot integral that could change the entire
current situation. That's why I ask. I mean folks have
plenty
of room on ship to bring stuff. Its not matter
of
space. Its matter of what is left behind that you
can't
pull up your sleeve. :) For those with animals it
is
critical to pay whoever is feeding/storing them.

From Ix: [Re: Actions]
Ix finds herself
not of much use in preparing the ship for its
voyage, other than
attempting to locate herbs that would help
with the smell in
the hold.

Once she leaves
with Arawn and the dwarves, she follows....

Upon finally
reaching Kaz's house, she was happy to see...
----------

Ix's
description

Ix is somewhat
short, standing at 5'2". Her slender form moves
with grace
despite her apparent handicap, this gracefulness is
only
accentuated whenever she dances or performs any form of
acrobatics.

Her raven black
hair is kept fairly long, reaching just beneath
her shoulder
blades. There are random beads and feathers tied
up in her
hair. When her eyes aren't covered by a blindfold or
her cloak, they
are pure white with a shimmer of silver where
her iris and pupil
should be. Her skin is slightly tanned
with a clear
complexion. Although they are usually covered by
either her hair or
the hood of her cloak, her ears are pointed.

Her manner of
dress would be considered wild and primitive to
most, but for her,
it's comfort and convenience. Her clothes
are mostly fur
with brief hints of cloth and leather, even her
shoes are
fur. Upon her shoulders rests the pelt of a large j
aguar, an absolute
giant of its kind, and likely labeled a man
killer in its
lifetime purely due to its size and advanced
age. The
graying around its muzzle and head show that the beast
was quite old and
either died of natural causes or had to be
put down because
he became a danger to the people nearby. The
beast's
extremities are still attached but are tied up to not
drag the ground
when walking. The pelt is large enough and
crafted in such a
way that it can be untied for her to cover
up with as a large
blanket, or even literally wear the beast's
skin as a full
suit for extra protection against the cold.
She often wears
the head up over her own as a hood, the
oversized head
sinking down and covering her eyes, not that
it would affect
her vision in any way. As with such cloaks, the
lower jaw is
missing, the teeth from the missing jaw have been
crafted into a
necklace that she wears around her neck.

From Arawn: [Re: Actions]
While secreted
away in the bowels of the ship, Arawn...

"Unali, when
you were in the captain's hold you....
GM: Ack. Technically here
Unali only had a side glance. You
on the
other hand saw none of this if I recall. So how
you
can use this info is kinda IC/OOC stuff. :) Borderline
issue
of it being OOC player only info.

[New Stuff]

[Marqi Frisda
23rd, 1636TH; Sivas, Marentia]

[Time: 12:30
pm]

While
secreted away in the bowels of the ship, Arawn's
divination forced
him to plumb his mind for recent memories. His
eyes shone
with curious intensity and thereafter he made his
way to the
deck. He made sure that Damon and his crew were not
present while he
addressed his concern.

"Unali, when you were in the captain's hold you noticed
Damon secreting
something in his pocket after rifling through
the captain's
corpse. Did you ever find out what he
discovered?

In
addition, did we ever get confirmation on who killed the
man you had tied
up in the hold?"

[Time: 12:42
pm]

The
Dwarf elder offers a new recruit to Dorhak.

Dorhak
listens to the Elder (as any respectable Dwarf
should).
It’s something unusual to be asked such a request.
And
disturbing. Still, he is the Elder. Decorum demands he
acquiesce.

"Aye. I’ll take him, Elder. Hopefully his problems back
home
won’t cause
problems for this trip. Also, he is insurance that
I will keep my
word about disposing of this boat and sharing
the
proceeds."

Dorhak
motions the new recruit over to join them. He looks
around to make
sure no one else (non-dwarf, anyway) is listening
and says in
Dvallin "Before I allow you to join us, by the
words of Dvallin,
you will tell me exactly what trouble keeps
you from going
home. I swear that it shall go no further to
these others
unless a life is in danger." Dorhak awaits the
answer.

The
elder waves the younger dwarf forward. The younger
one introduces
himself. "I am Barbasa." In the dwarf
tongue.

[Time: 12:25
pm]

Maelorna smiles watching as the dwarf leaves. Looking at her
gear and rummages
about through the ruck sack and once satisfied
she sighs
contentedly, she was hungry fortunately it wasn't the
ever present
hunger this time, rather she was in the mood for
something more
physically filling. She chuckles softly as she
heads out to one
of the inns she had found before for a meal.

[Time: 12:30
pm]

Before
Kiet leaves to gather supplies and hammocks, he needs
to know how much
of 'special' items to bring, so he asks
"Captain
Damon, if we take the'Tuna' way to Vahear, what would
you estimate would
be the round trip? (Kiet and a few other
sea hands smile or
chuckle over this little joke...since Tuna
is commonly know
as The Chicken of the Sea). We should probably
not count on
having time to stock up on supplies there. We do
then to have to
usually leave places rather quickly."

Damon
nods, "Mournath and I looked at the maps briefly.
It all depends on
the winds. It could be as short as 8 or
9 days with great
winds every single day. But likely as
long as 38-39
days. One way. So let's average that to what
24-25 days?
So might as well plan at least a month for one
trip and another
month back. This doesn't include time in
Vahear and
such. So I'd suggest to my sailor pals who will
come to figure at
least three months. There are at least
six or seven
cities on the way and those are only a few
days in
between. So you could do weekly set of supplies.
but once you round
the western edge of Bhamotin I'd plan
for longer as
cities and towns will be less. I can work with
Mournath on the
specifics and we can jot them down. At least
you won't have to
deal with Climan pirates this far east.
But Rogizini or
other free lance pirates mainly once you
round the edge to
the south - along the western edge of
Bhamotin - may be
more frequent. Once you leave the Sea of
Tears to the Great
Southern Ocean things get a bit rougher
all around with
storms and pirates. This time of year the
winds are moving
east to north so going south from Sivas to
the northern edge
of Bhamotin may be slowed due to the winds.
But once you head
into the Great Ocean the winds move east to
south thanks to
that island between the Empire and Bhamotin.
So winds along
that coast should be very helpful.

As to
any special gear? This ship is built for the Sea of
Tears not the
ocean. As such I'd get more ropes and at least
another backup
anchor. The one sole anchor could be damaged
or lost. The
sails look in good shape but backup cloth and
a person who can
sew is always a great help. Once leave the
Sea for the Ocean
food and water will be more criitical. I
suspect medical
supplies are needed. The biggest thing is
Bhamotin are our
friends. So this alone is a major asset to the
ship. But
Vahear and the Empire is another story. So if you
get lost and end
up in the west at the Rogizini Empire shores then
you better be
prepared to fight your way out. They are not
very friendly
folks."

[Time: 3:15
pm]

Raddok, happy that he can get his errands done with Kiet, he
quickly places his
personal gear in an empty cabin, first
telling Z'leyra
where he's placed it, "... so it's out of the
way for now (cabin
with 1st door on the right)", then grabs his
horse gear &
follows Kiet off the ship.

Barbasa and Dorhak finish up at Dorhak's place. The old
lady refused to
watch the house without a hug from Dorhak.
Dorhak grumbles it
is a human old lady custom it seems. Then
the pinching of
cheeks and rubbing of hair ritual starts.
The old lady is
glad to see Dorhak "get a new friend." in the
young
dwarf.

As the
2 dwarves head to the money lender, Barbasa begins
to open up.
"Aren't you worried carrying so much gold
around these
streets? These humans all look sketchy to me.
Feell like I'll be
molested any second now." Later on he
adds.
"Back home I'm a subject of bad luck. It started when
I was around 8
bringing food to the elder miners in our clan.
The cave suddenly
collapsed. Five years later after the 3rd
collapse the
elders felt I should not be in any more caves
doing mining at
least. After that I spent my time on armor
work. One
day was hiking in area looking for possible on
ground minerals
with the Rune Master. I told him to avoid
a rock and go
right around a tree. He did and fell into a
pit of
snakes. Beyond his broken leg and almost dying form
the bites we were
able to save him. But again the clan
seemed to blame
me."

Dorhak
looks around where is that local youth gang that
hangs out.
Maybe bad luck will turn him on to the wrong
street? He
shakes his head. Luck is just folks being
afraid and
ignorant! But he does with glee recall someone
saying they have
some magic thing to prevent ship from sinking?
Ship may not sink
but being ate by sea monsters is another
story. He
shakes his head as these thoughts occur to him.

Barbasa continues, "I am so so with gems and armor now.
I suspect if I
bring honor back to the clan I can learn
more from the rune
master. But it was clear they would
not want me around
much. I suspect if I returned they'd
just blame me for
them being taken prisoner. But I do
appreciate you
taking me along. If I am to prove myself to
my clan then this
should help out. I am good with the
mace but not so
much with a shield. After that one bear
came into the mine
- or so they blamed me - I fought it off
with the mace and
work hammer. So I am good with a hammer
in one hand and
mace in other. I could also use a dagger.
But I asked that
Raddok guy to convey to that strange one
who did healing -
Aron? I asked Raddok to ask him if he
could bring a suit
of armor back from the tribe. So I
should only need
weapons. I can work for it though...."

After
the moneylender and the big relief that 100 gold isn't
to be stolen or
dropped in some sewer as they both walk by
due to some odd
turn of bad luck, the pair find a shop.
There Dorhak finds
a mace, nice hammer and dagger for
the lad. It
only costs 2 gold so Dorhak pays it.

[Time: 3:59
pm]

At the
Dwarves camp in Ba'ru.

Once
she leaves with Arawn and the dwarves, she follows along
and is indeed
happy when they're reunited with their families.
Unfortunately the
language barrier prevents her from expressing
this. She
also attempts to provide the fallen with prayers and
honor.
Knowing that their stay was wearing thin, she places a
hand on Arawn's
arm to reassure him. It wasn't their fault that
the dwarves here
were distrustful.

The
Elder Dwarf speaks a little bit of Ba'ru being in the
land for so
long. But it is a rough tourist style level of
it so its enough
to get roughly by. The Elder thinks the
2 for returning
the dwarves. The elder fetches a suit of
armor for Barbasa
to be taken back.

[Time: 4:12
pm]

On a
whim, she stops by the brothel before heading back to the
ship. She speaks
with the owner for a bit, trying her best to
ignore the cats if
they show up. Her room was still hers for a
few weeks, having
paid for them. She wasn't sure, how long this
endeavor with
Dorhak might take, but who knew, worse case, she
would return and
obtain her old room or a new one that she could
call her
own. Listening to the various sounds of love making or
in the case of
some males, rutting and grunting before they're
finished.
She sighs and heads back to the ship, she'll either
manage or she wont
with surviving this trip on a boat,
especially
considering the last time.

Pa'mor
sits back before Mae leaves and considers the
situation.
"You are definitely a nice and worthy set of
ass. A high
earner due to that red head and red carpet
below." The crude brothel owner sits back and picks
a
piece of corn from
her teeth and flicks it away. "How
long will you be
gone? The room itself is 2 copper per day.
But you know as
well as I do that room can earn as much as
16 on
average. For you that could be as much as 30
copper a
day. Are you willing to pay that much for what
I'll lose?
If not I'll reserve your room for the basic
2 per day or 6
silver per month. That is if you let one of
the other girls
use it for services. That way the room can
still bring in
some rock hard customers with bags of coin.
What do you
say?"

[Time: 5:29
pm]

At
Master Kaz's cabin in Ba'ru.

Upon
finally reaching Kaz's house, she was happy to see him,
but ashamed as
well. When she and Arawn are invited inside,
she removed the
jaguar pelt and hung it near the door. However
during their tea,
she just stared down at it while she waited
for it to cool, or
at least appeared to stare at the cup. "I'm
really sorry,
Kaz. I should have told you sooner, I didn't know
if my welcome was
worn out and I didn't want to press my luck."

She
feels a bit more at ease here at Kaz's cabin, she was
definitely far
more relaxed that she was in Marentia. Tilting
her head down to
finally take a drink of her tea, some of her
hair fell in her
face. When she put her tea down, she brushed
her hair back,
tucking the runaway strands behind her ear.

Kaz
leans back in his chair as it creaks and pets the
wolf at his
feet. "You did give me a fright leaving. I
did look around
and used magic. But I finally sensed you
were not in
Ba'ru. I figured you left home. Before you
got here I was set
in my ways and not fond of people.
You bought
back...some of the humanity back to me. For
that I am
grateful. You are always welcome here. " He
glances at Arawn
and frowns.

"You elves are fond of looking at everything to find
magic and solve
the mysteries of life. Seek none of that
here please or of
myself. I find it very offensive. "
He softens a
bit. "I've had....issues with your find in
the past.
But I'm not about to deny you a good tea."
He turns back to
Ix. "Before you came I was a hermit
and closed
off. I liked that way. There are three types
of magic users who
grow old as I do. Those who teach and
take students
until they die. Those that simply fade from
society and are
possible legends. Then those like myself
who are tired of
the needs and wants of society to do
this and that for
them. For when they themselves are
not willing to do
it the old fashioned way with great
work and hands on
brain power. This is why I stayed
here for
years. You ...taught me to go back to the
city and find old
friends. I'm sure I will die here
alone. That
is fine with me. I've lived a long and
good life.
But let's not get too sad here. Let's hear
about your
future! I knew you were in store for great
things." He glances down at the wolf. "He would not
be
here if you were
just some girl who is blind living on
society
begging. He is what binds you to the gods and
to the
fates. They are very rare for pets." he looks up.
"He senses
great things for you as well.

Kaz
stands and shuffles to a box and he removed the box
to uncover a trap
door in the table. He lifts it up and
removes a small
bag. He digs in the bag and pulls a item
out then places
the bag back in the secret hole and covers
it back up.
He walks to Ix. "Ix give me your arm." He
places a silver
bracelet onto Ix's right arm.

Ix
raises her arm to her eyes. Of course the fine detail
is gone but she
touches it with her other hand. Kaz
continues, "I
was going to give this to you before you
would leave.
I knew some day you would leave. Being
here with a old
man is not fun for a girl of your age.
I know it is bad
to toss out a girl with your issues
to society but it
was going to happen...eventually.
This bracelet
allows you to protect yourself form old
dirty men like
me." He glances briefly at Arawn then back
at Ix.
"Or young men who wish to see how agile your body
is at times.
It will send out pulses of lightning. The
range is up to 90
feet away. But with your eyes...I hmm..
suggest making
sure the target is first. On average it
will kill any
man. At the best it could take down a giant.
It should be
active maybe twice a day. I forget how many
times a day.
Been awhile...It is yours to keep. I hope
you use it wisely
and not kill the wolf." He smiles and
shuffles back to
his chair.

[Time: 7:12
pm]

For
the last few hours Z'leyra has been in her basement,
and in her shop
working on the language necklace. She gives
orders to fix
dinner while the staff collect supplies but
tells them not to
disturb her.

Those
who wish to stay at the manor are allowed entry the
guards. A
late meal is made and some of it is kept warm
for those who may
come later.

One
such visitor is Unali who enters carrying several large
bags. She is
offered a meal and she eats lightly. But before
she eats a
messenger had been waiting for her for 2 hours.
He gives a pass
phrase - "The horse ate the grape." Then
Unali recognizes
the Sivas code for this month and gives the
designated reply
back. The messenger gives her a parchment
and departs.
She reads it and frowns.

Update....Saturday?

GM: Did a lot of
behind scenes stuff with emails and character
sheets. So this may be a small update it took a few days.
I still have no info on these "supplies" that are being
bought for. Asked about this many updates ago. I need
exact details as supplies is generic. "Oh I paid for
a oil lantern for every person." You did? Where. So
unless its given in a actual list no supplies will be
obtained. Once I get the supply info and finish gear
details we can move on and leave Sivas. I also need
to know who is paying for such supplies. Some are
getting supplies privately like rations which his fine.
But if you need to eat or drink water it might be wise
to actually BUY supplies. :) Let me know on these details
and gear stuff as soon as can. I posted in great
detail on the Vahear Trip details link/file the trip
length (estimated). The time between cities and such.
One may not need the entire trip supplies but just
from city to city. But I mainly need to know what
is got and who pays for it.

Assuming no big major new stuff next update will just
be a tiny gear/hopefully supply list update update. :)

GM: Pclooks file
with Ix's description added online.
I think all players added to it but Mae? But I thought
Mae sent in a description? Did I misplace it? Don?

GM: Language
necklace: Just a reminder v1 rules Language learned
was at Max EL. But in v2 it is Starting Level which is
if I recall Empathy/2. So using the language necklace
will be based on this so it won't be poof and you know
the langauge. Keep this in mind.

I've marked top ones as completed only because some already
have all the gear they need on ship already (Ix, Mournath,
Raddok). Unali sent info in email on what she is taking.
Pyan has so little gear that I figure will take it all.

If there are corrections let me know!
Once I mark complete for all I'll send sheets if
needed and we can move on. So half of party is ready
it seems. Others not heard from or confirm status.
