Some
of the party start to arrive to prepare the ship.<br>
The sailors hired
by Dorhak - to be paid later - are<br>
already preparing
and checking the rigging for any<br>
signs of
damage. They murmur that the supplies are very<br>
basic without any
cloth for or other materials for repair.<br>
But being hired
help they do not complain they just whisper<br>
the bad start - a
omen - to the trip with lack of supplies.<br><br>

The
first bits of twilight shows and by now all the party<br>
has arrived.
The goats and rabbits are stored in the small<br>
hold which now
smells a bit better. But it will soon smell<br>
again due to the
animals. They would have more room in the<br>
smuggler's hold
but the temperature is too hot and not as<br>
humane as the
normal hold. The barrels of water, food and<br>
some wine is in
the smugglers hold.<br><br>
Dorhak
grins as he is captain of this ship and wonders if<br>
he should rename
her from the Black Depths? Finally the<br>
sailors stand back
and wait for orders. Dorhak issues the<br>
orders to unrope
and leave. Mournath with help from Arawn<br>
and Fremea in the
crow's nest slowly ease the ship out of<br>
the
docks.<br><br>
The
long trip begins.<br><br>
The
temperature ranges from 24 before sunrise to a decent<br>
73 degrees.
Mournath uses the wheel station to plot his course<br>
based on common
maps and writing materials. The day is clear<br>
and sunny all
day. The winds today are good winds with an<br>
average of 12
knots. But in total with the help of Arawn's<br>
spell the ship
makes 23 miles. <br><br>

Kiet
goes to his quarters and opens his newly bought sea<br>
chest so he can
set up some hammocks on deck. He unlocks<br>
it and is
surprised to find a note inside. It seems to be<br>
coded magically
and needs to be decoded with a spell.<br><br>
On
deck the ship encounters 6 ships to the west and south.<br>
Unali uses her
spyglass and she recognizes 1 is flying a<br>
Marentian flag
while the other 5 are flying Bhamotin flags.<br>
They all seem to
be warships. They are in a tight formation<br>
and flags are
displayed for flag signals. It seems it is some<br>
kind of joint
military training. Bhamotin shops are not known<br>
to be in the Sea
of Cholchara so it is not seen every day.<br>
As the ship nears
the fleet it seems the Marentian is giving<br>
flag orders for
maneuvers and such. The Admiral on deck is<br>
not known by the
party but is probably based in this sector.<br><br>

1636TH]<br>
[Sea of Cholchara,
Marentia]<br><br>
Today
is another clear and sunny day with temperatures<br>
range from 27 to
51. The ship is blessed with Superior<br>
Winds today giving
the ship with the spell a distance of 43<br>
miles
crossed. Finally the ship enters the Sea of Tears to<br>
turn south toward
the northern Bhamotin cities. <br><br>

Even
though there are wispy white clouds it is mostly<br>
clear there can
still be odd weather. Hail suddenly begins<br>
to fall and hit
the deck. It only lasts about 2 minutes<br>
but soon ends with
no damage.<br><br>

While
no fishing gear was actually bought the sailors<br>
do bring personal
rods and even a crab lure. One sailor<br>
pulls his crate up
to check the trap once the ship has<br>
anchored for the
night. He is very pleased to discover<br>
10 small crabs
that were trapped. That night the sailors<br>
and party dine on
small but nice blue crabs. <br><br>

Arawn
is on duty as Navigator. Sailing at night is not<br>
normally done but
suddenly a large wind storm erupts. Arawn<br>
orders the sails
rigged and the anchor pulled up. This allows<br>
the ship to move
fast and gain some distance. With the<br>
coastline always
in view during the day the stars are used<br>
at night.
The wind storm lasts about 30 minutes and the<br>
dies and anchor is
once again dropped for safety.<br><br>

1636TH]<br>
[Sea of
Tears]<br><br>
While
most of the day is clear and sunny as with odd spring<br>
weather it can
change in moments and be back to clear in minutes.<br>
Temperatures range
from 35 to 91 degrees today as it warms up.<br>
Today the ship
only gets average winds and only makes 15 miles.<br><br>

For
the last few hours it has been very foggy which forces<br>
a slow and safe
trip. Sailors are forced to pull down<br>
some rigging to
make it slower for safety. But around<br>
this time the fog
finally lifts and the full rigging is<br>
placed back in
order.<br><br>

A
small rain storm hits the ship as gray clouds start<br>
to unleash.
The rain lasts about 20 minutes and is<br>
a bit
refreshing.<br><br>

The
ship encounters a Bhamotin merchant ship going south.<br>
It is not as fast
as the party's ship so is easily reached.<br>
Since the magic of
Arawn's spell forces the ship to move<br>
regardless anchor
has to be dropped fast to allow any<br>
communication. The friendly Bhamtion captain says he is just<br>
coming back from
Sivas with luxury items for Kasha as he<br>
just unloaded his
cargo. But there is nothing to trade or<br>
sell. So the
party's ship continues onward to Kasha. <br><br>

A
storm approaches the ship as it is anchored off a<br>
small cove.
There is intense lightning, thunder and<br>
moderate rain
which lasts about 30 minutes. But<br>
the ship was never
in any danger.<br><br>
Arawn
calculates the rough location on the map where<br>
ship is and
fails. It is not discovered until the morning<br>
when Mournath
rechecks his calculations. But it was<br>
not a major
mistake.<br><br>

1636TH]<br>
[Sea of
Tears]<br><br>
Another bright, clear and sunny day for the most part.<br>
Temperatures range
from 40-73 degrees today. The ship<br>
only gets average
winds giving only 15 more miles of sailing.<br><br>

Arawn
is on duty when he notices lights around the<br>
ship. Going
to the railing he looks overboard and sees<br>
about 7 dozen
jellyfish of various colors and shapes<br>
in the water
swimming past. He warns Corona not to<br>
get close not for
the danger but they can make the eagle<br>
to fall in the
water and drown if paralyzed. <br><br>

After
3 hours the fog finally lifts and the clear<br>
skies are finally
seen.<br><br>

storm with no thunder or lightning only rain.<br>
It lasts about 25

Another rain storm hits the ship making those in the<br>
hammocks
drenched for about 15 minutes.<br><br>

Tears]<br><br>
Another mostly clear and sunny day which is not so common<br>
in the spring in
the Sea of Tears according to the sailors.<br>
Temperatures range
from 67-87 today. Only Average winds help<br>
the ship make 16
miles today.<br><br>
During
the day Mournath makes a mistake on navigation and<br>
actually turns
ship away from sight of shore for a brief<br>
time. But
the navigator quickly recovers. <br><br>

light drizzle hits the ship for about 20 minutes.<br><br>

For
those sleeping on deck in hammocks are suddenly<br>
awoken by hail
hitting them. The hail drops and lasts<br>
only abut 8
minutes but it is fast and heavy.<br><br>

North Shore near Kasha City]<br><br>
Another bright and sunny day with temperatures that<br>
range from 40-80
degrees. Mournath reports the ship<br>
is near
Kasha. Good winds help the ship make it 18<br>
miles today.

After
225 miles from Sivas the ship finally docks in Kasha<br>
City, Bhamotin a
city of 22,000. Sailors make final docking<br>
procedures.

Update....Wednesday...<br><br>
GM: First leg of
trip done. Was 5.5 days basically.<br>
Sadly no encounters for the ship to deal with as it<br>
may happen often. Maybe we'll get characters killed<br>
soon enough. Err. I mean. I'll try for next leg of<br>
travel for next update Wednesday. Next leg is Kasha<br>
to Vistair city - 100 miles if I recall (check the<br>
link on site for that detail if need be). So it'll<br>
be shorter at 100 or so. Kiet sent in gear stuff<br>
which is great. Remember if need updated sheets let<br>
me know. <br><br>
See below for more details. Any new supplies to be<br>
obtained? Who will pay for the supplies and docking<br>
fees. Docking fees are 5 Silver a day since no cargo<br>
is on board for a short term berth.<br><br>
Kiet did buy 13 hammocks for the ship that are best<br>
used on deck. There is really no good room for inside<br>
the actual sleeping quarters without ripping the bed<br>
berths out. So can be best done on deck if you want<br>
fresh air. For combat I will probably randomize who<br>
is where when. So some may be in hammocks on deck<br>
while others may be in the quarters.<br><br>
