[Recap]

From Pyan: [Re: Actions]
Pyan grins and
volunteers a dwarf, "Barbosa here seems ....

Pyan nods at the
eagles sagely remark. "Indeed we do....
GM: ACk.

From Pyan: [Re: Future of Pyan]
I was planning on Pyan
leaving the party at the end of the last
adventure with the
shifters as it seemed like the logical
thing to do with Pyan
joining the party looking for a way back
home and them being so
close to it, but I had grown toofond of
Pyan and didn't want to
put Scott on the spot to come up with a
replacement. We'll say
Pyan had gotten use to his new companions
and wanted to get some
books to share with his tribesmen.
Anyways Pyan is becoming
to uber powerful to be fun. :P I have
a character concept I'm
itching to play so I think we should
work on finding a
suitable ending to Pyan's journeys with the
party.
GM: Ack. IT will be sad to see Pyan
leave but if you wish to do
so that's
your choice. I did read the emails and other option
for a new
pc. I will try to email you on that later when
I have
time. We'll have to figure out a way to get Pyan
back
home. I have ideas. But to simply walk away in Tilal
would be
dangerous since its hostile per se. So will relay
those ideas
to you later.

Post from Raddok: [Re:
Training]
4/11 - 4/16 on board
sailing ship

Raddok discusses
learning the basics of Dagger training with
Kiet, & schedules
time with him. If Kiet suggests it, he will also
spend some days with
Unali after Kiet feels he's taught enough to
get Raddok started.
After watching the styles of the two fighters,
he knows he has a lot to
learn, & he doesn't want to confuse his
training with two
teachers until Kiet says it's time. He knows
he mainly wants to be
able to handle his new dagger with some
efficiency, & be
able to use it if caught without his other
weapons & the
fighting is in close. He continues to use his newly-
learned Marentian, as
well as his Dwarf Elder in various
conversations aboard the
ship.

He enjoys the generally
good weather at sea. When they reach port
on the 16th, Raddok will
again grab some time learning swimming
for a day, taking a
brief break from Dagger training.
GM: Ack. Assume once in Tilal
will do the week doing Swimming.

From Dorhak: [Re: Actions]
The Captain (of all
things to be called!) is glad that ...

"Alright
everyone, settle down! I want to discuss our...
GM: Ack. A god seeking
revenge. Thanks for the great evil
idea.
I may consider that. :)

Post from Kiet: [Re: Actions]
After listening to the
ugly dwarf, Kiet thought that ...

"I have something
to say too, if I may, Captain." ...
GM: Ack. Don't forget the
boots! :)

From Raddok: [Re: Religion]
Raddok is surprised by
Arawn's question, & blushes
lightly. "I haven't
discussed religion much on a ....
GM: Ack. Just a note you replied to
Arawn's email in a public
post. This
is why I don't post Arawn's speech below since
it was for
email. Since it was done here I included it.
But keep in
mind Usually Reply to All means public. Reply
can be
private or public depending on the To field like
the list or

[New Stuff]

[Apris 10th,
1636TH]
[Time: 2:25
pm]

While
Fremea and mermaids head to the village Arawn
prepares to dive
to the sea giant body.

First
he casts a peace spell Then he dives into the
water. He
casts a water breathing spell which prevents
him using any
oxygen now so he submerges. Arawn then
casts a shape
change into a large fat fish.

Once
the size of a large marlin Arawn dives deep toward
the giant
body. Takes about 10 seconds for him to get to
the floor then
another few seconds to find the body. Up
ahead there are at
least 4 sharks circling among the
rising
blood.

Soon
the body is found and is face up with back to
the ocean
floor. Arawn begins to look around the body
to search for
treasure. But being a big fat fish
isn't too easy to
search the clothing rather than
human hands could
do. But Arawn tries the best he can.

As
Arawn dived the sharks tried to come close but were
turned away by the
spell it seems. But as he tries to
recast it he
doesn't realize it fails.

Three
sharks charge Arawn in fish form. Arawn's swift
form allows him to
dodge two of them. But the third
takes a bit out of
his lower left area doing 5 points of
damage.

Arawn
quickly recasts the peace spell and the sharks are
once again
repelled.

Arawn
inspects the body and as best he can the clothing.
He finds the hip
bag and it contains as best Arawn can
see (bag is pitch
dark) dead fish, seaweed and as far as
he can tell that's
it. Fremea did mention there was something
on his back a bag
of some sort but it seems to be gone now
by the waves or
crushed under him.

Arawn
finds the chest where the elusive heart is located.
He estimates its a
good 2.5 feet inside his chest. It would
take time to carve
that hide and chest to get to the boy
and then
what? Would a heart survive long as tissue?

Arawn
surfaces and waits for the second shape change spell
to wear off and
then surfaces. He climbs the ropes tat
are lowered but
the sharks do not both him. His wound
is lucky not
severe in a important organ but just above
his hip.

Z'leyra helps to treat the wound.

Dorhak
shakes his head in dismay.

[Apris 10th,
1636TH]
[Time: 6:30
pm]

Arawn
asks for any volunteers to join him if they so desire
for the treasure
hunt.

Pyan
grins and volunteers a dwarf, "Barbosa here seems to
have taking a
liking to the water, I'm sure he wouldn't mind
joining you on
your little trip under the waves."

Barbosa waits for a good translation as he doesn't quiet
believe his
ears. Then he glares at the hunter. "I barely
bath much less
swim. ...that..earlier was a exception to
the rule as the
humans say. No thanks. I'll stay here
I need to ...keep
watch in the nest. It was my duty

The
mermaids wait for Arawn.

Arawn
dives into the mermaids. He places the tourmaline
into his mouth and
casts a shape change back into a fish.

Arawn
figures maybe the part could sell the giant spear
but not sure if
its worth it. Arawn follows the mermaids
to a area and they
point straight down then leave. Arawn
dives toward that
area.

Soon
it is clear where the lair is a cave inside a shelf
of rock.
Arawn swims inside and stops when he finds the
cave is in a air
pocket. He waits for the spell to end then
is changed back
into a naked Arawn. He climbs over the
side of the ledge
and enters the cave. He holds the
tourmaline in his
hand and extends his senses. The cave
seems to be a
natural limestone cave.

The
cave is about 60 feet tall and there are lichen on the
sides that seem to
glow a pale green giving some light.
The cave is a L
shape cave of sorts. Directly in front
is a area about 50
feet away. At the edge of this area
is a pile of
bones. Human, Mermaid, Merman and lots of
large fish
bones. There are maybe 30 human skulls of
any size form
children to adults.

Turning right Arawn steps into a semi round inner cave
that is 80 feet
around and 70 feet or so high. Arawn
sees signs of a
sleeping bed of seaweed and hides it seems.
for that
already."

In
this other cave there are plenty of other bones of
various animals
and fish strewn about. Then Arawn spots
what he is looking
for a old style sea chest. Arawn
approaches and
finds the chest very rusty and probably a few
decades old?
Arawn opens it and it creaks with age. Inside
he doesn't see
piles of loot but does find some things.

Wooden
Statue - Small, Wood, Value - 4.5 SC Statue of
Some man.

30
Eating utensils - Wood, value - 30 BB
Large
broken barrel - empty
13
Yards of Silk, Weight - 1.3, Value - 13 CC

8
Yards of Bhamotin Spider silk, Weight - 0.5, Value -
24 CC

Coins,
69 SC
Coins,
48 GC

Gem,
Medium, Minimal Flaws, Fine Clarity, Topaz, 10 SC

Throwing Dagger

Two 4
man tents - 8 CC each (16 CC value)

Arawn
lifts the dagger and it looks non human. Upon
closer inspection
he has seen such symbols and style
of metal
work. Back en route to Donara. This dagger
seems to be made
by goblins.

Arawn
checks around the dirt and garbage and finds a
few more coins and
adds it to the total above. Finally
doing one last
search he finds nothing else of value.
He then
translocates the chest and himself back up to
the ship.

Later
Dorhak examines the statue and gives it value. But
has no clue who
the man is probably some figure in history.
It looks like a
naval uniform of some sort he wears.

Finn
sighs upon seeing the chest contents, "not much for
the effort.
But guess giants don't keep much treasure?."

[Time: 9:43
pm]

Arawn
finds Raddok and asks him on his views in the
world like
religion.

Raddok
is surprised by Arawn's question, & blushes
slightly.
"I haven't discussed religion much on a personal
level, although
I've both listened to & participated in small
discussions of
various gods and the alignments in general." He
paused briefly,
looking out over the sea. "My heritage from
Donara is a mixed
one - many of us have contrary opinions and
beliefs from our
neighbors a hundred miles away, and we have l
earned to live
together anyway under one general ruling
government. If we
disagree, we often keep it to ourselves."

"I was raised to the beliefs of the Law alignment, Ashur
and Enki, and I
believe in their stands for truth and justice
and knowledge.
But, in my own personal experience, getting to
know and befriend
the dwarves, and their Bes and Dvallin.
Then when I became
friends with a couple of shamans and even
an elf, I
discovered that one shaman and the elf had both had
dreams they felt
were messages from their elder gods -
Morrigan,
Mathgen and others. They, we, that is, followed the
instructions from
those dreams and we accomplished great things
I wouldn't have
believed. I have even seen a Zehani, who is a
messenger of
Tehuti, and we all heard the message he brought to
our group leaders.
I don't even remember the titles of most of
these gods,
or their interests - but someday I'm gonna do some
reading about
them. I write down what I can in my personal
journal. But - all
these strange gods I have heard of in the
last few years,
and that I really don't know they seem very
real and at least
a little concerned with how we i've our lives
here. I can't
dismiss any of it - at all.

"So, I have learned a bit out here in the world - mostly
about how much I
do NOT know." He turned, grinning, to Arawn.
"So I prefer
to ask for help from wherever it might come & give
thanks for staying
safe from harm, to whoever out there who
might be listening
- whether they are of the elder gods, who
have been around a
lot longer than many of the other gods, and
built a pretty
decent world, or my own home country's deities
that support law
over chaos. It can only be a good thing to
recognize any
'helpers' we have. I guess I just tend to
support any gods
I've been told about that support the
things I love
about Life and the people who are my friends,
and am willing to
fight those that worship the gods that try
to destroy the
good things in the world. I don't pray out
loud much, except
in extreme circumstances, however," and he
grinned again,
still a little blushed.

[Time: 10:08
pm]

Corona
and Pyan share stories that evening.

Pyan
replies to Corona. Pyan nods at the eagles sagely
remark.
"Indeed we do. It is so common among the people where I
come from I forget
how rare it is among these people."

[Apris 14th,
1636TH]
[Time: 7:21
pm]

The
Captain (of all things to be called!) is glad that leg of
the trip is
over. Dorhak is also somewhat concerned about the
return trip. The
threat from those fish-men is no laughing
matter. Also,
what if Mr. giant-who-walks-on-water has friends
who want to avenge
his death? What then? Creatures like that
giant are usually
favorites of some god. Will they 'send'
trouble?

Before
landfall, Dorhak asks Z’leyra to gather everyone for
the evening
meal. He tells her he just wants to talk about
staying over in
Tilal.

Dorhak
makes sure the meal is a bit better than normal, or at
least more
plentiful. He looks around at everyone. In his
opinion they
look a bit worse for wear, but he thinks all
humans look that
way. Elves, meh. At least the little faerry
seems to be doing
fine. "Alright everyone, settle down! I want
to discuss our
next port."

"I don’t know much about the country of this port, Tilal,
the navigator
tells me. I know it’s Rogizini". Dorhak says the
word carefully, as
if he is unsure how to say it. "But I know
little. I do know
that they have slaves. I also know how some
of you feel about
that," he says with a glance over to Fremea,
"but keep to
yourself. Don’t mess with the locals or their
property.
Trading and exploring is fine. But if I hear you
are causing
trouble you will be on thundermug duty till we get
back to
Marentia!" He looks around and continues. "Also,
because they have
slaves they might not be real picky about
how they acquire
them. Don’t go off by yourselves. Stay with at
least one other
person. Most of us think we can take care of
ourselves but do
not test me on this! All it takes is drinking
the wrong mug and
you’ll be out of the city before we know you
are
gone."

"When we make port, I want to begin by getting supplies
ordered. I also
want to get a small craft we can use to get to
shore when we
don't have a port. You never know when we might
need
that." He thinks for a second then says "It will
look
suspicious if we
anchor near land at Vahear, and they are
likely to have
constant patrols, so I expect to go to port."

In
Tilal I want to get repairs to sails and wood and fresh
supplies. Repairs
might take a few days, so why don’t we
spend
a week
here? I could use some time where the
deck doesn’t move
under my feet."

"Does that sound reasonable to everyone? Again, be
careful
here. Most of you
wouldn’t go quietly, but I don’t want any
trouble."

"sailors, you will rotate shore leave. If you can
convince
anyone from our
group to take shifts for you, that’s fine and
have fun.
Report to Z’leyra for shift times and days. Anyone
that wants
to sleep on the boat to save money may most
certainly do
so."

"And let’s not regale these people with the tale of our
killing a water
walking giant. You never know what bad
attention that
might bring us."

Finn
speaks up, "this city has a small fleet of maybe a
dozen ships with 2
or 3 triremes I hear. So it will be fun
to avoid
patrols. At least we look like a merchant ship."

Fremea
speaks up and explains according to Kaylle that
the city is about
30,000 strong. At one point the city
defeated the
empire against a 60 thousand army. She begins
to blush a bit and
turns around briefly as she speaks of what
Kaylle says.
Once recovered she explains that most do
have slaves in the
empire and do not like outsiders much
or magic. So
it best be to avoid culture shock.

After
listening to the ugly dwarf, Kiet thought that now
might as well be
as good as any time to let the others know
what he found
out.

"I have something to say too, if I may, Captain." Kiet
looks
at the rest of the
group and continues. "Just after we left
Sivas, I found a
letter in my gear from that old man we brought
the ashes
to. Anyway, it took a bit but I figured out what he
was telling
me. It seems the Fomorians are working against
my home island of
Lemasa. The 'item' they are looking for is
part of their
plans. While most of you may not care that much
for my island
home, it's rather dear to me, even with all its
faults."

"I guess I'm trying to tell you that what we are doing is
important. So lets
™s be careful."

Brutto
looks to Kiet, "what's this thing with the red
hair and your
land? Is that some myth or just a weird
story?"

[Apris 15th,
1636TH]
[Time: 10:00
am]

A
customs ship boards the ship before the ship is boarded.
The Rogizini men
search the hold and question why a cell
cage is
there? Before Dorhak can explain Finn states
they ship wild
animals at times and shows them the animals
that feed the wolf
and eagle. The man seems to take this
as good and moves
on. Lucky they do not find the smuggler's
hold. The
officer checks the manifest, takes names
of passengers and
paperwork.

A
naval officer with the customers inspector translates
into Bhamotin from
Rogizini. "Everything seems in order.
How long will you
be here?"

Dorhak
says a week at least to get some rest and some
repairs to the
ship.

"Fine. We suggest sticking to the wharf and nearby districts.
Getting further
east into town...causes issues. Oh wait. This
document on
ownership....seems...odd. This may need to
be investigated
and a possible fine placed..."

Dorhak's ire begins to rise but Zepp steps up and
whispers.
"Its a shakedown. He wants a donation to
his favorite
charity." Then ends the whisper and
steps
back.

Dorhak
mumbles a few words in Dwarf and realizes
the Bhamotin
didn't do this stuff in the other ports.
He wonders if this
fine is larger than any bribe he
could
offer?

The
Rogzini man waits pretending to flip through
his papers as if
pondering how long he can wait
here before he can
go to another ship. Finally he
looks up.

[Time: 10:08
am]

A tug
soon arrives after the custom ship leaves.
The captain asks
which docks he wants. Typically
there are tiers of
quality. If getting large cargo
then need to get
the best. If not then a medium or
small dock is
fine. Based on the level of dock it
will be either 11
copper per day, 22 or 33 for the
best cargo more
secure docks.

Dorhak
wonders if this is another shakedown but the
captain boards his
ship waiting for a answer to direct
the ship to the
best docks.

Z'leyra reminds Dorhak that repairs are actually much
done. Its
more getting supplies.

Dorhak
nods, "Oh. Wouldn’t want to dally about too long
here
then." Then change 5 time to three days.

GM:
Finally! Done. We are now in port. And I
resolved the treasure thing finally. So I'll
consider the treasure sold for party? Let me
know otherwise.

Ship will stay in port 4/15 4/16 and 4/17 and leave
morning of 4/18. Unless change plans will use pre
defined IBT info. For example if learning swimming
then will have 3 good days of that.

Slight mistake in last update I ended time as 6pm
at the very bottom it was 10am when got to port.
Mistake from Dwarfs not me!

As ordered I will assume folks go in pairs. I
will randomly roll 3 days of possible encounters
for the next update. If you do NOT wish to go
ashore then let me know. Will assume some shopping
and exploration is done. Bathing and the like. Even
if want a Inn let me know if you want a comfy bed
for a change and which level of Inn. Else will
assume sleeping on ship.

Keep in mind here they speak Donaran 5%, Climan 15%,
Marentian 5%, Bhamti 5%. Most wear Scimitars and
some daggers if armed. Some may even have bows but not
as often.

GM: IBT Document
online updated for a month since last
updated. Fixed and updated stuff. I will fine tune
actual things when I get to Vahear and update sheets.
Keep in mind if you have selected NO IBT you'll lose
out if you need to change IBT let me know now.

GM: Arawn - Will
update sheet with spells cast later.
Treasure collected aside form heart as per email.
I forgot to do your transmute idea to hold the
body in place. But you may need to decide if
that's worth it as once body decays will be hard
to anchor in place.

Dorhak : 3 days thanks. Who will pay the bribe?
Who will pay for 3 days of docking fees? Out
of the party treasure?
