Admin notes: The loot info is big so it gets its own supplement.
----------------------------update-------------------------------
What follows is the results of the long updates of loot selection
previously a couple months ago. It is in two parts. The first
is what each player will get and the second is what will be
divided up among the party. In that section if you see a item
you want you gotta pick it. I will allow ONE week to do last
minute grabs. If you don't want anything when you do your
actions for Friday you can say so that you don't want anything
and that will help to hurry up the process. Otherwise after
that period everything in that section will be sold and then
divided up among those who remain.
In the individual player loot sections you will notice some
items in []'s. This is just a way for me to clarify the item
based on more information. Its NOT two copies of the same
thing but one object and a clarification/note. For example:

their own military. I'll roll on a random basis for this. To
help improve their military defense complex. Otherwise here
is how it will pan out in a rough outline:

So at this point it looks like everyone will finish with 50 Gold
at least among themselves. However here are things to consider.
* Selling: Like with weapons there are selling ranges that will
be used by me (secretly) to convey final prices. This reflects
wear/tear/used items, etc. Those items with @ in them like
armor are USED items that may have blood, gore and kinks in them.
Thus they may sell for lower. Those items with a # selling Range
symbol may be rare and thus sell for a BIT more than the average
price. Course supply and demand works here with surplas of
sold items may get lower prices. All will be factored in.
Players could help sell items however its probably best to hire
a merchant to do it as a group. Since it will take time (days
at least 3-4 or more) to do it. During that initial time
home there will be debriefings so players will be busy. Aren
can recommend a honest merchant so there shouldn't be a issue
of being cheated. Once everything is sold I'll annouce the
final totals and then do a fair share after the above taxes
and cuts. There is still a slight chance that the military
may deem armor and weapons important for their own military
use and thus onfiscate it. However being heroes they will
be hog-tied in doing so with a good face. So they may
confiscate but buy it off the party (though at a lower price).
This reflects the typical way governments may need military
supplies. This will be a slight (low) chance however.
* Party: For purposes of selling items the party will be
everyone that returns on the ship home. This includes
the 8 or so dead folks. This reflects payments to
their families or next of kin to help in expenses. I figure
this is only fair. If anyone objects let me know. At this
point I believe the total is 46. There may be another cut
with the Wave Dancer sailors who bought the party to the
island. But then again they were military paid so they
likely will only get a nominal bonus if any. This
will be randomly determined at the time.
* Ship: Whatever ship is taken home. It may be confiscated
or sold. Will depend on factors of how the military and
king are feeling (random determination of goodwill). If
the ship is sold the profits will be divided up as usual.
* Personal loot: Personal items in the top section is yours.
You are free to trade a item or give it away or exchange
with someone before or after you know what the item does.
That is your free will. But I must inform that the Priests
and Wizards will insist that items (even personal) must
be inspected. This reflects the paranoia that a evil artifact
may get away from Clima into the wrong hands. Thus if a item
is considered tained or evil (chaotic for example). It may
be destroyed or confiscated. You will be informed at that
time. You MAY get a change to overrule this or buy the item
back though probably at steep price. So that 50 Gold may
dwindle down in this regard. If one wishes to hide or
refuses to allow inspection of said objects be warned that
those items or persons may find themselves in the Marentian
justice system. This again reflects paranoia of a group of
adventurerers returning from Clima alive after 2 other groups
did not. There will be extensive debriefings and interrogation
of players as well for national security. You must inform
me before landfall in Marentia if you wish to refuse or hide
a personal item (non-party-treasure).
* Rewards: There MAY be (likely) other rewards by the King on
return home. Thus even with the loot there may be a fair
amoung of national reward. That will be determiend later.
I normallyu don't give players an enormous amount of loot
like this. But it is only logical after the Climans have
raides at least 22 nations in the last few months and took
their loot back to the mountain. It would be illogical to
have their warehouses full of nothing. [But don't expect
this amount in future games :)]
* Magical items: If you wish to determine the ability of an
item you have several options:
1) Buy knowledge; Buy information by leaving items with
Wizards and Priests who can determine the item ability.
May even include scholars. Price will be haggled at
the individual basis.
2) Spells: One could use spells to learn the ability but
this is a slower process. The drawback of this is it
will take time away from the post-epliogue time (3
months) before the next adventure.
3) Trial & Error: Find a nice forest. Find a nice tree
and see what it does :) And hope it doesn't hurt :)
Let me know which items you wish to gain info about and
in which methods. Then I'll handle it in personal private
email.
* Weight/Space: Each loot item will ahve a weight value.
The reason weight is important is there is a limited space
in the hold. Warships have no real hold. But the merchant
ship has a 40x40 foot cargo hold. I'll have to determine
exactly which hex can contain what item and thus will be
limited to what the hold can ...well..hold..
* Final Loot: Finally, what loot is finally taken will be
determiend by weight and space. It is possible that the
hold will run out of space and some items will be left
behind. Personal gear I'll consider to be with your stuff
usually close by or in your backpack. It would be good
to put in hold and i can dedicate half a hex or a hex of
space for those items. I just don't know at this point
what will be taken. However, I will strive to take
ALL armor, weapons and money. Everything else will be
based on space limits and high value to low price values
down. I'll know more once other decisions are made.
So if you want any changes make so within a week or by the time
you say so in your next move whichever is needed.
Congratulations...this must be one of the largest loot invenotry
lists I've done for a party in 20 years!
