From Z'leyra: [Re: Cloaked figure]
Z'leyra says <in Zen'dali> "My compliments on your troubadour
skill last night. It was both meloncholy and beautiful." <in
Marentian> "Accompany us for awhile, if you wish. I am Z'leyra.
These are my friends and comrades." She indicates the party with
a wave of her hand.
GM: Ben'dar and Caladan look at each other when they hear Zen'dali
and mention of events last night but in confusion. Xian,
Farseeker and Z'leyra will later explain on the trip the events
last night to clear the confusion. When the cloaked figure
does not seem to reply back in Marentian Z'leyra quickly
covers this by speaking the last part in Zen'dali.

From Ben'dar: [Re: Horse]
Ben'dar introduces his new horse:

Its already on the list and website for those who want
to see it :)]
Ben'dar is riding a new horse, a massive black warhorse with
a very long mane and tail. Its coat is glossy and as black
as midnight under a new moon. Around its muscular neck it
wears a jeweled leather collar that sparkles in the sunlight.
This horse is obviously a very proud and powerful animal, and
it whinnies loudly while stamping the ground impatiently with
its sharp hooves. Ben'dar seems to be working hard just to
keep his mount under control.
Looking up at the party, Ben'dar smiles at the party and says
proudly, "This is Tef'wo. It is the horse that the Great Lady
Varo prophesied I would find!" Questions:
Is the mysterious man on the donkey still covered with a hood?
Can we see his face? Does he have any weapons in view?
GM: It will take about 4 days to get the horse to you but by
that time it will settle into and get used to your steady
hand and control.
Xian: "You mean what Lady Varo said came true? I thought...
So that means that..." [He glances at Jordi, Unali and
Chion and others..in thought.]

From Cloaked Figure: [Re: Intro]
The cloaked figure nods to Trembyl, but doesn't reply.
After Z'leyra compliments his music, he replies in Zen'dali
"Thank you. I was wondering if I might travel with you?"
The figure, whose cowl still covers most of his face, says in
Zen'dali: "I do not understand the words you speak. I have
only been in this land a short time, and have not had an
opprotunity to learn their language."
"I am Strie'bog, and this," indicating the wolf, "is Boyzdar.
We are traveling to Cholchara and seek companionship on the
road. The guards at the gate said that you were heading
there." Though he speaks Zen'dali, it is with an obvious
accent.
Answers to questions:
Yes, the hood is still in place. Strie'bog takes pains to
hold it in place, even while trying to catch up. The lower
half of his face is visible. It is very pale, almost the color
of pearl. His lips are full and red, and he sports a thin
brown beard. Of what can be seen, he looks young and very
attractive.
As for weapons. You see a finely wrought long bow and a
quiver of arrows, with green and brown fletching. Strapped
to the saddle of the Donkey is an axe. No other weapons are
apparent. Of interest though are two cases attached to the back
of the saddle, apparently containing musical instruments. He
also struggles with the reigns of the Donkey, apparently unsure
of how to ride a horse.
GM: If you haven't figured it out by now he is a new player to
the game. Welcome aboard! The orster at top has been updated.

[New Stuff]
Sepes 4, Wendida in the 163rd Year [TH]
Location: Maren City
Trembyl [In Marentian] "May we help you?"
[When he gets no reply Z'leyra talks to the Cloaked
figure and thw two talk. Z'leyra then introduces
him to the party and vice versa.]
Farseeker: "We are heading to Cholchara you are welcome
to join us on the trip. We may be a bit slower
getting there than you would by yourself on that
donkey but it might be safer."
Thig: [Mumbles in Elf Sidh] "At least I won't be the
suspicious character from now on..." [When Strie'bog
turns and perks to the words Thig realizes he must
understand him and continues.] "..that Cowl hides
more than your face. We all trust one another here
even this guy" [he points to chion and grins] "you
may want to eventually reveal yourself but that
is your decision."
Balrog: "We better move out..."
[The party leaves and soon loses site of the city
and even the city margins.]
GM: Due to the slow party speed (9) I have to redo the
already rolled up encounters. But then I realized that
the road helps movement. So in this case I apply a 1.5
to movement or 14 miles per day on the road.
[As the party moves slowly the sun sets soon and
the party decides to camp in the plains about
a mile near the road. A campfire is set and
sentries designated. Dinner is cooked. In fact
Z'leyra explains she has learned some cooking and
may show off her skills during the trip. The
boys look cautious but agree.
The party tries to ask questions to Strie'bog to
learn more about him during the travel and that
night at camp. The common language would be
Zen'dali for talking to him.
Caladan: "You know Zen'dali are you from the Plains?"
Balrog: "What's with the cowl?"
Farseeker: "What do you do? Are you just a musician
going around performing?"
Kasha: "That instrument there is something I've not
seen before what is it called?"
Trembyl: "Being with us could be dangerous as we tend
to bring about problems. So you best should stay
clear of any danger if we fall in it."
Xian: "Don't mind them. They are just curious.
In fact many here are new to others. Some of
us have only known each other for four months.
Chion, Ben'dar, Jordi and Z'leyra for example are
fairly new to the group. We are heading to help
Caladan here with problems in his tribe in Zen'da.
As you may have guessed he and Ben'dar here are
from there. When we get to Cholchara maybe we
will see your performance there if we have time."
[That night the temperature drops and conversation
continues on. Soon after dinner however the
party falls to their own interests. Tents are
setup and sleeping bedrolls are laid out. Sentries
are posted. Farseeker quietly explains to the
party that Strie'bog should not be a snetry alone
until the party gets used to him which is only
a natural reaction to a newcomer.]
GM: The questions to Strie'bog are up to him to answer and
are meant to get to know him. Robert your free to answer
none, some or all of the questions. No encounters this
ngiht.
Sepes 5, Thusuda in the 163rd Year [TH]
Location: 14 Miles NW of Maren City, Plains/Road
[The party wakes and finds Z'leyra cooking a bit
of breakfast. Some eat rations and feed the
horses. Others eat other things in their packs.
The party breaks camp and sets back onto the road.
During the day it is cloudy but there is no
weather - just normal conditions. The temperature
even reaches in the high 80s. But by evening the
temperatures lower to the 50s.]
[During the trip Strie'bog breaks tension by
singing a few songs and playing his guitar
like instrument.]
[That night another camp is setup along the side
of the road.]
GM: Theres 12 valid sentries (Strie'bog will be sentry
eventually when party knows him better). This gives
each person a chance to be a sentry for 2 hours. This
breaks down to 2 hour shifts with 1 as stationary sentry
and another as a walking around sentry (walking around
the camp and watching - also stoking the fire, etc.
The Eagle, Firesnake, horses would tend to be always
asleep at night time. The dogs and wolf may stay up
at various times but tire eventually and sleep.
First two shifts consisted this night of Jordi, Thig,
Trembyl and Unali. The 3rd shift 10pm-12am is Caladan
and Farseeker. By the time of the encounter Caladan
is walking sentry and Farseeker is the stationary sentry.
The other party members are all asleep nwo for at least
two-three full hours.
[As the party sleeps around 11:39 suddenly the
Wolf perks up and growls in Strie'bog's tent.
The dog Pogo also perks up and barks twice.
By this time of night the cloud bank has decreased
but its still partly cloudy with no moon some stars
are seen. The only light in the camp is the
campfire.
Caladan near Xian's bedroll jerks his head up
as he hears a flap high above him. The then
sees some dark form fly by as stars are blotted
out by the quick outline. Caladan yells to
Farseeker]
Caladan: "Farseeker! Eye to the -"
[As he was about to speak the last few words
suddenly a blanket of utter darkness falls
everywhere. Caladan notices the flicker of
campfire go out or the campfire does?]
[At that same instant Z'leyra jerks up and
gets a danger sense. By now the spell for
Chion has worn off. But Z'leyra sits up and
notices to her left a form by the hroses
soem large cow sized being lumbering toward the
camp at a distance its hard to tell.]
[From the yell Trembyl immediately wakes up and
is full consciousness. Xian and Jordi also
wake up. Everyone else is still asleep by
the end of this update.]
[Farseeker hears the noise and looks around.
He places his hand on his great sword and
looks around. He then notices a form approaching
him just before the campfire light fades.
A human female wearing a green tight cloth walking
toward him. he draws out his great sword and
yells "Intruders!"]
[With the campfire light doused its total darkness
in the camp.]
GM: Armor Status - Helmets and Weapons would be in reach
but not worn typically (helms) or held (weapons). Same
for shields. Armor that would worn is below:
Ben'dar - Leather not Dragon Armor - The dragon would be
far too itchy to sleep in.
Chion - Your chainmail would keep you pretty cold and as its
cold already you'd likely not be wearing it.
Jordi - Scale mail I could see you wearing but would be
slightly cumbersome to sleep in.
Strie'bog - You could sleep in quilted
Unali - Leather armor is fine to sleep in
Z'leyra - Your leather is fine but ring armor would as the
chainmail conduct too much cold and cumbersome to sleep
in. So only wearing leather.
In the future it might be good idea to let me know what
you do sleep in but these assumptions above is what I'm
using now. Here is a map of the camp layout, hope it
helps.

Next update will likely start combat. Turn 1: Phase 1.
Since we have a new player I want him to get used to
combat so we'll do one phase for the first turn or so
and hope by then he'll know how best to handle it. So
plan for 1 phase update increments (two phases next
week (monday, friday).

Xian - +1 EL to flute got better during the last couple days
and even plays with Strie'bog!
Z'leyra +1 EL in Shield skill
Chion - For your spells you sent - You need 2 sustenances
each day to get your FP until its higher ELs. One
Watchful sleep spell did fail (see chart).
I list the spells on the chart for those who post them or
those that are public or known.
Well that's it for now. Alot of work. I started this
10pm and ended up 3am :) 5 Hours to update alot of
files and get things done. Monday should be faster :)
