Admin notes: Well. None.

[Recap]
From Z'leyra: [Re: Actions]
Z'leyra looks serious and states "Graverobbing is a serious
affront to the spirits. But it might be worse than mere
graverobbing for wealth. The graverobbers may be seeking a
specific item for some nefarious plan or worse yet, may be
using chaos magics on the bodies."
"That the Zend'da haven't been able to locate the robbers
implies some special ability possessed by the robbers.
Though it may simply be high skill in concealing their
tracks, I suspect that I should refresh my skills in
protection against chaos magics. Hopefully I can make
enchantments to assist us to resist the chaos magics."
GM: Ack.
From Ben'dar: [Re: Actions]
At the completion of Caladan's test, Ben'Dar looks upon his
friend with undisguised pride and admiration. "You are
willing to make such a sacrifice for the sake of your people."
Ben'Dar glances out the open window of the lodge to where
Tef'wo is tied up outside. Then he looks down at the floor
ashamed, "I don't think I would have the strength, were it
my test." Looking back up, he nods respectfully and clasps
Caladan's forearm tightly, "You are a great man, Sundancer,
and I am proud to be of service to you, now and always."
As Cetric passes around the peace drink, Ben'Dar looks at
Cetric with distaste, but then glancing at Caladan, he shrugs
and takes a gulp, passing it on.
Ben'Dar sees that Strie'bog is very upset and pulls him apart
from the others, "I know that you are angry with Cetric, and
I don't blame you. Cetric deserves a slow, painful death.
But that would hurt Caladan's people at a time when they are
already in trouble. Let us determine what this grave-robbing,
crop-failing menace is and eliminate it first. Then, we can
exact a suitable revenge upon Cetric for his treachery. But
right now, I need some healing...and I'm in the mood for some
of your music. Care to play some of that soothing healing
music to help me with this?" He pulls his shirt down to
expose the swollen, ugly bruise covering much of his upper
arm, wincing slightly as he does so.
Later that evening, Ben'Dar shows the rest of the civilized
members of the party just how rowdy barbarians can get, by
challenging them and all the warriors of Caladan's tribe to
a drinking contest. During the contest, he teaches (very
noisily) some Fel'oros drinking songs and drinking games.
That is...until he passes out in the early hours of the
morning. :-)
(OOC: Ben'Dar gained some skill points in the whip...did
he also get a few skill points in unarmed combat?)
------Post #2 from Ben'dar------
Ben'Dar nods, "That will probably be very helpful ere long,
Z'leyra." Ben'Dar adds, "If Caladan and Xian are going on a
magic journey, leaving us behind...perhaps we could set out
to take a look at the nearest graves that have been disturbed
to try to get a clue of what we're dealing with?" Turning to
Caladan, he asks, "Caladan, how long do you think you'll be
gone? Do you have anything you'd like us to do, or should we
go examine the graves?"
GM: Well its night and no windows its covered blankets :) But
the idea is good concept :) On skill points. No. It was
a blow using strength since not skilled. I didn't apply
it as a future thing. For that you'll have to train.
From Chion: [Re: Actions]
Chion hears this and suggests "I could offer my humble
services friends. If your mind stores an accurate image of
the location, that is. And besides, I am always happy to
meet another practicioner."
GM: Ack.
-----------------------
From Strie'bog: [Re: Actions]
Strie'bog just stares at Cetric when he begins to drum,
hatred glaring in his eyes.
To Xian: "Yes, there is animosity between us, but it will
be finished by dawn."
During the ceremony, he will take the bowl and look dead on
at Cetric, saying "to the Lord of Life."
As the gathering begins to end, he will walk over to Cetric,
making sure that all (even the tribesmen) see this exchange.
"Cetric," he says looking him in the eyes. "There is hatred
between us. You heard my story, and seen the axe I carry. I
was trained well to use it by the one who brought it as a gift
to my mother in honor of my birth." He'll let that point sink
in for a moment. "Betrayal of a sacred ritual of life is an
insult to my family Cetric. With your drum you challange me,
you claim that I am no warrior. There is a custom among my
people, for two who have bad blood to fight with no weapons,
no magic, just their bodies until one is unconscious. Will
you, without proxy, accept this to cleanse the blood between
us and show the elders of your tribe what I am capable of?"
GM: Ack.
From Jordi: [Re: Actions]
Jordi will pass the drink when he is offered it; he won't say
or do anything, except passing it to the next one.
He won't say a word in the tipi. He will just wait until
the party is alone again.
(In Marentian)
"Caladan, what will happen to Jolcz? Will she be dishonoured
in any way? Had this... test any wron consequence for her?
And what about Enoz?."
After hearing the answers to his questions, Jordi will think
for a little bit.
"I said when I was with Enoz that I will return the gift. So,
I will look for Jolcz, and I will return her with his father.
When I return, you can tell me what you have decided."
Jordi will look for Jolcz, and will offer her one of the party
horses (as a loan, this time) to return with his family; Jordi
will go with her.
"I have to return the eagle to your father, Jolcz."
During the trip, Jordi won't say a word, except for asking
Jolcz where is a drinkable water source (one that is not in the
tribe campament, of course); unless Jolcz wants to speak a
little bit more, of course. When Jordi arrives to the tipi,
he will explain to Enoz what happened exactly, word by word,
if posible (at least, the essence of what was said...) except
for what happened in the council, because it was explained
that it was a secret.
After that, Jordi will return with the party.
(OOC: Not taking care of Jolcz, now that the test is over,
will be, for Jordi, very unpolite).
Jordi will meet with the party, to know what they have discussed
in the meanwhile. If decissions will be taken tomorrow, Jordi
will wait (resting) until tomorrow out of the camp, and he
won't eat or drink anything from the tribe.
Of course, he will use his magic to heal any party members that
wish to be healed; El 0 for wounds of less than 5 hp, maximum
EL for more serious wounds.
GM: Ack.
From Strie'bog replies to Ben'dar: [Re: Actions]
Laughing, "I will play, and I do not worry. I would not
deprive Caladan's people of their shaman." Strie'bog begins
to sing to heal Ben'Dar.
GM: Ack.

[New Stuff]
Octaqi 16, in the 163rd Year [TH]
Location: River Sch (E) Riverbank, Zen'da Plains, 306 Miles
North of Asichi City, Heading East from River
Location: Village Lodge
Time: c. 10pm
GM: Well now. I was going to have this out sooner. But
the Strie'bog/Jordi situation sorta slowed me down. Wasn't
expecting it. But then that's what RPGs are for. So
let's try this again. [Version 2.0 of this update]
[After hearing Z'leyra's comments Cetric turns around and glances
at the Elders. He then turns backa dn looks at Z'leyra.]
Cetric: "That is something I have considered. Zen'da are not
rich by ...your standards. The most we might have of any value
is art works or private heirlooms. Nothing of great value
to warrant such grave robbing. As to Chaos magic I know
not what that means or where to start."
Cetric: "As I said earlier though. We did capture one person
and he died from battle wounds before we could question him."
Xian: "Excuse my ignorance. But in order to understand the
situation better could you explain your burial rites?"
Cetric: "Depends on the tribe. The Western tribes even go
so far as to bury their dead in the forests. Some along
the hills and mountains might try there. But by far the
majority of graves are done on the plains. Most are buried
in certain spots depending on family clan living areas.
There are sacred grave sites where Sha, Ga'sha and Shamans
are buried sometimes in separate areas to honor them
depending on their success in life. Ho'ga'sha's have
burial sites where a constant guard stands to honor them.
This is our most sacred site. But that site is hundreds
of miles to the west. Some warriors may be buried with
their horses if they are killed in battle. Other than
that not much to say otherwise."
Xian: "Thank you."
[Cetric nods.]
[Caladan hears Ben'dar but leans closer to him after the
meeting is over. He speaks in a quiet voice.]
Caladan: "Actually, I knew it was my father's test not Cetric's.
I guessed as much and was right. It is complicated. But in
reality I still have yet to pass the test...As to the
sacriface. I doubt I could do it in the end but then we
never know until we are pushed up against the wall..."
Caladan: "How long will we be gone? Unknown. I surmise
getting clues from the graves are slim but maybe you and
the others can find things the others haven't."
[Caladan hear's Chion's offer]
Caladan: "From what I gather you can teleport as well?
How far eight or ten miles? Might be faster to go
by horse but even then its a long journey. How far
can you teleport? Its quite a distance maybe two or
three hundred miles."
[Caladan thinks it over and recalls past events.]
Caladan: "Actually its roughly 203 or 205 miles to his
valley almost due south of here in the mountains.
I'm sure that distance would exhaust any ability to
teleport further by Xian or you? Sadly riding that
distance could take a week or more. Maybe we don't have
time to travel that far after all."
[Jordi passes the peace bowl without drinking. Cetric
notes this but says nothing. More attention is paid
by the Elders in the background who note this with interest
and murmur among themselves.]
-----------------------
[After the meeting...]
[Jordi talks to Caladan about Jolcz]
Caladan: "Jolcz will be fine. She plans to marry the warrior
who went with you. Our relationship ...didn't last and
we knew it wouldn't long after i left years ago. She
actually enjoyed the whole thing. She has a good sense
of humor. She will be fine and not dishonored. Enoz?
You can return the statue to him but in fact the transaction
of marriage is done. You just sorta...speed it up. So
the transaction was done with honor. Enoz will understand.
Maybe another time I would have married her. But it was
unfair to keep the plans we had. We ended them years ago.
Problem was Cetric suspected and we just confirmed it. He
wasn't positive though so he setup the test. You did a
great job. The look on your face!" [He grins then gets
serious] "Never fear. Honor is not disturbed."
[Jordi returns to Enoz's tent. During the time in the
darkness. The warrior who went with Jordi travels as
well with Jolcz. They whisper a while and talk as the
trio travels in silence. Jolcz turns to Jordi.]
Jolcz: "Don't worry about Cetric. He is a mischievous
person. but he only has the best interest of the tribe
first and foremost. I'm sorry the trick he played on you.
But in the end it was fun. Even if it was at your expense."
[The warrior gives a mild laugh.]
Jolcz: "No hard feelings? If I knew he was planning that
I would have warned you. I honestly suspected a few
bits of it but didn't put it together till I got to camp.
We were planning on marrying a month ago. But then all
the various problems started. We delayed. Cetric still
sees me as a little sister who shouldn't marry. But I'm
a woman and its time for my life to begin. No matter what
he says. In fact your little test thing declined his position
and improved mine a bit!" [She giggles.]
[Finally they arrive at the Tipi. Enoz comes out upon hearing
the horses. He offers Jordi entrance into the Tipi. He
hears Jordi's speech.]
Enoz: "Ahh. So that was what happened. I was curious myself.
Makes sense now. I will take the Eagle back and welcome it
with no hard feelings if none is from you as well? But the
horses you gave I must also return to you. For they are
not worthy of me or my family."
[Jolcz whispers to Enoz.]
Enoz: "It is late. Would you like...to stay with us tonight?"
-----------------------
[Backing up. Toward the end of the meeting...]
[Strie'bog challenges Cetric.]
Cetric: "I know not this proxy? I offered each of you
peace. A peace this lodge is made for. You stain this
place. You and that one [he points to Jordi]. At
least you drink and take the offering. He didn't.
He shouldn't be allowed in the lodge. But I did not
speak of it out of respect for the Elders and Caladan.
But you. You call me coward. Something in this lodge
is a sting as hard as a slap. I did not go through with
what I wanted to. I stopped. I respect this lodge and
what it stands for." [He leans closer and speaks in
a quieter tone so only Strie'bog can hear with ease. The
others have to strain to hear.] "You are Vassa? I hear
they are a peaceful people. The way of the warrior is not
everyone's belief. The spirits respect this and so do
I. but you stain your people by not representing your
true Vassa self." [He steps backa nd speaks louder.]
"A fight? No weapons? To the blood, knock out or death?"
Trembyl: "Your going to fight?"
Cetric: "I offered this one peace. He refused. I could
have challenged him further. I did not. If he wishes
to prove himself so be it. If he doesn't so be it. This
will not be spoken of outside the lodge. We can still
leave in peace. The choice is his..." [He turns to
Strie'bog and waits for an answer.]
Actions? Comments?
Next update Friday...
Strie'bog:
1) You wish to fight? If so to what end? KO? Blood
or death.
2) Healing of Ben'dar is done through basic healing or
other methods? Want to make sure.
Ben'dar
1) Later that night do you go into a complete drunken state?
Chion
1) Wish to elaborate on your abilities? :)
Jordi
1) Stay with Enoz?
2) Horses?
[Aside from healing for Ben'dar the other wounded are still:
Farseeker (healed 1), Chion (healed 2), Unali (healed 0).]
[After this will move the night ahead and either do the Cetric
/ Strie'bog fight or move on. Will do Natural Healing at
midnight. Then move the time to morning. At that point
Z'leyra will do some things that morning.]
GM: Ok. Not much in the update. But need to get replies to
move further at this point. Sorry for delays.
