As the group debates on the course of action Arawn ponders the events that have led up to this, including the most recent news in regards to the presence of an enchantress or shaman. Something about it just didn't feel right, as if they were all walking into a trap or facilitating part of a bigger plan. Regardless it seemed apparent that their presence was now known and that the enemy would be prepared.
"I hate to say this but I don't like the way this feels. I mean, why go to all this trouble to kidnap Strie'bog's mother and then not only keep her alive but also keep close to the edge of the wood? Even if they needed her alive this just doesn't seem very sound on the enemy's part. I mean of course they would expect an attack and I just don't think the numbers present reflect that they are worried about overly much about that. After all the peoples of the wood would attack in large numbers and they have to know that once she is under the eaves of the forest she is empowered once again. There has to be a reason they are doing things this way. So what is it and why? I worry that we might actually stumble into some trap or unwittingly aid them in some master plan.
Nevertheless I understand that we must save Strie'bog's mother I just feel that we need a better plan of action. If they are already expecting us then I think it is safe to assume that, as mentioned earlier, that they will be expecting Sidh and Elder magics to be used against them. Perhaps those who use other magics might be a good choice for the assault. In addition, if they wish to use the hostage as a shield against attack then they have now had ample opportunity. As soon as we enter we may find her in a compromising position where they can execute her before we even have a chance to strike.
If we go in there I think we need to accept that incapacitating the foe is secondary to removing the hostage from danger. We need to decide how that is done. I also think that if they plan on using her as a bargaining chip to neutralize us as a threat or force us to perform some task in lieu of her life that at least one of the teleporting crew should come in obfuscated from sight, although I'm not sure if Invisibility is the best choice at this time it is one of our only options, and remain in a non-combative state so as to maneuver to the hostage, whether we are still there or not, if the latter then they may need means to escape with the hostage. If nothing else then perhaps they can remain behind and spy on them after we are gone, if we are forced away.
If we do decide to wait then again, I offer my services to scout if everyone thinks that is the best option. Perhaps by sending my shadow. I can also invoke the power to see through solid objects if I can get close enough to the building to look around, maybe 20 feet or so. Ultimately, however, I will go along with the groups decision on things."

Arawn will assist in Sensing Mana and Reading it if the
party looks for magical traps. He goes along with the groups
decision on things but mentions that the enemy will likely
be prepared for traditional Sidh and Elder methods, like
Invisibility. He thinks animals could be used to detect the
Invisible and that other counters may be used.
He also offers to turn into an insect or send a shadow to
investigate things if they prefer.
If the party feels he is needed in a particular spot he will
go there. Otherwise he will stick to taking out guards and
such and will resort to Invisibility and Luck spells. He
will offer these to any that desire it (remember he is a bit
drained) but, if no one asks, will likely offer it to any
that choose to go off alone.

Ben'Dar listens to the various comments, nodding and
commenting during the discussion.
"That's true Xian and Thig, the Green Lady could be dying
as we sit here in discussion."
He suddenly seems to realize that he has spoken callously.
"I'm sorry Strie'bog." He adds gravely, "If it were my
mother, I suppose I would have already charged out there
like the reckless fool that I am. Do you think we can
afford to wait for darkness?"
"I will charge in on horseback when our scouts teleport
inside the cabin." He smiles at Unali, "I will be glad
to back-up your lethal blades out there. With our archers
and spellcasters here in the trees I don't think we'll have
too much of a problem with the handful of outside guards."
Looking around at the others, he adds, "The cabin interior
is where the critical fight will be. I think Farseeker and
Arawn should go with the teleport team to help out inside.
The quicker they neutralize the threat inside, the safer
Strie'bog's mother will be. I would suggest that Strie'bog
go inside also, but we need his bow out here."

Z'leyra says "There is not much point in waiting around.
Lets proceed with the scouting. I will cast Orient Self
(EL0); Mind Shield (maxEL); Speed (maxEL); Invisibility
(maxEL); and Insubstantiability (maxEL) and go scouting
around. With my MDV I will likely survive any magic traps
or spells cast at me. Xian, would you hold onto my satchel
until I get back?"
[If necessary she would also cast Dark Sight on herself
(maxEL) after OS]

Adventure #3 of the 1633rd year [TH].]
[Location: Pavassa Forest - Eastern Edge/On Plains]
[Time - 10:05am - Current situation]
[Arawn suggests various things. On mention of Sidh
countermeasures several react.]
Thig: "This I suspect they have done. They have to
know there are sidh in this forest. Though likely
most Humagi would never encounter one this far from
the center of the forest. If they have a shaman
though they could be ready."
Trembyl: "Which makes going in hidden and insubstantial
dangerous in itself."
[On mention of going in as insect and sending in a shadow.]
Xian: "Unless you have the ability to change to an insect
your not likely to find one. This time of year and
this far north theres virtually no insects around like
flies. They would all be dead or dormant."
[On mention of the shadow Trembyl steps back away from
Arawn and the others...]
Trembyl: "Shadow? You know shadow magic? That is indeed
some mysterious magic commonly used for ....not so good
purposes..."
Thig: "It is indeed rare for an Elf to know such magic?"
[He cocks his head slightly] "But an Alfar might know
some but again I've never heard of such."
[Ben'dar is unsure about this Shadow stuff. But he
replies to previous things after he considers the
various aspects...]
Ben'dar: "That's true Xian and Thig, the Green Lady could

[Farseeker nods. Ben'dar feels the words are in pure jest
but most non "civilized" folks might take offense. He
also realizes they may be distracting Strie'bog from the
stress and tension by humor.]

[Suddenly as the party continues to talk Corona lands
on a tree nearby and flaps getting Z'leyra's attention.
Z'leyra approaches and the Eagle communicates to Z'leyra
by low croaks and squawks....]

GM: Ok. At this point I still have no clue when Strie'bog
will be back on vacation. So we have to stall the
game some more. Until I figure out what he wants to
do in this situation. I'm still unsure on actions
in some cases so I'll go and post what I have figured
out. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Ben'dar: I assume you want to fight outside via horseback.
Thig: Will be fighting via the air
Trembyl: Forest edge using Archery then melee/horseback
Xian: Forest edge using Archery then melee/horseback
Strie'bog: Don't know yet.
Farseeker: Wishes to fight outside then help inside
That leaves us with 4 possible scouts or attackers
for the Cabin - Chion, Z'leyra, Arawn, Unali.
The four of you guys need to figure out if there
is to be one single scout or all 4 entering at
the same time? Or if one person wishes to
fight outside then enter.
I would like to start combat Friday but I'm not being
realistic on it. Next monday is Memorial Day in the
USA. So many folks use it as a summer vacation time.
If you are going out of town please let me know and
we can wait till June 1st for combat start. This
will give that Friday/Monday update time for vacation.
If no one emails me or informs me though of no vacation
then we can continue as normal. Sorry for the delay
in this update. I was stalling some to see if Robert
might be in town and I ran into some other things :)
