[Recap]
From Will: [Re: Actions]
Will takes a moment to sketch the Dragons, Kiet sprawled on the
deck and Fremea caught in the rigging he will also sketch the
major landmarks on shore as he does not want to forget this area
just in case he comes this way again.
Over the next couple of week he will also sketch the village's
they visit as well as the more notable landmarks they pass to
add to his collection.
GM: Ack.

[New Stuff]
[Ma 3rd, 1634TH]
[Location: Eastern Ocean, Heading S/SE, 490 miles south of DL]
[Weather: Patchy Clouds, Temperatures 70-80s as highs.]
[Wind: Low speed]
[Time: 1:44 pm]
As the dragons both seem to fight over the food in the
water or snipe at each other the ship moves away. Will takes
the time to sketch both dragons. He can only sketch them from
a certain way not knowing what they look like on the bottom
or their tails in detail. But their shoulders, heads and
that mouth of razor sharp teeth are easy to sketch. Then
as the hours draw on he sketches from memory Kiet's fall to the
deck and Fremea's entanglement in the rigging. If only for
a future story or as a memory. Who knows the two bards might
need visuals for their great ballads in years to come.
As the ship moves on Will also sketches the landmarks.
But in fact there isn't great detail. seen one tree see
many thousand more pass. There are no high peaks or cliffs
so far in this trip. Just miles and miles of trees. It
seems the only landmarks are the occasional coves, villages
and reef spots. It is clear a sailor could be lost without
charts in this area.
Soon Will tries to sketch villages stopped at but the
sailors insist he do it from ship. They believe doing such
things could bother the natives to think he is some spy or
enemy sketching defenses and the like. It isn't like sketch
one fishing village you sketch them all. They are pretty
much small villages with the same layout. Docks, warehouses,
taverns, homes and shops. Not much detail is needed for such
sketches. There is low quality on building design here and
all made from wood though some stone structures exist. It
is clear in the Choshai forest wood rules as building material.

[Ma 8th, 1634TH] to [Ma 23rd, 1634TH]....passes by...
---------------------------
[Ma 23rd, 1634TH]
[Winds: Average, Speed 7]
[Distance this day: 31]
[Weather: Overcast, Wind storm]
[Temperatures: 61-71]
[Time: 1:14pm]
[Magical talisman: Not active at this time]
As the Choshai merchant ship nears the Blue moon, Captain
Tung hears no objections from the party. Looking around the
party did usher Fremea and Arawn below deck. It would not be
good for the Choshai to see them. Of course some in the party
might be a bit obvious with magical things they carry but it
would need close inspection.
A long gang plank is placed admidship near the hold ramp
and connects both ships. This is about the 3rd time the ship
has done such a ocean connection with another ship since the
month or so of sailing started.
"How can we be of help?" Captain Tung yells to the Captain
of the Choshai ship.
"We seek a trade of certain supplies. May I board so we
don't have to yell at each other like barbarians?"
Captain tung nods and waves the man across. The other
ship captain walks forward followed by two other burly sailors.
The sailors wear only daggers as typical for ship life. The
captain has a sword which is also typical for most ships in
case of rowdy crews and pirates. All three sailors seem to have
light cloth and leather armor but not much on.
As the other captain and two sailors cross onto the Blue
Moon, Captain Tung shakes the other captains hand. "I'm
Captain Tung of Lemasa."
The other Captain looks at the flying Lemasan flag and nods.
"Captain Uli Dilvan of Choshai. We are in need of certain
metal items." The captain looks around and glances at the various
party members and sailors.
Captain Uli draws out a list from his belt a tiny scroll.
"But first I'm afraid I'm here on official business. We
are in need of a ship inspection. There has been rumor of a
wizard's party in the area and we hear he has been causing
trouble in some villages."
Captain Tung lowers his hand and steps back a foot. "This
is international waters. We are out of your jurisdiction."
Captain Uli shakes his head. "No. You are closer than you
think. You will allow our inspection?"
With that as if on cue suddenly from the other ship about 20
armed and leather clad sailors emerge from below deck and run
on top of the ship. It becomes clear this "merchant" ship is
more a troop ship than anything else.
"This is highly unusual..." Captain Tung glances behind
him at the others trying to consider his options.
First mate Wa-son leans to a sailor and whispers, "get Zhou
up here. We may need his fast talking words."
Those on deck glance at the other ship. It seems as wide as
the Blue Moon. But not as long maybe 10 feet shorter. it has
one large rigging and no emergency rig. The deck looks like most
merchant ships with lockers and provision cabinets. In the
rigging there is a crow's nest as usual. But in this one a sailor
is standing watching the Blue Moon. As the true intent of the
meeting is revealed the sailor draws a crossbow and prepares it.
Below on deck the deck the 20 guard-sailors spread out. All
are wearing some form of leather armor or quilted armor. None
have helmets or shields. All have daggers in plain view and
some have swords, short swords, spears and some have broad swords.
There are a few other sailors doing various tasks on deck that
aren't just staring at the Blue Moon like the guard-sailors. These
have swords, daggers or both. There appears to be two ways down
below on the other ship like on the Blue Moon. Aside from the
crossbow in the crow's nest two sailors have bows.
Actions? Comments?
Next Update...Friday...
GM: No one had commented on the ship approach so moved it to
this point from the last update. As this has been done
before alarms weren't sounded. So here is where folks
are at this time. A sailor would have likely heard the
exchange and rushed below to warn those on the hold deck
to prepare. Since no one posted to hide various things
I will assume some things are in plain sight. If not
listed with armor or weapons they are likely in your
sleeping area.
Arawn: Was on top deck but rushed down due to Elf status (the
ears). Now just at the stairs to top deck and would
have some warning. Would have sword but no armor due
to ocean life.
Ben'dar: Top deck would have seen the full exchange.
Would have leather armor and daggers. But not
training others today so no other weapons at hand.
Caladan: Deck 2 hold deck. Not aware. Staff only.
Chion: Deck 3 passenger deck. Not aware. Dagger No armor.
Farseeker: Deck 3, Not aware. Sword no armor.
Fremea: Deck 2 near Awarn so slightly aware. Leather and
dagger only. Not in disguise.
Kell: Top deck aware of situation. No armor. Tulwar/Dagger
worn only.
Kiet: Deck 2 hold deck. Not aware. Leather, dagger only.
Raban: deck 2, horse hold area. Heard exchange is aware.
Can climb up ramp if needed. Has armor/dagger.
Strie'bog: top deck, heard exchange. Is aware. But turned
away from others as his skin might be a problem.
Has armor. no weapons.
Shu: Deck 2. not away. No armor. Dagger.
Unali: Top deck. Is aware. No armor. Has daggers.
Will: Deck 3 cabin level, Not aware. Armor and daggers only.
Z'leyra: Deck 2. Not aware. Has magical staff, dagger.
No armor on.
Zhou: Deck 3. not aware. No armor. Has dagger.
GM: Top deck - Ben'dar, Kell, Strie'bog, Unali
Hold deck but aware: Arawn, Raban and Fremea.
Ben'dar doesn't know the Katai language and hasn't signed up
for the language slots. So looks like only Kell, Strie'bog
and Unali understand the words. But Ben'dar can see the
threat of the sailors - guards likely on the other ship's
deck.
GM: For those not aware you will soon once word spreads. But
likely will hear the anchor being lowered and the ship not
moving might alert that either ship is docked or stopped.
If the inspection goes through there is enough stuff around
the ship to be a problem. It is unclear these Choshai have
detectors but from those on deck it appears they do not.
They seem like simple customs people under the Prince's
authority.
GM: Other ship - Guard-Sailors - 20
[Seen] Sailors - 7 [2 on Blue moon]
Captain - 1 [On blue moon]
Blue Moon: Party - 15
Sailors/Crew - 12
GM: If map is needed I can do one. The gangplank is on the
starboard side about 4 feet wide and about 8 feet long.
It shifts as the ships shift but both ships are anchored now.
Ship is in sight of land abotut 2-3 miles away.
Overcast. No rain nearby. Choshai being neighbors to Katai fear magic as much as Katai does. Though not as fanatical. Would have heard the stories of the crew about choshai. If Katai is 100% anti mgic Choshai is like 40% in most areas or as much as 90% in some.
