OOC: From a height of 100 feet you can only see about 12 miles
to the horizon which may make for a long trip (from a standing
height above the water its only 2.8 miles)
GM: Ack. Well jumping over the sea is a bit dangerous than
land as jumping into a storm or hitting a bird and you
drown. Personally I rather have bones crushed than drown.
From Arawn: [Re: Actions]
Let me try this again:)
- Treasure Split clarification-
Current loot/Pirate Treasure-
- Votes to give the treasure to the captain and crew (along with
the fallen sailor's family) or if the group plans on splitting
things, giving Arawn's share of the treasure over to the sailors
If the captain takes his entire share Arawn will suggest that
maybe a portion could be donated to temples of Manannan and Zu
or, lacking that, to purchase materials for the figurehead.
Arawn will work on it after the adventure and add his own
resources/money to it as well, regardless of whether the
captain wishes to a small portion on donations or the
figurehead and Arawn will not begrudge whatever the decision.
Future treasure (does not include current/pirate loot)-
Due to his share of things last adventure Arawn is thinking of
taking a lowered share of treasure from here on out (after the
the pirate treasure is dealt with) for an indefinite period of
time or until the group decides he's paid his due. The 1/3 to
1/2 comment is in regards to future treasure, where Arawn would
'return' the stated amount to the group treasure to be split up
by the others. This would effectively give Arawn 1/2 to 2/3 of
what his share would normally be, trying to return funds to the
group while allowing him to support himself while abroad and to
assist or payback others. If anyone has another suggestion then
let me know. Scott, to simplify things for now I'll take 2/3 of
a normal share unless the group feels it should be lower.
Hopefully this clears up everything:)
------------------------------------------------------------
"If you or another wishes to go instead I am fine with that....
OOC: Arawn usually ports high enough upwards that he gets a good
view of the land (much higher than 100 feet). The levitate is
just to keep him from falling while choosing a new target point:)
GM: Ack. Ok. Give pirate share away. Future share 2/3. Gotcha.
Simple understand it with one line. But first read it
looked a bit confusing.

"That is a good idea. What is your signal?"
GM: Ack.
From Will: [Re: Actions]
Will considers the discussion and says
"I see the arrows but where is the naphtha?"
OOC: That was a pretty impressive greek fire demonstration for
there not to be any naphtha empty kegs etc on board our ship.
Will has been thinking about the detection issue
"The combination of detection or other high level insight...
GM: Ack. If you would like further information on this topic of
sensing magic or such consult your local Upper World Library.
Must submit four forms for the request and a large enough
bribe to the resident Sidh guardian. All the secrets of
the future will be revealed in doing so. Education is fun!
From Fremea: [Re: Actions]
Fremea wonders if all these people have even thought about
making the wagon that she will need to be stowed in. Most of her
equipment will have to be in there way before they off load. She
is sure they will be watched, especially after they turn in the
pirates. Asking no one in particulare, "Are we going to be...

GM: Ack.
From Will: [Re: Actions]
Will strokes his chin and speaking to Arawn: "So just how good
are you at that Trans locate thing... perhaps we could....
OOC: It seams to me that it would be to the overall good to
maximise the abilities of the party members to not only get
into trouble but out of it as well. If my calculations are
correct from a height of just over a 1000' you could see about
40 miles to the horizon so a couple of hops would put us well
out to sea. If you needed more expertise, a few el 0 hops to
get you up to el 7 could save our bacon latter.
GM: Ack.

[New Stuff]
[Junaga 26th, 1634TH]
This day some notice Kell zooming about the ship as if in
magical flight going back and forth. Tied by rope to ensure
he doesn't fall overboard or overfly the side it looks like
a bird trying to escape his cage. Some notice he does this
about a dozen times this day.
---------------
[Julis 4th, 1634TH]
Arawn and Kell discuss the battle mind in front of the party.
Arawn suggests using a verbal warning about the spell.
"That is a good idea. What is your signal?" Kell asks then
continues on. "I say we also discus tactics to assault the Vong,
we have a large group and can be more effective with planning.
Whilst I'm only a minor wizard, I can help in battling large
groups as well. I'm planning to summon several large Living
Earth Elementals to fight the Vong. That should help our side.
These are very, very strong fighters and should be most effective
against the Vong. I just need a bit of time. Then have the
Elementals attack from the side opposite our group. Then we
hit the Vong from the back."
Farseeker speaks up, "we thought we'd just send you forward
to talk to them and try to sell something while we attack from
behind. That was our plan...we talked about it one night
while you were sleeping."
-----------------------------
[Julis 4th, 1634TH]
Soon after Arawn is fished out of the water. Arawn asks Fremea
about skills that might help him in the future. She responds
to the Alfar.
"Yes, there are many tricks I can show you. Mostly in the city,
as it seems you have me beat in the forests. We could even
practice in Katai."
That morning when the fate of the prisoners are talked about.
That morning when the fate of the prisoners are talked about.
Kiet voices his idea to slaughter the prisoners and how best to
handle the crew from talking.
Raban listens carefully before he speaks out, "Kiet is right to
be concerned. Those who do minor crimes always frequent the Taverns
in search of an easy mark. People drinking heavily or spending much
coin will always be watched carefully to see if they are worth
the risk to rob. But what is worse is the ladies associated with
such places gain other income from selling information they learn
from their lovers bragging. Pillow talk is the most serious risk
here. Mention the wealth, what we have done, our massive gifts or
especially any magic and there will be troubles. They will try to
avoid assaulting a ships crew knowing such will try for revenge or
can have connections to get the guard after them. But talk of much
gold can overcome such wariness. If they are too afraid to do
anything themselves they will sell the information to more powerful
people. Sometimes too much wealth is a good thing as that implies
friends in high places. A noble will mark us as hands off for the
most part. But that does not protect the ship and it's crew. It
would be best if the ship leaves quickly and spends money in
another port far away."
"Pillow talk?" Farseeker smiles. "You seem to speak from personal
experience there. But we are a noble group so we are expected to
have some coin and spend them well. If we don't then our cover is
not as solid as it could be. For folks like the bodyguards they
would not be expected to throw coins around. As to the crew the
Captain could order them restricted if we asked I'm sure."
Ha'Kell adds, "I too agree. Let us disembark and then the Blue
Moon leave quickly, not leaving this to chance."
Zhou waves a hand, "the ship may be needed. If it leaves fast
we may need a quick escape. We also may need to go to other
cities. What is the chance the Vong are in the one city we
need to go to? About 1 in 20. If we hire another ship to go
through the river we could risk higher exposure. I say the ship
should stay until we have some form of plan going on ashore."
Arawn nodded as he listened to Wa'Son's suggestions.
"Thank you. Excellent insight and suggestions. Naphtha arrows are
very reasonable and we already have the bows to lend credibility
to the story. As for the prisoners, I am thankful that you
mentioned the possibility of rescuing those that might have
suffered at their hands. It further pushes my desire to hand them
over to the authorities and Zhou might make mention of it to the
authorities to help push the issue. I can only hope and pray that
some, if not all, will be saved or closure given to friends and
family."
Ha'kell joins in, "the arguments have swayed me. My vote is the
captain turns them into the Katai, and let them be sentenced as any
other pirate. Hopefully some of their victims can be rescued.
Let the Katai execute them. Our story should be safe. As Wa'son
says, if they try to escape then they are asking us to kill them."
Will considers the discussion and says "I see the arrows but
where is the naphtha?"
Wa'son replies, "used up. All gone. Katai has good sources
of it if you need it. So its not that all hard to confirm."
"Thig another faerry we knew used naphtha arrows." Farseeker
adds. "It was a pain to contain in small enough amounts. He
had to regrow hair a few times but wasn't killed."
Fremea adds her view, "My masters always used prisoners,
especially ones that they knew would escape any way, to plant mis-
information or even give plans out, that they knew would be sold
off or used to their advantage. We could accidentally let slip some
important news that the guards could take and think they are acting
on something important. Like we are on the hunt for a wizard that
plans to stop the noble from an important mission or something
that turns the Katai people off of us possible being magic users.
Always good to use misdirection."
Will nods and says, "Might work... I like it"
Caladan shakes his head. "I don't. If we even mention magic
the guards would be suspicious. They would ask even more and
more questions we might not be able to answer. I think its more
a risk." He pauses as if hit by a thought. "Though what' is
to say we don't plant the pirates with a magical item? Claim
when they attacked they used magic and that destroyed their
ship? Say the magical trident? It did and can do that water
spout thing. If they investigate maybe they would trust us
more for turning in magic users rather than hunting them down
and wanting the prize for their own commander?"
---------------
Later that afternoon discussion of taking items back to the
Dark Lands comes about. Will replies to Arawn's offer.
Will says "I was just planing on making a hop to an intermediate
location and then to the village next to the citadel and blame any
magic that was detected on the same rouge wizard aboard the pirate
ship that sank his own ship with a spell backfire."
Arawn nods, "If you or another wishes to go instead I am fine
with that. It is just an offer in case others are not willing to
risk the jump. As for intermediate areas, jumping too far too early
would make it more likely that a sensor would detect the caster. I
don't know what they have at their disposal to deal with such if
detected but I would guess that they might have something up their
sleeve. If you wish to be the one to teleport I would have no
qualms but I would like to hear what the others have decided."
Will has been thinking about the detection issue "The
combination of detection or other high level insight types of
spells could be used to create a map that shows the locations of
spells(ala Maruders map less the people). If they were using a
map of all of Katie then the large fireball used on the pirates
should have showed up as well as the talisman if activated. If
the map was on that scale however you would probably need a
separation of hundreds of miles to make it appears not to be part
of a pattern of magic use. If the map did not track ships then
it would just be something out at see from the general direction
that we had come from and not specifically point to us. If on the
other hand they used a lower level but more dispersed item that
asked the question via the detection spell which ships have had
magic cast on board in the last 72 hrs if made by a journeyman
wizard it should be nearly foolproof (detection yields no
information on abysmal and yields the correct answer on failure
and the direction and answer on success) at picking our ship
out. For this though they would need one or more for each port
or other point of entry. If you were to combine the two well...."
Zhou nods, "that is likely the case. We don't know all the
powers they have. We are entering the Katai capital zone and
that is bound to be a high sensed area. But there a dozen or
so cities on the coast alone. Not including the dozens and
dozens of smaller villages. Lucky for us it will be over
72 hours before we make landfall. But the map idea is what
Shu does with her spells. So it is quite possible they have
the same thing. In her case she can round it down to a region
not to a particular city or such."
Will strokes his chin and speaking to Arawn: "So just how good
are you at that Trans locate thing... perhaps we could collaborate
on this."
Arawn turns to Will, "I'm not quite as good as Chion but I can
cover several hundred miles at a time," Arawn replied before moving
to the man's side to quietly continue the discussion.
Fremea wonders if all these people have even thought about making
the wagon that she will need to be stowed in. Most of her equipment
will have to be in there way before they off load. She is sure they
will be watched, especially after they turn in the pirates. Asking
no one in particular, "Are we going to be meeting our contact at
the docks, and do we have the carriage with the hide spots, as I
have equipment that a child should not have?"
Zhou looks to Fremea. "The contact yes. We will need to
ride to him. I doubt there will be a wagon dealer near by.
The plan..." He begins to outline the day's plan.

Next Update...Friday...
GM: By now all but three have character sheets. I have to finish
the sheets for Will, Arawn and Z'leyra. Reminder. If you
don't have Ocean survival with Seaman let me know. Its
given automatic. Also the languages should all be updated
for Katai/Marentian speaking on board. I hope to have
the last 3 sheets out by the end of the week. Check your
gear and ensure all is ok there. Also many folks have a large
amount of coins. If you wish to stash some back at the
Citadel/Dark Lands let me know. I'll note it as being there.
Any other gear can go if it can be teleported. Deadline for
these gear changes is 10/2.
GM: If you had Z'leyra pay for your ship fees now that all
have some gold let me know if you repay her. This goes
for other loans folks may have done for other players.
GM: Next update. I will resolve the teleport of Will/Arawn to
the Citadel. Including all the rolls, possible encounter
by flying monsters who could kill them and results. I will
also resolve the outline Zhou has for the day. I was hoping
to do both tonight. but lots of behind scenes stuff on
the teleport last minute changes so couldn't. Also ran
out of time. Have to get up early tomorrow so bed early.
But should be in next update. Like I said last time the
updates will likely be smaller for awhile.
