Well I've not had time to start the update. Lots of good
posts have come in. I've just not had time. But this
side issue of the Bridge or no Bridge will delay the update.
I can't do the next update if it involves a possible encounter
if those folks who go off to the bridge are captured or killed.
So I will have to delay the next update till this matter is
resolved.
I believe its Will, Fremea, Kell who have set this side
mission up. Kell seems to have wavered. But I still
need to know if you three will go off.
You've seen Zhou's comments basically a no its a waste of
time comment. You've now seen Unali's as need to weigh
the benefit to the risk but up to you to decide comment.
As to Chion he won't take you there as it is too much a risk
to the party, mission and himself. So you'll have to get
there by horse or Will's teleport.
As GM I don't care if you go or not. Only that I know which
in order to progress to the bridge and hold off the other
stuff (travel on road) or move on to the travel stuff. Can't
do both for possible paradox in the time / space thing (just
never know who could be killed).
i will reiterate one thing. This bridge is a major bridge.
In modern terms it would be the Brooklyn or Golden Gate
bridge in terms of activity. In any given day there are
hundreds passing over and under the bridge. The river is used
with heavy traffic by boats and might have 30-50 boats a any
one time under the bridge in any given hour. This is the major
land bridge for many many miles via the highway. There are
several points where rafts and boats taxi folks across but as
this is the major highway north-south from Shantou to the
south this is the main bridge for the province.
This is under and on the bridge. At the road there could be
many others and on the shore maybe a half dozen more folks
fishing and relaxing.
So it would be like sneaking onto a bridge like golden gate
in a chicken suit and hoping not to be seen. Of course
if invisibility is used then it will improve odds. But as
has been warned by High Elder how common is invisibility to
a normal magic user apprentice? It might be so common that
would be one of the things they detect for (as previously
warned by the High Elder).
Don't take these as warnings or suggestion not to do it. I'm
only doing a clarification of what the river is like in terms
of traffic. At night it goes down drastically. At night
there might be 1-5 boats at any one hour and as the night goes
longer less people. If I were to guess traffic might go down
to a dozen or so at any one hour as farmers and other travelers
move north mainly at night (most wouldn't go south at night).
Will pause the next update and delay it till Monday. You three
discuss this and let me know what you decide. It seems no one
else is interested in joining but I may be wrong.
If you do go I can work up a quick map and details and you need
to let me know if via horse or teleport. If by horse it is 3
miles so might take some time (1-2 hour depending no who has
the slowest horse). Then time back and to catch up to the
others.
I will await your answers. discuss it in email if you wish
or list and let me know result. Thanks.
