[Recap]
From Kell: [Re: Actions]
Dang! I forgot to hit the list. Here you all go.
[Ok Scott, I'm going to motivate you with the phrase thrown at
me for motivation. Post or Die!!!! There. How is that? :)
There isn't much for Kell to react to here, or in the previous
post. Kell didn't know about the woman Will saw, or he'd go trail
her and see what he can see. Is it too late for that? When will
talks about her, to drag Will back and try to find her?
I must not have read too carefully, I missed the people Kell
could follow. sigh. Or I'd have done that. anywhoo... Back
to our regular emails.]
Ha'Kell listens to Will describing the woman. As he does his
ears perk up [he he, get it, perk up! ermmm....] and he stops
Will. "Can you find her? We should try to. Now! Let's go....
Anyone have a different hat for Moving off to try and find that
woman with Will, he'll look for a different hat to buy quicly.
If they cannot find her, Kell wants to see where she was. Maybe
he can find a piece of her hair or something to use to find her.
[If Will doesn't or can't go, then Kell will still hang around
inside the city to listen for more info.]
GM: Ack. Never threaten a GM. :) Never know when those random
out of the blue sky lightning bolts hit that one spot you
just happen to be in. :) Yeah. Each major update has minor
and major clues or plot hooks. But if one doesn't catch
them and followup fast those chances are gone. So yeah
its too late. if Will had trailed you might have caught
up with him and both trailed her. As with the two who left
the building and down the street you could've followed them.
As well as Raban could've followed the guy he saw or there
could've been investigation on the stage area or the archers
or the nearby shops. Plenty of things. But since the guards
are now on alert all of that is a bit too late now. :<
From Raban: [Re: Actions]
<oops sent to wrong email again!
Raban walks with the others but is a bit distracted thinking
about everything that occurred. Something was wrong, it did not
fit together right.
"Is it possible the Vong somehow arranged this horrible scene...
<Life is but a play with more serious critics
GM: Ack.
From Fremea: [Re: Actions]
Fremea nods as Raban starts to work things out. "Yes. There...
GM: Ack.
From Will: [Re: Actions]
Will says "that was a more interesting execution than I expected
though it raises more questions than it answers"
Will in addition to describing the women offers to sketch her if
that would help. He would also be more than happy to accompany
Kell in the search>
GM: Ack.

[New Stuff]
[Augado 5th, 1634TH]
[Location: Middle Katai Plains]
[ Pamau Province, Pamau City]
[Time: 4:18pm]
A couple blocks east of the square the group of four regroup
back up. Will speaks of the person he and even offers a sketch
though doing such in the middle of the street would be difficult.
Will says "that was a more interesting execution than I expected
though it raises more questions than it answers"
Ha'Kell listens to Will describing the woman. As he does his
ears perk up and he stops Will. "Can you find her? We should try
to. Now! Let's go. Anyone have a different hat for me?"
Will glances back down the street where she might have gone.
She was the typical Katai gal and they all seem to look the
same here. Same height, same hair, same body frame and same
style of clothing. Now there are hundreds of people on the
street going this way and back. More people are coming from
all over the city to see what the alarm is and to see who was
attacked as rumors spread through the streets.
Raban considers the past few minutes of activity. It was
all too fast and seemed oddly styled on the stage in the square
as if it was an act. Ironically instead of a acting stage
it was an execution stage. "Is it possible the Vong somehow
arranged this horrible scene at the execution to increase the
rage and hate against those with Magic? Was everything done with
magic or was part of that some of the odd Vong tools, like those
fire orbs? Can the Vong teleport in some manner? The whole scene
was planned, though the women had to know she would die. There was
no way to guarantee she could escape with the timing they used.
Yes, she knew she would die and what she was going to do was more
important to her. Hers was the dramatic role that was to incite
more violence. Did she actually do any magic? Or did she use
things to make it look like she did? Could the Vong control of
people allow them to suicide like that or could we see the conflict
in their actions? It does not quite fit together, something was
faked or poorly executed in their story so it strikes me are
wrong. Sorry, when you have performed in so many plays, seeing
someone else's act always brings out the critic."
Fremea nods as Raban starts to work things out. "Yes. There are
many twists going on here and we are getting caught in the middle.
I am sure we are not supposed to be here, seeing things as they
are, because we have a way to unravel all the work that is in
place, however we must do that. No mother I have ever heard of
would sacrifice herself for her kids to be safe, unless it was
the only way. The woman in the square did not nothing more than
create all eyes on her and then destruction. The one had to be an
impostor of some sort or she knew she would be brought back to
life later on. The father died way too easy if there was supposed
to be that display after. So, either those were not the real
parents or they struck a deal to keep their kids completely safe
somehow, though I doubt it. We must be watchful as they know we
are here some where are going to be easy to spot. We will want to
change our appearance some, though it will be tough for you my
large friend."
Fremea walks toward the Inn where the wagon is at, keeping all
her senses, special and trained, open to make sure nothing comes
at them. "I do remember sensing something at the base of the stage,
so I know it was not just the uninvited guests doing it, there has
to be some groups working together. We will need to find out how
to turn them against each other, so we are not the targets for
stopping them anymore."
Fremea leads the four down the street through the crowd. With
Raban as point the crowd seems to part quickly for them.
[Time: 4:21pm]
----------------------
[Time: 4:14pm]
As the fire rages inside the warehouse, Arawn can tell it
was well planned. There seems to be oil and other things to
aid the fire from paper rags to naptha small deposits. It was
clear to the Druid they wanted this place to burn completely
and fast.
Arawn removes his cloak and begins to smoother the burning
flames on the man he knocked out nearby. He looks up to see
Ben'dar nearby but no other guards in the viewing angle. He
gestures for help and to get the man out as he gets the flames
doused.
Ben'dar places his spear on a crate and lifts the man up
and upon his shoulder. Like most warriors they can carry
a great load a short distance. Ben'dar grabs his spear and
does a fireman carry of the man toward the front big entrance
where the men were standing.
As Ben'dar hauls the man toward the main door he has to dodge
the other dead guards. His path is clear of fire at this point
but it is spreading to the south west area and may get to the
door soon.
Outside Chion exits and runs after the fleeing man. But
Chion has a good 100 pounds on the man. As a result Chion
is fast but even a person that large is slow on long distance
running. The man has a good head's start of 30-40 feet and
will always just be out of reach of Chion.
As the man passes the south west edge of the warehouse he
enters into the alley region. Z'leyra notices the man a good
distance away. Not sure if it is just a passer by or what, she
stares as the man runs west.
Soon Chion comes in view and he tries to throw a dagger
at the man to stop him but the dagger fails to strike. He
glances over and motions for Z'leyra to help join but she
is a couple hundred feet away.
Inside Arawn tries to figure out why the men were trying to
destroy this place. There could be many reasons but the
time to figure that out is quickly becoming critical. He
considers his options. If he does a storm spell it could
douse the outside of the place but it is two story. By
the time the fire gets to the upstairs to be doused by rain
the fire would have destroyed the bottom. Since the warehouse
is huge he knows any spell would require a great area effect
as the spider web of oil and fire spread is too large an area.
Ben'dar hauls the man outside and has to let him down outside
the door on the street. He glances into the building white
smoke and wonders where the druid is.
Inside Arawn scans the crates and the half dozen or so coffins.
There must be a couple hundred wooden crates. While most will
not explode they will burn in time. But he has no idea what
is inside them. For all he knows they could be empty. As he
scans the north west corner he notices a line of fire suddenly
lurch up the wall and another lurches up a small set of wooden
steps. That means the second story will soon be on fire as well.
Arawn knows this will soon bring some attention if not from
neighbors but from the city. He sees the south catch more on
fire from a coffin now in full blaze. The thing must've been
full of rags and oil. Arawn covers his eyes with his arm and
begins to move toward the front entrance.
Soon the man and Chion is not seen by Z'leyra as they both
head past the next warehouse out of sight.
Z'leyra notices Ben'dar coming around the corner to see where
Chion might be and notices Z'leyra. He waves for her to come
forward and not to just stand there.
Arawn finally makes it to the large wagon sized front door
and exits onto the street. He glances to see if anyone is
around but so far so good. He takes a look around the side
to the east side of the building to see if smoke is coming
out but finds non so far. It is only coming out of the west
end and front door so far. It could be a few more minutes
before massive smoke draws attention.
After a minute Chion rounds the corner of the west warehouse
next to this one. He is walking though a bit fast. Finally
he arrives in the front with the others. "He got away. I
couldn't catch up. He rounded a corner and climbed onto a
farmer sled and hitched a ride. Yeah. I could've caught
up but the farmer might've noticed a sudden heavy load added
to his sled."
Arawn listens to the large sailor breathing heavy. He could've
used his teleport powers or even magic but knows it could've been
even more a risk drawing attention.
Arawn glances inside the warehouse to the gray-white smoke and
then back at the man on the ground.
Chion glances to the Alfar. "Now what? We have no horses.
If we take this man we'll have to do it on isolated streets."
Glass is heard breaking on the east side as a window breaks
from the east wall. Smoke begins to bellow out from that
location now.
[Time: 4:17pm]

[Time: 4:21pm]
Arawn, Farseeker, Kiet and Unali ride back to the inn and
do not get as many stares as one might expect. This side of
town appears to expect richer folks.
Actions? Comments?
Next Update...Friday...
GM: Task groups:
Baron House - Zhou, Unali, Farseeker, Kiet
Investigate - Arawn, Ben'dar, Chion, Z'leyra
Watch deaths- Fremea, Kell, Raban, Will
Stay wagon - Strie'bog, Caladan,
GM: I can't move the square group to the Inn. Seems Kell has
made interest in chasing down the woman. Kell how do you
wish to go about this? Finding one Katai girl out of a
few thousand in the city? If you go back to the shop you'd
need a good plan as most upstairs in shops are resident
areas and off limits unless family. Fremea and Raban has
placed interest in going back but Kell and Will has not.
So I can't move the group until this situation is resolved.
GM: Arawn I got your email. Now what? The warehouse is a couple
hundred feet wide so you'd need magic or something to cover
that area if you intend to stop the fire. Let me know what
you decide. Then what to do with the man as you walk the
streets. How long you staying there? Others in the group
can comment as well but not heard from Ben'dar in ages. :<
GM: A short update. Can't move forward much without the reply
to things above. If half the square group go search for the
girl that'll take time. If the warehouse folks stay and
do things that'll take time as well. So can't move the
group to the inn till these are resolved. I'm off thursday
so may work on the next update if get the answers above Wed
night or early Thursday. We'll see how things go.
