[Recap]
From Z'leyra: [Re: Actions]
Not hearing the request for her mirror, Z'leyra is already
most of the way across the open area with Ben'dar, both
invisible, guiding him with her left hand. She tells Ben'dar
that they should both attack the same Vong from behind on the
count of three from when she taps one, two, three on his foot
with her foot. To keep the magic going he should keep in touch
with her at all times, at least until the spell wears off.
She speaks low to Ben'dar "We will leave those in the ...
She leads them into the first bowl home and around behind
any Vong inside.
GM: Ack.
From Kiet: [Re: Actions]
Kiet looks over to his friend and smiles at Kell. "How's...
Kiet will head to the treasure room if we don't all head out
soon. Definitely want to check the contents of the barrels...
why would the Vong keep/bring them? Maybe there's something
in one of them besides liquid? There's no real reason to keep
the stuff in the barrels...so maybe dump it out ifno one
objects?
-----
Kiet will be pleased to tell everybody else what he has
'seen'.
GM: Ack.
From Kell: [Re: Actions]
[Thanks for the update. Now that's a lot to digest and go
around. Man....]
Returning from scouting Ha'Kell wonders aloud, "Where are...
[Once chaos descends, Kell wants to form a group to find
either the world brain or the portal. Or both. Use the
chaos as a distraction since stealth is likely gone.
Scott, I know this isn't much but hopefully it's enough to
give something.]
GM: Ack. Just one problem. Did you go scouting? :) I know you
had plan to dig via elemental but never did say if you were
going to do it or not - especially after I mentioned would
need time and equipment to hold the tunnel. It was Kiet's
magic that did the recon.

[New Stuff]
[Augado 10th, 1634TH]
[Location: Middle Katai Plains]
[ Mountains west of Pamau]
[Time: 2:24:10 pm]
Kiet loses the mental vision of his spell sphere and turns
to the others.
Kiet looks over to his friend and smiles at Kell. "How's
that?" he says, clearly proud of his accomplishment. "It's an
especially useful tool when one must snoop. I used it on the
flying castle once to good effect." Kiet knows that direct
magic use against these Vong is dangerous, but obtuse stuff
like this is what Kiet trained for. It suits his nature. Kiet
is also very happy to get to use his magic... especially since
he feels inadequate to the task of fighting...unless the Vong
are trussed up like a holiday dinner bird.
Inside the inner cave Z'leyra is tired of waiting with no
action and no takers on her offer to go invisible. But
Ben'dar who will follow her, is eager to move on.
She speaks low to Ben'dar "We will leave those in the towers
to those with offensive magics. We will clear those bowl type
buildings one at a time. Wait for my signal and stay in touch
so that the spell doesn't end early."
Z'leyra casts quickly her orient self and invisibility spells.
Then Z'leyra grabs Ben'dar and heads to the side tunnel that
leads to the hole to the main cavern. At the same time, Kiet
is leading Kell and Farseeker toward the inner tunnel.
Z'leyra can hear Kiet talking to Kell about what he found but
she decides not to stick around to wait for the report. It
sounded like the bowl structures could be homes. But the acrobat
left around the bend to join the others.
Kell can feel a light breeze pass him and figures it just the
wind but would soon realize it was Z'leyra and Ben'dar.
Back in the inner tunnel with the others, Kiet organizes his
thoughts on the report to be given.
At the hole now, Z'leyra and Ben'dar stop. Z'leyra tells him
she will cast another spell on both to help them move fast. She
then casts speed upon herself and onto ben'dar. A few seconds
later both climb the dirt incline leading up to the ground floor
of the large cavern. Taking a couple of seconds they scan the
large cavern that could fit a small mountain which the cavern
is essentially. Both can see the ceiling about 800 feet or so
above them. To the left are the bowl structures. To the right
are the obvious landing field for the flyers. Z'leyra yanks
Ben'dar's hand and runs fast toward the bowl structures.
Caladan looks back after inspecting the A'equin and realizes
that Z'leyra is gone. He heard Ben'dar give a light growl that
usually means he is about to go into battle. But doesn't seem to
see him or Z'leyra. He looks around giving his worry a voice,
"where is Z'leyra and Ben'dar?"
Kell was about to talk about the sphere to Kiet but realizes
quickly that two are missing from the group. "Where are Z and
Ben'dar?"
Raban shrugs, "she mentioned going invisible and heading
out..."
Kell can't believe how calm the Bard is. Why didn't he stop
them? But Kell realizes things have just changed toward chaos.
He wonders how the Balance creature will react to this. He quickly
adds, "We need to find the world brain and the portal. If we
can stop those, we stop the invasion.'
Captain Lin looks to the side tunnel where the rabbit hole
is and rushes to it. He notices a bit of gravel and dust drop
from the ramp leading up but sees nothing. He turns to say
loudly to the others, "they've already left!"
The Merkabah listens to this and realizes that some of the
others have already left, decides time is up. "The time is
up! Move or suffer!"
He pulls the reigns tight and orders the two horses forward
toward the small tunnel entrance where Lin is standing. Lin
this time wisely moves away just as the chariot bumps him to
the side of the wall almost missing him by a foot.
Behind the chariot the party quickly realizes what is going
on making some curse that no real plans have been made. But
then again sometimes just doing it on the fly always tends to
work out.
Before Kiet can even give his report, Farseeker speaks up.
"If they left we have to act fast! We'll need to support
them as we can."
[Time: 2:24:32 pm]
Ben'dar and Z'leyra with their new found invisible run toward
the bowl homes. They can see the first ones about 170-180 feet
away. Ben'dar's long hair ripples in the breeze made by his
new found speed it seems he is moving more than twice his normal
speed! As he runs he tries to look around but is concentrating
too much on the forward view. He can see the Vong towers along
the west wall. He can only assume the boots under their feet
must be giving some indication of their movement by dirt or
wisps of dust clouds. But hopefully they will now know what it
is till it is too late. Ben'dar can feel Z'leyra's warm hand
and grins as if some teenage couple is being chased by one
parent as they sneak off. Then for some reason Ben'dar recalls
Pasha and wonders what she is doing now.
Before Ben'dar can consider the cute Pa'vassa girl it takes
only about 6-7 seconds to get to the first bowl structure
crossing the field in only a quick jog.
Ben'dar and Z'leyra quickly study the structure. They
look left and right to see others all identical. The top
of the structure reminds Z'leyra of some ice homes barbarians
make. Probably to let smoke and air through. She guesses
this to be the case. But to Ben'dar he doesn't know what
the thing is before him. The structure resembles a meat
pie placed in a bowl and turned upside down without the bowl.
The texture is rough and blotchy with random things here
and there as if a noodle and meat dish. It looks definitely
Vong like and like the 'doors' seen below. It is clearly
Vong made. If anything the creatures seem to use natural
things rather than waste things like wood and other
resources.
Ben'dar can see other Vong moving about this way and
that. Then the Zen'da warrior is yanked to circle the
structure to see if there is a opening or door. There
is no slits or 'windows' in the Vong structure. But
then Z'leyra notices a small circle that looks more tan
than the others. The color of the structure is mostly
dark reds, oranges and some browns. But this tan thing
seems to be like the structure that opened the door. She
quickly places a hand onto the object and hopes there is
no trap or Vong bug or such. But why would they protect
these things when they feel safe?
The Vong 'door' seems to roll up like a carpet upwards and
over the top of the structure like some monster's tongue. This
allows the two to enter and the 'door' to slide back down toward
the ground from the top of the outside roof. But both find the
small 10 foot in diameter structure to be empty.
Inside the bowl structure there is nothing of great note. There
seems to be a small pallet of some leathery thin material It
almost looks like a possible sleeping mat? There seems to be
a bowl like seen in other places that appear like bone material
or some odd wood. The two bowls are empty but likely used for
eating and drinking. The dirt floor shows sign of recent use
and the smell is a bit odd like body odor and sweat. These
Vong seem to believe in little or nothing to living materials.
But if they just wand them to sleep on the ground why cover
them up? Seems like a extra luxury.
Ben'dar growls at the sight. Z'leyra backs up and rushes to
the next home in line. She tapes the tan spot and opens it
again to reveal yet another empty home. This one seems to
have 3 sleeping 'mats' and an assorted mess of dirty eating
and drinking bowls. Also seems to have a few bones from what
could be animals eating or even people killed. Z'leyra hopes
it wasn't people but they seem to be finger or wing sized
bones nothing large like leg or arm bones for humans.
Fremea sees the new chaos and grins a bit as she realizes
the time is up. When she sees the chariot move she decides
it is time to move. She flies past the others and trails the
chariot up the side tunnel.
[Time: 2:24:45 pm]
The Merkabah's chariot drives up the ramp and into the
large cavern above the tunnel. The supernatural creature
gives a strange noise as he is happy to leave that cramped
tunnel area. To see open sky or rather open cavern that
could easily fill millions of his chariots all flying round.
Fremea glances up to see the magnificent chariot fly
straight up. She laughs at humans who try to use magic to
fly or even use magical items like carpets. But to see the
horses fly and the smooth flight of the chariot makes her
a bit envious that some creature can do it with skill.
Fremea casts a quick invisibility spell upon herself. Lin
can see her down the tunnel so can figure he'll warn the
others of her leaving without notice.
Fremea then leaps to the air with her wings kicking up dust
and debris. She soars over the hole and quickly looks right
and left. She can see the bowl structures and the flyers.
In a bit of rough angle some few hundred feet above her to
the sides are the side caves. But at this angle and distance
she can't tell details. It doesn't take someone as smart
as Kaylle to know the flyers are the biggest threat not only
to the chariot but to the party. If anything if they flee
with some Vong it could cause problems. She quick turns to
the east and flies toward the field of flyers.
[Time: 2:24:51 pm]
Exiting the home both move quickly to the third. As they
do Ben'dar pulls Z'leyra's hands and whispers to her to look
up eastward. There both see the golden chariot under the
reign of the Merkabah high in the sky zooming faster than they
can almost even see. In seconds it seems the chariot goes from
the hole to the ceiling some 800' above their heads. It must
have been only 5-7 seconds! Ben'dar wishes Tef'wo was that
fast! But Z'leyra yanks the barbarian toward the third home.
When they start moving both realize they are moving at normal
speeds.
Z'leyra opens the 3rd home's 'door' and finally sees a single
Vong warrior. It is clear he is a warrior as his armor and
amphistaff are seen. The warrior seems to be sharpening his
coufee dagger on his lap. He looks up to see the door open
but sees nothing.
[Time: 2:24:55 pm]
Fremea reaches the field quickly and can see many of the
Vong maybe a couple dozen scrambling. They seem to be
startled by the sudden appearance of the chariot. She can
see Vong warriors running from the ladders or other spots
to various flyers. There are so many targets to choose
from. She can also see a few Brigaders as they are not
prisoners since they are wearing weapons. Fremea lands
on top of one flyer and casts a new spell.
Fremea smiles and pulls out her first arrow. She draws
back the bow string and fires the non magical. But the
second it leaves the bow the magic of her spell kicks in.
The arrow immediately copies itself into 5 other arrows
for a total of 6 arrows. They all fire at the same general
direction toward the Vong running nearby about 14 feet away.
One arrow fails to hit. But two arrows do severe damage
while the other 3 do simple hits. In total the Vong takes
21 points from the 5 arrows.
Fremea fires another bow and it duplicates again. The
six arrows fly toward the wounded Vong warrior. One misses
again but the others hit. One bounces off his armor but
the other 4 do damage. Enough to kill the Vong.
As others seem to notice the sudden appearance of 6
arrows flying on top of one flyer Fremea takes to the
air and plans for a new target. She aims at another Vong
moving toward one Flyer about 20 feet below her. One
fails to hit. Two arrows do hit but bounce off. But the
other 3 do hit doing a total of 18 points of damage.
Firing again Fremea notices that 4 of the arrows seem
to hit the ground. The warrior is dodging. But two
of the others do hit doing 5 more points only wounding
him further.
[Time: 2:25:10 pm]
In the ten seconds leaving the hole the chariot reached the
ceiling some 800' above the hole in only about 6 seconds. It
does a wide arcing lazy circle as there is plenty of room
some 800 feet or more between the sides. As the Merkabah looks
and heads down in a rough angle he takes the time to scan
the side caves that he passes. But he sees the flying things
the Balanced one spoke of. He orders the horses toward the
field of flyers.
Ben'dar grins and releases Z'leyra's hand in order to grab
the two handed spear. The Vong sees the sudden intruder and
tries to roll to his side.
While Ben'dar, Z'leyra, Fremea and Merkabah are out and about
having fun the others find themselves in a quandary of chaos.
In the span of the last 40 or so seconds since Farseeker
last spoke some voice their view.
Farseeker is eager to join as well, "I'm heading to the east
flyer area. We should split up." He isn't sure where Ben'dar
went left or right. "Some east and some west." It is clear
he could leave any minute. He hopes someone will offer some
spells to go invisible.
Actions? Comments?
Next Update....Monday...
GM: Since folks didn't include direct actions those left
below did nothing. You will need to decide which
side you go to. If no one offers spells then you'll
have to go in the open. I did this update in the span
of 45 seconds (15 phases). I may do the next in that
span of time. Once things get boggy with logistics may
go a lot less. But I did 45 seconds due to the distance
traveled by those who left. Keep in mind you will need
to act in the last 38 seconds of this update to
catch up. Of course you will be in the tunnel. But
if you are to speak or do spells do them in that time
frame and/or the next 45 seconds (so what 1.5 minute?).
If no one posts direct actions you will remain under
ground until actions are done. Some may go ahead and
flee like Farseeker and Caladan without quick action.
I don't mean to push this but once Z'leyra left I have
no choice but to get some support going for them. Even
though they are not known location wise.
Current positions -
Merkabah Chariot - 500' up above hole
Overall map - D21 location roughly
Side View map - G12 (seen on map)
Z'leyra/Ben'dar - inside home with 1 Vong
Overall Map - F11 location.
Fremea - Flying field, 20' above ground
Overall map - roughly E33
Everyone else in tunnel where hole is or tunnel with
entry/treasure cave.
Overall map - F23 roughly under ground
Side view - Y map market coordinate O24
GM: If no action or quick plan made in the next 1.5 minutes
then Raban, Caladan and Farseeker will move out regardless.
It is up to others to decide on their actions. Don't
want to act and send you to wrong area and blame me later. :)
GM: Logistics will be a nightmare for this place. I've come up
with the fleshed data on the numbers. I know where everyone
is in generic terms. On the ground floor though I need
to flesh that data out more. As result I can't say who
is where in terms of Vong yet. I will work on this data
this weekend and can if needed post it or just do it for
next update. Those exploring the homes are now aware of
previous exploration so it all may be repeated.
Z'leyra - Do you have a plan on this exploration? After
the first Vong is dealt with. Spells may end soon
inviso wise. Any particular search pattern? You can
use the map. For example go up to row E then right
to do those. Then up to D and left and so on or
go to Row G. Etc. Let me know. You still have the
others as well to consider and the ladders. Assuming
one can do 10 seconds per home (if combat) you could
do maybe 4-5 homes in the next update if doing just
the homes. Right now no data on who is nearby for
the Vong. I'll work on that this weekend.
Fremea - I did a quick version of the combat. I didn't
go into details of hit locations. I will also work
on what Vong is where EXACTLY this weekend so you can
pick targets. For now you can buzz around if needed.
Will assume in air but if want to hop from flyer to
flyer you can for better target practice. BTW I did
EL0 for the inviso. Forgot to ask in chat the EL.
GM: Minor error on last update. Email lists as File#1367 but
was 1368. Website and actual update itself shows correct one
but not the email header.
GM: Spells active
Z'leyra - Orient Self, Invisibility
Fremea - Invisibility, Multiple Arrow
Will - Armor Transmutation
GM: Mana report not updated on spells used. Should be soon
or by next update. If this is all still confusing let
me know I can explain further. I hope the maps are
detailed enough to understand the 3d aspects.
