[Recap]
From Will: [Re: Actions]
"Thank you... Z'leyra for the loan....
GM: Ack. No time to add to last update since post came in too
late to add to it. Jade will help much as it is with the
100 pounds of weight you'll be -10% MR and with gear that
you carry (125) then it'll be 20%. So 11 to 10 to 9. Not
a major loss but the big deal is falling on your back and
pretending to be a turtle getting back up.
From Will: [Re: Actions]
OOC: So just to clarify the opening just ahead which we
probably will have to go through has a sense of some major
katothi evilness.
GM: Ack. Arawn will have to answer this. But to be more help
it is a general sense no general direction or arrow. So
it could be the hole or the 1000 feet to the top of the
mount just above the hole.

[New Stuff]
[Augado 10th, 1634TH]
[Location: Middle Katai Plains]
[ Mountains west of Pamau]
[Time: 2:12:08 pm]
Unali notices Caladan slightly upset about killing the human.
"Thanks, that was close. This way we have some time to regroup
and check our surroundings."
Caladan nods in grim silence but knows to kill a person like
this is against his personal style. But there was little
choice. If he had pulled the alarm with his voice the stealth
of the party would've ended.
To one side of the cave, Z'leyra and Will are acting like
some Dark Lander conspirators. Z'leyra gives Will a stone
that is clearly looking like jade from the color.
"Thank you... Z'leyra for the loan....While this is good
exercise... and normally I would rather do it myself... I
would hate to offend you by refusing your offer. "
Moments earlier, Unali gave the go ahead for Arawn to
test the psychic waters if you will. "See what you can sense
about the next cave, but quickly. Otherwise someone should
have a look. And if there is a Serpent there, or something
related, it better had to be a human and not a fey who does
the looking. There are beasts around that can >smell you or
Fremea at quite a distance."
Arawn nods his head, showing his compliance to Unali's
suggestions. Unsure as to how, exactly, the coin works he
opted to save that for last, directing his attention to the
opening lying ahead of the party.
"I'm not sure if I'll be able to pull anything but I'll do
what I can." Arawn grabs his gear and heads down the tunnel.
Arawn then concentrated, closing his eyes as he allowed himself
to relax in an effort to open himself up to the sensations around
him, in particular the disturbing presence he felt ahead. He
tried to sense where the presence was strongest, allowing
himself to be pulled there as he sought to discover the
direction in which it lay at the same time hoping he might
gain some further insight.
But the results are anything but confident to his prayer
requests. But his senses might be the best in the group
but even his ability is novice to what he is feeling. He
does know it is just here and here but not in one particular
place. It is everywhere but not in any particular area. To
Arawn this seems to indicate it is a wide area affect as if
some spell was flood into a room showing corruption to a
death dealer's magic shop. This is somewhat better to know
that is something wide rather than pinpointed. So that could
be a thing rather than a being. But the fine details are just
missing without further investigation. Can walk in a forest
and sense eyes looking at you. But if you don't look around
to find the source can't learn more.
Arawn walked back into the tunnel when he found the extent
of the odd sense's range. He gets near Unali who is carefully
studying the area and the group. Arawn can tell she doesn't
want to go far.
Arawn pulls out the magic coin, rolling it in his fingers a
bit as he thought over things before stepping up to Unali.
"I'm not sure if it's too late but I might be able to call
on the wizards for help if you think it will be useful."
Unali looks at the shiny coin in the druids hands from
the shadows of the cave. "If this is the guard they post on
inside hallways, basically guarding nothing, then we can use
all the help we need. Even if they show up in time to clear
the last warriors or bring those possessions over there out
in the open, all hands can be used. Use the coin and we will
see what comes of it.
Farseeker hears Unali's soft words while standing in front
of the treasure cave. "Nothing? I am not like Fremea looking
it all over. But from the looks of it could give enough
wealth for 100 villages. For a noble maybe a year's income?"
Inside the treasure cave, Fremea has jaunted inside to explore.
She is eager to find something in particular. She digs through
chests, boxes, crates and barrels. She hurries because she
knows things will change fast. After 3 minutes she comes
across a long locker that looks like a military lockbox. She
opens it and finds a small quiver that is distinctively Faerry
made. Inside are an assorted of Faerry sized arrows.
Near Z'leyra, Raban stands near Will. The giant looks down
to Will like a mother looks down at a chubby kid in pain. "That
shiny thing might help. I could bless you though and have some
strength added. But it might not be as strong as the jade."
[Time: 2:16:48 pm]
Captain Lin's looks nervous as the others talk among each
other. That Arawn and Unali person, Raban, Will and Z'leyra.
No one seems to working on what to do next. "Folks. We've
been here almost five minutes. Eventually if one comes down
that hall and sees the body. It is all over. Shouldn't
we decide what to do next?"
Arawn takes a moment to hold the coin in his hand, studying
it once again for any marks or symbols that might give a clue as
to how to activate it. He rubs it, flips it, rolls it and focuses
on the image of the man he saved previously in an effort to
activate it.
The coin looked the same in the dim light, it had that same
strange male image on one side. Likely some old lost wizard.
The other side had some beast maybe a chimera on it. It
definitely would be taboo in this Empire as only coins here
are those with the god Emperor's image.
After a first flip nothing happens and Arawn wonders if the
wizard is just tricking him. He can sense magic from the coin
but only after he places it right in front of his face. In
his hand it doesn't show magical sense. This might be a guarded
method to protect the coin from sensory devices or people.
Arawn looks up hearing Lin's warning and knows the situation
more clearly than the human can ever dream about. The Kotothi
sense is still there but he can feel it only as a after thought
now. The annoying side of the warning is being held at bay
by his high mental power.
Arawn decides to send a small ebb of magical energy into the
coin and then tosses it up into the air. The coin seems to
move in slow motion or maybe its just the Alfar's eyes that
are picking up the details of the coin in shadow and light. It
seems to dancer in the air this and that way as if falling from
a high mountain. Suddenly what seems like hours but is only
a half second later the coin seems to shine brighter in the dim
light. It begins to vibrate or shimmer as if in a tremor while
white sparkles dance around it.
Arawn's heart pounds as if something clearly is starting to
happen. The coin seems to shimmer in a glowing aura of golden
yellow as if a star were to explode in some wave of energy.
The coin seems to hover defying the laws of gravity for a
few seconds Then just above the coin a couple of inches a
face of a man and his shoulders appear. It looks like the
man on the coin. He is Katai obviously with a long white
gray beard down to his upper shoulder. He is mostly bold but
looks like to be 60 or 70.
Arawn figures the man to be illusion and hopes Z'leyra's
stone doesn't stop it. The fist sized face speaks, "your
immediate help will soon arrive. We will contact your
other help and they will decide to help or not. Who is
the one to summon the help?"
Without thought or shock, Arawn speaks his name but then
realized did he give his alias or his name to the wizard?
Before he can correct this remark the face speaks again.
"Image and name will be sent. Secondary help may be delayed
or denied."
The face then dissolves and the coin finally stops hovering
and falls toward Arawn's palm. But a inch from the hand,
the coin also dissolves as if snatched by some street thief.
Arawn looks down to ensure it didn't just fall to the dirt
but finds it gone. He realizes the coin must be a one use
thing.
Arawn raises an eye and doesn't know how long this help
might take. Captain Lin nervous about the whole deal steps
into the center of the tunnel and waves a hand. "That thing
won't help us. We need robust fighters that can-"
Suddenly the noise of horse neighs can be heard. The
party looks up and down the tunnel. Where could horses
be in this place? Why would the Vong use horses?
Lin is knocked to the ground by what appears to be
a golden colored chariot! Lin is knocked to the ground
as those around him shuffle to get out of the way.
Those not dodging the sudden threat notice there are
two white colored but almost ghostly horses that appear
to be even larger than Tef'wo. The two 'horses' are tied
to this golden chariot. Inside the chariot a 9 foot tall
bull headed being growls when his head hits the ceiling.
The being is wearing a sword on his hip and on his back
is a shiny looking composite bow with arrows.
The being readjusts his footing in the chariot and looks
around. He eyes the party as if sizing up a threat. When
he eyes Caladan he seems to stop there for three times as
long as he does the others. When he sees Will he growls and
places a hand on his sword hilt. But then he looks to find
Arawn. "You summon me for what purpose!"
Arawn's jaw drops in a sudden loss of words. He knows what
he is looking at. He has seen these in the Balance Marshes.
Two A'Equin and their Merkabah master.
The startled Lin draws his sword and begins to move toward
the A'equin.

Next Update....Monday...
GM: Some of the info in the emails had no 'private' or such
note so included it here for flair only. Since the area
is tight and even whispers can be heard there is not much
to hide in terms of the situation.
GM: A plan has to be formed as to what to do next and who is
the one. I can't move along without that. Though as npcs
they can probably throw troll dung into the mix to make
things worse. But then the coin was tossed and fate has
moved things this way. :)
GM: If need a new word picture or map of the tunnel/hole
let me know but it should be easy to figure out. I hate
football. But the dwarves are hoping their team wins. You
better as well since if not they might make life tough
in the end for you guys. Then might have to feed them
root beer floats for the next 3 months.
