Z'leyra states "I can only cast Mind Shield on those that I first 
contact with Mind Sending. For those that agree I will make a minimal 
Mind Sending to contact their minds then cast Mind Shield on them."

She knows that she will have to keep enough mana in reserve to cast the 
spells against the portal, so that will limit her Mind Sendings to EL0 
and may limit the EL of her Mind Shields cast.
