[Recap]
Post from Z'leyra: [Re: Claims]
Z'leyra is only interested in the meteorite and the
enhanceable gemstones. She speaks up "I would like to ....
GM: Ack.
From Arawn: [Re: Actions]
"I understand and wish I could see you safely there but ....
Later on he spoke with Fremea about his concerns for their
safety.
"Will you see them to the forest edge? If so I would ....
OOC:
Not sure if a Ceremony/Blessing is needed but Arawn would like
to say a prayer/perform a blessing on the faerries for a safe
journey home. He'd also perform a ceremony (as time and location
permits) on the dead faerry.
He'll also equip them with his spare Elf Bow, Elf Shot and
arrows if they can use it. In addition he'll pass on his water
skin and his rations to the group (he'll purchase more from the
inn if his supplies are short). Lastly, in case their captured
again he'll give them his Enhanced Moonwort, informing them of
the leaves ability to shatter locks. If there's anything else
they need he'll ask them to not hesitate to mention it.
As for the dead, if the other faerry are willing and think it
will help Arawn can Transmute him into a small, portable form
(small statuette or a stone for example) for their journey.
However if the party stays in town and Arawn can make it to the
forest and back by horseback within a few hours he'll carry the
faerry on his steed and perform the rites within the forest.
At the Inn:
"It seems there's much for us to do before meeting ....
OOC: How close our we to the next full moon?
Healing Mist:
Arawn will offer a group Healing Mist to the faerries and
any in the party that are in need.
Raban:
Arawn will cast Healing Mist to restore Energy Levels to
affect a group so that the druid, Raban and anyone else in
need can be restored.
Items:
Arawn will use Mana Sensing on the treasure, scrolls and
the ape collars. He'll follow through with Mana Reading if
anything detects as magical.
Afterwards he'll point out the collar and ask Fremea, "What
would you like me to try and discover?"
GM: Ack. Blessing is for stats really so doing so on a dead
person who has no stats, waste. The bless could be done
for each person but would need mana per person. Ceremony
needs altar and materials it seems. You can basic prayers
and such without magic. That will do more than magic
owould in some ways. But let me know either way. Removed
Wort, Bow, 5 Arrows, only skin off sheet. As to carrying
the dead they will do it. They did this far. He is not
heavy and they wish him with them. Middle world tends to
have erratic moon cycles. Depending on the land and time
of year. It may have been the effect of the God Wars on
the skies and such. But it is likely not for 5-7 days.
As to all the plans you guys will have to remind me if
I miss something. Players will have to volunteer for healing.
From Arawn: [Re: Actions]
"I would donate my share to aid the faerries and the ...
When it became clear that the finest stones would remain
with the party he eyed the meteorite but upon hearing of
Z'leyra's interest graciously passed on it. His eyes then
fell upon the tourmaline.
"My people arose long before the sun's creation and ...
GM: Ack.
From Unali: [Re: Actions]
Unali sees the Toadstone among the gemstones found and
speaks to the group and Z'leyra: "I would prefer the toad's
stone if I may and if you could bring out its protective powers
I would be much obliged. Although as the little Marschal resorts
to magic instead of poison it may be of little use."
She will accept a share of the coins as well.
GM: Ack.
From Kiet: [Re: Actions]
Kiet recounts to the others his experience with Bogun, ...
"I also have a strong interest in that tourmaline, along ...
GM: Hard to quantify the picks so I just selected all you
mentioned. You guys can then haggle over the final results.
Since no claim on diamond didn't add it to list.
From Fremea: [Re: Actions]
After Fremea talks to the other Faeries, she comes down to the
tavern and tells her tale of Varange and the two weeks she has
to deliver the other piece.
After the loot is counted and the gems are shown, even she
wide eyes them a little. She had seen some of these on the
royals before, but never in such quantity. She regained her...
Hearing Kiet on the gems, "that is fine too, we can also...
GM: Ack. Is there something in particular to tell the other
Fae in private? As to the 3rd piece. Just to clarify.
Varange knows where it is. But he needs you to help
him in the capital to do so. This is why he wants you
there in two weeks.
From Z'leyra: [Re: Actions]
<forgot this part>
"Since Z'lerya is best at enhancement, I ask her to take
care of all of these."
GM: Ack. Keep in mind my new (old) rule on enhancements. You
learn limited forms. See the website for that rule I
believe it is still there.
From Kiet: [Re: Actions]
"Yes" says Kiet. "I have issues. Those two jewels ...
GM: Ack. I know your only in character. Just keep in mind these
things are never worth the effort at times.

From Z'leyra: [Re: Actions]
To Enhance each of the gems Z'leyra will first cast a
divination then cast Purification for the Enhancement before
using her spell chain and staff to cast a max EL Enhancement on
the gem. After she will check if it worked and smile if it
worked.
GM: Ack. Assuming have all the rites. :) May have to remind
me on this as it may be a while they are done.
From Fremea: [Re: Actions]
Fremea can cast Luck to help at max EL on Z'leyra.

[New Stuff]
[Sepes 29th, 1634TH]
[Location: City of Samma, Donara]
Before everyone visits inside Arawn speaks to the Faerry.
"I understand and wish I could see you safely there but for
the urgency and heaviness of our quest which presses upon me,"
Arawn replied at Qor's dismissal. "However I would see you
healed, equipped and blessed for your journey. I would also
perform a brief and quiet rite for the deceased before he finds
final rest beneath the forests leaves. And one day I hope to
visit and see all of you again, safe and at peace within the
Wild Forest."
Qor looks to Arawn then toward the west to the Wild Forest
which can't be seen. "Thank you. But we are only with minor
injuries. It is a waste of your magic and you, I suspect will
need it in the days to come. Even one as great as yourself has
their limits. We will accept basic field aid. To prevent
infections. But we are eager to leave. We only a few miles from
the forest and once there will be totally safe. Even the slavers
are afraid to visit there at night and in day they don't venture
far. As to food we can survive on the land till we reach our
villages. We could use some water." He looks to the others then
the dead faerry. "As to him you are welcome to give your
blessing. He...we would be honored." He looks back to the
others holding some claimed weapons from the dead guards
including the sword and a few daggers. "We have weapons as well
now."
Arawn knows the Fae are in shock from the night's events. So
he pulls his bags to the grounds and digs through it. He
pulls out his skin. He shakes it find it, almost full. He
hands it to Qor. He left his spare skins back in Marentia.
He finds his spear elven bow and hands it to the Qor. He
looks it over and says something but stops.
"I am a craftsman not ...one of those warriors." He
looks to the others and nods. "But it can be used by
others. I will accept since it is a spare." he looks
to the quiver. "Only 5 normal arrows. It will not take
us long to get home so we won't use it much."
Arawn offers his ratios but the Fae shake their heads.
It is clear human food they do not abide. When Arawn presents
his moonwort Qor becomes visibly shaken. "This...these two
leaves...I can't accept you may need it."
But Arawn continues to urge the leader. Finally Qor
relents. He bows to the Alfar. "Fine. Thank you."
One of the female Fae looks to Qor and urges a silent warning.
Qor nods and turns back to Arawn. "Again we are appreciative of
our rescue. The thief had ground that blocked our magic. We
were almost at the point.... of utter desperation. Please tell
the other one our thanks. He seemed more interested in those
bags then us once he got here."
Arawn watches the Faerry fly to the roof of the Inn with their
dead companion. Arawn sees Fremea talking to Kell briefly and
comes over to Arawn. She also watches the Faerry fly to the roof.
Arawn asks the still simmering Fae, "Will you see them to the
forest edge? If so I would join if I can find a worthy steed."
Arawn wonders if the Fae will even accept their escort. They
seem so independent. It may have been the bondage but they seem
so damaged. Arawn is smart enough they'll fly high just to
avoid the humans.
---------------
[Time: 2:53:21 am - Samma city, Donara]
Kiet recounts to the others his experience with Bogun, the
warehouse, freeing the faeries, and the pursuit of Ozon. Kiet
goes into some detail about the latter, probably boring some of
his friends, but Kiet is especially proud of ending that cur's
vile life.
Arawn watches Kiet count the coins and shakes his head. It has
been a long night. He can tell the party needs some basic rest.
"It seems there's much for us to do before meeting Varange,"
Arawn said after hearing of the others adventure. "Luckily we
have two weeks before meeting our engagement with Varange."
"The connection Varange has with Fremea is a challenge and I
think pursuing the Moon Gort formula would be prudent. I know
a bit of lore surrounding the plant and we could use some help
locating it. It can only be found under a full moon, a light
shining from it into the night sky.
Perhaps the faerry may have spotted such a thing in the forest
or can help us to locate it. And perhaps Z'leyra or myself
could speak with the local herbalists and foresters for leads.
Otherwise I may be able to glean such information from the
forest itself once I'm ensconced within."
Raban considers these things then frowns. "A person doing
bad things needs to hide. A person doing good things may want
to be invisible to avoid the light. Why seek this item out?
Fremea can use this against Varange. If we know he can somehow
link to her then why not use this info to guide to where we
want him? Also if there is a link with her why not with him?
Maybe she can find this link and find him?"
Even Kiet seems to stop counting the coins as he considers
the thoughts to themselves.
Arawn continues, "I would also like to discover more of the
slavers, starting with this 'Mavac'. He was seen wearing a city
guard uniform so it will help to narrow down the search for any
interested.
And as there's more to this than the An's'alum as we're also
here to find Fremea's family. I've been looking over Bogan's
scrolls and aside from his belongings - treasure for us or
evidence for any scrupulous justiciar depending - there has
been mention of a painting being delivered to an address that
should warrant investigation."
"And on a personal level, I would like to meet Jordi before
our missions drive us apart."
Kell looks to Arawn, "slavery is a common thing in this
world. If we even find this man and stop him there might
just be more to take his place. It is a noble thing to
stop this man but it may be futile."
"No." Raban grins, "but it will be fun."
The group starts their discussion on the items and the
fighting begins.
Z'leyra speaks first, "I would like to have the meteorite,
failing that I would take my share in enhanceable gemstones. If
I get the meteorite I offer to enhance the gemstones for whoever
ends up with them. Note that enhancement is NOT always
guaranteed. However I think I may have the best chance of
success of any of us here."
Arawn eyes the stack of coins, "I would donate my share to aid
the faerries and the young girls who were sent to the farmer."
Arawn gave Etain a look of approval but upon noting the Eelf's
disappointment as the gold slipped through his fingers said,
"It is a good thing you do. And a honorable one. Worry not
over these coins for such and much more beyond mere gold will
find their way into your life in time, so I believe."
Etain scoffs and grunts, "A good thing will only give you
a simple box to sleep the eternal sleep in. At this point
I won't even afford my own cremation." He eyes the coins
and then back at Arawn more serious. "A Elf does not believe
in taints. This money," he waves a hand at the coins, "is
surely tainted by suffering and death. I may have done bad
things." He glances briefly at Fremea then back at Arawn.
"But this just is a bad path."
Arawn considers his choice of items, "My people arose long
before the sun's creation and it's light can be harsh upon those
who dance beneath the moon. As such I would proclaim my interest
in the tourmaline for a darkness hides within its heart, helping
to shield me from the harshest of lights."
Etain snickers ever so slightly and leans next to Kell and
whispers. "So poetic."
Unali sees the Toadstone among the gemstones found and speaks
to the group and Z'leyra. "I would prefer the toad's stone if I
may and if you could bring out its protective powers I would be
much obliged. Although as the little Marshal resorts to magic
instead of poison it may be of little use."
Kiet hadn't had any time to look through the loot taken from
Bogan or Ozon. When the money was counted it was quite
impressive. Kiet could have easily retired not that amount
alone. He thinks briefly about what it would have meant should
he have given in to his weaker impulses. Probably for the best
this way anyway. When the jewels were poured out, he simply
could not believe what he was seeing! His eyes nearly bugged
out at the smaller ones but his jaw dropped over some of the
large jewels.
He does a quick evaluation of the larger, enhancible items and
says, "Each of those large rubies, emerald and diamond might be
valuable enough as a single share or more all by themselves...
but enhanced? Easily 5 times a 'share'. Each one is probably
worth the total of the other five jewels combined."
"I also have a strong interest in that tourmaline, along with
the sapphire. I would be willing to forego maybe 1/4 of my coin
share for them. That meteorite also holds some interest, though
not quite as much. It fits in well with my goal to protect
myself from the depredations of the other alignments. Perhaps
chipping in a total 1/3 of my coin share for all three."
"That diamond is simply fabulous."
"I strongly suggest this treasure not be sold here...many of
these stones are quite unique and anybody looking for revenge
might be able to track us down by them."
Kell nods, "he is correct. Gem dealers would be willing to
sell such info quite easily."
Raban smiles, "the diamond is nice. There was one that was
huge right between the best se.." He realizes he is in mixed
company of the females and stops. "Well...worn nicely."
After the loot is counted and the gems are shown, even she
wide eyes them a little. She had seen some of these on the royals
before, but never in such quantity. She regained her composure,
"These gems will be a huge boost to us. I want the Tourmaline
to go to one of the humans. Unali can take the Toadstone. Kiet
can take the Sapphire. Raban should take one of the Turquoise.
Kell can take the Emerald. Will can take the other Turquoise. I
would like to have the Diamond and a Ruby. The other Ruby can
go to Arawn if he chooses to take it. I have no idea what the
meteorite is about, only that I see magic in it, it seems to me
that Z'leyra would be the best person here to have it. As for
my share of the gold, I will give 10 gold to the Fae, but
the rest will be going home to my children's house." Looking
around the table, "if anyone has issues with this speak up
quickly."
The group looks to Fremea with stunned silence. She was
voted leader. Technically her say has the weight of a leader
who knows what to do. But some realize this isn't quite how
it usually is done. Some take it as polite suggestions but
others see it as a possible threat to their share.
Hearing Kiet on the gems, "that is fine too, we can also use
them as payment for other things as we go along. Easier to
convert if needed."
Though final decisions are not made, Fremea decides to move
things along.
Once the loot is all done, "though I have two weeks to attain
the third piece, there is the matter of a few other individuals
that need to be taken out first. One of those being the slavers
of my kind, and I would like to pay a personal visit to the
slaver that held me here. He taught me some lessons that I would
like to thank him for." Her mouth forms what could be considered
a smile, but more like was a snarl. "It also seems that Raban was
hurt more by that mage than we all like and he could use more
tender healing," looking at Z with just a slight bit of a smirk,
"and I could use a little bit too, though I will take care of it.
But, that mage must also be found. We do not need to be
surprised again."
Thinking about how to best proceed, "I say we rest tonight,
with lookouts though. Arawn and I will find this Moon Gort,
while we move to find more of the slavers and end this now. For
those that are not 'friends of the Sidh', you will be by doing
this. I make a promise to you.
When the tasks are completed, I will find where this other
piece is and we will move to get it. We will use Teleport to
get there faster, I do not plan to waste any more time than is
needed. I am guessing it will be dangerous, since Varange does
not want to move on it himself. And since he has tipped his
hand to us, we will not pay him any more favors. I will get my
parents back and he will suffer. If I have to take on the role
of the chosen one, then I will be that and stop this annoyance,
so I can just be an ordinary Fae."
Some in the party grin at the excitement created by Fremea.
A good leader can motivate yet endorse individual freedom.
Raban smiles, "you my dear are NO ordinary fae." He winks
at the small fae in the chair.
Fremea recalls Z'leyra's skills and adds in, "Since Z'leyra is
best at enhancement, I ask her to take care of all of these."
Kiet counts to himself to relieve some of the thoughts in
his head then responds to Fremea.
"Yes," says Kiet. "I have issues. Those two jewels you have
chosen for yourself are worth a large percentage of the value of
what we have here. That diamond alone could be worth over 200
gold if enhanced! I recommend that any claims of ownership wait
until we can get a better idea of what all of this is worth and
then decide shares... including to all of these potential magic
items. In fact, I demand it!"
"I don't care if they are enhanced and used...I do care that
they be so cavalierly claimed."
A new silence settles among the group. Unali sighs ever so
slightly recalling the Bertam situation so long ago.
Fremea looks at Kiet with a grimace on her face. "Do you mean
to tell me that my family and the lives of millions are worth
less than some gems that are worth gold? I do not claim these
to keep, I claim these to use for the up coming battle. If you
want gold, then take more than your share of what we got, or
better yet, take as many of the non useful gems as you want. I
do not care for the gold. I care to resolve this issue. I will
happily give the gems up when this is done, or I am dead. Either
way, I am using these gems to stop my family," looking directly
at Kiet, "from dying. As for the other gems, I choose what ones
would be good to give to the others to use. Again, to make sure
we don't fail at this. But, if you so care more about gold, then
take anything you want. I will not stop you."
Fremea stands and moves away. She turns away, her anger about
to boil to her face.
Kiet counts the gems in front of him up to 12 to get some
of his anger in check then replies. "Be angry all you wish,
but you miss the point...even though you answer part of it! I
just ask that all of these enhancible jewels be made available
and fairly valued after we finish this quest and then determine
shares. I doubt our expenses will be great compared to what
coins we have here. But let us wait to permanently divide it
until we finish. If you want to give away your coin shares,
that's fine! But just give these poor unfortunate ones part of
what you wish to give them now, and send more to them later."
"Besides," he says with thin smile and dangerous twinkle in
his eye "You did ask."
Fremea turns around to glare at Kiet.
Kiet just gets under her skin. He doesn't really know her or
for that matter care for her. "Angry all I wish, don't you worry,
I have secret, I'm always angry."
Looking around the table, "Anyone else not liking that I want
to get my parents back safe or to get this stupid device to stop
our nations from being destroyed, once again?"
She waits, "Good, then lets come up with a plan to destroy the
slaver ring here and get more gold." Looking at Kiet once again
when she says the word and smiling in that somehow unsettling
way that says to drop it or to drop dead.
Raban and Kell glance at each other.
Kell speaks lightly, "gems are nice but gold can buy what one
needs for gems. So gold is fine for me."
Raban nods, "I give gems to women. I tend not to take them
for myself. As long as I can sing and ...show my face." He
smiles broadly. "I can get coin to live on." To most it would
be arrogant to say such things but he does get the eye
of the females everywhere he goes.
Kell adds another thing, "value of gems are all relative.
A gem dealer might see a ruby as X but a dealer in a larger
city who imports rubies would see it as much less. A wizard
might see it as a great value and be prices. So doing this
value later is not all wise as who decides where this is done?
Donara is closer to the mountains where more gems come so
value of gems are likely less here. Go to Clima and its probably
more valuable. Go to Marentia where its a major trade center
it might just be average price."
Will says, "just a bunch of rocks," as he looks over them
"still its a good plan to wait" then he takes a dagger and cuts
a piece of paper from his drawing pad on which he had been
drawing something.
As the discussion surrounding the gems continued Arawn stood
back in silent observation. His empathic talents picked up on
the shift in the room before the darting of words and as it
soured he finally stepped in.
"Peace. This is nothing more than miscommunication and
misunderstanding. Let's leave them behind. We're companions
working towards the same goals," he said, diplomatically trying
to ease the tension.
"I'm fine with a temporary distribution for now. We'll
likely discover other valuables before our quest is done. Then
we can worry about a more even and permanent distribution of
wealth. And in the meanwhile, when time permits, I can work on
cutting and polishing some of the other gemstones before their
final sale."
"Any objections or suggestions?," he asked, turning to the
others.
Raban may not be the smartest in the group but he also knows
human nature. He sits back making the chair creak under his
weight almost breaking. He crosses his massive arms on his
chest. "This is exactly what Ozon and Bogan would want. If we
can't agree then we fight among each other. They win. Don't
let that happen." He looks to the gems. "Not for something as
common and those."
Arawn decides to bring the topic of tasks back up to relive
the tension.
"After Z'leyra has tended to Raban's physical wounds I'll see
to his essence. His spirit, his life-force has been seriously
damaged but luckily I have some skill in dealing with this," he
said with an almost mirthful expression.
"While others track down the slavers I'll work with Fremea
to locate the Moon Gort. But I would suggest a subtle approach,
at least at first. The slaver ring seems to have a wide arc and
it would be good to pull all the information we can if we're to
end it and start a network to locate and free the slaves. We
can't afford to lose this information - the dead rarely speak
and torched papers offer us no insight."
"In addition, there's the issue of this," he said, rolling out
the scrolls formerly in Bogan's possession.
Arawn allowed them to look over them in detail but made it a
point to draw their attention to the address where a painting
had just recently been sent.
"Perhaps it's nothing but considering the significance of the
Gorlic paintings it might be worth a quick look. If it is a
Gorlic then the address might even be one linked to Varange."
"Beyond that we have the issue of Varange.
"Fremea, I hate to say it but I expect Varange to hold your
parents hostage. When we finally meet him and his forces you'll
need to be prepared for this. I don't want you to lose them so I
think it might be wise to consider preparing a plan to deal with
this situation should it arise."
An odd look came into his eye and he glanced over towards
Etain before addressing the others.
"A few of you have worked with Varange in the past. What can
you share about him?"
Kell looks to Z'leyra and briefly at Unali. They seem less
surprised by the mention of Varange. They must've had dealings
with him in the past.
Etain looks to Arawn then nods. But he then looks to Fremea.
"Faerry do not kill other Faerry. This is the sacred law I
learned when I first started with your people. I assume it
was the order of the Royals but if it was the gods above them
then you are in a tight spot."
Etain drinks the ale he "obtained" from the bar while the
others debated over the gems. "Varange has always been a wild
and arrogant sort. Even early on before adult hood. He was
pressed upon by his father to lead. He was the youngest Lord
Marshall ever. I believe he obtained that at 17 or around that
age in human terms. In Avalon we stayed clear of each other.
He was too arrogant to notice a simple teacher like myself.
They say he is a natural magical with great powers not even
tapped to his full strength. The Royals saw his potential
or rather he showed himself. He is very ambitious and goes
for what he wants and usuually gets it." He glances to Fremea
with some soft grimace. Then back to the group. "We all have
our loves or at least what we dear much. I believe a person
who has such will be guided to the right path. But Varange
never had such. His father was emotionless and he never had
a true friend in Avalon."
"I do believe that he feels he is doing what is right for
the Sidh culture in particular the Faerry. I do think he
feels like for the humans. but I suspect he feels he is
doing the right thing not on a personal agenda."
Arawn recalls the faerry on the roof. "Fremea, perhaps you
should speak with the faerries to see if they're familiar with
Moon Gort?"
Raban yawns and listens to the group argue over the merits
of keeping or selling the gems. He decides to change the
subject. "So we have four basic tasks tomorrow...err today.
Find Fremea's slaver, find the town slaver guy, find the
moon thing and research the Bogan scrolls. I suggest two
or three people teams to speed things up. Once they find
the military center bodies the authorities will be busy
looking for who did it. So the sooner we leave town the
better."
"If I may I suggest Fremea and myself find the slug who
enslaved her years ago. Pay him a friendly visit for
old time's sake. Kell and Unali who have the best slick
tongue and intrigue skills can find the guard who may be
part of the town ring. Arawn and Will can search the
shops and markets for the moon thing. Since Kiet dealt
with Bogan he and Z'leyra can deal with the scrolls and
see where they lead along with Etain. Does this all
sound acceptable?"
The party soon discusses the plans and small groups start
to splinter off. One such group is Etain who sits at the
bar looking into his glass. Arawn joins him soon and starts
to check out his heart wound. Fremea did a good job but
he still has some minor injury left. Arawn will have Z'leyra
check him out as well just to get a second opinion.
After everyone was settled in Arawn checked on Etain, making
sure Fremea was at hand. Although magically healed Arawn used
his skill as a Healer to ensure that there was nothing left to
worry over, treating the prizzti with a gentle hand and demeanor.
Only after did he sit beside the elf as he voiced his thoughts
and questions in a detached and non-confrontational manner.
"Etain, it's been clear that you've known more than you've
felt able to share but chose to give you the space to speak in
your own time. But now danger grows as time shortens and would
ask you for open and honest answers.
That politics play an important part in these events is obvious
but I have long wondered at how high up these games reach. My
elder kin, the gods as others call them, they have acted...
oddly in regards to this story. And your actions allude to a
service still being rendered discreetly to another, whether
individual or group. But it would appear that you do care for
Fremea and so I ask - Whom do you still serve? What have you
not shared with us?"
"If your word is kept by magic or honor I would absolve you
of it as Alfar and druid if you but give me a sign."
Etain sighs and holds the mug of ale with both hands as if
to warm his hands. It is cool tonight but not that cold.
He looks to the back of the bar with the mirror that allows
the bar tender to see behind him as he works. He eyes the
stacks and shveles of bottles. "I did not know Varange was
behind this. He is arrogant. He is mean at times. But I
believe he is fiercely loyal to the Sidh, the Faerry. I
don't think he was the one to take them. As I said before
the fire was reported to us by the Royal Scholar. No one
questioned it as he was well trusted and very old. He
died a few years ago I believe. But I did suspect that he
was given the info but was not directly involved. I do
not know who gave him the info. There was an investigation
by others into the fire but nothing unusual was found. Though
no bodies were found."
Fremea perks up at this. She was told there were bodies.
Etain sees her shock and nods.
"I was told otherwise that at least one body was found
by others in Avalon. This odd conflict caused me to write
home to my own people. I sought out a powerful mage who
could do his own investigation. His skills were far greater
than the Fae's. He determined the fire in the hut was
cased by magic but could not determine if animal or person.
At the time your parents were in the Wild Forest living
from being somewhat exiled by the Royals. They wanted to
fight and take you with them. But in fact Varange argued
against this saying that it would only endanger you by
getting to the bad side of the Royals. He was very
silver tongued at the time. He scared your mother so bad
she felt you would be safe at Avalon. Fearing for their
own safety they left.
Varange on one hand did not want you to lose your parents
He believed that you were stronger with them. but the
Royals suspected they were a distraction. That they could be
your weakness. " He raises a hand. "I know this is a bit
confusing. But Varange wanted them around but warned them
in all honesty they would be a bit in danger if they stayed.
I suspect he knew more than he was telling anyone.
Then the last time we sent you away for the last mission
for the royals is when you were enslaved here. At the
time we did not know this. I was still in the Royal Archives
reading things of the history. A time I enjoyed. I then
noticed a human enter and speak to the royal scholar's
apprentice. Humans in Avalon are not rare but are more kin
to prisoners at times unless they are true friends of the
Sidh. This one started to argue with the apprentice. The
human talked about being owed his freedom. In terms of
the way to leave Avalon. Most humans in Avalon get a bit
confused and tend never to leave without guidanace. The
human claimed to arrange something for it. The apprentice
tried to quiet him but the man got more upset. Finally
they left and out of earshot. Two days later the man was
found dead face up in the stream. Seems he slipped on
a slick rock or so they believe. Fell on more rocks and
died.
At the time I thought nothing of it. As the Royals sent
out others to track you more time passed. They could not
find you. I learned the apprentice was in charge of this
search with those outside Avalon. As months passed the
Royals felt I was no longer worthy of staying there. I was
asked to leave kindly. Seems I had no one to teach anymore.
The day I was escorted out I was heading the Archives. I
was told by a craftsman that the Archivist apprentice was
seen burying a book in the forest in a chest. I wanted
to ask him why. Then I was escorted out.
I am not a great investigator. So I could not put all the
pieces together. Not until I learned you were possibly in
the east somewhere by rumors. I felt dread at the time
and sought the ale. I am no world trotting adventure person
so could not simply find you."
Etain drinks some of his ale and turns around to face the
table of party members. "Fate seemed to have sent you back
here. So where are your parent's now? Who knows. Varange
seems to know. Are they alive? I suspect so. I
suspect maybe they faked their own deaths or were captured or
ambushed into hiding. Who did that? I do not know. I
suspect if Varange wanted them dead he could do it quite
easily. I do think the Royals had their plans for you."
He turns to Fremea. "I think they wanted glory again for
the Fae. Many in Avalon wanted that. Many in my own
people want that. Many in the humans want that I hear
like in Clima. The glory days can drive creatures quite
unstable. How this all links up with the pieces, Varange
and your parents? I have no clue."
"I do know Varange is jealous. He strives for more power.
I think he saw how the Royals treated you and treated him
just like some grunt rather than a right hand confidant.
I think he seeks the pieces so he can gain more power and
bring back a very powerful item to the Royals. This might
raise his flag and lower your status." He glances to Raban
who is laughing with Kell. "I do think the Royals think
you are dead or betrayed them. I think they feel you
saw your parents die and wish nothing of them. They
wanted so much more from you. Things to do, people to
..deal with, objects to find among other duties."
"I could speculate and do theories but this would get us
no where. I hope this helps. I honestly hope you find
your parents safe. One thing can be true about Varange
he won't harm them. The sacred oath that no Fae harm
another Fae is honor bound to him. This doesn't mean
he can't use others or use them against you. If it
means getting the last piece then he may just trade you
them for it. You must be prepared to have your parent's
or the final piece. You may not be able to have both."
Fremea stares in disbelief at the half-drunk old Elf.
He did know more. Does he even have more info? She
turns to Kiet. Maybe Kiet's skills might be useful. But
with his recent heart wound it might do more harm. She
considers his words and walks away for a few minutes.
Fremea waves for Arawn to join her at the side of the
Inn by the front door.
Pulling the Alfar (as she has learned a bit more about what
his status is supposed to be with her), she pulls out the
necklace that she took from one of the apes. "This was handled
by the mage that almost killed Raban. Can we use any of your
gifts to track him? I want to make sure he can not surprise us
again."
Before Fremea can explain Arawn asks, "What would you like me
to try and discover?"
Arawn studied the necklace, looking for any markings that
might grant him insight. After he then peered more closely
scrutinizing the aura surrounding it. Only afterwards did he
carefully wrap it up in cloth.
Both Sidh can tell from looking the necklace is magical.
Its relative power is that of one of the least experienced
mages in the group. The necklace itself is a simple silver
gray alloy of simple bronze. It has encrusted a few magical
runs. A simple clasp of metal allows the necklace to be
worn around the neck. It doesn't take much to figure out
that the necklace likely was protection from the unknown
mage's spells likely the spell that affected Raban.
"I'll see what I can do but it'll likely take more than a
standard tracking spell as the ape was the primary bearer. I
must be careful with my choice as this intrigue seems to reach
to the Upper Realms and some of my prayers have been blocked."
"I'd also like to discuss the connection with Varange. Moon
Gort or not I think we should work on meditations to not only
block or alter any information Varange may try and gather from
you but also to possibly allow you to see through you connection
back to him. It might prove very valuable, especially during our
final encounter."
Arawn outlines his options to find the mage. He asks if Fremea
saw the mage. She shakes her head in negative.
Arawn frowns, "That will make this more difficult, if even
possible, but I will try," Arawn replied.
"In the meanwhile, it might prove useful to investigate the
address I discovered in Bogan's papers. If he's been working
with Varange, or at least those selling faerries to slavers, we
might find information on that could help us to locate your
parents or Varange, this other mage, and their allies. If this
is found we might be able to locate your parents before Varange
can work to use them against you."
"I would also suggest discussing the Moon Gort with the
faerries before they leave."

Next Update...Monday...
GM: Finally its done! I know very late. I started this a week
ago. But with the posts and time to do it took this long
to finish it. then lost that few days with no A/C which
was too hot to work. Keep in mind the time is now only
about 3 hours before sunrise. If you guys are to get
any rest its better now. If you talk and talk more time
will go more past. At sunrise I'll do the mana
regeneration and such. There is a lot of stuff above. Much
you saw in the public posts. I had some time to organize
it and place in a semi coherent order. the emails between
Fremea/Arawn I figured public since no warning otherwise. Plus
to allow a form easier to read rather than replying to about 20
emails. :) Sorry I did not reply fast to those emails since
I got swamped.
The stuff in email between Tobie/John seemed to not mention
anywhere of it being private or such. So I included here
only for others benefit as well as the 10 or so emails
would be harder to reply to. :)
The Faerry will leave within 2 hours. I know some like
Arawn wanted to go wit them but this will take time from
sleep when they can just go just as fast alone. flying
rather than having a horse keep up (plus there is a river
to cross). Unless stated otherwise to follow I'll assumes
they are left to go home by themselves.
GM: Tasks to do -
* Heal Raban by Z'leyra - Next update
* Heal Fremea by herself - Next update
* Find Personal Slaver - Upcoming updates
* Find town ring slavers - Upcoming updates
* Find mysterious Mage - Upcoming updates
* Find moon wort - Upcoming Updates
* Investigate Bogan scrolls - Upcoming Updates
* Sell loot if possible Upcoming Updates
* Messenger funds to Farm Upcoming updates
A reminder to myself of what has to be done. I assume
healing of Fremea will be done herself as she hinted to
it above.
As for the tasks let me know if you want to be in another
task group or more than one. It will be a bit chaotic
doing 4 groups in town but I'll have to skip-gap the groups.
Meaning some will be fast and some will not see a update
done on them for a time depending on the time and how long
their tasks are. In theory groups will not know what
others are up to so a spot and time will be needed. If
this takes more than a day let me know on other plans but
it may not. Tracking the mage may take a lot of time so any
that do this will have to skip the other tasks. Let me
know on the tracking mage thing.
There is a lot of things still up in the air. I tried to
cover it all here. But I may have missed something. If
so let me know.
Since this is such a large update replies might be big.
If so there is a slight chance may not have time to complete
the update by Friday. But I'll try.
GM: Ok. So next update will push to sunrise and maybe breakfast.
Faerry will be gone. Will do healing. Will do Mana Regen.
I will do another recap of suggested groups to ensure what
is to be done. Hope I have no forgotten anything in this
large update. Whew!
GM: Suggested groups -
Find Fremea's slaver - Fremea, Raban
Town slavers - Kell, Unali
Find Moon wort - Arawn, Will
Bogan scrolls - Kiet, Z'leyra, Etain
This is to keep me reminded. If the groups are not
good at this time let me know which group or other actions
you wish to do or such.

It is still unclear on the treasure. For those who selected
the same item you will have to decide between you who gets
what. Fremea placed suggestions but at this point don't think
direct orders? If folks agree she has final say as the
elected leader. Just keep in mind its only loot try not
to kill each other over it.
I will assume at this point the coins will be divided equally
unless shares given away. The mundane gems will be sold in
town the next day (unless stated otherwise) then the coin
divided up again as determined.
I'm told now Alex just offers to enhance the gems doesn't
claim them. But he can rephase the claims if needed.
GM: I did forget the other treasure. The scrolls. I will have
to find the update I mentioned that. Most of the scrolls
are business oriented. A person will have to read them
to learn much more on them. This again will take time
a bit from a good rest for the night.
There was a ring in Bogan's box that I forgot to mention.
But I can't find the notes on it. I though it was a gold
ring worth about 4 gold. But Can't find it. So I will
just mention it on the side.
GM: There are two Moon items Gort and Wort. I know I was
tired and figured out a way to come up with this new
mystery item. So there are 2 distinct items so if confused
one is in the book 4 stuff one I just invented for this. :)
