[New Stuff]
[Sepes 29th, 1634TH]
[Location: City of Samma, Donara]
[Fremea/Raban group]
[Time: 11:05:23 am - Samma city, Donara]
After seeing Grosis laying the cart unconscious, she thought
it might work well to just kill him, or even make sure people
knew he was dead by displaying him. But, her new training had
started to help her and she controlled herself and most of her
emotions to realize he might be a lead to knowing more about who
is in charge. The guard has been useful and he will be for a
little while more.
"Raban, unless we can see any reason to kill him out right at
this time, lets have some fun torturing him and take him to see
Kiet. He might have more info that we don't know about yet. I
know he is scum and deserves to die, and I will make sure he
does, but I know that if I start going at him, I might not stop
before the right info it extracted. What do you think brother?"
That last word startled Raban openly showing surprise on his
face. He is a friend of the Sidh in some official circles
but a brother? He blushes slightly and then looks away to
gain his composure. Fremea grins and notices he even gets
more handsome when embarrassed. Then he replies more serious,
"the others may have more questions for him. I think of all
you should have the right on this man to determine his fate.
So I will follow whatever you say. Let's get to the Inn to
find the others then we can see if Kiet can persuade him to
speak better with us."
[Time: 11:18:10 am - Samma city, Donara]
Raban gets to the Inn and parks the wagon. He checks on
the man in back to ensure he is quiet and runs inside. He
finds Etain and Z'leyra talking. Etain explains where the
others are. Seems Arawn just left recently and went to find
Jordi. Kell and Kiet are back together at a local barn south
of the inn. Z'leyra then asks about those who might know
of skills for traps.
Raban speaks up at this, "I am not a trap expert. But I
have skills on finding them and secret places. So in some
indirect way I can deal with traps but I may be not as skills
as the others."
Unali considers this and decides to wait it would be a
issue for Raban to climb the ladder. Maybe someone else
will have trap skills. If only Balrog was here.
Raban gets the directions to the barn and heads outside.
Z'leyra decides to climb on the wagon and join the others
at the barn as well.
[Time: 11:33:21 am - Samma city, Donara]
Raban finally arrives at the barn in the secluded area of
the city. Probably at one point this section was more for
industry and business that did not want to be in the proper
city. But now it seems to be some light farm and estates
that rebuild after some time. Maybe some major storm hit
the south side of the city and wipes most things out. Letting
the results be what the group sees now.
Raban sees a blacksmith and a barn with a small house out
back. A man with a black apron leaves the shop and wipes
his hand on a rag. He sees the wagon and begins to shake
his head. "No. No. I thought it was just a couple people.
A wagon and more people? This will draw attention. You
need to leave."
Raban stops the wagon and locks the brake. He climbs down.
The blacksmith waves him away, "Etain owes me a favor but
this much attention is bad. I will need some boys here to
help this afternoon and they'll ask questions."
"Boys?" Raban asks.
"I need some bricks and tree debris cleared from the yard.
It would take a bit of time and hauled away." The man points
to a stack of bricks and two piles of what used to be tall
trees cut up.
"I can do that. I am worth 3-4 of your boys. I'll do
it for free." Raban offers his hand for a shake.
The blacksmith looks concerned but then realizes that the
free word is too much of a draw. "Free? Well...."
"Well maybe not free. How about a bit of tea or beer?"
"That I can do. Deal." He shakes Raban's hand and tells
him where he needs the debris sent and dumped. The bricks
to be sent to a nearby estate and dumped and the tree debris
to a estate that has a lot of bonfires for parties.
Fremea exits the wagon with Z'leyra and heads to the barn.
Raban and the guard carry the slaver toward the barn.
"Whoa who is that?" The blacksmith asks.
Raban stops and considers what to do say. But at times
the truth does wonders. "This man enslaved a friend of
ours. He has done very bad things. We are here to ask
him questions."
The blacksmith stares startled then nods, "that will
bring more attention down on me. But I lost a friend
to indentured service. At least what they called it
for the debt. She was virtually a slave and a abused
one mainly in the bedroom. Till she killed herself. If
you need some hot fire brands come to my shop." Then
he walks back toward the shop.
Raban looks at Fremea and shrugs, moving toward the
barn.
[Time: 11:36:01 am - Samma city, Donara]
Raban enters the barn and sees the naked man. "Did we
interrupt a party?"
Z'leyra eyes the man over and looks at his injuries. Most
seem small but nothing fatal.
Unali joined the wagon just a few minutes before and
stares at the guard. She can guess that the man is
enthralled by some means. He just stares blankly out
to the side. She watches the guard none the less as
they enter the barn.
---------------
[Kiet/Unali/Kell Group]
[Time: 11:23:03 am - Samma city, Donara]
When Mavac spurts out that he has superiors at provincial
level, Unali remarks, "so the fool does know more than he told
me. And now he will tell all to Kiet here."
Once Kell is back with the requested tools Unali will leave
for the tavern. She turns to Kell and Kiet, "He is all yours
for now. I will check with Fremea if she needs info here."
Kell and Kiet gather up all the materials they need and can
find around the place for the next ten minutes or so.
[Time: 11:25:03 am - Samma city, Donara]
Unali heads out towards the tavern in the north. She takes
the winding roads trying to recall the way there. But in
just two minutes of walking she sees Raban and Fremea driving
a wagon toward her. She decides to hop back up on the wagon
and return to the barn to see what Fremea may need.
[Time: 11:36:01 am - Samma city, Donara]
Kell smiles at Unali, "a quick trip."
Now the core group is here at the barn with two prisoners.
Raban explains who the man and guard are. What they found.
A sharing of complete info is given taking a few minutes
of what Mavac said and what was learned about Bogan's place.
Kiet decides he needs to tell me specifically what you want
Kiet to ask. Kiet has no background info on what you want to
find out. Kiet hasn't been around to know what has transpired,
and it would be best if you and Kell would engage Kiet in a
conversation.
Kiet asks, "um...why do you want him tortured? And how will
the others in our group react? They, and you, have been so
squeamish in the past knowing about my, er, skills. Why now?
What's so important that YOU of all people want this man
tortured."
"Also, since we are considering this, maybe you should stick
around and be part of this instead of running off. I'm somewhat
apprehensive of doing this to someone I don't know for reasons I
don't know and the person that wants to know what 'he' knows
(Kiet motions towards the prisoner) doesn't want to be part of
this?" Kiet shakes his head while grim faced.
Raban shakes his head, "I've been recruited outside for some
work. Sorry."
Kell shrugs, "I rather avoid the mess. My stomach is not
as strong as yours. I'd rather get some sun."
Kiet looks around at least Arawn is not here. He might jus
try to talk to the man and stop this.
[Time: 11:40:00 am - Samma city, Donara]
[Arawn/Jordi's Tavern]
[Time: 12:04:07 pm - Samma city, Donara] - Arawn
Arawn continued to be intrigued by the recognition some of
the elves had at his name, in particular the general's. It was
one thing to be known among the High Court but he was surprised
that his name was recognizable among those who chose to live
in the muck and mire of the Middle World. Perhaps it was nothing
more than his own ignorance at the measure of information that
passed between realms but he a part of him wondered if it might
also be connected to his mysterious 'banishment'.
Their reaction when his father's name was mentioned was less
surprising- both of his parents had a terrible majesty about
them. However Bandy's rather blasé` reaction had Arawn wondering
who he might be, if he was a royal or from the Upper Realms,
someone with a connection.
Of course even those in the upper realms know of humans here
by some reputation. Some like the High Elder, though when
Arawn met him it was that title alone not his name. The
lich wizard who ravaged the land. Great heroes and bad guys
across the lands. But mostly names in passing like a kid's
tale during bed time. Maybe this is how they recognize him
only by his name. The appointed son of gods who was worthy
of things but if the bad elves did not eat their veggies
maybe he might visit and punish them. But who knows how
they know him.
Arawn remained quietly unassuming when the human mistook
Jordi's introduction, taking 'upper' to mean 'north'. Perhaps
it would be better that way, perhaps not. And as Jordi moved
to properly introduce the council he also quietly took in the
other comments, reading the body language of both speaker and
listeners, his highly empathic nature working alongside to help
him read the room.
Recognizing the challenges of a mixed group, by race and nation,
Arawn chose to greet them as formality dictated, warm for the
benefits of the humans without diminishing himself in the eyes
of the elves and as warranted by the individuals known status.
In less severe settings or perhaps after familiarity he could
return to form.
"Thank you for the opportunity to sit in on council meeting,"
he said, addressing the body. "And as a druid I would like to
offer a blessing upon this council, if it will be taken, at a
moment convenience for the group. And perhaps I may seek some
divine guidance on the council's behalf if my time permits for
it."
Arawn slipped into the seat indicated by Jordi.
"It seems to me that it would be to the benefit of every group
represented to see this thing through. Understandably it becomes
an issue of cost versus benefit but from what I understand Clima
represents a threat to economic health as well as cultural, and
literal, survival.
Clima's history shows it to be violent expansionists and recent
events, by this I mean the kidnapping of representatives and the
fleet of air ships they were forming, indicate that they are on
a path of war. This is happening whether or not we deal with
the Fort.
But it is this Fort, their colony along the Forest, that is
their lifeblood. Without access to it their nation will be
crippled. One does not create a ship without wood and it is
upon their ships, their navy, that they exist as a threat upon
the Sea of Tears."
At the mention of air ships the humans all look at Arawn
with blank stares. They did not react to the kidnapping
statements. Being diplomatic type people they may know
of this but the air ships? They suddenly look worried and
concerned. Arawn realizes he may have spoken out of turn.
Jordi looks at the door to the side of Arawn and shakes his
head. Arawn notices the elves seem to be less reactive
as if they heard the stories. With Varange leading a rescue
party toward Clima then the word must've spread in the
Sidh community.
Arawn gave the council a moment to take this in, though they
were all more than likely well aware. But it seemed a good thing
to say, giving any wandering minds something to focus on beyond
simply calculating potential gains. His eyes danced across the
table, landing on the general to answer his earlier question.
"So, yes, I think they would seek to retake the fort if it
should fall. But I think it important for the sake of peace and
security of all civilized nations to take and hold the fort. The
real issue, in my humble opinion, is not whether to do so but
when."
The Elves all know and the one from the south seems to beam
a bit at that. Arawn can guess the coalition of other cultures
like the humans must've been his idea.
"Despite the looming threat of war presented by Clima's recent
activity such actions have also worked to put that nation in a
vulnerable position."
"Likely it would have spent considerable resources on the air
fleet and with its destruction, as should be attested to by
Jordi, they have lost a vital military force that would have
been built at the expense of other things. They will now be
working hard to recruit and train troops as well as using
resources to shore up this hole in military defense. And the
more time they are allowed to rebuild the smaller the opportunity
afforded.
Luckily Bhamotin's navy is mightily blessed and Gom, if memory
serves me correctly, has one of the bravest and fiercest naval
forces around. I would imagine Donara's no less spectacular,"
Arawn added, hoping that if Gom committed ships Bhamotin would
feel more comfortable doing so, followed by the Donaran
ambassador.
"Alongside the loss of ships and experienced troops Clima has
angered several surrounding nations. I would imagine that you
may be able to find other allies to support this cause. I make
no guarantees but perhaps I might be able to facilitate a meeting
for additional aid," Arawn said with an almost knowing smile.
Duke Aren had suffered much due to the Climan intrigue and the
Alfar wondered if Marentia, or at least the Duke, might have
interest in this affair. It would be something to discuss with
Unali once he met up with the shadow-warrior.
"To me it would be to the benefit of all present to maintain
an alliance, not only in regards to the Climan campaign but for
mutually beneficial peace and prosperity. And if this alliance
does solidify I would personally invoke the blessings of the
gods in a formal ceremony before the onset of the campaign."
"Much is asked and I know that each of you is concerned over
the risks, in battle and in the aftermath. It will require not
only foresight but courage to be among the first to pledge aid
but such is always the burden of those who would inspire by
leadership."
The man from Gom waits for Arawn to end and then speaks
in a clipped Donaran, "air ships? What do you speak of?"
Three of the humans nod in confusion and await an answer.
Jordi speaks up before Arawn can, "well there were rumors
of them working on new ships.."
The man from Xan shakes his head, "no he said destruction
of them as if they were made already."
The general sighs and tries to clear his throat, "this
attack is for the winter when the navy is usually at
port. So the Climans will not be able to strike back
till spring or summer. If all goes well not even before
summer mid way. Our allies would bring ships from the
coastline which is safer but even in winter time the
Sea can be dangerous. So even climan pirates will stay
closer to the island."
The man from Bhamotin nods, "I've considered Marentia
as well. But they may be just a bit too far to react.
We are far as well and we only got invited when a person
near our borders.... Farseeker or Farsooker? He met with
one our nobles and shared drinks. That might have been
enough for most to slip words."
Arawn nods, Farseeker did work in the south of Marentia
near the border of Bhamotin. During the last few weeks
after Katai. If he recalls he was at that Fort on the
border as commander or close to it.
The Bhamotin continues, "I'm late in this process
already. The mission started months ago. So I don't
know if it is too late for Marentia to come in."
The general nods, "it would be useful for their ships.
But that is a great distance for them to come. We would
have to offer more than the others here. Intelligence
or men might be best if they could get here safely."
The Xan man drinks his ale then adds, "back to these
air ships?"
Arawn sighs and knows that this may have just sent the
wagon off the cliff as Kiet sometimes says.

---Ending Time---

Actions? Comments?
Next Update...Friday...??
GM: Ok. A good place to stop. I was going to start the
torture stuff (a big email from Kiet). But due to
things I rather post pone it for later. Plus I need
to know what Kiet needs to ask. I know some of the
old questions already but just in case may want to
add new stuff for Grosis and Mavac. Also Fremea
will need to determine how severe things go as far
as close to fatal, body parts being cut off, etc.
Schedule of events for next couple updates. I work
this Thursday so will be hectic doing a update that
night. I'll try Wednesday night BUT I have something to
do that day and may not have time. So don't be
surprised if no update. No need to rush but if get
posts out that's fine. Now for next Monday 10/13
I'm off but will have a thing that day. So I will have
less time to work on it. If I do it might be Saturday
a bit and rest Monday. But again update might be delayed.
So don't be alarmed if next 2 updates are missing.
At this point it is Arawn alone. Will/Etain alone at
the Inn (unless Will wakes up and posts!?!?). The
rest is all at the barn.
Who will remain to participate in Kiet's fun? If
you say something in protest do so now. Just got
any questions you need answered or what things to add
for Kiet's fun.
GM: Arawn - Now for some fun with slip of diplomatic words. :)
You are 30 minutes now ahead of the others. So even
if you leave now you'll miss the bulk of other stuff
at the barn.
Fremea - Will need to let us know how things will go
in terms of level of torture.
Kiet = Technically you know all this stuff already.
You were aware when Fremea explained about Grosis.
Mavac you heard bits/pieces. You didn't hear what
Unali asks but assume everything in the updates you
now know unless someone states otherwise. I will
get to your other big email later. Not read your
full email yet so if its there ignore this. But
how long do you do the stuff on each person?
