[Recap]
From Z'leyra: [Re: Actions]
After casting the healing spell Z'leyra is busy doing her best
to fix Pyan with her healing skills. Her jaw clamped shut her
face in a frown as she tries to replays in her mind the moment
where her fire dart impacted on Pyan instead of the Great
Spider it was aimed at.
Talking to Arawn, Z'leyra says "I don't think Pyan is tough...
GM: Ack. Magic is never auto-hit like in computer games. Things
are line of sight. A flame dart for me means a straight
missile it does NOT chase you down. On the other hand say
a Archery spell might with Guided Missile. But once released
a spell typically is line of sight for the most part. When
I typically use missile weapons if I see it will hit possible
targets I decide then its too dangerous. Why you've seen
that before in updates. But there are times like this one
that when I figure the LOS is bad and its been posted and
from a pc I don't do that.
From Z'leyra: [RE: Actions]
"Anything magical is too dangerous until tomorrow. The...
GM: Ack.
From Kiet: [Re: Actions]
Kiet offers up some possible help for Pyan.
"I don't know if it will help, but I have some...
Kiet now wishes he hadn't activated his shield. If it was
still working, he could have given it to Pyan to use to
regenerate.
Sheesh. It's bad enough to be taken out by a snake, but
friendly fire...?
GM: Ack. Shield would been too late. Depending on how low the
DTV is I have rules for how long a person survives. He
was already in the Seconds category. So shield would've
killed him. After that might kill him as a healing spell.
But thanks for offer.
From Kiet: [Re: Actions]
"Sorry, but both the grass and the seeds are enhanced."
GM: Ack. My stance on magical healing. It is a risk as long
as one hit point is healed. Physical that is. Not energy
healing. I think energy healing can be as many as needed
since the spirit is strong. Preventive actions for things
like boosting stats, immune system, pain relievers and
such do not heal so are fine to me. IT does not matter of
a NMI item is enhanced or not as long as it does not heal
1 point then its fine. The grass for example only helps with
HC doesn't physically heal it sets up healing. One could
Rule Lawyer argue that things like ointments and herbs
do risk that danger. I would agree if it was over a long
period of time. Say a person in a coma for 3 months and
treated with herbs and such. Over time they would physically
heal per se so would be risky. But over a one night period
then no. Immune system is fast but not that fast in just
a few hours. But I can see both sides of the argument.
From Arawn: [Re: Actions]
Kneeling beside the critically wounded warrior Arawn ...
"There is little we can do for now beyond seeking to ease...
OOC:
Scott, as Amaranth doesn't actually heal would Z'leyra or
Arawn, as magically trained healers, know if enhanced Amaranth
(or other NMI's) can be safely used alongside magical healing?
And assuming no issue with this, Arawn will cast Bless at max
EL to raise Pyan's Constitution and Stamina (reroll any
failure, please). He'll also offer the use of his Burn Ointment
(or any other Healing tool) to Z'leyra in case she doesn't have
any.
Once Pyan was stabilized Arawn moved off to check on those
still paralyzed and to see to the wounded.
OOC:
If Z'leyra's potion fails to remove the paralysis for some
reason then Arawn will cast Negate Poison at max EL (he'll cast
Luck at max EL prior to doing so) to hopefully negate the poison.
For those wounded (but not yet magically healed), including
himself, Arawn will cast Healing Mist (max EL, group area of
effect - recast if this isn't big enough to cover everyone in
need) while the rest of the party guards the camp.
If others are having trouble skinning and tapping the spiders
for venom then Arawn is willing to Transmute (max EL) one of
them into a small metal statuette for now.
Later, if Pyan is having trouble sleeping Arawn will go out
to look for plants that can be used to make something that
will help Pyan sleep or ignore the pain. As the woods are
dangerous he thinks having company for this might be a good
thing - anyone want to join?
GM: Ack. See above. I'll consider Z's comments as in the heat
of things and would know that enhanced or not does not
change the rule as long as physical healing is not done.
I only see one NMI that might help Moon Rose but odds of
finding that are less than 2% typically especially at night.
So best to use sleep spell.
From Fremea: [Re: Actions]
After Fremea is sure that Pyan is taken care of by Z and Arwan,
she will collect poison from the spiders. First she will figure
out how to make an anti-dote quickly to help the paralyzed
people and then store the rest. When Kiet mentions skinning a
spider, she will do the same thing and take anything else that
can be useful from them.
She will offer to cast healing on anyone that wants or needs
it. "It seems that we need to make sure Kiet doesn't wonder
off by himself anymore. He keeps 'finding' strays to come back
with him." She just smiles at him.
GM: Ack.
From David: [Re: Healing rule]
To me, the rule for endangering a player with too much
healing magic is if magical healing is used too often. The
options Kiet is providing merely improve his chances of natural
healing. It's a significant difference. Stamina and HC mods
is all they do.
GM: Ack. I agree as above. Natural healing doesn't affect the
shock rule. Fringeworthy had a great chart on system shock
that ever so often I use.
From Arawn: [Re: Actions]
1. Assuming I'm reading Scott's post correctly it seems like
the following are safe/acceptable to use on Pyan (assuming he's
open to them) -
Burn Ointment/Healing Kit
Herbal Pain Relievers
Using Amaranth and Dharba Grass to improve Pyan's HC% Bless to
raise CON and STA - which should raise Pyan's HC% (reducing
chance for infection as well) and improve his health and pain
tolerance a bit without acting as healing Sleep aid/magic
Arawn will push ahead with any previously posted plans to help
Pyan as long as they are on the approved list.
2. If Sleep Magic is safe then Arawn will cast Sleep Touch at
EL 0 (which should last 12 hours) to ease Pyan's suffering.
He'll renew the spell the next day, shortly before the spell
ends.
3. And if transporting him becomes an issue Arawn will
cast Transmutation at EL 5 (using the Sidh Tongue) to turn a
fallen branch into a cart, wagon, etc. - whatever seems most
appropriate to the patient's needs and the terrain (if this can
hold Red Shirt's remains as well, even better) . This should
grant just over 5 days of use. Good old fairy magic turning a
pumpkin into a carriage! Unless needed prior Arawn will wait
until morning to cast this, shortly before the party is ready
to head out.
GM: Ack. 1. Yes. Fine with no risk. However, keep in mind
duplicate effects. IF HC is boosted by 1 and then a second
I will only take the best. Too me this is like using
magical items that conflict so NMIs can conflict in that
regard. Unless exceptions occur with the first HC being
boosted by second. But generally it is not cumulative.
3. Assuming your mist heals him no need to transport him.
From Arawn: [Re: Actions]
"A good idea... for all of us," Arawn said with a grave ...
GM: Ack.
From Pyan: [Re: Actions]
"You shot me? I thought a spider had jumped on me and
knocked my into the fire."
"Brr It's getting cold tonight"
GM: Ack. Wow. That's the longest post you've done since
started. Guess it takes death to get more done? :)
Just kidding. I see this game as a chronicle a tale
of heroes and adventures. The more detailed or role
playing that is done by each person the better the
read for the audience. You saw it was a few hundred
lines of text/role playing just on saving you. This
was great to me. It adds spice. Feel free to chew
out Z'leyra or punch Kiet for bringing spiders or even
yelling at a spider. Its all for the best. :)

[New Stuff]
[Northern Zarun - Forest]
[Decalis 7th, 1634TH]
[Time: 6:39:15 pm]
Z'leyra works with great vigor trying to do her best healing
skills on the burnt hunter. As she works her jaw is clenched
so much her teeth ache. Replaying the events in the last
minute she doesn't understand how it happened. Sure friendly
fire as the warriors call it, do happen. That is normal in
the fog of war. Things happened so fast that she only recalls
turning and firing. Her emotion at seeing Unali fallen a
long term friend may have blocked her vision, a way of tunnel
sight they call it. Her instinct was to save the dagger maiden.
When she activated her helmet firestone she only realized
a second after that the angle was bad. By then it was even
too late to yell a warning.
Never had she missed with a fire dart before. Though close,
she thought she had had a clear line of sight to the spider.
She had been slightly worried that Zabyra would step back into
the line of fire but had seen by her motion that it was not
what she was doing, that Pyan would get into the line of fire...
she hadn't seen.
Talking to Arawn, Z'leyra says, "I don't think Pyan is tough
enough for us to risk casting another healing magic on him
while this first spell is still active enough to set up a death
dealing resonance. With burns like this it will be very painful
for him, but we must wait till the morrow before casting another
healing on him. Perhaps then would be a good time for you to
demonstrate to me how your healing spell works."
Pyan stares at the forest canopy and can barely make out the
two or three stars between the stars. The flicker of the
campfire he almost fell into is blocking some of his overall
vision. But he tries to figure out what happened. Did
the spider poison him with acid? In the two seconds after
falling in the fire adrenaline keeps him from falling
unconscious. But then the pain is too much and he only
recalls the strange Elf over him and maybe another voice
of the healer. But his mind is ablaze with pain so it
is hard to say. His mind urges him to sleep and shut
down from the pain. Then does so.
But then an eternity later, or maybe just a few seconds,
he can't recall he wakes up with a gasp of air. Did he
stop breathing? Did he die? He can hear the crackle of the
campfire and movement around him. He can feel his shirt being
torn to shreds for some reason as he is stripped? He can feel
cold hands on his chest and knows this is not the right time
for that sort of thing. Maybe later in the tent. But why
does his face and chest itch so much? Then he hears Z'leyra
speak about being tough? Tough for what? Then to his left
he hears Z'leyra speak.
"I am so sorry Pyan. I thought that you were clear of the line
of fire when I cast the fire dart. I am doing what I can to heal
you but it must wait till tomorrow for you to get fully healed
else the magic involved may kill you."
Pyan seems to understand it but wonders what she means is
she talking in that odd language again? Fire dart? Then
suddenly it comes to him a lance of fire shooting from the
woods toward him. He tries to duck but the flame was too
fast. So she shot me? What kind of group is this? Then
the pain suddenly hits him and his concentration explodes i
his mind. He grits his teeth and begins to shake from the
pain.
Kiet finishes the last spider and rushes to Pyan's side.
He stares at the huge burnt marks on his chest, shoulder
and face. Those will give scars for years. But he offers
to the healers help.
"I don't know if it will help, but I have some enhanced
Darbha Grass and some Amaranth Seeds that Pyan can have. But
you healers would have to tell me if they might harm him
conflicting with your magic."
Z'leyra glances away grabbing her satchel as she finishes
cutting Pyan's tunic away. She realizes she will have to
probably get him some new quilted armor which basically
evaporated from the heat and a new tunic. At least his
pants are in decent shape. As she grabs materials from
her satchel she replies to Kiet.
"Anything magical is too dangerous until tomorrow. The
resonance of two healing type spells shock the system of the
person. Unless they have exceptionally hardy constitution or
are in desperate and urgent need it is simply too unsafe to
do so. Natural methods such as healing skills, burn ointment
and unenhanced natural materials can be used safely. But some
natural items such as Unicorn horn are effectively magical
healing spells that risk the resonance."
"If the Amaranth seeds are not enhanced one dosage should
be fine, the Darbha grass should also be fine. They will help.
But neither will prevent the next hours from being very painful
and uncomfortable for Pyan."
Kiet frowns, "sorry, but both the grass and the seeds are
enhanced."
Kneeling beside the critically wounded warrior Arawn assisted
the shamaness as she turned the fullness of her attention
towards treating the man's burnt being. Agreeing with her on
delaying any further magical healing unless absolutely necessary
with a quick nod he then pulled forth a vessel containing the
precious burn ointment. Holding it aloft for Z'leyra to use he
listened as Kiet discussed other options to aid Pyan.
"There is little we can do for now beyond seeking to ease his
pain and grant him the escape of sleep. However, I will invoke
a Sidh blessing, granting him fortitude to help better handle
the pain and reduce the chance of infection. Beyond that I will
see if this wood will offer the material to concoct a sleep-aid
as I would prefer to avoid magically inducing him so."
Zabyra looks concerned at Pyan's condition. She has not seen
burns like this since a home back home burnt killing 3 of
the family members. The hunter may have saved her life but
is unclear of that.
Pyan opens his eyes and tries to recall all that was just
said. Talking about infections and risks? Risk for what?
Wasn't being killed risky enough?
Pyan opens his eyes and looks at the helmet on Z'leyra's
helm where that gem must've fired on him. He quietly
begins to speak. "You shot me? I thought a spider had jumped
on me and knocked my into the fire." Z'leyra frowns at the
comment and then Pyan begins to feel the adrenaline fade
and shock settle in. "Brr It's getting cold tonight"
Fremea watches the healers and feels good that Pyan is back
alive. She glances at Kiet. "It seems that we need to make sure
Kiet doesn't wonder off by himself anymore. He keeps 'finding'
strays to come back with him." She just smiles at him.
Zabyra looks at Kiet and notices the man holding his shield
and sheathing his tulwar. But she also notices the man did not
fully dress after being scared as he relived himself. She
smiles and that's when Fremea motions downward and Kiet realizes
his mistake and turns to finish the job of dressing.
Fremea offers to heal anyone before the healers can do so.
"A good idea... for all of us," Arawn said with a grave
nod. He wonders how folks can jest at a time like this but
this is how humans work. He'll never fully understand humans
and for that matter Faerry mischievous ways.
"Once the wounded have been tended to perhaps we can see
to the spiders lair. There may be victims yet alive or
treasure to be gained."
As Z'leyra is applying ointment Arawn casts two blessings
upon Pyan. Then he tells Pyan he will let him sleep until
the morning to relieve some of his pain. He tells Z'leyra
to stop for now and casts a sleep touch spell on the hunter.
He eyes locked on the trees, his gaze drifting up towards
the canopy that stretched across the dark wood.
Arawn stands and moves toward a tree.
"Perhaps the trees may reveal such secrets," he said,
laying a hand on the trunk of tallest of the forest giants,
his lips beginning to move in quiet whispers.
[Time: 6:43 pm]
Arawn casts his spell asking the trees where the spider
lair may be at this time.
Fremea asks if anyone has crystal vials? But the party
simply says that Arawn only has a crystal goblet. Unali
does have a chalice that is crystal but with her asleep
I doubt anyone will go through her stuff.
Z'leyra remembers that Bezoar is good for death potions but
not for paralyzing poisons. Arawn hands over the goblet for
now so she can collect the poisons.
Fremea knows that doing a anti-dote could take hours so
she lets Arawn use magic to wake each person.
As Fremea and Kiet try to work on the spiders, Arawn goes
to each person starting with Unali, Kell and then Red
Shirt. He casts luck and then a spell to negate the poison.
Unali is awakened first then Kell. Finally Red Shirt is
helped but the first try fails. Arawn wonders if he is
more damaged than he looks but doesn't find any critical
wounds. Arawn tries again but the spell fails again. He
looks up to Fremea and Z'leyra for help but they are both
busy. He tries one more time and finally the spell works.
Red Shirt finally wakes.
Kell stands a bit groggy but stands. He looks around
at the spiders. "At least it wasn't snakes." He looks
at Pyan being coated in burn ointment and frowns. He can
tell from Z'leyra's expression the man probably died or
came close to it. But how and why? Maybe he'll find
out later that night as things settle down.
[Time: 6:50 pm]
The trees whisper to Arawn that the lair is 5 miles to the
north west. Arawn realizes that there is still much to do
with healing the wounded still and the spiders. But Corona
offers to go check it and return.
[Time: 6:53 pm]
Arawn gathers the wounded. He ensures there is no major
issues and stops any bleeding well before now. But doing
first aid would be futile. He gathers the wounded and
himself into a patch in the east.
Z'leyra watches and tries to learn the gestures for now.
Soon the mist falls upon Arawn and the others. Soon all
those in the mist, except Pyan, are healed back to normal.
[Time: 7:32 pm]
Corona returns to inform that there is no victims. There
is sign of some large bones but he can't tell if human or
not but they are well past dead. Smaller bones are in the
hallow but no victims to help.
[Time: 8:45 pm]
It finally takes Fremea 2 hours to milk the poison from
every spider. At about 15 minutes per spider hoping to
get 3 doses per spider. In theory there should be 24 doses
but with 3 paralyzed and others were attempted only 9 doses
were found. Arawn's crystal goblet is filled up by the
4th spider. Unali then tells she has a chalice. But now
the party has the issue of how to get the items to the city
to sell. There is no vials or containers to use other than
the goblet and chalice. In theory twice the amount of doses
may have been found but it may have been the delay in extraction
that causes less. But at 9 doses that's 27 gold.
It would have been better to have Pyan help skin the beasts.
but Kell, Kiet, Unali and eventually Z'leyra help while others
move the bodies away from the camp. Kell uses spare bags for
the hides that are collected. Since the bandit horses are
still here they can haul it. Because of damage to half the
spiders though only 4 good intact fur sets are found. At
5 gold per spider that's another 20 gold if sold correctly.
[Time: 8:48 pm]
After the spider combat the party finally starts to settle
down and moved some of the creature bodies away. The forest
animals will feast for days on the spiders and the forest
will renew itself back to its balance.
Sentries are allocated night's shift and some start to
head to bed. Soon the party's final leg will be starting.
[Time: 9:03 pm]
Kell watches Pyan sleep while the party finally settles down.
"My spider coin reward I will give to Pyan. He suffered the
most but I do not wish to take it due to that."
---------
[Northern Zarun - Forest]
[Decalis 8th, 1634TH]
[Time: 5:32 am]
The last 2 sentry shifts sense and hear creatures already
starting to descend on the spider corpses some distance
away. The largest might be a fox but soon there could
be wolves and bears.
Because of the animals the sleep spells seem to go a bit
wanky as they don't sense threats but they could in some
way be threats so the magic is a bit confusing in its
reaction. So it is harder to sleep the previous night
and the night cool chills everyone.
The party eats a quick breakfast and packs up ready
to leave for the road and back going west.
The day becomes a cloudy bitter day as the temperature
remains only from 45 to 75. Only getting in the 70s
for only an hour near noon. It gets even worse around
9am when a light drizzle drenches each rider and the
clothes remain wet for hours causing shivers.
[Time: 6:35 am]
It is starting to be light and finally Pyan wakes up from
his sleep spell. The pain quickly floods his brain even
though Z'leyra did a good job working on him the nerves are
just so damaged. Arawn rushes over and tells the group to
leave an area about 20 feet around them. He then casts
a healing mist spell while Z'leyra watches.
As the mist falls on Pyan he begins to grit his teeth
and yell. But in this case his wounds begin to close up.
Welts and burns seem to shift and fold on itself. As Arawn
watches the man shake and become queasy from the pain he
gives a prayer to boost his healing. It takes almost 3
minutes and finally the mist stops. Z'leyra and Arawn
gently remove the bandages and wipe any ointment away.
Pyan begins to shake but this time only from the cold. Both
smile and see no wounds left. The hunter is fully healed.
Kell helps the hunter stand and lends him a cloak to wrap
in before he changes clothing. "Sleeping all night while
we watched the camp and stoked the fire. We call that
slacking." He grins then becomes serious. "Glad your
with us again. You did well from what I can see. She
told us you did quite a bit of damage to the spider's."
Kell nods to Zabyra.
Pyan changes tunic and realizes his armor is destroyed.
He mounts up as the party soon leaves.
[Time: 2:35 pm]
The Zarun forest finally ends open to a large plain
in all directions. A very old sign - maybe decades
old - seems to indicate Zara city is in the west. But
the sign is mostly rotten by weather and bird droppings.
The party spreads out a bit on the road even leaving
it at times to give more room. In the forest the party
had to ride close together so as not to be ambushed
but here in the open it isn't needed.
If the sign is correct it is 40 miles till Zara City.
Kell speaks up, "I've never been to Zara city. Z'leyra
is it a wild place? I only heard a few things from Kaylle.
He said the city is 3 times smaller than Sivas with only
about 13,000 people. Half the size of Malnon. Mostly
farm land with some herds of cattle like my own Ba'ru. They
get some wood from that forest behind us." He raises his
voice to ensure he is heard. "Kaylle tells me they fear
magic. So we will have to careful. Probably not as careful
as in Katai. But not obvious. The big thing I heard is they
have no taxes at all! My kind of place to sell and buy.
With that alone I'm surprised they don't have a huge population."
Red Shirt nods, "they prefer broadswords and swords. They
can be deadly though. Once I collect on this bounty I will
lea-" He realizes he just slipped that detail out by accident.
Now they may know he is a bounty hunter. He looks around
as if to figure out a way to change the subject. "Once I
get a decent ship to return to Sivas and can buy my cousin
I'll be happy."
[Time: 5:06 pm]
The party notices a small group moving east toward the Zarun
forest where they left. They are on the road. As they near
the party sees 4 of them. They are all walking. As they get
even closer the features can be seen better. There are three
that are obvious females based on their well endowed chests.
All three stand over 7 feet - one maybe 7.5 feet. The three
females are in triangle formation with the tip in back and the
two corners in front. The two in front look to be wearing
chainmail but the one in back looks to be wearing thick plate
armor of some kind. How they could wear such with their
large bodies the party has no clue. The females are about
250-350 pounds each. Their body is humanoid but their
head is animal with tusks that look sharp. A long slopping
nose that hangs down before their mouth down to their chest.
They have large floppy ears as wide as a 2-3 feet. Their
skin shows a gray tint to it like metal but not as dark.
The three females each carry long pole arms as they walk.
But in the middle of the triangle is a human male who walks
in thick leathers. The two front females carry large backpacks
which probably hold their gear. The male walks with simple
leathers but looks bored.
Kell looks to the party as they get around 500 feet away.
"What are they?"
Arawn recognized them and explains they are called Elefan.
Mostly peaceful creatures but the females do fight. Some
in the party are fascinated by the 3 but try not to stare
obviously.
But Kell is not convinced. As the group nears within 20
feet he waves to the human. "Hello! Good day." He repeats
it in a few languages. The man who looks bored waves at
the use of Donaran but Kell doesn't speak it as well as
the others.
The man replies in Donaran, "good day."
Kell is more curious, "traveling east?"
The man nods, "to Porta to get passage to probably
Vahear then south. I have business and my companions
may go from Vahear to elsewhere."
Kell nods understanding the Elefan are not taking
the man prisoner. The party moves on as the Elefan
stare and glare every so often.
[Time: 5:51 pm]
Party leaves the road only about 3-4 miles west of the
forest. They make camp still too far to the city.
By now Reddof's body is starting to smell and Red
Shirt wonders why the wizards didn't fix that or preserve
the body. But he isn't used to magic so doesn't know
how it works.
---------
[Eastern Zarun - Plains]
[Decalis 9th, 1634TH]
[Time: 5:51 am]
The party wakes to an uneventful evening. Breakfast
is served and gear is packed back up. The day is clear
and sunny all day. But the temperature ranges form 48 to
69 with cool brisk winds from the wide plains.
[Time: 9:53 am]
The party has seen a few dozen walkers and riders by
this time on the road mostly going west but some
going east toward the forest. Log wagons are often
seen in the morning taking lumber to the city.
But this time the party sees 6 men in heavy leathers
with broadswords on their hip. They move a bit faster
than normal but not a fast run. The 6 warriors stop
and ask if they have seen certain people in the forest.
They describe the group but none were seen. Though one
did sound like that single guy that stopped talking about
his group being attacked by the natives.
Before some can decide to remain quiet or say so, Red
Shirt replies in the Zarun language. "We saw him. He
was heading this way. Said was going to the city. That
was a couple days ago."
The leader of the warriors nods, "this is why we are
coming. To seek justice and ensure that the barbarians
don't attack our kind anymore."
Kell nods and explains with help from those who know
Zarun, "the Tilani are fierce. Once you seek them out
they will not back down."
"We only want an example. We are worthy and will not
back down either."
Arawn considers spending time to disuade the warriors
from this mission of vengeance but the warriors ride
off. Then he wonders why they asked about the group
if the one survivor told them? Do the warriors want
to be known for their deeds or just to show bravado.
The 6 riders ride fast toward the Zarun forest and
Thaliba. Arawn figures they will all be dead in a couple
days but humans are bold and stupid at times.
[Time: 5:42 pm]
Camp is made off the road. If estimated are correctly the
party has maybe 6-8 miles to the city. The group would
ride but it would be 3.5 hours or so and probably 5 hours
in the darkness to ride slow. to remain careful.
---------
[Eastern Zarun - Plains]
[Decalis 10th, 1634TH]
[Time: 5:38 am]
Party breaks camp once again. As the sun rises the
clouds start to roll in. It becomes partly cloudy for
most of the day but the sun does shine sometimes. The
temperature though drops with it being cool from 30-37
degrees. Even at noon it is very cold forcing the party
to graze a bit more allowing party members to walk and
warm up.
[Time: 7:42 am]
Dark clouds roll in and open out. A large sheet of rain
drops in the area with a few quick flashes of lightning
but no snow just a wet mess of rain. The party tries
to get some shelter by a few trees but it is pretty useless
due to the amount of rain.
[Time: 9:20 am]
Finally the city margins are entered by the group. It
took some 2 hours just to finally become warm and dry.
The group notices a campfire where 3 wagons of merchants
are and dismount to warm up. But being this close to
the city the party moves on.
[Time: 9:38 am]
The party enters the eastern gate of the city. The city
is bustling with traffic mostly merchants and lumber wagons.
Many wagons coming into the city to sell their food. The
gate is relaxed with only 2 guards sitting at a table
eyeing folks but doing nothing.
[Time: 9:42 am]
Once in the city Kell claps his gloved hands. "I want
a nice steaming bath to warm up. How long do we stay
here Z'leyra? After we restock up on supplies?"
Actions? Comments?
Next Update.....Monday...
GM: A good place to stop now as its over 700 lines already.
So let me know what you want done in the city. You only
need 4 (maybe 5) days of food unless want to get more.
Z'leyra will have to decide how long in the city. It
will take a few hours to sell the horses and gear at
the very least. It is 120 miles to Aratad City which
is 4 days of pure travel.
The big issue is the Poison. There are only two Crystal
containers in the group. This changed in v2 that has
to be crystal. Arawn's Crystal goblet and Unali's crystal
Chalice. I figure 64 ounces could be collected (9 doses).
But the 2 items might at best carry 20 and 25. If that
and that's being generous. Carrying that will be difficult
on a horse. There are no vials to contain it and if its
non crystal it will decay. Transmuting an item could also
interfere as its original design is not crystal so some
degradation may occur. Oblivion would not work as the
item would be back where it was oblivioned. Transmuting
the poison could also decay the poison in some ways with
some risk of loss. So how is this problem solved? :)
This leg of travel will be only 4 days so maybe a couple
updates unless encounters come about.
5th Leg - Aratad to Eured - ~140 miles (4-5 days)
6th Leg - Eured to Sheben - ~40 miles (1-2 days)
7th Leg - Sheben to Ticasi- ~40 miles (1-2 days)
So in theory could be in Ticasi city by Dec 19-20?
So what do with poison?
Restocking/City actions?
Next update will be Monday I will start on it probably
Saturday once I hear how long party stays in town for
encounters. The Friday update may not be done though
being Christmas. I suspect folks will be too busy
to react and out of town. We'll see depending on
any encounters. If not don't be surprised if no
update next Friday 12/25.
GM: Breaking News - Sadly we lost Julian aka Zabyra. Some
private issues I will not disclose. I hope he can return
but at this point I will turn her into npc. I may send
her off with Red Shirt in Zara back to Sivas.
GM: IBT results
Arawn - Learned Salaqi at EL40 with 2 ELs. Still continue?
Fremea - Knowledge cast on Dec 3 (I have it noted). Probably
2 more and get what you want. Some herbalist outside
Thaliba learned (8). Luck recasts per sop listed.
Kiet - +1 Horsemanship EL
Unali - +1 Horsemanship You are maxed until I refigure
out new possible ELs. So may want to give me new
IBT for next couple legs of travel. You are very
skilled in horsemanship. Geesh! Ben'dar jealous!
Zabyra - +1 Sword EL. +2 Marentian by hearing it.
Pyan - +9 EL Marentian your EL36 so at 40 your fluent.
If want to change skills let me know. There is little
language issues now. In fact you now speak better
than Zabyra. :)
Z'leyra - Missed the note in the file I guess. No IBT
earned as was maxed end of last leg for Horsemanship
so will need to reset IBT as noted in the last leg
in the file.
Next leg is 4-5 days of Plains travel so if need to
redefine your IBT let me know.
GM: Mana Chart updated - TONS of experience listed for the
spider combat - Unali taking 2 herself is MVP. At
13 CDF those things were tons of free experience.
Though party almost failed due to loses.
Adventure #7 timeline - File updated on time past,
Food and IBT. Food was easy as Z'leyra got the grain
and rations for all. So no issues with food. Keep
in mind next 4-5 days. May need to restock. Keep
in mind selling the horses will lose 3 mounts to carry
things like grain and such.
GM: LAST chance to grab the magical sword if not Kiet gets it.
GM: Spiders
