[New Stuff]
[Sepes 29th, 1634TH]
[Location: City of Samma, Donara]
[Time: 2:56:09 pm - Samma city, Donara]
The party seems that the plan stage is over. Fremea
sits back and considers everything.
Will volunteers, "I will do a sketch of Mavac." He starts
making the sketch.
Kiet watches as he was the closest to see him very up close
and personal. Arawn and Kell also watch the quick design of
the sketch.
Z'leyra speaks up and says, "I would much prefer if we subdue
or knock out the guards rather than kill them. If you KNOW that
your opponent is evil, well go ahead and kill them. But I for
one would regret the killing of any that were innocent. I will
tell Corona of the plan."
Roerick looks to the healer, "the guards know of the slaves.
They do nothing against it. It is known that the Count hired
river pirates and bandits to do recruitment of more slaves. I
would consider that to be evil."
Fremea stands and that seems to be the end of the meeting.
Some go upstairs to gather bags and supplies. Raban climbs
the stairs to gather his own large and heavy bag. He laughs
at Kiet tries to lift it away from his own stash but finds it
way too heavy. "I have stuff I may need inside." Raban
smiles and with one hand lifts the bag and pats the acrobat
on the back.
Outside Fremea watches the nearby street with foot traffic.
This time of day most markets are starting to thin out. Only
those seeking dinner foods might be around. Most of the day's
business has already happened. Yet the city is still bustling
with foot and horse traffic. She watches as people of all
standing from peasants to even some rich dressed folks move by.
All seem oblivious to the blight the idea of slavery brings
down onto this society. She is aware that most know it exists.
But it is the usual thing of the rich leading society and the
rich like their slaves. In order to stop this blight a surgical
cut will have to be made. Fremea shakes her head and knows it
will be a uphill climb to defeat it all. But it is something
to start.
Fremea looks over to see Z'leyra speaking quietly to Corona.
[Time: 3:00:00 pm - Samma city, Donara]
Fremea sees Roerick speaking to two of his men, nodding and
giving some orders. She can sense the man could be a good
leader if he can see beyond the weakness of personal feelings
for slaves he knows. If the enemy knows this they can use it
against him. She watches Roerick approach and smile.
"Okay. We have 11 of us and with me a full dozen as expected.
We have weapons. We have 2 more wagons a few streets away. We
will probably need one of those for the slaves to get back to
town. We have 10 horses aside form the ones on the wagons.
If we chase you with 6 this gives a few for the slaves as well
or for you guys to return. My men are ready now. They are
sharpening weapons as we speak at the wagons." Roerick points
down the street. "It will take us a bit of time to get to the
estate so will need to leave soon."
Etain watches Roerick leave and walks near Fremea. "I
know why you do this. But this should not be a long term
thing. You still have to get your parents. I believe
in you on this. These men here. They can prolong the
fight for you when you leave. Besides. It is their home."
Kell waves to Etain to join Arawn then looks at Fremea. "We
will take the wagon that Raban liberated. In case there is
a big box or such. We'll head to the stables by the north gate
and wait there. I hope after this mess you'll be ready to leave
then?"
Kell mounts up and takes the controls of the wagon. Thanks
to watching Kiet he has a bit of skill in that now. Arawn
sits beside him as Etain gets in the back looking a bit sour.
They soon leave the area.
Raban joins Fremea, "I paid our fees here. I am honestly not one
for much gold so I spend what I get. Ready?"
Fremea nods and walks down the street to the wagons with the
others following.
While walking to the wagons Roerick looks to Raban. "I don't
think we have a ...horse your size. I hope you can walk fast?"
Raban smiles, "actually. This bag here has my special saddle
given to me by a powerful wizard. It makes my ....me less. So
I will not weigh as much. But never fear. I can fly."
That makes Roerick stop in his tracks making Z'leyra slam into
his back. "What?"
"My friends are used to it. But I have magic that helps."
Raban grins and pats his belt. He doesn't explain it is a
natural thing for him due to his birth as a half-ling. That
might just scare them too much. Magic seems to calm more if
they are bright enough.
"I see. Magic is used around here. But most of my men
don't see it much. Being on the farm and such. I'll...
warn them so they know." Roerick shakes his head.
"That would be good as well. Let them know that some might
have other surprises." He glances to Fremea in her dress. "But
they have nothing to fear."
[Time: 3:15:19 pm - Samma city, Donara]
Kell and Arawn end near the moneylenders. "Let's stay a bit and
study the place. I suspect the others will take a hour or so and
we have plenty of time."
[Time: 3:32:23 pm - Samma city, Donara]
Using the road the party with the wagons exit the city on the
west gate. They have no trouble about this at all. The guards
only seem to notice Raban walking behind smiling.
[Time: 3:51:23 pm - Samma city, Donara]
Near the moneylenders Kell yawns. "They get a lot of business.
But I see messengers enter and exit a lot. Looks like they have
a half dozen guards from the walk by I did. It is a small place
though I doubt that is where the loot is. Maybe coins but I
suspect they have a secure warehouse or such. About ready?"
[Time: 3:55:23 pm - Samma city, Donara]
On the road Corona reports to those who understand him that
he has done a overall recon of the estate now only about 2
miles away. He reports there are no one on the roof. The
only thing is a vent and fireplace top. There are at least six
humans on patrol. He has seen a couple near the front gate
enter and exit a small shack. The party figure that to be
the guard shack.
The party figures they can handle this quite easily. But
the wagons come to a stop. The estate is over a set of hills
just out of sight. There is light woods here but not dense
enough. Not much to hide wagons at least.
Roerick nods to Fremea. "Ok. So those going to the rear
and my 5 friends will head now. I've set this up so that
in 20 minutes the wagon with Mavac will move forward. Then
a 5 minutes later the chasers will come. We should head out
now."
Raban looks to Fremea and picks her up. "Let's get you
there before the others." He grins and takes a running leap.
This causes Roerick's men t gap a bit. But soon they are
dedicated enough to remain determined for the mission.
[Time: 3:59:00 pm - Samma city, Donara]
Raban using the side hills flying low among the trees not to be
seen heads to the west side of the estate. Here the woods are
thicker by purpose to give privacy it seems. Raban lands and
Fremea removes her dress.
Nearing the fence Fremea notices something bad. The entire
fence is glowing in her magical sense. Raban throws a limb to
the fence and it starts to spark. Fremea frowns and realizes
the fence is magical and defended. Both don't fear about this
as they can fly. But the allies can not.
Fremea gets closer and notices the shrub is not glowing.
She can see bits of pieces of the fence between the shrubs. There
is no glow there as well. It just seems to be the top foot
or so. Likely to prevent climbing.
Raban looks to Fremea. "Ideas?"
With the others should be walking here in about 10 min. The
wagons will leave at that time and should be here in another 5
or so after that. Then the chase will start. That means those
in the estate will see the wagons in about 12-13 minutes if not
sooner.
[Time: 4:00:00 pm - Samma city, Donara]
Actions? Comments?
Next Update...Friday??
GM: A very short update. I was originally going to start the
combat in this post. But I want folks to see the map
first and post their first minute of actions. Also I
had a ton of logistics to do (movement charts, npc generation,
etc.). Plus Monday a bit of issue so wanted to get this
update a couple days early. Treat this as the Monday update.
It typically in past has taken 3 hours to do a 2 phase
combat. If this is much more I will need to start the
update Wednesday. Since I suspect I will simply not have
time Thursday to start and finish it. So here is the map.
It is the biggest to scale ever. Check it out on the web
site since it seems to show up there for me in IE (I'm told
it shows up all hexes aligned in FF but in my personal FF
it does not due to settings). So if the hexes are not
aligned then your using font or such settings off default.
Emails tend to strip tabs so it will probably mess up
in emails compared to website. If you have questions on
things then ask and I can help clarify. I may have missed
a few things as I worked on this over the last few days
rather than one time so may have mismatched something.
A small update indeed but hours of hours of background and
logistics design. From now on Friday updates will be rough
depending on factors like if get posts late less chance of
update (late being Wednesday afternoon) but if I have time
and get small updates (like non combat ones) then good chance
of updates if posts come in on Thursday. Other factors are
like things I have to do Thursday. Since I work that full
day if I only have 2-3 hours of home time that could limit
chances of getting it out. So don't be worried if no Friday
updates. :)
GM: Timeline -
4:00:00 - Raban/Fremea at E2 on map now. Others are down the
road over the hill about 2.5 miles away.
4:05:00 - Roerick, Z'leyra and 5 others will join Fremea
4:10:00 - Wagons will start moving forward
4:13:00 - Estimated time Wagons will be seen by estate ESTIMATED
4:15:00 - Wagons should get to E1 on Map at this point.
4:15:00 - Combat goes into phase movement stage
GM: Arawn - Your timeline
3:15 - Arrive near moneylender store
3:51 - A bit of recon period
You can do from 3:15 if need be. Once ready for the illusion
it will be time to enter store. I will assume a simple
EL0 Personal illusion of Mavac. Kell will join you and
Etain will stay at the wagon. If you need to do anything
before/after/during let me know. I will stagger your time
with the others but since you will be doing more stuff
overall you can enter store at any point if need be. Let
me know what time you enter store.
Fremea - With electrified fence what now?? Raban could
airlift them or other methods could be done. Now that
you see the map do you leave the others and find a way
in? If so which side of building/window wise. You
can use exact coordinates if need be. I assume a Max
Inviso? If window is locked what then? Looking at
timeline I see you have 15 minutes before if things go
right combat starts. So you can wait for the others to
join or do what you need. Let me know actions wise for
a full minute.
Kiet - I will assume a EL0 Personal illusion of Mavac as well?
Cast at the point when Wagon heads from hill spot.
Mavac can drive and the others can act as body guard (will/
Unali). If it takes 15 to get to gate figure you will have
40 seconds of action before that 1 minute is up. So you
can post dialogues or actions for that time.
Others can post their 1 minute of actions as well.
GM: Rules of Engagement -
Based on what I know of characters I will assume this - if not
let me know otherwise. LTBD - Later to be determined like to
kill. If different let me know.
Player Guards Estate Staff Count/Others
Fremea Kill Knock out/LTBD Knock Out/LTBD
Kiet Kill Knock out/LTBD Knock Out/LTBD
Raban Kill Knock out/LTBD Subdue
Unali Knock Out Knock Out/LTBD Subdue
Will Kill Kill Subdue
Z'leyra LTBD Knock Out/LTBD Subdue
GM: Tasks to do -
* Find mysterious Mage - Upcoming updates
* Sell loot if possible Upcoming Updates
GM: Maps -
Emails will probably mess up maps. I've tested this map
in my IE and its perfect. In Firefox though since I
use custom screen stuff (fonts, etc.) it messes up badly.
So use a browser that has little custom settings or better
use default settings.
Once inside I can do a zoomed version (just the box map
of the home. Keep in mind bushes, shrubs, trees and such
are not shown as it would be too cluttered. Assume the
fence is dotted all around with shrubs and trees. Plenty
of cover. If you need to go to a particular hex spot then
give the column and row #s in that order. Most characters
tend to have a 3 PMR (3 hexes). So can use this for a single
phase (3 seconds).

80% on first floor are open, 30% on second floor open with no
curtains (open being no curtains not actually physically open).
Rear hallway/building has NO windows. If you need to know exact
window status ask with coordinated.
Front Gate = 12 feet wide large 12 foot two sided heavy metal gate
that could probably take a mild siege weapon a half hour to break.
Interwoven/interlaced metal but art-like functional gate.
Both sides open inward toward estate (north) allowing a wagon
to enter if need be.
Shed - Simple metal alloy 6 foot tall shed (no windows)

dirt path this is about 250' feet to the gate.
E2 - Entry Point where Fremea, Raban are now.
