[Recap]
From Z'leyra: [Re: Actions]
Z'leyra will welcome those who wish to, to stay at her manor.
One of her ideas is to get what is needed for a trip to the
Kameran. The trip will likely start via teleport. we have two
weeks till we leave to make our preparations.
One of the things needed will be food...for that she plans to
make a lot of waybread...buying discounted food before farmers
and fishermen leave at the end of the day's market she will be
using Foyson Theft and dumping the remnants in the sea. The
flour will be used to make waybread.
GM: Ack. We need to sit and define how many beds you have
in the manor. As to food people are easy rations solve
that it is the horses that do not eat this waybread
stuff or would survive on it. This is where Hay or
oats is needed thus a wagon. Since most of travel will
be on plains might not be much grass due to winter.
From Z'leyra: [Re: Actions]

From Kell: [Re: Actions]
Kiet just beat Kell to the punch asking this question. He
grins and tips his hat at the acrobat. Waiting on the
location of the teleport.

From Mark: [Re: Village map]
Great, thanks. Guessing it is the one in Caladan's Village.
The others seem too far away, especially the Dark Lands. Now
I can plan.
GM: Ack. There might be a different one but more dangerous.
From Pyan: [Re: Actions]
After Pyan is teleported he says, "I think I'm..." He then ...
GM: Ack. Hope not too upset with the joke. :) Now you've been
initiated. :)

[New Stuff]
[Sivas, Marentia]
[Decalis 24th, 1634TH]
After Pyan is teleported he checks his body for missing
fingers and then his pants then nods. "I think I'm..." He
then vomits. "oh, I'm ok now."
Z'leyra helps him and explains the longer the distance
a port goes causes issues. Some lose breath some lose
their stomach. Some have seen black stars in their eyes
for a small bit. But it should fade quickly.
----------
[Decalis 25th, 1634TH]
[Time: 7:54 am]
Now that everyone is back in town the party decides to meet
up for one final briefing so plans can be made. Cholan's
tavern is suggested. So a breakfast is planned. The last
of the people to come Arawn and Kiet join them at the tavern.
Z'leyra reminds everyone her manor is good place to stay
if they wish to. But some have their own places. Unali
has her own place in Maren city though to the north.
Cholan welcomes the group back and is curious on what
Z'leyra found out but does not ask directly. The 2 new
people did stay at her manor the night before. If anything
to keep an eye out on her.
Z'leyra says to the party. "Plan on us leaving by Teleport
on Janaqa 8th. I have preparations to make and I am sure that
many of you do as well. Those that don't are welcome to laze a
round."
Kiet asks, "teleport to where? And how far away? We need to
know so we can target our preparations."
As Kell munches on a nice strip of bacon he nods and lifts
his mug of juice as he was about to ask the same thing.
Z'leyra responds, "as close to the Kameran border as the
teleport can take us. Since I don't know how close that is...
well I would guess that the closest spot known to be teleported
to is in Zen'da lands."
"We are teleporting to the north-western edge of Zen-da?
Will we be riding on the edge of the plains the rest of the
way? Where's a map?"
Cholan overhears and suggests Cetric's village which is
on the plains. Arawn already has a teleport circle there.
While the Zen'da are nomadic the village is static due
to the center of the tribe.
With the decision to translocate to Cetric's village made
Arawn turned his thoughts to the rest of the journey.
"The plains should pose no problem for the horses, though
wagons could get tricky if mud, snow and ice choose to confound
us. But the latter might be solved with attachable pieces to
turn the wagons into sleds. But I'm concerned about the horses
once we reach the foothills of Kameran.
Z'leyra, assuming a road or pass exists, do you know if
winter conditions will affect pass ability? As well as how
difficult this would be for the horses?"
"If it seems too dangerous it might be good to speak with
Cetric ahead of time to see if any of the tribe's warriors
might be willing to guide the horses back to the village until
our return while we continue on foot."
Z'leyra responds with a bit of disbelief, "roads? Wagons? In
the Zen'da plains or the Kameran? Sorry, I doubt that they exist
anywhere near the route we will be taking. Trails, perhaps."
Arawn grimaces a bit.
"I had a feeling. If a suitable pass exists through the
hills and mountains we can drive wagons through. If not we'll
need to abandon them unless, on some off chance, one of the
Zen'da warriors knows how to drive one and is willing to
accompany and then drive it back.
I'm thinking more and more that Zen'da horses might be our
best option. They've already acclimated to the local weather
and hardships of long travel. Plus, if some warriors join us,
they can be herded home without us having to worry about
translocating them afterwards. What do you think?"
"Will it even be possible to buy some horses from them?
That is a fairly rare option for the Zen'da. They hold their
horses close."
Cholan comes back to the table with fresh biscuits.
He leans over to Unali. "Farseeker just missed you
for your birthday party. I shipped his present to
your manor in Maren. He regrets missing you by just
a few hours."
Cholan then stands and looks at party, "Caladan is
at his own place near Ben'dar's in Maren. It is
his village after all if you need him. I hear Chion
is back as well but only briefly. He is at his place
here in town. Been a few days since saw him. But I
think he may return to the village for more study or
leave elsewhere soon."
Actions? Comments?
Next Update....Monday...
GM: A very brief update. I have/had issues with my ftp for
the game site so that took a chunk of time to work on
today and I still need to tweak it. So I did not
go into great detail for this update sorry.
GM: A LOT of things have to be considered before IBT is
done.
* Unali - will you return to Maren? If so need to
get with folks before Jan 8.
* If new wagon/horses need to figure out how to
get them moved.
Cetric for those who don't recall from Adventure #2
tried to kill the party as he was the head Shaman
for the Ga'felora. Lucky for folks they passed
their tests. Zen'da are nomads and cherish their
horses and land. But the party did earn a 'pass'
to enter the lands without being attacked. At least
the old players did.
GM: Teleport options.
* Salaqara/Farm - Arawn can use Silo but not for horses.
Only problem is riding north from this city is in
dangerous land. Technically this is the closest
but the dangers are high for the first leg of
travel until get to plains.
* Cetric's - I assume this village is best bet. Other
options include Vassa, Dark Lands but they are
a bit too far away for pre-set teleport areas.
GM: Assuming Cetric then decisions will need to be made
on horses and/or wagons. If wagons are taken for food
they could be shipped ahead of time. Then just a basic
teleport to the village is needed to get the horses
and supplies then. Just a suggestion.
GM: Distances:
Sivas to Village by Land:
Path Hexes Distance
Sivas to Maren [Road] 12 240 miles
Maren to Cholchara [Road] 9 180 miles
Road to Marentia Fort 3.5 70 miles
Option-to Ba'ru City 3 60 miles
Fort to Village [Plain] 21 420 miles
Option: Ba'ru to Village 23 460 miles
Total: 910-950Miles depending on Ba'ru visit
Sivas to Village by water
River to Village 31 620 miles
River to Village 5 100 miles
Total: 720 Miles
Village to Kameran border (roughly)
Zen'da Plains to Border 43 860 miles
These are rough estimates and I may be off a few
hexes. These are various options.
So let's say ship wagon/horses by barge up river.
So let's assume a simple barge doing 10-20 miles
per day. Might even do more with good winds. Let's
assume 15 on average. That's 40 days. Ok. So shipping
ahead of time may not be a good option. :)
How about going to Ba'ru and getting supplies there?
Wagons? Horses? That is the closest large city to
the village. If prepare is done at start of IBT and
say a person ships those items (wagon/horses from Ba'ru)
to village then would need only cross 460 miles.
At 25 per day would be 19 days. Almost in the IBT
time period.
As GM I'm only trying to cover options. You guys have
to do some serious logistics to decide. Mainly the
horses and/or wagon/food. To fit within the 2 weeks.
Above there are some option as well. Chion if in town
could be swayed to help as he could probably teleport
2-3 wagons in one jump.
GM: IBT - You guys can work on it. For those who are worried
on bringing their own horses may need to figure out
the details above first. Once done let me know what
you want to do. Some like Kell and Kiet already
sent in things. Are those final guys or need to tweak
them? For those who do not depend on taking their horse
and such can do it whenever. Once I finish every IBT
we'll move on.
Once everyone is on plains it will be relatively safe.
The 'passes' will allow travel. Once into the
forests south of Kameran it will be more risky. I
suspect even sentries will only be need to be a single
person on the plains.
Once leave Marentia there are no roads.
With issue with ftp program was delayed but rushed this out. But the
last 3 posts form Kiet, KEll and Arawn could not add. Sorry. Next update!
