[Recap]
From Z'leyra: [Re: Actions]
Turning to the dwarf Z'leyra will use sign language and...
GM: Ack.
From Arawn: [Re: Actions]
"Taking things [from the Dae'ta Koti?] I've not figured...
Not sure what you're trying to tell me here. Waluf had
said he'll pass this way when he returns to the village so
Arawn asked if he can skin or defang the snake then. Unless
someone else speaks up to indicate a possible complication I
assume this shouldn't be a problem, correct?
Training others:
Assuming the players were still trying to wrap things up I
believe Arawn was training...
Kell - training him in Jeweler skill. The last day this
occured should have been Janaq 6th. Kell, did you want/need
further training?
Z'leyra - had expressed interest in learning Healing Mist.
Z, I can't recall if you learned the spell yet but if you're
still looking for training let us know.
SoP and other questions:
[This sop more stuff?... You doing stuff on the trip?...
Then you say offer something up....]:
Sorry, I'm a bit confused by the response. I'm guessing
it's mainly because I included some IBT stuff at the bottom
which I forgot to remove.
'Additional SOP' - additional to what I've already listed on
my SoP list. The winter weather is a perfect time for Arawn
to practice Ice House and Ice Bridge, especially should
something happen and the increased EL's prove handy later.
But I'll remind you regarding Ice Bridge at the next river
as requested:)
The latter part, regarding Ruby and spear training was
meant to be deleted as I moved that info to my IBT response.
[You doing stuff on the trip?] - not sure what you mean
by this
[Then you say offer something up and I need to know
definites] - not sure what you're referring to. If it's in
regards to Arawn paying a PC to train him, easy, if a player
responds in a post that they'll train Arawn the two of us can
negotiate a deal and then we'll let you know our agreed upon
payment. If no one replies, which seems the case at the
moment, then just assume Arawn is training on his own.
Water Powers:
I'm guessing you're referring to lowering the water levels.
That would be the Flood spell which can lower or raise water
levels, which fits with your Moses comment:)
Healing:
Thanks for the clarification. So as you just need PC's to
indicate how they prefer to be healed...
Arawn will heal himself when able. He'll start by treating
with Healer (Elf) skill. Then, if he's got 6 or fewer hp to
heal, he'll cast God's Eyes at max EL followed by Healing at
max EL (using the Sidh Tongue to boost). If he has more than
6 hp to heal he'll instead cast Healing Mist (using the Sidh
Tongue) when the situation allows for him to safely do so.
If he's asked to heal others he'll start with Healer
(Elf) skill when applicable followed by God's Eyes at max
EL and Healing Hand at max EL (if they have 8 or less hp to
heal). If they need more healing than this or if 2 or more
players need healing from him he'll instead use Healing Mist
at max EL (using the Sidh Tongue)
Ceremony:
[Edited after pm's with Scott...]
With Cetric's permission Arawn had performed a simple ...
Wand:
For future encounters, Arawn would keep this where he could
reach it at a moments notice, so not in the bag. It's a tool
that aids in combat and he'd treat it as a weapon, something
that should be near at hand. If you decide a sheath is needed
for this then Arawn will Transmute some nearby wood or stone
into one until he can find the time to permanently craft or
buy one - just let me know.
Unali, the griffins, and the Dwarf:
With the griffins dealt with Arawn turned his attention...
"Thank you and hello," he called out to the dwarf in...
----------
When the time came to tend to the corpses of the griffin
the alfar, recalling the last encounter with such creatures,
decided to take initiative and gather some of the fallen feathers.
"If anyone's up for it and not claiming it for themselves,...
GM: Ack. Sure he can skin but probably not defang for safety.
But skinning means nothing if can't find him or the skin.
I mean to ask if he would is one thing. To Plan to get
said items or actually say one would do is another. Those
what if thens. :) Maybe take this and maybe that. Why
its hard to work with possibles not definites. :) As to
training can't do much without the info from Kell and such.
He seems awol again. :< But IBT is well over so that
training is gone. So its now mini IBT. Keep in mind
what I said on that earlier doing realistic IBT on a horse.:)
SOP: Hmmm. Yeah its confusing. The IBT I posted on the
site for folks who actually posted it. If its different
or needs changing you can let me know. :) Stuff on trip
means the mini IBT as I posted before. Old IBT is gone
and dead. Definites: In past you've done things like IF
this then do that and such and this. Which is fine for
say a combat now thing. But if its long term which might
cover months of our time then its hard to track and follow
on changes months later. So once one thing is decided
to do then do it. If you say you may cast a spell then
do it or not. As Yoda says. :) More or less. It
just speeds things up for everyone to do this. Understand?
I'm old so tend to lose notes and such from something
months ago and so its best to decide then and there on
actions. :) Flood spell. Gotcha. With over 500 spells
its hard to memorize it all. I figured it was to only
raise the water. Healing: There are those IFs. :) Means
more notes and such. But I'll keep it in mind. I'll add
a note to your sheet to refer back to this update. :)
But could just say at time of the damage do this and
that. :) Not picking on you just in a pbem its a lot of
extra work. Ceremony will include in this update. Wand:
So where will this 2 foot wand be placed? Its simple
wood so if you had fallen into the river it might've
been destroyed. Thus why its best to be in the bag
for that situation. In combat since its a simple wood
it can be broken easy. Just keep this in mind. If still
want it at hand let me know where. Feathers is not definite
so how much is 'some'. :) 1, 2, 300? That last comment
IF not claiming is a IF then so that's an example if you
wait for others to do stuff it can take weeks. This is why
most just do whatever they want. :) Ceremony: Blessing
on entire village? I'll have to back track the mana now
as I figured that was weeks ago. I'll have to reconfigure
the mana. But blessing a village? Not sure one can do
that but I'll check.
From Wout: [Re: Site/List]
This is primarily a test to check whether everyting is back
online, and a notification that I have added loads of material
to the website. Everything AH published and my backlog on
player submitted material has now been added.
Enjoy.
If anyone finds broken links, missing material or has any
suggestions to improve the site, feel free to comment.
GM: Ack. Great to hear it! Ever consider a Version page?
Showing what was added bullet style with a date so
folks can see what was new? But you have done such
a great site for this group of ours so I like others
must say we appreciate it.
From Wout: [Re: List]
Just ignore, other than (when you read this) that this
means the list is back online.
GM: Ack. Great. You are also back in game. No need to
catch up. Chion transported you and you 'caught' up
with the group. :)
From David: [Re: List]
Awesome sauce!
Thanks so much for keeping that site open. I love it and
use it quite a bit.
GM: Ack. You got that form Brady Bunch right? Seems like they
used that expression.

[New Stuff]
[Janaq 8th, 1635TH]
[Zen'da Eastern Plains - Cetric's Village]
[Time: Afternoon]
With Cetric's permission Arawn had performed a simple
blessing, leaving greater ceremony behind to avoid upsetting
the villagers sensibilities. And unlike most he was aware of
the great power inherent to the site and the great
responsibility taken up the shaman, taking extra care to
respect such. He stuck to traditional Zen'da tools - the
plants found on the plains, the breath of wind and purity of
fire, among other things - to keep the blessing simple and
familiar to the village. His prayer to Payan was spoken
beneath his breath, in the eldest of tongues, as he asked for
his father's hand to help see the village through the harshness
of winter.
It was only once away from the village that he resorted to
a fuller ceremony, focused on the party, in particular
Z'leyra. She had chosen a time of stark challenge. Most would
say she was perhaps a bit mad but to those who understood the
realm of Ice it allowed one to test their strength and where
simple truth would be layed bare. And it was truth that the
shaman sought.
Arawn stood in the center of a circle formed from those
in attendance. Dressed in druid attire he held a bowl in his
hands, filled with water blessed thrice-over by the touch of
sunlight, dawn to just before dusk, with pine cones and leaves
of holly nestled at the bottom. The strength of summer and
the power of winter rested within the humble vessel over which
the druid began to pray. He spoke, first in the primal language
of the Sidh before moving on to the susurrant sibilation of the
Wood. As he did so he moved clockwise about the gathering,
holding the bowl to the sky at each cardinal location. Held in
one hand was a switch of pine with which he sprinkled the holy
water upon the assembled.
"Hail, the Ice Warrior! Hail, the Marshal of the Wild! Hail,
the seeker of justice, great Payan! Bless this water and
those touched by it that they might be blessed by your hand.
While the land prepares to slumber, when cold and ice bring
others to a halt, you walk the land in untouched strength.
Grant to these people your strength and wisdom to see us
through this season.
And as you seek justice for the ancient wrongs I implore you
to guide the shamaness, Z'leyra, as she seeks the same for
suffering and wrongs laid against her. Grant us the strength
to make it through snow and ice, hardened by winter's embrace
so that we might help her. And may her goal resonate with you
that she might walk in your footsteps, walking a path blazed
by you, most high Payan!"
As Arawn does this, Kiet notices a white dove flying west
toward the setting sun.
----------
---------
[Janaq 15th, 1635TH]
[Zen'da Eastern Plains - River Sich edge]
[Time: 7:15 am]
Kiet moves toward the downed Griffin.
Kiet makes a fist with his right hand and says "Yessss!" In
his native tongue. He draws his Tulwar and begins to head out
to his target to retrieve his javelin.
"Someone needs to check out the other griffin. I'll check
out this one." He indicates the last one to drop. He heads
out to it on foot and as quickly as his legs can carry him.
Fremea turns toward the river and moves over to the first
griffin down. She notices the creature is causing bubbles
in the water so assumes it is still alive. She draws her dagger
and lands on his sinking back and stabs it to end the last
bit of life from it. It soon sinks below the water and moves
with the current as Fremea takes back to the sky.
The Dwarf cleans his throwing axe of grass then tucks it back
into his belt. He notices the strange woman on her horse with
now a hand on her dagger. He sees the newcomer arrive who seems
way too eager to use that dagger she's fingering and pulls out
his mace, and readies his shield.
Feet apart in a battle stance the dwarf then growls at Unali.
Kiet arrives at the dead griffin which is only about 10
feet away landing nearby from the group.
Kiet checks the griffin for signs of life by poking it with
his tulwar, shield ready. If he's satisfied it's dead he will
attempt to recover the javelin. Once done, he checks it for
damage but finds none. He also retrieves whatever arrows might
have survived that fall. He also grabs a small number of wing
feathers...selecting and plucking six of the finest, and place
them in his pack.
Arawn knows the creature in the river is lost but the one
near Kiet is a nice find. He explains out loud to the
others. "If anyone's up for it and not claiming it for
themselves, could someone gather up some of the mane and
feathers. I'll help as I can but I'm no master at this."
Satisfied this creature will bother no one ever again, he
sheaths his sword and heads back to the group.
When Kiet returns, and sees the dwarf, he leans over to
Kell and says in Katai "What the hell is that....that
thing!?"
Z'leyra moves to a angle so the dwarf can see her and
to watch in case the dwarf likes to attack Unali. The
dwarf continues to growl but glances at Z'leyra.
Turning to the dwarf Z'leyra will use sign language and also
speak saying "Hello. I am pleased to meet you. I am Z'leyra."
She will repeat this in several languages till he shows signs
of understanding what she says. Zen'dali; Marentian; Tongue of
the Sidh; Salaqi; Donaran; Kameri; Vassa.
The Dwarf's face contorts which for him is a big change as
he seems to have that same look to him. The expression is
like 'what the hell is that?'. When she gets around to
Zendali, the dwarf perks up a bit, visibly relax some, but
will respond with "My name is Dorhak."
Z'leyra smiles and introduces the party including the
woman on the horse as Unali and as a friend. Dorhak glances
from Unali to Z'leyra and growls for several long seconds.
Then lowers his mace.
But Dorhak continues to keep an eye on the stranger with
her hand on her dagger. "I'm from south of here."
The dwarf seems to roll his eyes at the assumption he is
from the mountains - so stereotypical of humans. "I just go
around now." He seems to grasp at some things in his mind
and continues, "...wandering around now...no specific
direction. Can't really go back to mountains yet...but would
prefer to head south, toward Ba'Ru. Perhaps saw one of their
weapons and thought he would try his luck there to learn more."
Kell after getting a rough translation perks up at this.
With the griffins dealt with Arawn turned his attention to
the newly arrived. Normally he would have made a bee-line to
the dwarf, the druid always quick to bring strangers to ease
but this time another drew the focus of his attention.
Arawn moves near the dwarf and studies Unali for some time.
He can sense hostile intent in her bearing and confusion of
what is going on. But it doesn't take a Elf to notice this
as anyone in the party can sense this.
"Thank you and hello," he called out to the dwarf in the
Elder Tongue, hoping the stranger would understand. (If the
dwarf doesn't seem to understand he'll repeat in Faerry Sidh
followed by Marentian and Zen'da). He gave a warm smile, his
demeanor quite approachable, and his hands empty. He waved at
the dwarf and gave a nod as he moved past him to speak with
Unali.
"I'm surpised that you found us so quickly but glad that
you did," he told the warrioress. His eyes betrayed a sense
of concern for the woman, his sharp senses detecting
something stirring beneath the surface. "Is everything okay?"
Dorhak turns to Arawn sniffs and hawk a lugi...
After greeting the dwarf and waiting for Unali to
approach Z'leya will explain about the proposed route to the
Kameran. Basically West North West, crossing the lands of the
Fel'masa, the Thalib River and the lands of the E'ponischa till
we get to the end of some hills and to the River Dirlla. After
crossing that we head north into Kameran lands.
Fuk leans to Lucria, "Did she just invite that ..thing with
us? Do you see a horse? Does he just run fast? He isn't
riding on mine. I can smell him from here."
Lucria nods to the whispers and agrees.
Unali seems to relax but only slightly as she listens
to Arawn. But she still eyes the dwarf.
Actions? Comments?
Next Update..Friday??
GM: It is near 11pm and I barely started update. So I'm
too tired to do more but we are at a good point to stop
for now. I'll wait for reactions from Unali/Dorhak.
My vacations start Thursday so I will work on next update
Thursday afternoon (noon EST). So if any reactions get
them in by then. I'll try to finish update by that
night.
Still too tired to do the experience from the combat.
So will try tomorrow for next update.
GM: Kiet - So six feathers. Ack.
Arawn: Mane/Feathers? How many/much and who will get it
if you do not? I like the role playing for the
ceremony!
GM: Welcome to a new player - Dorhak the Dwarf. From this
point that player will control him. Welcome!
