[Recap]
From Z'leyra: [Re: Actions]
Z'leyra will ask her uncle to keep the painting until...
She tells the party "The money made by transporting ...
If asked Z'leyra will tell Kell that unenhanced carbuncle has
no magical value, but enhanced it darkens if someone with the
wearer attempts to poison them, doubles one's natural resistance
to Fascination spells and increases resistance to disease...
though if wearer nonetheless get disease the stone darkens and
becomes useless. She doesn't know of any magical properties for
the carnelion.
GM: Ack. Kell might have to find you guys first then he can
ask. It will be interesting to see.
From Kell: [Re: Actions]
[ ok good - thanks for refining the spell. No need to delay
the post, you understood what he was trying to find. ]
[Moving past moneylender, as Kell would love to work with him
to bankrupt the Smiths.. sigh]
---- >[Time: 1:06 pm]
Kell will purchase enough vials to fill all the holders. Waste
not, want not. The open spaces he'll fill with other types of
vials too, just to cover all the bases. Whatever he has
available. [It just isn't clear if Kell is filling all 20
slots. If so, great, nothing to do.]
-------------
> [Time: 1:21 pm]
"I will be back, I need to discuss these with a friend ...
---------------------
Kell thanks Z'Leyra, and heads back to the gem merchant. If
he can get a good price, he will purchase both and a small set
of basic tools so he can (very poorly) work the gem to
usefulness. If not, he will purchase the cheaper of the two
stones.
GM: Ack. Detection can be way OP (over powered) as they
say in game terms (pc). So to balance it I have to
refine it better. Otherwise it could be 'detect the
great solution to Riddle X', 'detect that one book
I need to find in this library of 1000 books' or 'detect
every secret door I see'. It spoils things a bit too
easily and so needs to be refined. 'detect scrolls that
have the X language so I can solve or try to solve that
riddle.' or 'Detect for the Tome of Blood by detecting
the blood ink it was made in so detect blood.' or 'Detect
all doors and hatches.' So making it a bit more balanced. :)
As to seller can always come back or talk to him by mail
as I outlined in email. Since you posted this and CCed
it to email I did the email first so response on vials in
email. Basically folks can see any of the Vials in the
gear section for v2 book 1. Basically there are glass,
porcelan and pottery vials. This is the global types
but some rare things there might be 'magical glass' or
'magical pottery' or 'leather vials' or some such stuff.
For folks there are Flasks as well in the gear section one
could look at. As to talking to Z not have done that
yet so will depend on if you can find the group.
From Z'leyra: [Re: Actions]
Z'leyra says "The trail is old, very old, but potentially...
GM: Ack.
From Kell: [Re: Actions]
Listening to the option of more Akasha spells, Ha'Kell ...
GM: Ack. Above is likely not done since you left the group
it will be hours possibly before you meet up with them
again and thus would not be a quick response like above.
This is the issue with separating at times. :<
From Z'leyra: [Re: Actions]
Z'leyra nods "You are correct. But I would still like to...
GM: Ack. Again a response to Kell that may never happen.
From Z'leyra: [Re: Actions]
Z'leyra respnds to Kiet "Sorry. I was just trying ...
GM: Ack. Hmm No email/post from Kiet..hmmm.
From Kell: [Re: Actions]
[First, it seems we missed a post from Kiet. Was it direct
and only to Alex?]
"Not visiting Sivas is fine, there is no reason for me to ....
GM: Ack. I guess he'll post the email/post later. But a
reply to a bit of talk you weren't around to hear. :<
From Kiet: [Re: Actions]
I keep forgetting to send it to the group. When I hit reply...
it goes to the individual.
Shame on me. It's very Israel-lien of me...
GM: Ack. Yeah I have times I do that with Kell's emails since
I have to usually reply all since he wants me to send to
two emails. I tend to forget. :<
From Kiet: [Re: Actions]
Kiet is a bit annoyed at the casual way these people are...
GM: Ack. Basic rule of teleporting is ONE inclusion is a normal
adult male (~250 pounds or so). So doing horses are typically
2-3 'inclusions'. Maybe even more. For Raban at least he
counts as 4. Arawn has transmuted horses in the past but
that does take some energy.
From Arawn: [Re: Actions]
Arawn, seemingly distracted with the burden of thought,..
"I can translocate the horses. It might take a handful...
GM: Ack.
From Arawn: [Re: Actions]
Unless Kell is trying to practice his Jeweler Skill on
the stones Arawn is willing to cut them or assist/train him.
Kell would likely have seen Arawn working on stones during
their time together and have a sense that the alfar is an
expert jeweler.
GM: Ack. Laws of Magic. If you work on the jewels he'll not
be able to do more work on it/ie cast magic. Remember one
must 'build' or craft the item from virgin material.
From Arawn: [Re: Actions]
Arawn gave an approving nod in regards to Kell's...
GM: Another conversation might not happen. Gotta remember.
Kell left around what 130ish? Was still gone when
party went to Writing school. Thus way separated.
No cell phones so finding each other is hard. So
this all will be moot if not meet up.
From Kiet: [Re: Actions]
Kiet gets a very thoughtful look on his face, which should
frighten even the most stout of heart. He says "You know...
GM: Ack.
From Kell: [Re: Actions]
Ha'Kell thinks for a few quick, very quick, moments. "Our..
GM: Ack. We'll see if I can add this in. :)
From Kell: [Re: Actions]
After looking at a map, Kell has another idea. "We...
[OOC - on those gems. Hold off on anything, as once the
travel is decided that affects the decision to buy or not]
GM: Ack. Oh? No gems? Now I gotta recall the price I quoted
in email. Let me know what you decide.
From Kiet: [Re: Actions]
"It's mainly to rest and resupply, I would think. Also,..
GM: Ack.
From Kell: [Re: Actions]
Kell responds, "Ah ok, thank you. I was thinking of..
GM: Ack.
From Kiet: [Re: Actions]
Kiet wonders about those conditions as well. He hasn't...
"We might do well to prepare our belongings for the ...
OOC...I'm talking about the Eye Powers...Infinite Sight. Then
we might be able to fare better fighting at night and not be
quite so helpless... at least us pitiable, simple humans.
GM: Ack. And ruin a FUN ambush? Geesh.
From Pyan: [Re: Horse]
Pyan speaks his displeasure at the thought of leaving his horse.
GM: Ack. You are free to actually voice your opinion and MUCH more.
We treat it just like a book. Dialogue uses "quotes". To
paraphrase like you did above is fine but not literal role
playing. Feel free to expand on things like this we hope
to see you doing more soon. Look at folks like Kiet he was
quiet at first with 1-2 lines of text now hes post-happy
and does tons of stuff. :) I do keep in mind actual role
playing in the game and award stuff. I love player doing
introspections as well. I usually do them once they are
known to me well. But for you I don't know you well enough.
These are inner thoughts of the character so folks can relate
to them better.

[New Stuff]
[Ticasi]
[Decalis 24th, 1634TH]
[Tiren's place]
[Time: 12:32 pm]
Uncle Hammerhand asks Z'leyra if she would like to take
the painting.
Z'leyra will ask her uncle to keep the painting until
matters are settled.
Arawn moves to study the painting and frame carefully
either fascinated by the magic or the style. He replays
the images at least twice in a full cycle. He studies
the pictures in depth.
Hammerhand nods, "I understand. This place will be gone
in a couple days I assume. I didn't feel like it should
be moved till then. It was the last bastion of this place
that tired Tiren to his family. I will take it to my
place and you are free to pick it up if and when you
return here."
Z'leyra nods and begins to pace the floor waiting for
the messengers to return. She recalls the funds from
the gold and the looks wondering if she was keeping
the full amount or not.
Z'leyra tells the party. "The money made by transporting
bullion will continue to go towards paying all of our expenses.
Room, board et cetera. I guess I will hang on to it, though if
you need some just talk to me."
The Chief and bounty hunter exchange looks of interest
on hearing about gold being carried. But they remain
silent in confusion.
[Market - Gem Shop]
[Time: 1:21 pm]
Kell glances at the jewels. He is not a Jeweler at
all like the other wizards. He took skills for blacksmith
and armorer making over the shiny skill of Jeweler. So
he needs to learn all that and the basics on gems later on.
He glances up at the clerk who has seen this type of
response before.
"I will be back, I need to discuss these with a friend of
mine. It won't take long." Kell will go and ask Z'leyra
about the two gems and their possible powers.
The clerk shrugs, "fine. If someone comes in and offers
me coin...they are gone." He goes to clean some glass
cases with a rag. Quietly he knows these students for
over 20 years. They come from the Jewel and Magic schools
and think they'll be the best. Yet he has to hear that
at least 45% of these student craftsmanship becomes useless
as gems are destroyed and such. But as long as there
are schools he knows he has a steady business. He just
hopes those ships from Teos would arrive faster.
Kell leaves store and mounts up on his horse to continue
some shopping. He will then after shopping head to the
Inn or Tiren's place to see if the party is still there.
[Tiren's home]
[Time: 1:57 pm]
Kell arrives at Tiren's place, now Hammerhands and finds
Hammerhand still inside. He explains Z'leyra got nervous
and wanted to do something so left to do more spells. But
he is unclear of where they went to. Kell nods and decides
to try the Inn.
[Party's Inn]
[Time: 2:08 pm]
Kell arrives and ties up his horse and enters. He
checks the rooms but finds them empty. He decides to
head downstairs to wait for the party wondering what
fun they have been up to.
[Writing School]
[Time: 2:17 pm]
Z'leyra and the Chief Constable exits the school and
everyone can see the grim face of Z'leyra.
Z'leyra says, "the trail is old, very old, but potentially
followable though the use of Akasha spells. I figure that I
will attempt to follow via going to crossroads on the most
likely roads followed afterwards.
Thus time is NOT of the essence. I figure we shall follow the
trail a ways out of town, find a place to keep our horses for a
few weeks then teleport back to Sivas. A few weeks later we, or
myself and those that wish to help me, can teleport back, get
our horses and continue following the trail. Though if she
stayed in wolf form she wouldn't have stayed on the roads."
The chief crosses his arms clearly not happy on this new
plan. "I was told we would be leaving much sooner than
this and to find your sister. Following trails with magic
could be very time consuming when the primary place I was
told she would be is in those Kameran lands where she as I
was told would NOT have left. Now we are to follow some
magical trail out in the wilderness? I'll have to let
the court know of our delays."
Kiet looks around at the group of friends and new strangers
all except Kell who is off shopping.
Kiet is a bit annoyed at the casual way these people are
with their horses. He doesn't really hide that fact. "I don't
intend to abandon my horses, especially Ma Siwang! It took
much luck and effort to acquire her."
"We obviously cannot go overland north from here, not with it
still being winter and the Elder Mountains between us. That
would be suicide. So, can whoever provides the teleport do so
in a way to bring all my horses back? I think it would be
unwise to go north thru Zen'da land without strong horses."
Z'leyra resposnds to Kiet, "sorry. I was just trying to
accommodate what I feel is some folks desire for speed. And
some mentioned wanting to go back to Sivas. I don't think that
speed will make any difference at this late date. I personally
have no objections to going via horseback. Nor do I NEED to
go back to Sivas and if I did I could teleport or use Astral
Paths on my own."
"Depending on the skill of the caster Teleportation may be
able to take a horse, but unlikely to be able to take more than
one unless the caster is perhaps the best at teleportation there
has ever been. Most, I included, wouldn't be able to, but I know
others in the party are far more skilled at teleportation than
I. While I have learned the basics of the Astral Paths spell I
have never yet actually cast it thus it would be a little slow
and encounters while using it could be very hazardous."
"So perhaps we should have those that will go back to
Marentia do so and arrange a meeting spot and time to hook up
with those that come back? To do so we will have to decide
whether we are crossing the Zen'da plains or going up the River
Dirla. Anyone a particular friend, or enemy, of the Zen'da?"
The bounty pales at the thought of teleporting sounds a bit
like a wild ride downhill on a snow slope.
The chief waves a hand, "speed? This is a two..actually
2.5 year old trail. Its not like things will matter if
we capture this suspect tomorrow or next week. We will find
the suspect as that is my primary mission. going to these
lands you speak of is one thing if needed as long as we do
not waste time. I do have a family here."
Z'leyra watches the folks pass by outside the Writing school.
She feels annoyed by these 2 men. But she suspects they
serve a multi purpose objective. She has little choice but
to accept or things could've been far worse than being let free.
Arawn, seemingly distracted with the burden of thought,
found his attention drawn back to the present when Kiet spoke -
less by his words than the emotional energy generated.
"I can translocate the horses. It might take a handful of
trips but I should be able to do it in a day. And to address
Z'leyra's concerns on speed, I'm in no hurry, though I'll
accommodate those who are. Just let me know the plan once
you've decided on it."
Kiet gets a very thoughtful look on his face, which should
frighten even the most stout of heart. He says, "you know...if
Z's sister is a shaman as well, where was her drum? I mean, no
shaman would take such a long journey without that item."
"I'm sorry to say that from the beginning, my suspicions
about your sister..." Kiet motions toward Z'leyra, "...were
that she might have done it, and killed your father either in
jealousy or by order. Now I hear and see enough to doubt that
to some extent. Your other sister dead in an 'accident' was
only the beginning."
"So, Z'leyra, is there anybody back home that really wants to
see harm come to you and your family? Maybe they just wanted
their secret kept in the Kameran? Maybe they were damaged by
the situation that allowed your father to see and learn the
secret to their metal and only now does their revenge take
form."
The two new strangers glance at Z'leyra and read her face
hearing the acrobat speak curious of her answer. To the
others they know drums are only one focus. Cetric the
Shaman in Caladan's village had a focus that was a wolf
necklace of teeth since he also was a Wolf shaman.
Z'leyra decides she has one more chance to try to find
the killer. It would mean leaving the city to get to the
gates. She decides to head to the Inn and check out and
see if they can find Kell.
[Party's Inn]
[Time: 2:26 pm]
Z'leyra and the others finish their walk to the Inn. They
enter to find Kell. Z'leyra tells the group to collect
their bags and she will check out.
[Time: 2:35 pm]
Outside the Inn Z'leyra catches Kell up on things and her
plans. Including more Akasha spells, travel leaving horses
and the like. Kell clearly sees some are annoyed by this
plan like Kiet and Pyan.
Listening to the option of more Akasha spells, Ha'Kell has
several thoughts. "Z'leyra, as your sister left to somewhere
in the north and arrived in the north, wouldn't checking in your
home village be the best place to start? It is a long trip, but
that is the most logical place to start to find your sister.
We don't need to know the entire course taken, we just need to
find her now. We can guess she lived in your village. Why not
plan on that trip and go?"
"Trying to track with Akasha is dangerous too. Whilst your
skill is improving, eventually several castings will fail and
bad things can happen. You know this, as magic is not without
a price."
"If I had done this, as a wolf shaman, I would either run as
a wolf the entire trip back, change back to human and ride, or
use magic to just disappear. How do we know she didn't
teleport, which Akasha cannot reveal. In short, I think the
best option is to visit your home village."
Aside and somewhat in private, "Her motive for this may not
be personal, but something from the elders or culture. That
also points to visiting your village."
"Travel to your home village and search there and along the
way. What say you?"
The bounty hunter bored by this talk nods, "it is only
logical. If she is not there they might give clues where
she is then we can go from there. If a thief was at a house
you don't track him from his home to the scene of the crime
you do it at the scene."
Z'leyra nods, "you are correct. But I would still like to go
back to Sivas for a couple weeks before going off to the
Kameran. And yes, teleportation may be best. We will have to
decide what to do about the horses that can't be teleported."
"Not visiting Sivas is fine, there is no reason for me to go,"
adds Kell. "If some want to go, then I can stay and watch the
horses here, and when you arrive come and get me. The horses
will be well cared for."
"I have known Zen'da most of my life as they are close
neighbors with Ba'ru, yet my language skills aren't that good.
I can make it by and that is all. I have no preference either
riding or going by boat. Staying here does give us more time
to prepare for the trip, so I can do that planning while some
are in Sivas for a few weeks. What will Fuk and Luige say to
this plan?"
The bounty hunter shrugs and then that is when the party
realizes there must be a very high bounty on this killer.
To delay weeks or months would only show this. Some wonder
who is paying the bounty?
The chief shrugs, "I do have family here and would prefer
to get this done fast. I had expected several months of
travel to and back. This...spell you speak I've never been
involved. But if from what I hear is correct it can get us
there and back instantly I'm fine with it."
Arawn gave an approving nod in regards to Kell's
thoughtful suggestions.
"And, if you haven't already done so, perhaps you should
speak with your uncle and maybe Armanth as well. It's possible
your father might have shared something regarding his ties to
Kameran that might prove useful."
Ha'Kell thinks for a few quick, very quick, moments. "Our
choices are somewhat limited with winter. Thanks Kiet.
Traveling through the snows in those mountains sounds terrible.
If we go back to Sivas, we can take a boat north to Ba'Ru. From
there is it crossing the Zen'da plains. The overland trip is
roughly the same. Give or take a few hundred miles, but the
weather will be much better than using mountain passes."
"Whatever way we go, taking the horses is important to some.
I can sell mine and purchase a new one if necessary."
Speaking to Arawn, "Many thanks. Learning to cut and polish
a gem will be good. Mounting too. I don't need full skills of
a jeweler. We can start whenever!"
Back to the group, "What is the plan of travel? Which way
to Kameri?"
Arawn considers these options. He already has a teleport
spot in Cetric's village, near sacred forest in Vassa forest
and Dark Lands.
After looking at a map, Kell has another idea. "We can go
east to Thaliba, then travel north to avoid the mountains."
"Firstly, are we going to Sivas? Why?" He looks at everyone
in the group and waits for an answer.
"It's mainly to rest and resupply, I would think. Also, we
will need different gear for cross-country travel versus caravan
roads. Plus, it is still winter...and even the plains get
storms and cold. Then, too, isn't the Kameran in the hills?
Kiet adds to the conversation considering the risks.
Kell responds, "Ah ok, thank you. I was thinking of merely
supplying here and traveling northwards, or whatever path we
choose."
The chief shifts from one foot to the other hearing this
and looks away.
"Kameran is in the hills to the north of the Zen'da plains.
Z'leyra, how will the weather be in the next months? Terrible
and cold? "
Kiet wonders about those conditions as well. He hasn't been
that far to the interior of the continent before, mostly living
his life along the seas. He does know a thing or two, or thinks
he does, about how the Zen'da barbarians might act.
"We might do well to prepare our belongings for the trip. It
would not surprise me to see some attempts upon us, our things,
and most especially our horses." Kiet muses a bit then says,
"We should try to better prepare for our nights. Arawn...you
seem to know most about the various spells. Isn't there one I
have seen you use that also helps with night sight? Can we
learn that before we go? With a two- three year head start,
we needn't be in a huge rush."
[Time: 2:45 pm]
Outside the Inn the cold dips down a bit by a few degrees
and a wind chills the bones of the party. As if nature itself
or herself is showing her skills.
Z'leyra decides the party should move to the gates. She has
heard the arguments but is still determined to do her spells.
Knowing that some like Kiet and Pyan do not want to leave their
horses and the Alfar will take them decides her next step.
She tells the group they'll head to the ranch and get their
horses.
The only one to have a horse is Kell and he mounts up.
As the party walks he quickly asks Z'leyra about the jewels.
Hearing the info he decides they sound more enticing. He
tells the group he wants to go buy them and will meet up
at the gate. He then trots off fast back toward the market.
[Time: 2:56 pm]
At the ranch the party collects their horses and tack up.
They have been treated well by the students and feed nicely.
Kell riding fast notices he is near the street with that
vendor he talked to earlier. He decides to head that way
and get a quick note on how to contact him so he can possibly
continue their deal talks from Marentia. If he can help
take down Smith it will be worth it but will take time.
[Time: 3:04 pm]
The party now on horses heads to the gate. Quietly,
Z'leyra tries to estimate the time to walk from the woods
to the gates. But she has to redo her math when she
recalls wolves move faster than humans. She tries to recall
how Thig's dogs walked and how fast. She may be off by
minutes or even hours. Getting the exact time frame to
fit in her 70 minute window will be very difficult to near
impossible to do so.
At the market gem shop Kell rushes in and pays for the jewels
which are indeed still there.
The chief and bounty hunter rented a couple horses but have
advised the others if they will be getting even more horses
in Sivas they will leave them at the gate to a guard If they
are still teleporting.
As the party rides Kiet notices the bounty hunter seem
glum. The chief notices this and grins, "he wanted to
take his pet bear but figured thousands of miles walking
would do it harm."
[Time: 3:12 pm]
Z'leyra stops at the Vault and intends to remove the party
items. Z'leyra shows her ribbons and other papers and then
is escorted with the party to their vault. The guards advise
once they get their gear they will need to leave the city for
good.
Outside the Chief and Bounty hunter wait. Some ask the hunter
about his weapons but the chief intervenes with special show
of a permit from the court.
As the party are outside the bounty hunter turns to the Chief.
"These are some strange folks. Do you think this sister hunt
is a clever way to get away? Would this group actually adhere
to bring her back?"
The chief shrugs, "I don't know but we are outnumbered. We
have ourselves but if they take us out we'll have to fight back."
The hunter nods, 'you still have the items?"
"Yes. But - here they come." The chief nods as the
group exits the vault.
[Time: 3:24 pm]
The gates in the city are nothing but common design for
90% of the gates in every city. This city has never been
a center for sieges so the city walls are low and crumbling.
Clearly this place is not a place to defend but a place of
learning. These gates are the wide form that are as wide as
32 feet with 16 foot gates that slide shut if needed but
are never done so in Ticasi. The metal in the gates clearly
show dust and rust from lack of closing. But the gate itself
is wide enough to allow 2 maybe 3 wagons pass by side by side.
This time of day the morning traffic is mostly done from a
high capacity 30-50 person per minute passing by to only 4-5
people and maybe only a wagon or horse every few minutes at best.
The traffic won't again pick up till near dusk as folks leave the
city for farms and such.
At each guard there are 2-3 guards who mostly watch but
sometimes give directions or suggestions for travelers.
The party exits the first gate and Z'leyra tells the party
to wait nearby. She intends to cast the spell just outside
the gate itself. Since she only has a 100 foot or so area for
her vision she'll have to do it near the gate itself.
Z'leyra watches the ground and gate as people pass. She
has cast many spells today enough to tap the energy of most
normal magic users. She might have at best 3 or 4 Akasha
spells. With two gates on this end of the city means maybe
1 or 2 per gate. Which means if her estimate of time is incorrect
she migth only have once chance to see the past 2.5 years ago the
day of Tiren's murder. At that level of skill she will only see
70 minutes in fixed time. If she is off b7 71 minutes then
she will never see the killer.
With staff in hand Z'leyra begins to stand to the left of
the gate on dirt that is not normally used. Guards notice her
and the Chief has to intervene that she is not a crazed woman.
Z'leyra first casts a Purification on the ground and then
starts her Akasha spell.
[Time: 3:26 pm]
As Z'leyra stares away in her trance the chief walks up to
Arawn. "Now that we are leaving the city." He moves to his
horse and from a pack he had delivered to the Inn by a constable
he withdrawals a scroll.
"The Bishop wanted me to deliver this to you before we leave."
He hands the scroll to Arawn who for the first time in his life
drops his jaw in surprise. He recovers quickly and scans the
scroll from the outside and sees there is a magical aura around it.
The chief continues, "he wanted me to say that you are to not open
it or it would dissolve. You must deliver it to a person named
Kaylle the Scholar in Sivas. Do you know this man? It is made
just for his touch. If anyone else opens it will dissolve. If
the magic is taken away it will dissolve."
Arawn stares at the scroll and then the Chief in confusion.
How would the Bishop who suddenly left town know Kaylle? Kaylle
does interact with the city as a librarian but why would he
be talking to the Religion Councilman? This has just become a
whole new mystery.
Z'leyra exits her trance and grunts frustrated not seeing
a sign of the wolf or killer.
[Time: 3:30 pm]
Z'leyra will try once more this time adding 70 minutes ahead of
her estimated time. Maybe she was later than estimated. She
recasts the akasha spell.
In her vision she sees people walking by even with dogs but
no wolves. On wagons she sees dogs but no wolves. There are
several covered wagons but in her trance she can only 'see' the
wagon and not physcially enter the wagon to check under covers
or such. If the wolf hoped a wagon it is either not seen or
not here.
Kell rides to the gate frustrated that he though tit was
the other gate and finally comes here to find the group after
waiting at other gate for some time.
Z'leyra exits her trance disappointed again. The other gate
is some 3 miles down the way and guides the group that way.
[Time: 3:39 pm]
At the second and last gate on this side of the city, Z'leyra
will try her last spell. She might have energy for one more but
she will have to try afterwards.
Recasting a new purification spell she restarts the Akasha spell.
Suddenly Arawn is thrown back a foot as a flash of something
blinds his eyes. Fremea sees it as well but a bit further away
is not knocked back.
Z'leyra does not enter her trance and realizes the spell failed.
Arawn recovers as the magical blast form everywhere and no where
hit him. He looks around and sees everything normal. No. Not
normal. The aurae are gone. Kiet's rings no aura. Z'leyra's
staff no aura. It seems when her spell failed it knocked the magic
energy out of every magical item in the area. Even the bounty
hunter's whip is no longer glowing. Arawn knows these things tend
to fade in hours but now it seems the party has dead magical items
for a few hours.
Arawn knows this but no one else but maybe Fremea. He glances
at Z'leyra. At least this time she is not blasting the party
with sound like in Ezam's cave when that spell failed.
Frustrated Z'leyra starts to gesture again and recasts. But
Arawn after watching the group for their obvious magical items
turns to Z'leyra. He realizes she is using a staff that has
no magical energy for now and starts to move toward her to warn
her to stop. But she finishes the spell words and nothing
happens.
Z'leyra realizes her magical energy is drained for the spells
she wants to cast at least. She wonders if this was the gate
the killer left and could've seen her again. But even so what
then? Seen her walk by and disappear? Going this way or that
then what? It would be hard to follow but it might've given
some clue who knows.

Next Update....Monday???
GM: Finally I'm done. There were 20 posts to come in which was
a lot! But good stuff. Sorry for delay. Consider this
the Friday update since late. I'll start on next update
some Saturday and rest Monday. Start meaning to format
and clean some sheets, etc. Once teleport is done to Sivas
it will be Part 3 (of 4) and we are 50% done. Party can
decide to stay longer if so and try more spells the next
day but for today the spells for Akasha are over. Items will
recover their magical energy in 10 hours so its short. Could've
been far worse with damage. :) But it was within a 60 foot
area around Z'leyra.
GM: Teleporting/Translocating:
Chief/Bounty will leave horses and rent more in Sivas.
People to take - 8 (Arawn not included)
Horses to take - 8
So that means at least a EL9+ spell for one spell.
Arawn can only do EL7. So that is 2 trips.
Lets say each horse is 3 Inclusions if as is. That's
24 inclusions unless transmuted (which costs as well).
So Arawn has around 120 or so mana left for day (don't
think this is secret since public mana report) only using
about 17 today. So this is how I figure?
Trip 1 to Sivas: Take 7 leaving 1 behind to watch horses
Trip 2 to Ticasi
Trip 3 to Sivas Take ?
Each spell is 22 Mana to Translocate. So might have 5
trips.
So 5 trips before run out unless transmute horses which
would be 18 or so mana at max level.
So some serious plans will have to be made It may have to
be done over a couple days. Maybe return tomorrow and
get the horses? Arawn you need to figure out the math.
Leaving horses is an option but Kiet/Pyan will not.
So Arawn/Z'leyra will need to figure out a plan.
For purposes of horse I figure this is at least 2 to 4
inclusions. 1 Inclusion is 1 Mana size so I'll be easy
and say 250 pounds. This may be a underestimate on horse
weight but I'm kind.
Actually Arawn's wand is useless for a few hours due to
failure so has much less mana now that I think o fit. :<
Just core Energy Level-17
There is another set of options
Send horses by Road - Another month to have them shipped
by caravan to Sivas.
Ship by boat - Since Z said would be 'few weeks' in Sivas
might have time to wait for them by boat. Dwarves want
to head to beach so do not want to count the hexes from
Ticasi to Sivas. But basically a ship can do 3-4 hexes
per day with good winds. Hoping to avoid Porta/Climan
pirates.
So plans will need to be drawn up :) Let me know.
Keep in mind Transmuting horses to rocks has failure
issues. Keep in mind Saddles/bags weight does not
transmute.
