[Recap]
From David: [Re: Sheets]
I am one of those with the spreadsheet. I just can't take
care of the weight calcs on a text file.
I will probably continue it, but also try to maintain the
character sheet...the difficult part is any new acquisition...
how to keep track of them...I think I'll just have to make a
separate section in 'my' text file...then reconcile it against
any new items.
The idea is not to overburden Scott....and give him what he
wants/needs, but still be able to make it work on this end.
GM Ack. Too me the weights are fast to figure out. What I can
do is add gear to bottom so that you can add it without
going line by line for you? Do those changes at end of
adventure or IBT times. I hope others will vote on the
options I outlined.

[New Stuff]
* Z'leyra's IBT
[Decalis 24th]
Z'leyra arrives in Sivas and starts work almost immediately.
She escorts those who want to go her manor to her home. With
the new Ticasians she hopes she has enough room. Once at the
manor she meets with the staff. She informs the manor staff
that visitors will be in and out including Kell, Kiet and the
Ticasians among possible others.
She directs the cook to collect discounted food from the markets
for her future foyson work. She says the others will need
extra food and beverage over the next 2 weeks. The two new
strangers say only one will stay at any one time as they
will go to town to stay at an inn. After all Ticasi is paying
for most of the Chief's expenses. Kell tells the cook he will
supply 12 bottles of wine for the manor's stocks.
She quickly has a chat no who is there and their plans for
the party. Then she lets them unpack.
Z'leyra gets with the guards for any reports. But in the end
for the last month it has been typical daily life. A couple
drunks tries to come in thinking it was their place. Kids
throwing eggs or such over the walls. But nothing serious that
they found or detected.
Z'leyra enters the workshop and asks a servant to help dust
and prepare the workshop as Kell will be using it. Then she
enters the house to see the stewart saying bills have not been
paid in 3 months. So she enters the office to spend most of
the evening aside from dinner doing paperwork and reading letters.
She asks one of the servants to head to a market and buy
leather for her sacks She would do it but is too busy
catching up with reports.
After dinner the stable boy finally arrives from his own
home a bit later than expected. She asks the boy to clean
and handle the new horses in the stable. They will be
in town for at least 2 more woeks and will need to be
handled and fed.
She sees the manor expenses have not been paid for 3 months.
This means the guards and some staff not paid in that time.
She feels bad for that and tells the stewart to get a bank
draft ready so she can sign. She will pay for the manor's
expenses up until mid summer in Julis for 11 months since
last paid. That should give them 6 months while she is
gone. She assigns a guard to go to the money lender to
get the transactions done safely. It is not the gold load
but that paper could give some thief a nice pay day. So
she sends a trusted guard.
She signs the draft and feels bad that she will load 135
gold but dealing with a manor and staff is expensive. She
kind of envies Chion who has a small shack with little or
no expenses much less a single door! She stares at the
window and wonders how Fremea can keep her home afloat. Does
the kids steal to keep it going?
Then Z'leyra delves into letters and reports. There are
reports and letters from other healers that indicate a
interest in her techniques. She has yet to form her school
and the reports seem to say the Royal Healer is still blocking
or at least finding it difficult to allow. Z'leyra knows this
is stupid for a healer not to allow a school for healing. But
she figures organized teaching could undermine his overall
authority compared to a decentralized network of healers in
towns and cities. One day she will have to sway the old man
that is to his benefit. Maybe a audience with the King
maybe with Unali's help?
The other healers say there have been quiet inquiries that
the nation is becoming more restrictive in some techniques.
It seems recently L'p'nth strange rituals have been getting
into towns and peasants are using them and this makes the
healers and court a bit upset as it is more dark rituals than
natural healing techniques.
Z'leyra figures this is just a way to investigate her and
the others in Sivas. Aside from Ezam the L'p'nth have not been
a big threat in the nation aside from the eastern border. But
Duke Valnon should be curbing all that tightly.
She does read one letter from a healer in the north in a very
high crime area that says a merchant shipping company owner
has inquired on a blanket service for his dock workers, sailor
and other employees. The healer wonders if this person could
be a investment for her school. Maybe when she is back she
can meet with Damon to see if he knows shit man and if he is
a fair man or some criminal like so many in the north.
[Decalis 25th]
[Morning]
The party now all back in Sivas meet at Cholan's tavern
for a debriefing and to decide on their futre plans. She
decides that one horse per person and no wagon. This causes
some to be unhappy on that decision but does not argue.
[Afternoon]
Z'leyra heads home and starts to make the first of her
2 sacks. The closest skill for this would be tailor style
skills. But she is still unskilled in such so knows it will
be difficult and more time consuming at best. She does know
Tanning but that is taking animal and making leather not
really from leather to final product. So she will have to
rely on both skills with the clothier skill being the
lesser of both.
Most sack makers can do a bag in 4 hours with a strap.
But with Z'leyra being unskilled it will be trial and
error for awhile so it might take 5 hours per bag to
finish them.
After the first bag is made near dinner time she collects
the material for her foyson theft from her servants. She
then casts 5 Foyson Theft on it to make flour. She then
bakes the flour into waybread. One such batch would feed
the party for a bit over 3 days. But she knows that many
will not use them like Kiet. Eating bread for weeks on end
is not good for the body. It may give full nutritional
value but the soul needs better food.
After dinner she continues work on the second bag until
just after midnight. Exhausted she heads to bed after
tending to cuts on her fingers.
[Decalis 26th]
Z'leyra who had been taught some of the healing mist tries
to study the spell. But without Arawn teaching her or
a book it will be slow going. She decides to meditate a
recall as much as the things Arawn did in the past from
gestures, words to inflections of tone. It may not be
the best way to study a spell but it is mental work.
She also finds Kell and Kiet and asks them if they can
recall things that might help allow her to study the spell.
Z'leyra visits Kaylle to see if he has any spells on the
spell. But the librarian scholar reports nothing. He has
plenty of books on healing but not that particular spell.
Since that group of spells - Neutral magics - tend to be
less popular overall.
[3:15 pm]
Z'leyra is heading to the manor walking and trying to
consider ways to study the mist ritual when she encounters
a body on the street. She rushes to the old woman who
is in her 60s at least, maybe older. The peasant is
not breathing so she checks for wounds but finds nothing.
Then she checks eyes and other areas and finds a massive
stroke must've hit the woman. She begins to try to
invoke the breath of life and regain a pulse but nothing
comes. She covers the woman's eyes and blocks the sun
to get pupil reaction to check for brain activity but
there is nothing.
Z'leyra finally gives up figuring that even a healing
spell would be useless as she was probably dead for
some time. For the next half hour she finds a city guard
and helps transport the body to the proper place.
[Decalis 27th]
Z'leyra works a set of saddle bags from scratch and
some bought leather. Since the sewing is not as skilled
as a professional it will take hours
Mid way through she takes a break and casts 5 more Foyson
Theft spells on the obtained materials. Then bakes more
waybread from the flour.
[Decalis 28th]
Z'leyra continues to study through her mental exercises
the healing mist spell.
[Decalis 29th]
Z'leyra continues to work on the saddle bags. She tries
to sew in artistic runes into the leather as best she can
to pay respect to the proper gods.
She casts 5 more Foyson theft spells and creates more bread.
Taking the bags she casts a shamanic orientation spell
and then casts an enchantment to improve the capacity of
the bags. She almost tried to cast a reading spell to
ensure the enchantment worked first but had to cast the
enchantment first. So now she casts the Mana Reading
and finds the spell worked. She then casts another enchantment
to reduce the weight of items inside. Then another Reading
spell to ensure it worked.
She then finds Kell and gives the enchanted saddle bags
to the half elf.
[Decalis 30th]
Z'leyra spends another day using her mind to study what
she recalls from Arawn's mist spell.
[Decalis 31st]
Z'leyra works on a couple more bags from scratch.
Then she casts another set of 5 Foyson Theft spells on
the material collected and bakes waybread.
Then she enchants the two sacks to improve holding capacity.
She checks via mana reading to ensure the spells worked. She
goes to find Kell and asks him to sell one of the sacks for
at least or around 15 gold. But she knows it is just a sack
that holds more not a sack that flies or casts thunderstorms. So
she will have to be happy with what she gets.
[Janaq 1st]
Z'leyra goes with Kell to sell the sack. He considers
a caravan dealer but they are used to making space tight
and efficient with their teamster skills. So he decides
a basic merchant maybe a messenger oriented one would find
it more valuable. Kell and Z'leyra check with 4-5 places
and the best offer both get is 7 gold with a minimal of 5
gold only. Z'leyra gets the 7 gold from the bookstore merchant
who hauls books a lot of places. It is the best she can do with
short notice.
For the rest of the day she returns to the manor to study
in her own mind the mist spell.
[Janaq 2nd]
Z'leyra makes 2 more bags from scratch.
Then casts 5 more batches of foyson theft spells and bakes
the flour.
[Janaq 3rd]
Z'leyra continues to mentally study and reuse the gestures
and words for the mist to hone her unlearned mist skill.
[Janaq 4th]
Z'leyra casts a knowledge spell to ask the gods if horses
can handle foyson based foods. The information is quickly
downloaded to her mind and the answer is yes. That wafers
is probably the best but should not be fed everyday as the
horse diet needs to be more diverse.
She then with material paid for by the staff casts 5 more
foyson thefts this time to make horse oriented flour. Technically
the flour is the same but in the end the baking will be slightly
different. She bakes the batch of flour for the horses in
the form of wafers.
[Janaq 5th]
Finally schedules coordinate and Z'leyra heads to the library
to meet with Arawn and Kell. Arawn is teaching Kell his
jeweler skill so Arawn while Kell reads can help teach Z'leyra
some basics on the mist spell.
[Janaq 6th]
Z'leyra makes two more bags this time for the horse feed.
She then does 5 more foyson spell batches and bakes the bread.
Z'leyra then enchants both bags for increasing holding to
help it hold more.
[Janaq 7th]
Z'leyra realizes she made 2 bags but never had chance or
mana to enchant them. So today she enchants the bags she
made previously to hold more.
This gives Z'leyra 9 enchanted bags and 1 saddlebag she
already gave to Kell.

Next Update....Monday??
GM: A short IBT as she has no encounters aside from one.
Since she did 0 shopping and mostly stayed at home
then not much to encounter. :) I doubt there will
be a update Monday. I may not finish her gear and
sheet cleanup till Saturday at best. Next is Arawn
if his IBT is done or whoever turns in a final version
next.

GM: Distances: (to remind myself later)
Sivas to Village by Land:
Path Hexes Distance
Sivas to Maren [Road] 12 240 miles
Maren to Cholchara [Road] 9 180 miles
Road to Marentia Fort 3.5 70 miles
Option-to Ba'ru City 3 60 miles
Fort to Village [Plain] 21 420 miles
Option: Ba'ru to Village 23 460 miles
Total: 910-950Miles depending on Ba'ru visit
Sivas to Village by water
River to Village 31 620 miles
River to Village 5 100 miles
Total: 720 Miles
Village to Kameran border (roughly)
Zen'da Plains to Border 43 860 miles
These are rough estimates and I may be off a few
hexes. These are various options.
So let's say ship wagon/horses by barge up river.
So let's assume a simple barge doing 10-20 miles
per day. Might even do more with good winds. Let's
assume 15 on average. That's 40 days. Ok. So shipping
ahead of time may not be a good option. :)
How about going to Ba'ru and getting supplies there?
Wagons? Horses? That is the closest large city to
the village. If prepare is done at start of IBT and
say a person ships those items (wagon/horses from Ba'ru)
to village then would need only cross 460 miles.
At 25 per day would be 19 days. Almost in the IBT
time period.
As GM I'm only trying to cover options. You guys have
to do some serious logistics to decide. Mainly the
horses and/or wagon/food. To fit within the 2 weeks.
Above there are some option as well. Chion if in town
could be swayed to help as he could probably teleport
2-3 wagons in one jump.
