A bit of administrative work and future and current check ins.
* Mae's picture made by Don is online at bottom of my game site.
* Contact:
Right now I'm online and in contact with Mark/Kell, Tobie/Fremea,
Alex/Z'leyra, Don/Mae and new player Bert.
I can contact these people via chat or such. So I put it again
if anyone needs to update their contact info see the contact info
on the website. If have new email or have chat access or such
list it if you want it public. If private can email me.
My online methods are:
1. Facebook: Easy to chat via FB
2. ICQ: A chat system from 90s but still around
3. AIM: I can do AIM if needed via Trillian
4. Skype: Voice/Chat able
5. Discord: Online voice/chat service
6. Emails obviously
Via Trillian I can do just about any method as long as I have
pc up Trillian is loaded. Aside from Skype. So these methods
are good if you need to chat/talk about things.
If you do any of the above methods and want it public (to contact
file) or me privately do so. This can also speed up inter-pc
chats. Course we have players from Alaska to Europe so time
zones are a factor. I am in EST (Florida time).
If new player and want your info added to contact file let
me know. See link on my game site.
* Character sheets:
Over the years I've heard some like to use spreadsheets. I
think for the next adventure I can try to do this. It would
be Openoffice/Excel format. I use Actual Excel 97 on my old
pc but Openoffice on new one.
Spreadsheet advantage:
* Faster for math and more accurate
Spreadsheet disadvantages:
* Magic item temp bonus issues
* Longer to load/process compared to text
If I did a spreadsheet I'd have to find one that works
for the game or make one. Granted I was a spreadsheet
master years ago. But not this century. :< So I'm rusty.
I'd do a spreadsheet for:
* Attributes
* Other Attributes:
Energy Level
Mana/Magic Aspects
Coins
HPV
Possibly CEP/MEP
* Gear Optionally.
Since gear doesn't change often for figuring out weights
and encumbrance on the fly might be useful?
* Skills:
Partial Expertise, Max EL factors
* Spells:
Casting Cost, Speed, EL, Expertise, Max EL changes
* Optionally other notes
The big issue is all the magic items. With all the bonuses
that a item does if you wear, remove, drop or such it would
be hard to do that on a sheet unless really prepared for such.
Example: Player S30 St20 C30.. HPV 20. OCV 7 DCV 8. Now
he wears a Ring that boosts S by 30
So Str Bonus changes, HPV is now 28 OCV 8. In that easy example
I'd need to show eitherBOTH stats or a final stat and assume
that item is worn. This is one item many folks now have several
items which would be insane to compute on a simple sheet unless
it had a LOT of space.
So my question. Who is interested in using a Spreadsheet for
your character or the text version? I'll assume Text if not
stated otherwise.
As a reminder Open Office Write shows the sheet fine with
no format issues at all. I also have a Asterisk (*) versions
instead of using the old ascii lines which for some reason modern
editors don't like anymore.
On a side note I should've thought of this years ago. Who
would be interested on a online version of the sheet? I could
put your text sheet on my site but not as a public link. I'd
give or you'd assign a URL like
../pbem/Dwarfgod.txt
Technically for disclosure purposes the site is run by Tobie.
He has the same access I do. But he'd have to search for every
file and such to find said sheets. I just don't think he's that
desperate to do so. :)
But I could when I edit sheets on my copy then copy them
to the other pc and thus the site? Would that interest you?
If so let me know. This way you can just go to URL and
see what is pretty much current. No clue why I never thought
of this years go!
It would add a few min each time process, move and rename and
upload sheet but it might solve many requests for sheets?
Actually Roll20 also has a Character Vault. I don't now if it is
just a maintian a simple # or it can handle math. Don knows this
stuff more than me as I only used the vaule a couple minutes.
