Yes, Kiet will protect his Ma Siwang! That horse is
valuable.
Assuming both Kiet and Ma live, Kiet will use what husbandry
skills he knows to help heal the horse and use one dose of
darbha grass for the horse. After the hyenas are dispensed
with. Also, if someone offers to heal the horse, Kiet won't
say no. It might be difficult to ride a wounded horse.
May as well forget about the javelins. They are more for use
before things get this close and personal.
GM: Ack. Yeah they are swift beasts at MR16. They can easily
outrun a human.

Unali as she exits the tent sees Arawn and Pyan near the
horses on one side and Kell surrounded by hyenas on the other.
She guesses the horses have sufficient defenders and Kell needs
help. She moves towards Kell to help defend him from the mob
circling him.
GM: Ack.

[ The Fight ]
Discarding his plan to use an Illusion because half of the
beasts are already wounded or dead, Ha'Kell will shout loudly
to try and scare those around him as he attacks the hyenas
attacking him.
[In the past, Jan 21, after Knowledge works!! ] ...
[ Food and water ]
Kell will happily share his food and anything else needed to
keep everyone strong. Food, water, or more. He knows Kiet's
secret and thinks it is amazing!! Lamb shanks, yes please.
GM: Ack. I will complete the Ebony info nd send it to you
soon. I started the Ebony document. It may not be ready
till next week. Stay tuned.

[Janaq 21st, 1635TH]
[Zen'da Central Plains]
[Time: 8:05 pm]
Ha'Kell is nearly stunned with the knowledge. Finally, oh to
use it now. The half elf just bounces around the camp that
night, not able to sleep and planning things. He stays up late
into the night, trying to talk Kiet's ear off with his
excitement. If only they had something strong to drink!

[Janaq 26th, 1635TH]
[Zen'da Central Plains]
[Time: 1:33:06 am] [Phase 3]
As Fremea moves north she casts a spell on her quiver.
Reaching the north she fires at the 3 beasts who have
not charged yet. Two arrows are fired, one breaking off
from the original magically, and hits #17 doing enough
to kill the beast.
The horses are now fully aware and awake. All 8 in some
fashion to defend or attack the 3 Hyena in their area.
Five are able to strike with 2 doing severe damage.
The Fay Horse and Kell's try to trample Hyena #7 doing
3 points each. This is enough to knock the animal out.
Kiet's wounded horse and Unali's attack #8 doing 2 points
each. This is enough to kill the Hyena.
Pyan's horse though not a combat mount bucks and kicks Hyena
#9 doing 3 more points to the wounded animal.
Corona dives again and tries to fire on another beast north
of Kell's postion. But the fire blast hits the ground near
him missing the beast.
Hyena #1 turns from Kell an attacks Z'leyra. It bites
her on the left leg doing only 1 point of damage.
Hyena #2 leaps toward Kell and slams into his shield
sliding off.
Hyena #3 and #4 attack Kell again. But both fail to
make any contact with the trader.
Hyena #9 sees 2 of his pals die and backs away. He
turns to leave but sees Kiet there so charges him. Kiet
pulls up his shield and the beast hits it sliding off.
Hyena #15 and #16 recovers from Arawn's noise and charges
toward Dorhak. Dorhak sees both coming and raises his
shield forcing them to the side making them impact the shield
hard and slide off.
Unali moves forward and comes along side Z'leyra. She
stabs #1 with both daggers and the magical dagger hits
killing the beast.
Arawn turns to the horses and see looks like one
maybe two left? its hard to see in the mass of horse
flesh. But it seems Kiet is handling it. So Arawn
moves north to help Kell. He thrusts at Hyena #4 but
fails to hit. As he moves he continues to yell like
a banshee.
Kell smiles at seeing his friends helping him. He
thrusts his spear at #2 but fails to hit.
Z'leyra tries to bash #3 but also fails to hit.
Fuk thrusts his sword at #4 and hits doing 2 points
of damage to the beast.
Lucria charges to help Fuk and thrusts his own sword
at #4 doing 4 more points to the beast.
Kiet sees the fleeing beast trying to escape the horses
and stabs it with his tulwar killing it.
Dorhak swings on one of the two beasts near him but
fails to make any contact.
[Time: 1:33:09 am] [Phase 4]
Fremea hovers as she doesn't see a good target to
fire on without hitting friends. She takes the chance
to look around the plains for nay more but doesn't seem
to find anymore.
The horses all calm down now as thee are no beasts
near them. Just that annoying noise from that Elf
guy.
Hyena #2 and #3 try to attack Kell again but fail
to hit or deflected by his shield.
Hyena #4 decides it is time to flee and bays out
to the others but the noise from Arawn blocks this.
The beast runs north into the darkness.
Hyena #15 and #16 attack Dorhak again. #15 does
get a nice bite in on his left arm doing 6 points of
damage. The other one fails to hit.
Unali moves toward #3 and strikes it killing the wounded
beast.
Arawn realizes the fleeing beast must be the Alpha Male.
But he can't commune with it now since his noise is
still distracting. He moves toward the north to help
Dorhak but fails to strike one of the beasts.
Kell spears Hyena #2 and kills him in one blow.
Z'leyra hits #4 with her staff and finally kills it.
Fuk and Lucria move to help Dorhak and kill one of
the beasts as a team.
Dorhak swings his mace on the last beast and hits killing
the younger hyena.
[Time: 1:33:12 am] [Phase 5]
The last Hyena the Alpha Male runs north. But Fremea
flies over head and chases it. Arawn feels sorry
for the beast but his noise prevents him from trying
to persuade her. She fires 2 arrows, one hitting the
beast but it continues to flee.
[Time: 1:33:15 am] [Phase 6]
Fremea fires another arrow and it hits killing the beast.
[Time: 1:34 am]
Arawn tries to shut his mouth as the spell will continue
for another couple minutes probably. But even so the
hum he creates is loud.
Kiet checks his horse and finds nothing serious so that's
good.
The entire combat lasted maybe 15 seconds and the party
did well to wake up and deal with it fast. Some did get
hurt but not major damage. The party soon realizes of
the 18 Hyena half are young cubs. That means the pack
must've been on a hunting cycle desperate to get food
and teach the young cubs. They realize that a possible
entire tribe of Hyeana is now wiped out.
Lucria bends down and draws his knife. he begins to slice
off one of the beast's skin. "I hear they can be valuable.
Anyone know how to treat it from decay until we get back?"
he continues to slice off the skin grossed out by the smell.
For the first couple of minutes, Arawn steps back and
knows he can help the wounded but getting close and
saying something might burst ear drums. So he let's Z'leyra
check the wounded.
Z'leyra finds most of the wounds light with nothing serious
aside from scratches and bites. Maybe it is time to practice
her Healing Mist has she ahs a diverse group of wounded including
the horse.
Kiet examines his horse and uses his own skills as a horse
husbander and teamster. On his second pass he realizes the horse
took more damage than figured almost half of what he might take.
He hopes that Z'leyra can heal him.
Fuk stops Lucria, "wait a bit. If we just slice these animals
up it'll draw more things. Give it a couple hours and then
we can do it before sunrise."
Lucira nods and stops and helps the others to ensure all
are dead. Some indeed are breathing but not dead so they
are dispatched. The Hyena bodies are stacked so as to
make things easier.
Z'leyra and Arawn treat the wounded by cleaning wounds from
dirt and debris. Stopping bleeding. Then explains she'll
cast a Mist spell to heal everyone. They'll be in a short
coma as it heals. She directs the others to pull the healed
ones away as it would stop the spell when one is healed.
So as people are healed they will be taken out of the mist
quickly to stop it from ending.
She explains to the horse what she intends to do and calms it.
Kiet asks to be with him during it and help out. Z'leyra tells
the horse to stand firm so it doesn't fall during the coma.
Z'leyra then starts the healing spell.
The Mist heals Z'leyra's wound first and she is pulled
away by Arawn and Fuk. Next to heal is Pyan and he is
dragged away. Then Lucria and Dorhak at the same time and
they are dragged away quickly. Finally Kell is healed
by the Mist. This leaves the horse who is still repairing
skin and tissue. The Mist ends as the horse is finally healed
completely.

[Janaq 27th, 1635TH]
[Zen'da Central Plains]
[Time: 5:13 am]
Arawn wakes up again early due to a dream. He exits
the tent and feels the cold wind on his body. But the
cold wind seems different as if more to it than a simple
temperature. For a couple weeks he can recall weird wild
dreams. But as soon as he wakes up he forgets them. Tonight
though he seems to recall one. This one is of two powerful
forces that has to be gods and another force he can't recognize
or understand. It is only flashes as if reading cave wall
paintings. But deep down in his gut he fears that something
big and vital is coming. But why isn't his parents helping
out to give him clues. Is this a lesson of their own? For
the next couple hours he prays and thinks.
[Time: 10:31 am]
For most of the day it is sun and bright. But occasionally
a rogue cloud will roll in as if the elementals I the
clouds wish to be mean and cause clouds to follow the group.
The temperatures today range from 49-66 degrees. But
at this hour a rain storm falls as if making some cloud
elemental jovial at the party's expense. The rain lasts almost
a full hour forcing the group to stop and make a tarp
and paviliono for the group and horses.
[Time: 4:49 pm]
The day is bright and clear and then another cloud seems
to appear. It causes rain to fall for another hour
drenching party and horses.
[Time: 5:15 pm]
A large village is spotted by Z'leyra and the group
diverts that way. As they near they find it with about
200 villagers making it a very large unusual village
for the Zen'da. They even have a decent amount of 30-40
warriors. The temperatures now seem to plunge 20 or so degrees
as the late afternoon starts its descent.
[Time: 5:15 pm]
Arawn and Z'leyra, now in human form, ride toward the
village as the others wait. They present their pass to
be on the plains. The Shaman who seems to be a shaman of
beavers based on his pelts and bones on his belt greets
the two. The man in his early 70s which is very old for a
Zen'da explains the river is about 12 miles west of them.
While most of the village is leery and wary of the
party the Beaver Shaman welcomes the party to eat and
stay the night. They have some nice fresh food from
fish to antelope. Fremea has to dress again in her
dress to avoid stares but for the most part the party
is watched but not mistreated.
The Shaman named Naib Shu explains the party can cross
the river easily. The beavers up stream have created a
dam making river not that high in most places. This is
their mating season and will allow the party to cross
with ease. A warrior will guide the party to the
crossing point tomorrow.
[Time: 5:34 pm]
As the party warms up and fills out on food it begins
to snow. It is light snow but lasts about 3 hours which
is only about a half inch of snow.

[Janaq 28th, 1635TH]
[Zen'da Western Plains]
[Time: 10:36 am]
The party arrives at the river. The day is mostly
bright and clear. With temperatures the entire day
ranging from 45-64. Indeed the river is now more a
stream as its only a few inches at this point with the
dam a couple miles north of them.
The party has no issue crossing and the warrior guide
departs back to his village.
Some dozen or so miles north of the party they can see
distant hills in a blue haze.
[Time: 4:12 pm]
Another rogue rain storm hits the party for almost
a full hour drenching everyone yet again.

[Janaq 29th, 1635TH]
[Zen'da Western Plains]
[Time: 3:08 am]
Tonight at this time Z'leyra and Unali are on patrol
and sentry. Corona soon reports there are a pack of 8
Hyena in the area. He was able to scare them away with
his eye blasts. But they should be wary. Since half
of the 8 seem to be cubs the adult Hyena must finally get
some sense and do not attack this time.
[Time: 7:02 am]
The party sets out on their last leg maybe only 120
miles to go. The day is overcast most of the day but the
temperature falls to bone cold -7 at one point and only
as warm as 47.
[Time: 8:21 am]
Sleet begins to fall and causes the party to stop and
build shelter. This is when the coldest point comes
to where Kiet has to use his rings to burn a wet and
decayed log for warmth. People and horses huddle together
for warmth as the cold just pulls out any body heat.
By far this is the coldest the party has seen yet.
The sleet lasts about 39 minutes and finally ends.
[Time: 12:31 pm]
A storm arrives with normal rain and thunder causing
more delays for the group. It lasts about half an
hour before it ends.
[Time: 3:12 pm]
A village is found and it is small with only about 50
people in it. They offer a hot soup to warm the party
up for a dinner. But Z'leyra knows they can't stay
as it might endanger this small group. Plus they have
3 or so more hours of riding. But at least the party
is given a warm soup and bread for their stomachs.

[Janaq 30th, 1635TH]
[Zen'da Western Plains]
[Time: 6:42 am]
The day is cloudy but at least it warms up from the
previous day with temperatures from 21 to a warm 69
degrees.
[Time: 12:02 pm]
As the party rests the horses and eat lunch a storm
comes and breaks out. But it only lasts about 7 minutes
barely time to even prepare. The rain is enough to drench
the party but not be a factor.

[Janaq 31st, 1635TH]
[Zen'da Western Plains]
[Time: 6:12 am]
The day is overcast all day with temperatures keeping
the same as the day before ranging from 21-61 degrees.
[Time: 8:21 am]
Another small rain storm hits the area lasting 24 or so
minutes. At this point some are getting a bit annoyed
at the cold and wet. Fuk and Pyan are starting to give
signs of sniffles from possible colds.
[Time: 3:41 pm]
Snow falls lightly for about 25 minutes for a half
inch of snow.
[Time: 5:51 pm]
As the party sets up their tents a storm rolls in.
But it only lasts about 13 minutes but at least folks
can get inside shelter.
It is also getting tougher and tougher to collect
dry fire wood these last week or so.

[Febris 1st, 1635TH]
[Zen'da Western Plains]
[Time: 6:33 am]
The day is a bit better with clear and sunny skies for
most of the day. It also warms up to 53-73 degrees.
[Time: 8:21 am]
A village is found and there is no shaman. So the
head warrior is wary. The most hostile meeting so
far occurs. But Arawn is able to talk his way through
the time and calm the tribe down. It is a small tribe
with only maybe 30 people and a few warriors only.
The tribe explains the Kamaeran border is about 12 or
so miles north of here at the edge of the hills. The
party can spare some water but at this point can't
spare food.
[Time: 3:20 pm]
It become to snow but only for about 10 minutes so
its not a great deal.
[Time: 5:42 pm]
As the sun starts to set the party hears from the
aerial recon the hills and the border is only about
2 miles. Z'leyra considers moving at night to the
border but knows it might lead to encounters with
hill beasts. Plus the party needs to collect fire
wood before sun goes down completely.

[Febris 2nd, 1635TH]
[Zen'da Western Plains]
[Time: 6:41 am]
As the party packs up he asks. "So we are here at the
border. What is the plan now?"
Actions? Comments?
Next Update..Monday??
GM: A short update but I wanted to move us along and lucky
aside from 8 Hyena that avoided party no encounters.
So the party is now at the border. Z'leyra will
need to decide on a path. Through the hills or the
forest. I work Monday so doing a Monday update will
be more difficult. So I may do bulk of it Saturday
and get the math done (so get spells or such by then).
GM: Mana Report updated with experience but not the Magic
spells. I'll do that later so mana and spells not
updated. Congrats to Fremea +1 CEL and some EL boosts
for some see Mana report!
GM: Will update player map.
GM: At this point are now officially 75% done with
the adventure. I will now collect IBT points
and spend them as allocated. Those who did not
allocate IBT too late. I'll assume Horsemanship
or such if not listed. I'll figure out Food and
such at this point I will also update all mana
and spells at this point. Results soon. At
this point will assume no more spells cast. If
you do give me those details ASAP before next week.
