[Recap]
From Z'leyra: [Re: Actions]
Z'leyra would have paid the innkeeper for room and board for
the party and their horses, negotiating if told a rate that she
deemed high.
With the earthquake Z'lyra will attempt to cast Balance
Levitation on herself and those immediately around her at the
highest EL she can cast in one phase. If successful she will
then look to see what might be causing the quake.
GM: Ack. But Kamerans don't use currency but they do use the
currency metals. :)
From Z'leyra: [Re: Actions]
Practicing her bartering, Z'leyra takes out and demonstrates
to the innkeeper the artistry, strength and flexibility of a
belt she had made (and enchanted) back in Sivas. Not mentioning
enchantment or magic and using some misleading talk re various
leathers from various animals that have not seen the north she
truthfully states to the innkeeper that the belt made from such
an animal and treated as this belt has been is worth quite a bit
of copper, a moderate amount of silver or even a small amount of
gold.   She uses her empathy to see what effect this has on
the innkeeper and if he would be inclined to trade the room and
board of the party and their animals for the belt.
GM: Ack.
From Dorhak: [Re: Actions]
Dorhak is enjoying his time at the unveiling. While the...
GM: Ack. I like your rping. Even with lack of info and such
you can fill a scene well. Aside from landing (I edited
that) very well done. I like that aspect of rping rather
than no posting or one liners. Well done!
From Kiet: [Re: Actions]
Kiet is rather looking forward to viewing Z'leyra's..
GM: Ack. I love how you don't cast a spell even knowing could
die in a fall! Keeping to the spirit of the area!
From Arawn: [Re: Actions]
No need for Z'leyra to barter away her stuff. Arawn brought
over the cache of gifts set aside for the tribe when he
translocated to Cetric's village. Here's the list for Z'leyra/
the party to present to local leaders and she can pull some
items from it to secure the
fighting daggers 5 handle slings and bag of projectiles
spices and salt keg of oil
couple of boxes of candles and torches
2 candles 2 oil lanterns
piles of flint and steel
10 bedrolls 20 blankets
10 bags 50' rope fo
bandage rolls soothing herbs
healing herbs 10 sets of sandals
f buckets with 100 nails 2 work hammers
2 hatchets 3 hoes
small assortment of other tools
GM: Ack. Thanks for the help.
From Mae: [Re: Actions]
Maelorna started to get more nervous as they traveled on...
...to shut up, almost driving her to distraction. "A l'qu..
GM: Ack.
From Kiet: [Re: Actions]
Haha...you thought you were going to get something juicy,
didn't you?
My last email was one that I had started but forgot to
send.
Kiet is happy to be simply on a visiting trip instead...
GM: Ack. Juicy eh? Forgot to send? Stuff happens.:):

[New Stuff]
[Febris 9th, 1635TH]
[Kameran Lands - Sharendan Village]
[Time: 1:30 pm]
[Kam Village]
Party arrives at the Inn. Which according to information
is a bit odd for a society who has rare guests to have such
a structure.
Kiet is rather surprised there would be an inn here. Sadly,
he has little to barter with for the stay that wouldn't be way
more than the stay was worth. Next time Kiet thinks he will
need to make some barter items if we enter into uncivilized
areas in the future. Fortunately, jeweled items should be
useful in that case.
Z'leyra brings out one of her artistic moneybelts. She shows
the inn keeper the aspects trying to barter with him.
"It is rather nice. Indeed. But..."
Arawn comes in with a couple sacks and bags. He begins
to pull out the various items and asks what is best
for the owner of this place.
He examines the daggers and slings. He recognizes the
daggers are not the great Kameri metal. He discards them.
But he likes the slings. He loves the blankets and bedrolls.
He loves the spices.
"For the two rooms I'll take the slings and the spices.
To house your animals I'll take all the blankets and bedrolls
for the rooms. They are in good shape and mine are a bit
thread bare."
Z'leyra and Arawn finally get him to barter down to this
one final and Z'leyra begins to nod but he raises a hand.
"And that fine belt of yours. it is rather nice and
should be unique in this village." He smiles.
Fuk raises a hand and asks Arawn to translate. "Why is
this place here? I thought you don't get many visitors?"
"Yes We do not. But we have festivals and clan meetings
from various villages. The lodges are good but they have
to double stack and so the village thought this place would
be good. it is the only such place in the Kameran lands."

Group travels to the statue revealing.
Maelorna started to get more nervous as they traveled on
through the town, she had already pulled the cowl up over her
head but still, it did little to hide her red tresses and made
her even more self- conscious. 'Did they somehow know what
she was?' she questions herself mentally, trying her best to
ignore the voice that has yet to shut up, almost driving her
to distraction. "A l'qu'essan zu'tour phor jal'yur!" she
hisses to herself, hoping she didn't scream it out, but it
does seem to work and she hears only a playfully giggle.
'That's it my little sister.' the voice sounds almost joyous.
Mae steadies herself against whomever is near for a moment,
then moves on. She did regard how most of the group appears
armed or armoured and she isn't certain if her gown and cloak
is considered proper. Granted for her line of talents, a
dagger was more than enough as second-story burglary is more
than useless with as much armour as this group is traveling
about in. Maelorna almost giggles as she can't help but hear
how much noise the group is making.
Though looking about at the rest of the townsfolk and then
back at her group, the difference is striking and the words of
the wolf maiden they ran into when entering the lands comes to
mind. 'Invasion force.'

At the village herbalist shop.
Though his head swam and ears rang Arawn tried his best to
listen to story of the Moni Nut. Although he knew his pain
would hamper any lengthier conversation surrounding the plant
he pushed past to engage them on the medicinal nut. In
particular he pressed them for the story, the legend of the
lost maiden linked to the moni nut.
"Plant-life is a bit of a specialty for me. Perhaps when
this is all done someone could show me this bush."
The herbalist turns from his duty. "The legend? I'm no
expert. It is said some long lost clan had a maiden that
was well loved by her people. But she only cared for
certain animals. She loved those beasts that stored nuts
in their cheeks? it is said she would hunt for weeks on
end looking for new seeds or nuts for the animals. One
day some monster attacked and killed her. The details
I can't recall. But in the process her blood with what
she collected is said to be the first said bush. But
I do not see such stories as true."

Arawn chatted with Linsz as they walked, the symptoms of the
overwhelming presence shifting but enough of a distraction to
force him to do more listening than talking. He was curious
as to why Z'lart and his family were sharing space with her
and Barda, curious as well as to whether Barda had anything
to do with the statue. And, ever looking ahead, he sought her
knowledge of recent events, of anything that might guide the
party's future actions.
"Why? They are friends. They share the same love of stone.
He even taught Z'lart a bit. You'd think we'd let him stay
in some lodge and not us?" She looks a bit offended at the
lack of hospitality.

With a gladdened heart, Maelorna happily talks with Lucria,
relaying a few jokes she remembered from the brothel she stayed
at, fortunately they aren't as dirty as such. She does try her
best to remain near him.
Lucria welcomes the company of the red head. After their
fun last night both have a better understanding of each other.
Lucria even whispers about some of he more enticing hunts he
has had including a rich noble's daughter who did not believe
in wearing clothes and loved mud baths.

Minutes before the earthquake.
Kiet is rather looking forward to viewing Z'leyra's brother's
work on the statue. While Kiet's own skills don't run toward
that artistry, his work with jewelry is an art in itself, so he
knows how to at least appreciate the work. Thinking of the
statue makes him think about his little bird statue he's been
hauling around. He is rather fond of it.
The time here has been interesting, though Kiet is unsure
about it being productive. At least there aren't any more naked
Pyan's running around. Kiet is rather annoyed at the
restrictions on use of magic by any of us men, using the term
loosely with Arawn (no insult intended!), but understands it.
He just doesn't like it. It's too similar to the restrictions
in Katai, or in Zarun...the unenlightened barbarians! Magic is
such a gift! To deny it's use is simply denying reality.

[Time: 4:44 pm]
[Kam Village]
Mae watches the crowd around her as they watch her.
The covered statue doesn't interest her in the least, the
townsfolk about her however, does pique her interest more than
a little. With well-practiced eyes she notes who might have
what jewelry and who might be a viable mark. But as for the
stonework statue, her only interest is honestly what valuables
they may have used to enhance it's desired beauty, such as
what can be pried free.
The statue is revealed and as expected, she can see the
precious materials used but finds little else of interest.
Kiet is happy to be simply on a visiting trip instead of
something more like a mission. While we still have to finish
up with Z'leyra's sister and get this supposed murder thing
cleared up, the time in between has passed normally pleasant
enough.
This statue unveiling is an example. It's simple. Uncomplicated.
Kiet sees that he can relax a bit and not have to worry too much.
Still, he makes sure his Tulwar is loose in the scabbard. One
can't be too careful in this line of work. Kiet keeps his eyes
open, especially watching the crowd. Still gotta watch out for
Z'leyra.
The unveiled statue is certainly worth looking at. Well
proportioned, but mostly due to the precious metals incorporated
in the work. An interesting mix of color, but somewhat gaudy
in Kiet's mind. Still, it's way more than Kiet could do
himself! It might prove useful to talk to Z's brother and
learn about the technique. Who knows when something like that
could come in handy
*******************
[Time: 4:46 pm]
[Kam Village]
Dorhak is enjoying his time at the unveiling. While the
humans, and others, are rather annoying, at least the Gods of
stone and silence likely appreciate the statue. Dorhak does.
Not up to Dwarven standards, be a good effort by a human. The
metallic work in addition to the stone is quite interesting.
Unfortunately, his enjoyment is rather short lived. The
ground starts to rumble and move, like waves upon the seas. As
a dwarf, earthquakes are one of the few things that truly
frighten his people. While Dorhak does not squeal, his rumbling
voice is an octave or so higher than before, and his complexion
goes rather pale. He thanks the gods of stone and silence that
he's outside and not in a warren. These sorts of things are
prevented back home by the honored Rune Masters, mostly by
putting up barriers to the demons and Elementals that might
cause such.
The noise of the rumbling offends his intellectual senses,
but scares the goblin crap out of him emotionally. He prefers
the silence! Suddenly the ground opens up beneath him and he's
falling, though a thankfully short distance. While it's not a
graceful landing, at least he does hit dirt without some
embarrassing injury. Gods! What would that freakishly tall
elf (as if they aren't all!) say or impune? Creepy being.
At least Dorhak believes he makes land fall. In fact his
tumble is through sand, dirt and rocks. It seems to go
on forever.
Dorhak's trying to get his balance and back to his feet before
the earth swallows him up completely, Goibniu forbid it! He
sees the little fairy girl heading toward him, wondering what
she thinks she's going to do. He must weigh over 17 stone!
But then that bright flash, an even louder roar, then
darkness! Darker than even the greatest dwarven mines.
The thrill of falling is less appealing than Maelorna
expected, especially when the ground gives way and she manages
to fall into the darkness.
Uh-oh! The ground starts shaking and Kiet isn't really sure
why. On his home island such things happen on occasion, but
not quite this strong. Not sure what to do, other than be
outside, he's kept busy just trying to stay on his feet. He
considers throwing a spell, but dismisses it. While it might
not be noticed now, beside the distraction the quake is causing,
the cast might be noticed and Kiet doesn't want to be blamed
for the quake!
The quake gets more powerful, and the ground starts opening
up!!! Kiet is just about ready to dig into his magic tokens
when there is a bright, too bright flash and a boom that just
about knocks him back. Unfortunately, he may never know how
far...because everything goes black.
*******************
[Time: 4:48 pm]
Darkness.
Boom.
Ebbing vibrations.
Z'leyra and others try spells to prevent death or
damage. But things go so fast. Suddenly one minute
the group is standing on grass the next the group is
falling into a sink hole.
Then a bright light.
Pain. Confusion. Being dazed.
Then light returns to the group. Suddenly the group starts
to stir. Some start to open their eyes and are confused.
Eyes see walls. Eyes see skylights where light is streaming
down into the window in the ceiling. Others see dirt and
sand 1-3 feet tall in patches all around.
Z'leyra slams her back into the ceiling of the room
with her spell forcing her upwards in a giant push.
Some see Unali floating above them towards a wall and
slamming into it. Some assume that maybe she was caught
in some spell Z'leyra cast. Slamming into the wall she
slides down and begins to fly toward another wall.
Kiet who is now sitting up sees Unali flying toward her
it seems out of control. But he sees she will probably
impact against the wall and tries to grab Unali. Grabbing
her the force of the spell cast by Z'leyra or whatever is
strong enough to push Kiet sliding against the stone floor.
Both impact against the wall but with less force Unali
slumps down into Kiet's lap and he holds on tight. Inside
he grins this is one way to get close to the maiden.
Lying on his back on a pile of rocks and sand Dorhak notices
red in front of his eyes and begins to panic thinking it
is blood. Then he tastes human hair as Mae on top of him
grunts. Dorhak pushes the girl off him and spits off the
sand and grit in his mouth.
Mournath kneels on his hands and legs and notices boots
under a pile of sand and rocks. He realizes the sand is
has buried Kell and begins to pull the rocks and sand off
Kell's torso.
Pyan somehow slams into the side of some table and hit
his hip hard and tumbles to the ground.
Fuk and Lucria are both knocked into each other and roll
onto and discarded gear. Lucria looks around for Mae
and starts to crawl toward her.
Fremea appears at the top of the room slamming her head into
a oil lantern forcing her to dive and weave. She regains
her balance and hovers in the air.
Arawn is about 20 feet from the others near one set of
columns. His pain and headache seem to be completely gone.
Around the room are 5 other villages. Three adult females
One kid around 12 and he does not seem to be moving. One
adult male who also does not seem to be moving. The females
stir grabbing their bodies in pain.
The room itself is about 100 feet wide and 100 feet long.
It is about 10 feet high. Skylights are dotted around the
room giving most of the room light. There are oil lanterns
every 15 or so feet as well lit. There are columns holding
the ceiling up every 30 feet from wall to wall.
Arawn glances behind and sees a set of two large stone
doors. There does not seem to be doorknobs. Then Arawn
sees the table that Pyan must've hit. it is a flat table
shaped like a T with the top wider than base. The base is
5 feet and top 8 feet by 5 feet. It almost looks like
a altar as Arawn can see runes and blazing sets of magical
aura around it. As his vision and mind clears from the pain
he is drawn to the alter.
Z'leyra wakes and tries to control her levitate spell
but she needs help from Fuk and Fremea to make her vertical.
e As Arawn gets within 5 feet he sees Balance and Sidh sigils
and runes all over the base he is facing and what little he
can read of the top.
All along the floor are discarded gear, sand and rocks.
Some have lost their weapons or personal items. Z'leyra
wonders why this room is so large for a simple table with
no other furniture? She has not seen such a room before.
Just as Z'leyra gets vertical a clank to the far south
where the stone doors are seen. More clanks and the one side
of the door opens. A form appears. A female form. She
is carrying a large tray. She stares at the mess.
"What..who..."
She runs forward 10 feet. "What is going on. Intru-"
Fuk behind the woman draws his dagger and pulls it around
to the neck of the woman. "Don't yell, Z'lena."
He speaks these words in Marentia but the meaning is clear.
The woman stops. Z'leyra turns and faces the sister she has
not seen in a decade. Now with a dagger to her throat.
Z'lena notices Z'leyra. "Z'leyra? What...are you doing
in the Moss Fortress?"
The party examines the new girl and she does look indeed
to be a twin sister. But she seems younger maybe 2-3 years
younger. Does this mean Z'leyra uses magic to look older
or younger?

Next Update.. Wednesday?
GM: A good place to stop. This scene will go fast. But a new
situation is now worse. I've told you guys my old pc
from 2000 has all my pnp files. I do the updates there.
I told you a dead fan. Well today I looked at Bios and
the temperature. it scared me. So my big priority is
to get a new fan for the pc. I hope I can do this Tue/wed.
If I can't then I don't know the risk keeping this pc on
for too long. I thought it was warm but not that hot.
So I hope to fix soon. Also to maybe get a new cd or
such so I can transfer all my pnp files to new pc. If I
do not then I will try to risk one more update Wednesday
afternoon. Since I'm doing this early consider this the
Monday update. I know its a odd schedule. But its the
best I can do with stuff going on. So will start update
Wednesday afternoon UNLESS I take to shop that day. Then
it will be probably Sat/Monday. Just a FYI. If I can't
get it fixed (time wise) then may have to halt the game
until fixed. If so will post in list if that happens.
But wanted to give fair warning.
GM: Necklace Use [Reminder to myself]
