Z'leyra will ask our fearless
leader if she may learn Dwarf Elder by use of the
necklace. If granted she will ask him to speak in
Dwarf Elder while she uses the necklace to learn to speak that language.
GM: Ack. No uses today but next 'day' when that is down here.
From Dorhak: [Re: Actions]
Dorhak looks back with an
expression that’s hard to read. "Aye.

From Z'leyra [Re: Necklace]
Oops, my mistake. I blame my bad
memory. Turns out that Z'leyra already knows
Dwarf Elder. (speaking, though not reading). So
she will assist someone else to learn some language.
GM: Ack.

[Ma 9th, 1636TH]
[Time: 10:17 pm MW time]
Z'leyra asks Dorhak on using necklace to learn Dwarf.
Dorhak looks back with an expression
that’s hard to read. "Aye. Of course ye
can. It’s not like it’s a secret language. Even Raddok knows it!"
Z'leyra uses necklace but nothing
happened. Either it failed or ran out of uses for the day.

[Ma 10th, 1636TH – or is it?]
[Time: 6:14 am MW time]
Party breaks camp after a breakfast
of fresh bird eggs found by Pyan and Fremea and
some nice blue berries. Some have simple rations.
The party heads out north into the
mountains – or at least it is assumed
north. This lack of stars or the sun is
distressful. It is deep dark but it has been 8
long hours of good sleep so party should be
fresh. The odd colorful overhead lights blink on
the brown and white plains all around making them
a kaleidoscope of shifting waves.
Even if its dark visibility is about
half a mile so with the open plains it is
difficult to impossible to plan a ambush. There
are plenty of bushes and trees but most are so
sparse its not a good hiding spot. So with this
said the party can spread out and a bit more relaxed state.

After 4 hours the party takes a lunch
break. Fremea flies to the watering hole they
saw last recon before sleeping before it got
dark. A light meal is made and the party rests a bit.
Barbosa asks the King, “What is your
experience here? Will the other Bes back at the cave find their way here?”
The King eats some fruit from his
bag. “Most are stories. Before becoming King I
came here to do some rituals and ceremonial
stuff. Humans would call it a wakl-around or
walk abut? As you may guess not many Bes in
Lower Regions. I visited the dwarves...” he
looks around. “I used our portal ability. We
could use that for now. But I suspect it could
close if only 1 person entered. Regardless, the
dwarves here treated me the same as Dorhak did
initially. It took awhile to get them used to
me. The dwarves here are old style and set in
their ways. So secluded they have no idea of
what is going on in middle world. When I went
back it was 4.5 months later. Unsure how long I
stayed here. Beyond that its mostly stories. In
fact I asked around. Our dwarf allies back home
rarely venture here. Its not a normal thing
unless they have some agenda. As to the
Bes. I've been leaving signs as best I can. If
they stick to a path due north as we did they
should find our camp. I left a tree bark note
and we should be leaving plenty of footprints
that a blind Bes female could track us!”

Finally the first twinges of daylight
shines as the colorful lights soon end. It'll
take a few more hours of that odd eerie daylight to shine.
Arawn notices as they walk everyone –
mostly but especially the magic users – aura is
fully flashing. It seems the mana has returned to the party.
[Time: 5:01 pm MW time]
It is getting brighter and so party
uses spyglasses to get a better view with the
mountains about an hour away now. Unali, Arawn
and Fremea use each of their own spyglass (or
found from silo) and discuss best places to
go. Most guess slightly north east is best place
to go so the party shifts in that area.
Fremea decides to fly ahead to scout out.
GM: Actions? Comments?
Next update....Wed/Sat?
GM: A short update but no
encounters. I will email Tobie the details on
his recon once he reaches mountains. I'll have
to run the numbers and see how long he has to
spend before party arrives at edge of
mountains. After that he can give said report
for any decisions to be made. As to next week my
last 3 days off till September. IF I did a
update it'd be Wednesday. If not or feel not in
mood will be Saturday. After that we shall see
on 2 updates a week but likely once a week if
things get hectic. ;) If no update then Merry
Christmas and happy holidays to all! I'm sure
we'll be glad for 2020 to end. Stay tuned! BTW
Monday 12/21 is the Great Conjunction – Jupiter
and Saturn so close in sky it will form the
“Christmas Star.” An event not seen for 800
years. Google local details as it will vary on
times to you or direction. For me its after
sunset in SE. But best to google it for an event
we'll not see again. To clarify, Mana Regen is
back when the spell failed it erased the entire
Casting Ability pool. So you regen the normal
amount for that day so not much mana but some
mana. But only Arawn knows this for now.
