GM: All right! I'm about 85% done with Arawn's stuff.
Below is his encounters. I'm still working on
magic and then updating character sheet. I wanted
to post the encounters first so that the next
update will have the STARTING adventure post.
So wake up! Game starts soon for all those who
have been bored for last 2 months :) Holidays
are over time for some Adventure...and death! (Evil Grin).
Actions? Comments?
Next update Wednesday... 1/16/08
GM: In the next few updates I hope to cover new rules
for the game. As old players know as characters
get beefed up I have to balance it. So as I think
of them will give them so you guys aren't caught
off guard. Shouldn't result in but just 1 or 2
maybe 3 MAX deaths for the party. :)

* Arawn's IBT Actions
[Decalis 25 - 28 - Arawn teleports back to Sivas with the party and
is shown briefly the town and tavern. Upon seeing Cholan's hand
Arawn offers to heal it but Cholan refuses. Saying it gives him
character. Z'leyra and other healers have tried and failed. After
half a year he has gotten used to it. Going on his vision of the
Claw and Mountain, Arawn attempts to further memorize the vision of
the mountain. Then using this memory he projects an illusion of the
memory. He asks if anyone recognizes the mountain but not surprising
no one does. It looks like any mountain seen. In the next couple
days he gets a scribe to make a visual copy on paper. Eventually upon
returning to the forest none of the druids also recognize the
mountain picture. Arawn seeks out sages in Sivas but not many are
around. Kaylle doesn't even recognize the mountain image. Without
some form of reference most fear it could be any mountain out there.
In the brief 4 days in town he also learns nothing of the gray
creatures and their strange items. He would ask the sages about the
Rune Master and Portal legend Bohusara spoke of. But again the sages
do not know of the specific legend being hundreds of miles from the
forest. But the sages do mention stories of portals created by
wizards that allow them to go to the lower world and upper world.
This is nothing new to most who know the travel powers. Some portals
however may be made by wizards and others by gods or creatures or
supernatural forces. While not so common today many existed over
the centuries. Arawn also asks about the parchment found with the
Brain and other information found on it that seems to lead to Katai.
But again the sages have no information on the matter. Sivas is not
known for its scholarly pursuits but Kaylle will try to research it
further when he returns to Malnon and his library. The name Chu yu
though is a common Katai and eastern name that one detail all sages
agree to. Arawn spends the time looking for magic items and magical
natural items. Arawn also visits shops to buy new gear and clothing
for himself. In the four days he also practices his scimitar skill.]
GM: Details of mountain vision in Update #1 for this adventure and
for portal legend Adventure #3 (still on website) update #86.
[Decalis 25 - 8:08am - While with the party at the Green Eye tavern
in Sivas just returned from their adventure, Arawn drinks with his
face covered. The others encourage him to take the face wrap off as
it tends to scare many folks. Not minutes after they warn them some
artist is drinking a table next to the party. He keeps staring at
Arawn and taunts him saying why is Arawn too good to show his face?
Finally the man stands and comes over. Farseeker and Cholan end the
situation when they escort them out the door. Farseeker warns Arawn
that covering his face looks like a bandit in a city. Guards will
accost him often so be alert. Around 8:31pm while walking in a
military area a criminal comes around the corner that Arawn didn't
notice. He tries to bump and cut Arawn's purse but fails. Arawn
draws his sword but the man runs away. A quick chase ensues. After
a full minute Arawn continues to chase the man but the man knows the
streets better than Arawn. After 2 minutes the man is lost and gets
away.]
[Decalis 26 - Around 5:20pm while walking in the Rich District of town
near some shops a beggar approaches Arawn. But when he sees his face
covered and how he carries himself the beggar draws up his bag of Brass
bits and heads down a side street to avoid Arawn. Arawn notices this
and if a Beggar is scared of arawn maybe that's a good thing?]
[Decalis 27 - No Encounters.]
[Decalis 28 - Around 5pm while in a shop that sells natural magical
items Arawn finds many items he can buy. But the merchant seems
clearly disturbed by Arawn's face wrap. Arawn gets the impression
the merchant doesn't like non-humans. He increases the price as
much as 50% over normal price and when Arawn seems interested seems
to ignore his requests. Arawn eventually has to leave the shop.]
[Decalis 29 - Arawn is teleported up to the forest. He practices
Scimitar skill. Arawn explains his intent in the forest to further
investigate the creatures. Bohusara re-warns that since the Zen'da
shaman came to the cabin and likely got the souls of the enemy she
warns his chances are slim of learning more info from the spirits.
As she warned previously. No one wishes to join him as they feel it
a useless journey. Bohusara says she will not be going to her cabin
so if he goes there he should not cast any magic there as its sacred
ground more or less.] Arawn sets out for the Vassa cabin in the east
that afternoon.]
[Decalis 30 - 31 - No encounters. Arawn continues east.]
[Janaq 1 - Around 9:17am an Eagle dives for a rabbit that Arawn
was hunting. The eagle dives and grabs it and flies off with it.
Arawn arrives at the cabin in the east. He finds it deserted as
expected and still in ruins. It has been picked over by Vassa and
Zen'da alike. Arawn searches but finds nothing of interest. Arawn
attempts to talk to the spirits using magic. But he finds no spirit
comes to him. He tries again on one of the witches. Still nothing.
Again twice more the next 2 witches and still no spirits. Arawn
sighs. The shaman must've destroyed or captured their spirits as
Bohusara warned, her wisdom comes true again. Arawn will find no
clues here today he fears. He prepares the ground and area for an
Akasha spell. Late that night he casts the spell where the redhead
was killed. The spell works but he only sees the cabin in ruins.
His skill in the spell is not great enough it seems to bring the
past to light.]
[Janaq 2 -Arawn gets to Lake Oca and explores around the shore and
where the enemy camp and shed was. It has been cleared and cleaned
out by the Vassa days before. No sign of interference or the sea
creature is there. The area where the growths were is also all gone
cut by the Vassa or druids days ago. Arawn shape changes again into
a fish and spends some time exploring the depths of the lake. He
finds only clear and clean water. No sign of trouble or interference.
Bohusara's spell must've worked well. Of course the Druids probably
came and helped clean it further days after the solstice. Back in
normal form Arawn swims in the lake awhile to practice his swimming
skill. Later Arawn summons an elemental, an undine shows up in the
water. He tries to question her about the nymph story but she doesn't
understand him. He realizes he doesn't know her language so casts a
communicate spell and asks again. But the elemental does not know
the story of a local legend like it. Arawn soon has to banish the
undine. Late in the afternoon Arawn constructs a natural altar of
limbs and other natural items to his father. He prays for some time
in the area and hopes others will see the area and understand its
purpose to give honor to his parents. None of his prayers are
answered however.]
[Janaq 3 - Travel to Bohusara's cabin.]
[Janaq 4 - No encounters.]
[Janaq 5 - Near sunset Arawn encounters a Molani in the trees seems to
be following him. The Molani seems curious of Arawn but does not
attack or come closer than a few hundred feet. Eventually its clan
calls him or he loses interest and leaves the area.]
[Janaq 6 - No encounters as Arawn continues to Bohusara's cabin.]
[Janaq 7 - Arawn arrives at the cabin after a bit of hunting as he
doesn't recall the area as well as he should. With help from other
Vassa he arrives. At the cabin he finds only Strie'bog. Bohusara
is still in the sacred forest. Both spend the day together. He
considers going to the village that took care of the bird he helped.
But Strie'bog explains it is at least 5 days to the west on the
border. The forest through Miklav can learn its status quicker
than Arawn can travel there. That night both hear boars in the
forest but decide not to bother the creatures.]
[Janaq 8 - Mar 14 - Arawn spends time in the Pavassa Forest and will
return to Marentia on Marqi 15. He practices Scimitar, Horsemanship,
Bow, Sword, Shield and Cosmology skills among a few others during
this time.]
[Janaq 8 - No encounters.]
[Janaq 9 - Arawn attends a Ceremony at the Sidh Castle with Thig,
Bohusara, Strie'bog, Miklav and Mertz among others. It is a ceremony
dedicated to the new year and to the future of the forest. It really
turns out to just be a great party and festival for poem reading,
singing, music, dancing, drinking, gaming and showing off skills of
combat.]
[Janaq 10 - No Encounters.
[Janaq 11 - Around 8:24am while in the forest near a Vassa village
Arawn is among 6 others (3 human adults, 1 child and 1 Elf). The group
is heading to the village to deliver food and supplies to the village.
On a break the child screams and 3 wolves chase the child right into
the open where the group is. Three other solves join in and don't
discover the great amount of people or they'd probably not have
attacked. Two of the adult humans and the Elf go to attacking off
the wolves. Arawn joins in with his scimitar. Arawn kills one after
a few short seconds and the others kill 2 others. The other 3 wolves
flee not wanting to deal with the others. CEP:30]
[Janaq 12 - No Encounters.]
[Janaq 13 - Around 9:47pm Arawn is in the Sacred Forest just outside
the Sidh castle getting some air when he sees a female Fay Horse in
the forest below the castle roof. He watches the horse eat and
acknowledge Arawn with a nod of its head then turn and enter the
darkness beyond the castle grounds. From the roof Arawn watches it
leaves and figures it to be a female due to its shorter height.]
[Janaq 15 - No Encounters.]
[Janaq 16 - Around 12:07pm - Arawn is on his horse going to a village
to check on reports of injuries from a fire when he spots 3 wolves in
front of him snarling near the path. He then discovers 5 more behind
him. He knows he couldn't handle 8 on his own likely and he can't
flee away and leave his horse to be in danger. The last few days has
been bad with heavy snow so food may be scarce for the wolves to make
them hungry. His only option is to tell the horse to be still and
then he casts a invisibility spell on himself and the horse making
them disappear in the snow laden forest. The wolves come close and
sniff the ground and whimper. One brushes up against Arawn but seems
to get confused by the missing horse. The alpha leader barks a few
orders and the pack heads west into the forest. After a few seconds
the spell ends and he speeds off to the village. He will have to warn
the villages of the roaming pack.]
[Janaq 17 - Around 2:39pm - Arawn is in the forest looking for natural
materials and herbs when he spots to the right of him about 200 feet
a beautiful Vily on a horse. She stares at Arawn and her Elven bow
remains on her back. She eyes Arawn and nods. While the Vily gives
deference to Arawn the Alfar, Arawn gives deference to the forest
protector. For several long moments both stare at each other. She
then nods and turns her horse and heads east. Arawn is unsure to
give chase as it might upset the Vily so doesn't.]
[Janaq 18 - No encounters.]
[Janaq 19 - Around 10:13am far from the Sacred Forest on a exploration
trip of the Forest Arawn hears screams in the south. He rides fast
through the snow and finds in the distance a wagon of 3 humans is
being attacked by a forest giant. Two humans are trying to keep the
giant at bay with bows while one has fallen to the ground and knocked
out. Arawn rides close and dismounts telling his horse to stay clear.
Using his forest ability he hides in the forest growth and gets close.
It is too bright to use spells so he decides since the creature is
Kotothi on a good dispersion spell. Arawn recalls how he came to
this forest being chased by one of these beasts. As arrows hit
tissue the giant only gets angry and smashes the wagon splinttering
wood all over the place. Arawn casts his dispersion spell once and
the giant screams as magical energy hits his body (but isn't seen).
The giant turns around in confusion and looks around for the new
enemy. But Arawn moves again and casts it but it fails. One more
arrow hits the creature in the arm making the giant drop his limb.
Arawn casts his spell again and does more damage to the creature.
But a 3rd time fails. Two more arrows hit the giant in the chest as
the Giant staggers from blood loss. Arawn finishes off the giant
with the last spell doing damage to wipe out his life force. The
giant falls into bushes dead. Arawn exits the forest and helps the
3 humans. But the wagon is clearly destroyed but at least the horses
got away from damage. The humans only have minor injuries and need no
healing. CEP 95. Maybe the wolves will finish off the giant and have
some good food to not attack humans.]
[Janaq 20 - No Encounters.]
[Janaq 21 - Near sunset in the Sacred Forest Arawn sees a Human talking
about various adventures in the far west. The adventurer seems to
welcome the company and tells of stories of places in the far west
and says he just likes to travel. He found the Humagi quite
unfriendly and avoided them at all cost. The human speaks Elf Sidh
it seems quite well. He talks of a place called Loch Svear which
Arawn hasn't heard of. As the evening goes on and the stories get
exaggerated around 9:23pm Arawn notices a Cu Sith in the forest
passing by. He wonders if the Sith is off on some errand for a sidh?]
[Janaq 22 - While Arawn is exploring north of the Sacred Forest around
9:06am he uncovers a boar sleeping den. Two boars are asleep but one
wakes up quickly and charges. Arawn has only a second to draw his
scimitar and defend against the large tusked animal. Arawn is able
to kill it after 3 blows with only a minor scratch in return. The
other boar in the process fled into the high bush undergrowth and
left the area. Arawn puts the boar on his horse and takes it to a
Vassa village he knows is low on winter food kills.]
[Janaq 23 - 26 - No Encounters.]
[Janaq 27 - 11:39pm - Arawn is awoken by noise in the Vassa village
he has visited. There are 12 humans mounted on horses with torches
and weapons. They inform Arawn a young boy was just killed by a
pack of wolves. They are after the pack. Arawn decides the human
hunt could be dangerous for them so decides to mount up and help them
out with his forest skills. Using his night vision and skills he
tracks down with the others the wolves and the Vassa slaughter the
wolves so they don't hurt anyone else. Normally they would just
relocate them to a different part of the forest but since they have
human blood on them now they will likely seek other humans out. The
"local" druid agrees to this action after a couple of days later on
judgement. The druid rules the forest is in balance but an offering
should be given by the Vassa hunters in exchange. The druid of higher
rank than Arawn but of less station than Arawn directs him to perform
the simple ceremony which even Arawn knows. The ceremony is performed
days later on Janaq 31.]
[Janaq 28 - No Encounters.]
[Janaq 29 - Little after midnight Miklav comes quickly almost oddly
fast to the sidh castle. He alerts Mertz that 2 Terrestial demons
have been seen by the forest and approaching a village. Mertz and 2
Elves head out with a druid to handle the demons. By the time they
are deposited outside by the sacred forest into the main forest Arawn
learns of the attack too late. He mounts up and tries to give chase
to help. By the time Mertz arrives one demon has tried and failed to
attack one human male as the villagers cower the Elves attack as the
Druid casts spells. As Arawn arrives he sees one red eyed demon
disappear likely banished by the Druid. The other seems wounded by
Mertz and Arawn dismounts to cast a quick dispersion spell. The
demon gives a growl from Arawn's energy attack and is distracted
enough for the Druid to finish and banish him. The villagers are
all safe but checked over for wounds. But all are safe. If it
weren't for Miklav's power of 'observation' of the forest the
attack could've been worse.]
[Janaq 30 - Around 1:23pm - Arawn is helping a villager miles from the
sacred forest gather some wood for the village fire. He hears
movement behind him and spots a tiger stalking the human female. He
casts a flight spell to gain height into a tree over the tiger and
isn't seen. With a heavy thud he drops a large log onto the tiger's
head knocking it out. The female runs to the village and returns
with hunters who tie the knocked out tiger out and will relocate the
tiger to a cage and then further away from villages.]
[Janaq 31 - Arawn performs the ceremony to give the forest balance by
offering tribute and offerings to the forest. The entire day the
village does nothing but helps the forest from trimming dead limbs
to cleaning poisonous moss to helping animals out to give back to
the forest among many other actions.]
[Febris 1 - Arawn is out exploring the forest when he spots 7 Vassa
hunters in the distance tracking some game.]
[Febris 2 - 5 - No Encounters.]
[Febris 6 - After 2:04pm - Arawn is in the forest looking for herbs for
Miklav when he finds a Vassa lying in the grass. Arawn checks him
and finds him cold and dead. He finds two puncture wounds in his
arm like he was struck by a snake. But no sign of the snake is found
just the walking stick the man had. Arawn puts the dead man on his
horse and takes it back for someone to bury.]
[Febris 7 - 8 - No encounters.]
[Febris 9 - Around 11:31am - Arawn rides in the forest and spots 10
hunters. This time they are carrying various animals like boars,
deer, rabbits and birds. The hunters offer food to Arawn and
explains they are heading to the far eastern villages to deliver
the game for food supplies.]
[Febris 10 - 13 - No Encounters.]
[Febris 14 - Near 1pm Arawn encounters 10 walking Vassa with only clubs
and sticks. They do not speak to Arawn for some time but finally
under pressure give in. Arawn learns they are outcasts from the
other vassa villages due to various crimes and punishments. Since it
is the new year they are allowed to seek Miklav and Bohusara for new
judgements and see if they can appeal or become part of Vassa society
again. Arawn wishes them luck and they continue toward the east.
Around 8:30pm Arawn is heading back to the sacred forest area when
he spots 2 wolves. They growl at him but seem calm. Arawn casts a
peace spell and tells the horse to move on quickly as they seem calm
for a short while.]
[Febris 15 - Around 9:06am - A bear charges Arawn on his horse likely
for being in his territory. Arawn figures the bear is grouchy from
being awoken from his hibernation early before spring. Arawn tells
the horse to flee as he can outrun the bear. Arawn casts a flight
spell and climbs high into a tree distracting the bear while the
horse gets away. Arawn watches the bear and studies it wondering
how humans can use the skin like those traders Unali got some stuff
from. Soon the bear loses interest and leaves the area and Arawn
regains his horse.]
[Febris 16 - No Encounters.]
[Febris 17 - Around 11:25am - Arawn is riding to a village when he
spots a Cait sith moving fast through the trees and seems to disappear
as quickly as Arawn spots him. Likely on another errand for some
other sidh?]
[Febris 18 - No Encounters.]
[Febris 19 - Around 5:42am - Arawn hears noise from his bed chamber in
the Sidh Castle. He comes outside to see Thig and Mertz heading out
to deal with a captured Forest Giant. seems two forest Vily druids
and Vassa were able to capture a Giant. The vassa demand him killed
as well as Miklav and Mertz wishes him. The Druids are neutral on the
matter but Arawn tries to discuss freeing the Giant after it is moved
to the far north west corner of the forest where it is not so populated
by villages. After some time of debate Miklav and Bohusara place a
Geas of some sort on the Giant and compel him to behave as he is led
by a large group to the north west where it will be relocated. Arawn
is happy at the sight but knows it could take months to train the giant
to be friendly. Miklav is concerned about Arawn's friendly nature to
the Giant especially a Kotothi creature but bows down to the Alfar
this time in his request. Arawn knows he may be heading back to
Marentia soon so may not see the giant again to help it.]
[Febris 20 - 22 - No encounters.]
[Febris 23 - Around 2:!5pm Arawn is walking in the forest to the east
of the Sacred forest looking for a certain plant for Miklav. As he
walks he hears a man's muffled screams and runs to investigate. In a
clearing he sees bushes attacking the man. Arawn blinks his eyes and
sees the bushes seem to have form of a human but much smaller? They
seem to be made up of plant material and seem to be beating the man.
Arawn calls out to stop them and the plants stop. Two of the 5 plant
creatures run forward and Arawn slinks into the forest and hides.
This gives the man time to get up and flee a few feet as the plants
turn and chase the man Arawn finds him and casts a quick teleport
spell to get out of the area back to the area he was just at minutes
prior. The man begins to yell at Arawn upset that he didn't get his
resin. Arawn talks to the man and tries to calm him down but the man
still simmers as both enter into the village. Miklav explains they
were Bush Warriors and the man had killed 2 for their healing resin.
The Bush Warriors must've been defending their own kind. As punishment
the man is sent to work with a Vily on protection duties for a month.
The man protests but knows Miklav is powerful and relents to the
judgement. Arawn returns to the area but finds no "dead" plants
or resin.]
[Febris 24 - Arawn is in the forest riding with medical supplies to a
nearby village. Around 2:36pm he notices a group of 6 in the forest
off the path. One is in gray robes of a druid and others are Vassa
sitting around him. Arawn approaches and sees the druid is teaching
the 5 humans things about the forest. But when he sees he is
disrupting the class (by his status and appearance) he leaves them
to the teachings.]
[Febris 25 - 26 - No Encounters.]
[Febris 27 - Arawn wakes up from dreams of his family and goes outside
to the castle roof. Alone in the cool night he watches the sacred
forest and its illusion of utopia. Knowing that outside this
protective shell others would give anything to rid the sacred forest
of its forces and rulers. That Pan'to was just one character that
almost got through the veil to do harm. As he considers all this he
hears a sneeze and looks up to one of the tower tops where most can't
get to without some doing. He sees Vul'heim the Queen sitting on a
small ledge also looking out. She notices him walk away not wanting
to disturb her and she flies down to join them. There on a bench
they talk for the next couple hours about various things. Arawn
tries to learn of the relationship with Thig but his indirect
prodding gets no answers. Arawn finds this informal meeting is
nicer than all they've had in the past.]
[Febris 28 - No Encounters.]
[Febris 29 - Around 1:41pm Arawn comes to the Sacred Forest Village
clearing and finds a party going on. Seems two Vassa have been
married and there are 3 entertainers there singing, dancing and
playing music. Miklav asks Arawn to bless the couple.]
[Febris 30 - Near sunset Arawn spots in the Sacred Forest 2 more Fay
Horses. One is male and the other is a younger female likely trying
to breed. He watches them play in the clearing for some time.]
[Marqi 1 - No Encounters.]
[Marqi 2 - From his favorite spot on the roof of the Sidh Castle Arawn
watches a Eagle dive up and down among the forest trees. Just before
3pm the Eagle lands on the ledge of the castle and drops a dead rat
at the feet of Arawn. Confused another Elf explains the eagles
sometimes do that to offer a sort of offering to the castle every
once in awhile. It is said the one who is given the offering is
destined to have good luck for the near future. Arawn decides to
play with the eagle and changes into a raven and flies with the bird.
Normally a raven might attack an eagle but the Eagle seems to
understand and both enjoy flying together for a brief while.]
[Marqi 3 - It is near sunrise and Arawn is outside a village gathering
berries for the Vassa. He enjoys being in the forest this early and
alone to pray. As he nears a area about 2 miles east of the village
he spots a Elf with a Elven bow on his back with his back turned to
Arawn. Feeling friendly he approaches and says hello. The elf seems
not to notice until Arawn gets within a few feet. Then the Elf turns
around but Arawn realizes its no Elf but a Daoine Sidh. The Daoine
pulls out a sword and charges Arawn. Before Arawn can react he drops
the bucket and pulls his own sword to defend himself. The daoine hits
Arawn in the left arm doing 1 point of damage. Arawn stabs the Daoine
in the left shoulder doing 7 points of damage. The Daoine stabs
Arawn in the lower right abdomen under the ribs doing 7 points of
damage to Arawn. Arawn swings but fails to strike. The Daoine
swings but fails to hit. Arawn misses again as both seem to dodge
and weave. Suddenly the Daoine swings high and hits Arawn in the
head and Arawn goes flying backwards from the hit and hits a tree.
As Arawn sees the smirking daoine approach and raise his sword for
a killing blow blood trickles down Arawn's face and his vision blurs.
But suddenly a wolf lunges forward and tackles the Daoine. As Arawn
hears snarling and growling he loses consciousness but swore he saw
red eyes on the wolf? Later when he wakes up he finds the Daoine is
dead from a shredded throat wound but no wolf is around? Arawn
quickly tends to his wounds which has made him dizzy from blood
loss and goes to the village to be healed and helped. CEP 42.]
[Marqi 4 - 6 - No Encounters. Arawn Heals and rests.]
[Marqi 7 - Miklav introduces Arawn to a Merchant today who has a shop
in a village about 50 miles east of the sacred forest. Arawn is
surprised to find that the human is the only civilized merchant who
has a "shop" here. He seems to have been from some distant city in
the west. The merchant has setup a network of sorts to get goods
from the west to here. Even Miklav doesn't know hoe he does it but
seems to tease the merchant about it. The merchant brings many goods
the Vassa trade for and in return the Merchant gets pelts and artwork
among other goods.]
[Marqi 8 - Arawn is invited today to a Ceremony held by one of the
very high druids in the area under the Arch Druid. It is a spring
ceremony for a good season of rain and very few forest problems like
fire and disease.]
[Marqi 9 - 11 - No Encounters.]
[Marqi 12 - Around 10:41pm Arawn is on the edge of a Vassa village on
patrol helping the village watch for rumors of trolls. When suddenly
a silver manned wolf comes out of the bushes. Arawn notices his
glowing red eyes immediately. The wolf stares at Arawn for several
long seconds then suddenly speaks to Arawn in a language Arawn
understands. After a minute or two the wolf leaves and runs into
the forest before Arawn can question the wolf.]
[Marqi 13 - Around 5:53pm - Arawn is riding and notices a small human
child around 10 years old running in the forest. Fearing he is being
chased Arawn follows and the male child stops. He sees the boy has a
leather sack and wishes nothing to do with Arawn. After talking
quietly and giving distance for the boy the kid finally comes clean.
He explains he is running away from his village cause his parents
won't let him hunt with the others even if he is skilled with a bow
for his age. Arawn can't quite relate as he was on hunts early in
his childhood. But he tries to relate by telling a story of how his
parents would not let him attend courts of other gods saying he might
cause a god war or cause entire planes of existence to be destroyed.
The kid laughs and after a bit of convincing Arawn and the boy rides
back to the village and returns the boy who decides to stay and hunt
in 2 years.]
[Marqi 14 - Arawn knows today is the last day in the Pavassa forest.
In the short time here he has many made friends with animals, elves,
sidh, druids and strange supernatural beings. He has seen and been a
part of a few rituals but his plan to learn more of the gray creatures
comes to nothing. He knows Chion will show up tomorrow to pick him
up. He begins to make his farewells with everyone. Late that
evening Bohusara, Mertz and Miklav calls Arawn for a private meeting
to discuss one thing however. Even Thig, Strie'bog and Vul'heim
aren't invited to the meeting.]
[Marqi 15 - In the early morning Chion whisks into the forest with a
swoosh of his cloak and flourish. He finds Arawn and stays for a
brief time with the others catching up on news. Strie'bog seems to
indicate he'll remain in the forest for now with his mother to help
out. When ready Chion and Arawn instantly teleport to the teleport
circle at Caladan's tribe. Chion then teleports to the next leg at a
secret spot outside Sivas city. Both then walk into town having gone
hundreds of miles in 15 seconds or so. Chion and Arawn depart ways
in the city and Arawn seeks out some shops before visiting with party
members at the tavern late in the afternoon.]
[Marqi 16 - 19 - Arawn continues to explore the city and shop. Even
though his face is continouusly covered up not revealing his face he
is not bothered and has no encounters.]
[Marqi 20 - Around 2:29pm Arawn is walking in a military area getting
some exercise past various barracks. The street is deserted but
soon 5 city guards in full gear exit a barracks and come behind
Arawn. They notice Arawn and call out. Arawn doesn't know the full
language but he understands a basic halt command. Arawn stops and
knowing this could be tricky quickly casts a illusion on his head.
The 5 guars come up and surround him inspecting him up and down.
They laugh and wonder what is under the garments and head wrap.
Arawn quickly gets the impression they think him a female. The
leader demands he removes the face wrap. When Arawn tries to
persaude otherwise the guards threaten to remove it themselves.
Two approach to try to hold arawn but Arawn unwraps his face
revealing a human pale face. When Arawn speaks they soon realize
he is not female and give up their excitement. Three of the guards
urge the others to move on to the brothel but the leader asks Arawn
for his name. Arawn gives it and the guards seem satisfied with the
answer. But they get their ego back and order him away from the
area leery he could be a spy or thief. The guards head down the
street motivated by thoughts of pleasure.]
[Marqi 21 - Around 2:50pm Arawn is riding his horse through a poor
area on a poorly maintained road. A walking servant is heading his
way and seems to recognize Arawn. The man calls out for Arawn but
after a minute of talking it seems the citizen has him for mistaken
identity thinking the man to be a prince who is known to wear a head
wrap like Arawn in the city.]
[Marqi 22 - Arawn is walking from a shop that has just closed at 8:04pm
to his hotel nearby when he notices from a closed shop lights inside
from a candle it seems. Arawn notices a man in the dark open drawers
and stuff things in a bag. Arawn seems to have stumbled upon a
criminal thief. Arawn looks inside and seems to notice the shop is
a silver shop mainly known for selling utensils but more expensive
silver pieces. Arawn checks the front and notices the door still
locked so figures the man got access from the back. Arawn runs
around to the back and the alley. Sure enough the door is ajar
broken into. Arawn waits and hides behind a garbage large set of
crates. Soon the man comes out into the dark alley and his bag
jingles with booty. As the man passes Arawn he trips when a leg
is put out. With one swift knock on the back of the head with his
sword's hilt the man gets knocked out. Searching the bag Arawn
finds ropes and ties him up with his own rope. Then Arawn leaves
and pays a boy a CC to report the news to city guards who later find
the unconscious man and arrest him for stupidity it seems. Arawn
doesn't want the attention of guards or possible reward.]
[Marqi 23 - Around 10:34am Arawn is riding from one district to another
to the market. He finds himself in the rich district with rich
estates. As he rides slowly down the road 4 city guards on their
own horses ride from a side street startling Arawn. Arawn doesn't
have time to cast an illusion this time as it was a sudden thing.
The guards eye Arawn over and look down the street. Fearing a
possible thief they demand Arawn uncovers his face. When Arawn
tries to persuade otherwise two guards draw crossbows. Fearing
an aggressive escalation Arawn uncovers his Elven face and identifies
himself. One guard snatches the bag of Arawn to inspect it stating a
rash of robberies demand it. Arawn tries to persuade and influence
them not to search but the guards seem not in the mood to not to
especially with a man wearing a bandit like face wrap. In his bags
they find flasks, flints, paper, ink, quills, scrolls, religious
symbols they have no clue what it means, healing kit, a raven feather
they seem very puzzled by, food, water skin, wand they only figure to
be a stick and a talisman figure to be a trinket of no value. But
when the guards fine the religous symbols they wonder if it was
stolen. then they find the Emerald and wonder if its been stolen.
But other stuff that Arawn has is at his hotel. When they find no
typical thief tools like picks, rope, spare bags and other devices
they finally decide it might not be stolen. The leader reads from
a scroll stolen items and the emerald and odd religious "trinkets"
aren't on the list. The leader seems apologetic but takes his name
down just in case. The leader gives his name and garrison commander's
name in case a complaint is filed. The leader simply informs he was
doing his duty and suggests not covering his face in the future.
With bandits on the roads outside the city most would kill first
and ask questions later with such situations. The guards return
all objects back to Arawn as he covers his face again and rides
off. No mention of "elf" was spoken. Maybe they just figured his
ears were a birth defect or they never saw an elf before?]
[Marqi 24 - Around 1:25pm Arawn is riding near a cemetery going to a
market that may have some good herbs. When exiting the front gates
a citizen appears. He seems like peasant station 0 stock and drunk
even Arawn can detect the smell from on his horse. The man begins
to speak to arawn in crazy tones and demanding that he return his
brother to life and the gods are evil. The guy continues to rant
and Arawn decides talking to him in his drunken state would just
escalate things. Arawn decides to avoid the man and ride off
quickly with the man yelling behind
him like a raving lunatic.]
[Marqi 25 - No encounters.]
[Marqi 26 - Around sunset Arawn is in a tavern getting some dinner
when he talks to the barmaid who is scared by Arawn's face mask. He
tries to talk smoothly to calm her. When she recognizes the robes
and some of the symbols as Druidic arawn seems surprised and admits
they are to calm her further letting it slip. When a man in a nearby
table hears the conversation he begins to demand Arawn leave that
barbarians (druids?) should not be in the tavern or the city. The
citizen keeps complaining and Arawn ignores him. When the man's
money seems to run out and Arawn's continues the barkeep kicks the
man out knowing that money talks and bums walk. But Arawn in the
last 2 weeks has studied man and seen all sides of him in this
strange culture. Clearly his face wrap frightens many but doesn't
seem to serve much purpose other than drawing attention to himself.
He has seen the evil side of man that steals from other men and
the kind merchants who help the poor in need. He will never fully
understand this odd human culture.]
[Marqi 27 - 28 - No Encounters.]
