[Recap]
From Kiet: [Re: Actions]
Kiet has several things that need to be taken care of
before leaving town.
First of all, with Zabyra. He goes to her and says "Thanks...
As for Kiet's costs per the update, Kiet agrees with all of
them. The cost for a clean, private room is worth every brassy
bit.
GM: Ack. Since I did supply run that day the last line of supplies
for horse removed. But we get gist. :)
From Z'leyra: [Re: Actions]
Z'leyra pondered how to move the poison from the great spiders
and eventually says "Ah ha! Catch a live squirrel someone,...
She would do so if possible.
GM: Ack. This is technically out of character. I don't know.
To me a Shaman is a guardian of animals. The whole Tonah
link is obvious on that. Shamans IMHO tend to uphold the
spirits and the spirit of the animal kingdom. Taking
a defenseless animal captive hundreds of miles away away
from a possible family is OC as I see it. Maybe others
see Shamans differently. Thus the warning in chat.
From Z'leyra: [Re: Actions]
A moment later after Z'leyra looked at whether it was a good
idea. "Oh well. Unless one finds a squirrel set out to ...
GM: Ack.
From Z'leyra: [Re: Poison]
"If the spider poison cannot be transported I suggest we...
GM: Ack. Don't forget spider poison will need to be a rite
to enhance it. As to using it in the party the language
file shows who has what to learn or needs. Any learned
language seems to fade once duration ends. But I can
re-read that part later.
From Arawn: [Re: Actions]
Arawn will adapt to Z'leyra's schedule. He'll make teaching
her the Healing Mist spell his priority, dropping any personal
IBT training to teach the spell in case there's a schedule
conflict.
GM: Ack. Problem is its not you teaching but her learning. Riding
it is difficult to be educated in spells. One could ride
and talk about it. But in the end sitting around and studying
the rites of the spell is needed. So figure 12 hours of
riding and 7 hours sleeping (per spells). At most that is
only 4-5 hours if that can learn. Typically my rule of
thumb as outlined eons ago is need 12 hours to devote.
So this would be a 3rd of that time so I can only award
a max of a 3rd of the normal points thus around 0.6 points
per day. This is why in the past some who do more than one
skill during iBT get partial for each. I think its fair.
From Arawn: [Re: Actions]
Decalis 7:
Busy tending to the wounded Arawn nearly missed ...
"My energies are best expended here but if it's ...
-----------------------
Arawn spent the time since Reddoff's demise tending to the
body and counseling Trihs through his anger and grief. In
the somberness of days he remained otherwise quiet, a
thoughtful look on his face as his mind wandered through the
labyrinth generated in the avatar's wake.
Decalis 10: When Zabyra and Trihs prepare to separate from
the party...
Care and understanding shone in the alfar's eyes as he bade
the pair farewell. Acknowledging their decision he offered
both a fae blessing for a safe journey. With a hug he then
expressed his desire to hopefully cross paths again one day,
bidding them to leave word with Kaylle at the library should
they ever wish to get in touch with the druid.
OOC: If they didn't get a share of the gold Arawn will give
the 6gc or so he's earned to them, evenly split between the
pair.
Inn and other purchases:
Arawn will pay for a private room if one is available.
He'll also cover the cost for his horse and any extra that
aren't paid for by PC's. He'll pay for a bath, one a day while
in town, and a good cleaning/grooming for each of the horses.
He'll tip 25% for services rendered.
Arawn will also purchase enough hay and feed to see the
horses fed for up to 5 days, or at least enough to reach Aratad
if the party plans for more than 4 days of travel. And with the
possibility of cold weather Arawn would like to see that there
are blankets to keep the horses warm. He's willing to purchase
for any in the group that do not have the resources or forget
to do so.
Again, if a cart would improve speed then Arawn is willing to
purchase this (as we no longer have all of the extra pack
horses).
He'll purchase enough food to cover 5 days for himself -
vegetarian fare with a share of fresh items. Once outside of
the city he'll cast Preservation on the fresh items to
maintain them for the journey, recasting once the spell fades
on any fresh food that has yet to be consumed.
GM: Ack. Gold added to Zabyra's sheet if he returns. Ack
on expenses. If I recall hay is low this time of year
so can't buy much for road. But grain is fine. No
based on the data in the game a cart would decrease speed
greatly. Surprised didn't preserve Reddof's body. But too
late now.
From Z'leyra: [Re: Actions]
Z'leyra will pay for basic rooms at inns that the party stays
at. Any that want better, private rooms can pay the difference
She also pays for stabling the horses. Even in inns she will
continue to use her Watchful Sleep to help prevent thefts and
guard against attacks. Items of loot that are not claimed by
party members are to be sold at cities and towns where we
can find buyers that pay reasonable prices without taking too
much time. Particularly valuable items of loot claimed by party
members should have the value contributed to the party treasury,
but we don't sweat the small stuff and prefer that party members
get useful items than the gold we could get for selling them.
Z'leyra sees that the cooking and bedding materials may be
useful in the future and puts them as party items.
In that we have only a small cushion of time for unexpected
eventualities Z'leyra will urge that only the minimum time be
taken at each stop along the way and that the quickest route
be taken.
GM: Ack. For those who will be future leaders. Vague things
or If-thens do little for me. Definite Do This or That
is best. It is fine to ask folks for advice sure. But
it speeds things up to do definite than probably stuff. When
going to 5-6 cities like party does let me know in advance
if possible how long. I'd suggest a procedure like If
arrive X then do Y. So if before noon then eat/supply
up but leave. If arrive by 5pm then might as well sleep
the night in city, etc. It will just help things out.
Just a bit of advice for future adventure leaders. :)
From Z'leyra: [Re: Actions]
To avoid wasting whole days in cities Z'leyra wants sections
between cities that might have us arriving some morning at a
city instead be pushing travel by starting early and traveling
late so that we arrive the previous night to when we would
otherwise have arrived at the city. One night per city till
we reach Ticasi.
GM: Ack. Problem is maps aren't that accurate. I do posts
how many miles per day and the miles in each leg this
is where estimates can be done in advance. :)
From Tobie: [Re: help]
I did talk to Scott on this first, so that I would not just be
blasting to the group. Thank you for your time to read on.
I don't usually ask people to do this, but I am hoping that you
all might be able to help my wife and I out. My wife had been
diagnosed with Uterine cancer at the the beginning of the year
and we have been making sure that it is taken care of. She has
had two major surgerys (one to remove the cancer, second to fix
the Hernia's she got from the first one). Also, she has
undergone a lot of treatments. Basically, we have had to eat
through our savings and extra funds, plus her not being able
to work most of this year, has us sorely underfunded. We have
started a gofundme account to ask for support in making sure
she can continue the treatments (which are making sure she is
cancer free) and to help pay for the medical expenses that are
outside of our insurance coverage. If you can help (even a
small amount is great), we thank you, but if you could also
pass this along to your lists, that would even help more.
Here is the link http://gofundme.com/3qb2pdpm
Thank you for your support and love.
Tobie
GM: Ack. We will keep you in our prayers. I hope folks will
be able to help you reach your goal. Please keep us updated
on how things are.

[New Stuff]
[Thaliba - Forest]
[Decalis 7th, 1634TH]
[Time: 7:12 pm]
Z'leyra looks at the crystal chalice and goblet of spider
poison. Clearly its not near enough to hold the full possible
amount of poison in the spiders. She considers her options.
Z'leyra pondered how to move the poison from the great spiders
and eventually says. "Ah ha! Catch a live squirrel someone, I
have an idea! Not 100% sure that this would work without
something living, so we get the goblets filled with poison.
have then next to each other and the squirrel tied and somewhat
wrapped around the goblets. Then I can cast a basic Time Stop
on the ensemble, followed by a Time Trap and I should then be
able to carry the ensemble for the next two weeks without
spilling a drop even if I carry then upside down."
Kell frowns, "would you like to be captured from your home
and taken far away?"
A moment later after Z'leyra looked at whether it was a good
idea. "Oh well. Unless one finds a squirrel set out to find a
new home for itself it probably isn't a good idea. Darn. So
unless one of you comes up with a good idea we probably won't
have enhanced spider poison for sale."
"If the spider poison cannot be transported I suggest we
enhance and use it ourselves to give the recipients as many
languages as possible. Those with the least languages learning
from those with the most. If any volunteer I will enhance the
poison, cast a divination to determine that the enhancement
worked, have the enhanced fluid drunk and then the rest of us
chatter away in as many languages as we feel comfortable
chattering away in and in 24 hours of not being able to speak,
those that drank the fluid should be able to use all the
languages spoken."
Busy tending to the wounded Arawn nearly missed Z'leyra's
comment regarding the squirrel, the Alfar's head suddenly
snapping to a few seconds later. His mouth hung partially agape,
waiting to see if the shaman would realize just what had slipped
from her lips. Luckily it seemed that such was but a momentary
lapse, most likely courtesy of the shock of battle. With a sigh
and a bemused smile he shook his head, returning to what he was
doing and listening to the plans for the spider venom.
"My energies are best expended here but if it's deemed important
enough perhaps someone teleport back to the last major settlement
for a proper container," he suggested. "Though I don't recall
crystal being a necessary component to carry the venom. Are we
sure that it's needed?"
Kell shrugs, "the gods are fickle. But to be honest things
like this change. A bit of inside info - traders do it to spice
things up. One week it might be satin for this item the next
ivory for that. If they can add things to deals it means more
coin for them. But as to the policy the gods apply they are
fickle as much as traders."
---------------
[Decalis 9th, 1634TH]
[Time: 7:48 pm]
Arawn spends time alone but nearby the camp to cast some
private spells. But it only takes a short few minutes.
---------------
[Eastern Zarun - Plains]
[Decalis 10th, 1634TH]
[Time: 4:28 pm]
The party is still a couple hours outside of Zara City.
The party is stopped allowing the horses to graze and rest for
the normal 10 min period.
Kiet glances to the east to the blue blob that on a good
day might be the forest. At this distance it is hard to tell.
Kiet looks at Kell who is reshifting his bags and talking to
Zabyra about the art of Gem trading.
The acrobat turns to Unali and speaks to her softly and they
both head north to a clump of ground with some bushes. It is not
a hill on the wide plains but it has a area for some privacy.
The area is about 80 feet off the road and gives some alone
time. Both Unali and Kiet heads there with a couple of his bags.
From the road Zabyra glances at Kiet wondering what the pair
is doing. She can see above the bushes his shoulders and arms
move. He seems to raises his arms and gestures a few times.
Then Kell goes over why Gems have to be double checked due to
flaws which distracts the Rogizini girl. When she glances back
she sees Kiet and Unali walking back. Unali seems bored but
Kiet is smiling. Zabyra readjusts her turban and pretends
to look away quickly and smiles at Kell.
[Zara City]
[Time: 6:40 pm]
After everyone is down stairs finishing up eating, Arawn
spends time in the room alone and casts a couple spells. He
asks Corona to sit by the window to safeguard if any dangers
come to pass but here in the Inn there should be little
danger. He is aware of the warning of the danger of using
magic in the city so he casts it in his room alone.
[Time: 7:03 pm]
Zabyra and a injured Red Shirt arrives. Red Shirt refuses
treatment, especially magical here in the city. He believes
it is a rite of honor to capture scum like his bounty. Some
like Kell and Arawn give some or all of their party shares of
their loot to the two.
Zabyra spends her final time with the group before heading
to the ship for sleeping. Kiet offers a toast and jokes
a bit with her then gets serious.
"Thanks for watching out for Trihs. Um, before you leave I
will need to get that sword back. You should be able to buy a
weapon you can use here, but if you need help with it, let me
know." Kiet relieves her of the weapon almost immediately.
Zabyra nods, "of course. I also will return the horse loaned
by Z'leyra. It has been exciting and dreadful but I enjoyed
my time here. I will pass word to Chocan if I leave Sivas or
not."
Kell corrects the dancer, "Cholan."
"Chplan of course."
Kiet then turns to the group, he says "Before we leave
tomorrow, I would like to visit a moneychanger. I plan to get
some Aratad, Shiben and Ticasi coin before we arrive, convert
maybe 1/4 of my Zarunese coin for each."
Kell nods, "we passed that place by the gate they should be
open in the morning. I suspect Ticasi coin will be harder to
obtain and convert. "
Arawn has been giving prayers and blessings for Reddof's return
to the spirit world. Now Arawn offers his share of blessing
and prayers to Zabyra for a safe journey. He knows going past
Porta and Climan patrol zones will be dangerous until closer
to Malnon city.
--------
[Zara City]
[Decalis 11th, 1634TH]
[Time: 5:45 am]
The stay at the Inn was uneventful with barely even a notice
aside from one door slamming due to a drunken old man. For
those who had private rooms with a nice bed its was very
pleasant. For those who had common rooms with a nice bedroll
and pillow it was warm.
The party heads downstairs to eat breakfast of ham, sausage,
bacon, eggs, breads, oatmeal, fruits and potatoes smashed up.
The orange juice was a bit off so most had other juices or
tea. After the party watches as the boys rush to take their
gear from the rooms to the stables.
[Time: 6:28 am]
Twilight is still around but finally the horses are all
mustered up and prepared. The party leaves heading to the
north west gate.
[Time: 6:35 am]
Traffic from caravans, farmers and merchants already start to
clog things up. But finally the party arrives at the gate just
as the first rays of day shine in the distance. The day sees
clouds roll in but it is not heavy. Temperatures today range
from a cool 45 to a warm 82 degrees as the party enters the
wide plains.
The party is sad to see one death and two leaving the group.
But the mission needs to continue. Maybe they will be seen
in Sivas when the party returns.
[Time: 9:49 am]
The party has to stop to let Kell deal with some sausage
stomach issues. As the party are dismounted on the road Kell
finally found some bushes and one lone tree. In a plain this
big there are few clumps of trees.
Suddenly a yelp is heard form the bushes some 55 feet
off the road to the north. "Ye'owwww!"
The party looks over and sees Kell trying to pull up his pants
and stumbling away. He trips on something and rolls over. Kiet
and others grab weapons and rush over to help.
Kell manages to stand again and pull up his pants just as a
boar charges out of the bushes toward him. The group coming
forward seem to stop as they realize it is a simple boar. But
in fact another then a third adult board rushes out toward Kell.
Kell runs toward the road and the others. Then two more large
adult boars join the other 3 and all but 1 charge the party.
Some like Unali and Arawn can see there are 6 piglets
as well. Kell must've found a sunken hallow or lair.
The party realizes the animals are just defending their
homes and young. The party could slaughter them but Boars can
be deadly as well with their speed and tusks. The party decides
to just leave and rushes back to their horses.
As the party runs back to the horses, Corona dives
toward the boars and tries to distract them by blasting
the ground in front of them with his magical eyes.
As the party rides off Kell glares at Kiet. "Don't even
say it."
Kiet smiles and wonders if he relieved his stomach pains.
----------
[Western Zarun - Plains]
[Decalis 12th, 1634TH]
[Time: 5:15 am]
Since Zabyra and the cousins left the party has 3 less who
can do sentry. Since 3 are asleep most of the night that
leaves only 4 who can do any sentry at anytime. While the
3 sleep for a good 7 full hours the 4 get less sleep all to
help Z'leyra. Fremea, Kell, Kiet and Pyan have to take the
bulk of the night as watch. At two sentries per watch since
in possible enemy lands this means 6 hour sentry watches
and only 6 hours of sleep at best when its usually only 4-5
hours compared to the 7 for the sleep spellers.
This time in the morning Fremea and Pyan are on the last
shift. The camp is 80 feet or so off the road which is to
the north of the camp. The campfire is dim with hot coals
heating the area since it will be daylight soon no need to
restoke it at this hour. It is mostly embers and a few flickers
of flame.
Fremea is on aerial patrol flying glad to be in her natural
state and not some dress. On the road she notices a group of
people walking west to east. Two seem to be holding lanterns
as they walk. From above she spots 7 of them. All humans in
winter clothing and gear like backpacks. The one in the lead
seems to be wearing a green robe of some kind with symbols
on it but at this distance over and darkness it is hard to tell.
But Fremea can see this man has a magical aura. But the others
seem to be mundane humans. She guesses he must be a wizard
of some sort. All the male humans are moving fast eastward.
One notices the campfire in the south of the party's camp.
But the wizard only eyes it for a few moments. He speaks
in a language that Fremea doesn't know.
From the camp Pyan eyes the group as they move eastward.
Two of the others seem to speak as if to urge the man to
approach but this is only assumed based on gestures and their
tone as if to plea for help. But the wizard seems to just shake
his head and speak with greater certainty that they will avoid
the camp.
The wizard's party moves east past the camp's location
and continues on.
[Time: 5:32 am]
By now Pyan loses sight of the lanterns and figure things
are well. Fremea gives pursues the party for some time to
ensure they don't back track. It does seem odd to be traveling
so early in the darkness like this on foot. But humans are
strange creatures. She rather deal with a spider or goblin
better than some weird humans.
Fremea flies back to the camp.
[Time: 5:52 am]
Pyan begins the breaking down the camp waiting for others
to finally wake up. The night before was a bit fun wit Kell
bringing some whiskey from Zara and causing some hangovers.
But finally the party wakes up and glares at the singing birds
and noisy crickets.
Fremea explains the odd wizard party briefly as the
others eat a light breakfast of leftovers from Zara.
[Time: 6:29 am]
Party mounts up and the temperatures seem to lower a bit.
Today the clouds roll in thick with half the sky full of cloudy
but not overcast. The coats have to be worn as the temperatures
only range from 28 to 54 degrees at the noon hour.
----------
[Western Zarun - Plains]
[Decalis 13th, 1634TH]
[Time: 6:18 am]
The party wakes up for another day of travel in wonderful
Zarun. The party found a roadside inn but all rooms were full
and even stables full due to a large caravan of merchants and
other citizens.
But the party did camp nearby as it was safer to be with
others nearby. The Inn only had light food the night before
and no hay due to the large caravan taking it all by then.
The party decides to eat a quick breakfast outside after
getting bowls of soup, bread and oatmeal as the Inn was also
low on food at this time.
Today there is less clouds but around 25-30% of sky is full
of clouds taking the temperatures this day a bit higher from 28
to 82 degrees at noon.
----------
[Western Zarun - Plains]
[Decalis 14th, 1634TH]
[Time: 6:18 am]
The party wakes up again from a uneventful night. There was
a rabbit that did decide to enter Kiet's tent and nibble on
his pants. But that was about it. Kiet decides not to tell
Kell so he can add rabbits to the snake and spider list.
The clouds roll back in and the party misses the pure sunny
days of Marentia. The temperatures plunge to 11 degrees and
only warms up to 57 causing the party to don their best winter
clothing.
[Time: 5:42 pm]
The Aratad City margins finally ebb and show the actual
city ahead. The party nears the eastern gate of the city.
Kell recalls what Kaylle told the group and repeats it just
in case it was forgotten. "Unali you'll like this place they
hate Climans. I hear many good things about their fleet as well
their navy and their merchant ships. I may ride to the docks
but probably not since its almost night. Would be nice to see
the ships in action. The city is just as large as Sivas I
believe with over 30,000 people so we should fit in well. This
is my place though I've heard stories of this land in my own
circles. They excel in trade especially by their ships. So
we might find a good amount of markets here."
Kell glances at Unali and nods at the city, "Kaylle also told
me while the others danced at Unali's party that they respect
and honor the Elf. Not sure why. But I suspect you could show
your ears openly here with no fear. Sadly, he wasn't sure how
the Fae are treated. Sorry about that Fremea. Frankly any
land like Aratad that hates slavery is my place."
"I believe you were here once and learned their language
Z'leyra? If so you can speak for us. I'm told by my trader
friends that they do not like Donarans so we may want to avoid
that language. Though I do hear a small part of the people
actually speak Marentian."
As the party nears the gate they notice the people in this
area are rather short not many over 6 feet. It must be some
hill stock as Hill people tend to be squat and short. Guards
are seen holding small spears or have broad swords on their
hip.
Kell glances at the sun fading in the distance. "It will
be dark in maybe 35-45 minutes. I suspect we may only have
time to find a Inn if we stay the night. So what are the plans
for this city? Stay and leave first light in the morning or
visit the markets? Some markets are open after night but not
as many." Kell glances to Z'leyra. He knows staying even a few
hours in the morning could delay things further down the road.
But this is her trip so decides to ask her.
[Time: 5:48 pm]
The party enters the city with little trouble other than
a woman who spilt her bags of fruits. Arawn just had to
dismount and help her.
Z'leyra explains that since it is almost night they will
stay the night. The usual routine begins again finding a Inn,
stables and paying the expenses. Z'leyra pays for some of the
expenses.
----------
[Aratad City]
[Decalis 15th, 1634TH]
[Time: 6:02 am]
Party wakes up a bit late as the chill causes folks not
wanting to rise. Except for those who got private rooms like
Kiet the warm bed and blankets are nice and cozy so they have
less trouble waking.
The party eats and heads out. The day turns out to be cloudy
for the most part. The cool temperatures are only from 46 to 64
degrees. The 5th leg of travel to Ticasi begins.
[Time: 9:04 am]
Snow begins to fall lightly but continues for almost 90
minutes leaving about 1-2 feet of snow in some areas.
----------
[Aratad Province - Plains]
[Decalis 16th, 1634TH]
[Time: 6:05 am]
The cold night at least starts a day that is sunny and
bright with no clouds. The temperatures today range from
57 to 70 degrees feeling nice at noon.
[Time: 9:02 pm]
At camp on the plains since no inns are nearby the party
starts the night routine. Those using sleep spells already
start sleeping. At this time Kell and Kiet are sitting by
the fire as Fremea patrols. Kell looks at the tents where
Arawn, Unali and Z'leyra are nicely sleeping for 7 hours.
Kell sighs, "we need to get one of those sleep spell item
things. They get to sleep a solid 7 hours while we get half
that and have to watch the camp. Not fair if you ask me."
----------
[Aratad Province - Plains]
[Decalis 17th, 1634TH]
[Time: 5:58 am]
The day starts out nice after sunrise with bright and sunny
skies. Some during the day even remove winter lothing as the
temperature ranges from 66 to only 70 degrees with very little
difference for some reason. Some guess it is the area and the
hills causing little temperature changes.
----------
[Aratad Province - Plains]
[Decalis 18th, 1634TH]
[Time: 6:12 am]
Kell cooks breakfast this morning and finishes up some
nice eggs with spices he found in Aratad. The day starts out
with clouds rolling in to make it partly cloudy all day. But
again the day is fairly warm with it only being 62 to a crispy
82 at noon making folks remove any winter clothing today.
[Time: 6:08 pm]
Though twilight has started the party spots a fort in the
hills that are on the edge of the plains in the west. They
decide to push on till they reach the Aratad fort. Once there
the fort is very minimal with normal barracks but no real
civilian buildings. A very small inn is outside the fort
with a small tavern but it turns out the inn is full with
no room for the party.
The horses are placed in a corral for now but the fort
men do offer a barn to sleep in. At least it will be
out of the cold wind. There are two caravans here at the
inn so this is why its crowded. The tavern has a small
assortment of food but nothing as fancy as a city. Many
items are out of stock but a bird and or ham meal is good
for some or a slew of salad and soups for others.
----------
[Aratad Province - Hills]
[Decalis 19th, 1634TH]
[Time: 5:40 am]
Party wakes up and begins to pack back up. The barn was
warm though no fire could be made. The party and horses
are prepared and fed all around. Some do glance at the
map in the fort which is mostly hand written clearly not
expert map making. But it shows about 60 miles to Eured
city which is another 2 days.
The party mounts up and heads into the hills using the
Aratad road. The hills are cooler with temperatures today
ranging form 37 to 50 degrees at noon. But the day is bright
and sunny with no clouds.
[Time: 12:26 pm]
The party has stopped to eat lunch and discuss plans
for Eured. No one has been there but it should be a small
city.
Corona is sleeping in a nearby tree when sudden from
the west just over a rise of a hill a noise is heard. The
party glances over and sees shapes moving over the rise. It
is quickly determined it is 5 riders on horses. They are
riding fast toward the party and are about 200 feet away. The
wide open hills do not seem to give much coverage for a ambush
but I guess these folks decided that was their best approach.
The riders look to be wearing heavy brown leathers on decent
looking horses. Three riders suddenly draw swords and look like
they are not here to chat about the weather. Two of the riders

away. The bowmen look like they are knocking their bows and
aiming.

Next Update.....Monday...
GM: A bit update and a place to stop. There is just this one
encounter from Aratad to Eured. So many days pass and I
just moved folks along. I hope all had a great Christmas
and Holidays. Now the grind of the new year begins all over.
In fact this means less time for updates. The reason for no
update this Monday was ran out of time. I was off but
things happened with a small emergency. Now Friday 1/1 and
MLK day (1/18) will be it for days off until May (Memorial
day) then after that till September so it will be a long 9
months of work. Because of this my normal schedule will be
Tue/Wed off. This means good chance for a Monday update
since I'll be up late Monday night. But Friday updates will
be iffy based on time. So I will typically start or try to
updates on Wednesday afternoons if enough posts and I can
plan for other stuff ahead of time. So keep this in mind
for 9 months. :) So probably 90% chance of Monday updates
but maybe 60% of Friday updates. :)
Based on Tobie's post you now know why Tobie/Fremea has
been distracted. If you go to the site listed you will see
details. Some of you know Tobie in the game but I've known
him since 2007 at least when I got the app file. So that
long. HE hosts the ftp server space for my game site. So
I hope that you guys will help some. This is after all a
community of friends in a common cause. I've talked to
Tobie in chat and he says you can share this news and info
all you need if it helps. You are not obligated but I vouch
for this situation as there are details on the situation I
know I've known his wife has been sick for some time among
other things. At the very least keep them in prayers.
BTW we lose 3 folks but now we are stronger. OR so they
say. :) Look at the names for Red Shirt/Reddof in the old
rosters. Reverse the names. Yeah yeah. I know lazy. :)
This update was done over 4 days Sat/Mon/Eue/Wed So I hope
it makes some sense as I almost lost a lot of the text due
to an accident. So i hope its cohesive.
GM: Final chance for Spider Poison. I was going to make the
deadline 1/1. But since this update is late I'll make it
next Monday 1/4. Arawn has suggested a basic teleport to
obtain vials. He is tapped at the time of the combat (well
mostly but it would be difficult to return those large
distances on his current mana which is if I estimate 80% at
least tapped out). Keep in mind would need to probably go
back to (from Thaliba) to Malnon or Sivas. Going west to
Zara is out likely due to the whole bad magic thing. Going
to Aratad is possible at about c. 230 miles. But would need
to prepare a spot and or landing magic. Going to Malnon is
480 or so miles but would need to preeare. Landing in Sivas
is 680 or so miles could land with little prep but would be
costly going and coming wise. Then once in the cities the
chances of finding a vial made of crystal is slim. Most are
glass, metal, clay, ceramic style things. Let's face it
crystal is too easy to break. So finding such in a city is
chancy. Even if finding one or two it might not be enough
to hold the full 64 oz of doses. Now some suggest
transmuting or magical containers. Keep in mind the
molecular structure should be crystal. It is possible that
magical crystal could degrade the poison (Laws of Magic).
So keep this in mind. If I do not hear things on this we'll
move on. I will assume no poison was taken Did get the
furs which is worth more anyways. One could try to carry
it in the goblet and chalice but you'd have to hold it up
and high in your hands and hope not to spill it for 230 or
so miles till you get to Aratad. :)
GM: For this combat assume all armored and weapons at hand due
to pit stop for lunch off road. There is really no terrain
here other than dips/rises of the hills. At this location
there is no woods or major trees so I only do a basic hex
map for the combat. This assumes there IS a combat maybe
they just need directions? Based on maps they are around
140-150 feet away so a bit further than I posted above.
But this gives plenty of time to react probably 3-5 phases
my guess. I do not list horse locations on map for clutter
but assume nearby and easy to mount up.
GM: Mana/IBT - I will update mana and IBT when we enter Eured.
For mana purposes almost 2 weeks have passed so I'm sure
unless folks plan on massive spells folks will be decent
by the combat time. If you need a closer number let me know
but I can estimate your current mana. This will allow me
to do the updates of mana, food, ibt at one time rather than
3 sepArate times. For those casting the Knowledge style spells
it might be time again let me know and I can give you the
dates last cast. So if we are at Dec 19 currently.
